Pie Chart Creation from set of Columns.

Hi all,
I have got a query in BW. the Query output looks like.
A     B     C      D       E        F
1      2     2       3       4         5
So now the o/p gives a clear view that there are no rows in my Query. Now on the basis of this query i want to make a pie chart showing all the values of ABCDEF in it.
Please help me to build this.
Regards,
Soumyadeep.

Hi
Littile modification in last reply. You can create chart based on ristricted Key figures, only if that structure is in Columns. Now for your query you can create separate pie chart for A, B, C etc.
As these will be treated as separate 'Data Series' & you cannot club more than one data series in pie chart. You have to create Bar or Column chart.

  • Pie chart with legend as a column

    Watch the Keynote '09 Video Tutorial "Create and Edit a Chart": http://www.apple.com/iwork/tutorials/#keynote-chart . A pie chart is shown where the legend appears as bullets arranged in a column. When I try to create a pie chart, the legend appears as bullets arranged in a row. How to switch the legend from a row format to a column format, as in the video?

    Hi Pion - I worked on those videos, so I've got your answer.
    You can select a chart's legend separately - click on it until you see bounding boxes just for the legend - then drag the left bounding box towards the right, and the numbers will become a column.
    Let's say you wanted that layout for future charts in that presentation. First arrange your legend as you would like it, then click once on the chart itself to select the chart (the legend will be de-selected - no problem). Then go to *Format - Advanced - Set Chart and Legend Geometry for All Masters*. The relationship between the legend and the cart will then stay the same.

  • PIE Chart Color Highlight - setting colors

    Hi
    PIE Chart showing default colors even after setting the diffent colors to OIE chart slices from Color Highlight tab.
    PIE chart is showing only one slice when I select Data for the PIE Char is "For all records".
    Could you please let me know how to set the different colors for slices?
    Thank you

    hi,
    As you are selecting 'Color Highlight' for different Pie Slices,  "For all records" option shouldn't be selected.
    It should be "On Change of".
    Then obviously you will see the colors specified in 'Color Hghlight' tab.

  • Pie Chart doesn't display all columns

    I set up a simply table and made a bar chart = everything worked out well.
    I selected my table again and clicked on 'make pie chart' but this time it doesn't display all the colums. I really don't know what went wrong here.
    I'd appreciate it very much if some could help me out here.

    patte,
    Even though you have selected the entire table to be charted as a Pie Chart, and the table includes three data series, a Pie Chart can only display one series at a time, so it displays the first one; "3. Klasse"
    In "3. Klasse", the values of Schaukel and Drehscheibe are zero, so there is no pie to display.
    Hope this explains the situation for you. To make Pie Charts for the other two series, you would again select the header cells, then hold down the Command key while selecting the other series. Then add another chart. Do this for each series you wish to chart.

    Basically in below example i have five codes and corresponding id's for that codes.What im trying to achive here is if
    i have a null code then i have to move next not null code and id into its new location.
    Example:
    'A1'cd1,'A2'cd2,null cd3,'A4'cd4,null cd5,'i1'id1,'i2'id2,null id3,'i4' id4,null id5 So here cd4 and id4 should take positions of cd3 and id3.
    Output should look like this
    cd1 cd2 cd3 cd4 cd5     id1 id2 id3 id4 id5
    A1  A2   A4              i1  i2  i4Any help would be highly appreciated for below example:

  • JavaFX Pie Chart populate from existing collections

    Hi.
    I have a Person object with the structure Person(firstname,lastname,email, salary)
    I would like to draw a chart with the columns email and salary.
    I maintain the collection of objects in ObservableList which is populating a TableView.
    To populate a piechart, is it possible to use the same collection instead of creating a new collection for PieChart Data?

    private final ObservableList<Person> data =
    FXCollections.observableArrayList(
    new Person("Jacob ", "Smith", "[email protected]",new Float(1.0)),
    new Person("Isabella", "test", "[email protected]",new Float(2.0)),
    new Person("dsd", "Johnson", "[email protected]",new Float(3.0)),
    new Person("Ethan", "Williams", "[email protected]",new Float(1.0)),
    new Person("Emma", "Jones", "[email protected]",new Float(2.0)),
    new Person("test", "test1", "[email protected]",new Float(5.0)),
    new Person("Michael", "Brown", "[email protected]",new Float(2.0))
    I iterate through the above collection and populate a piechartdata collection
    ObservableList<PieChart.Data> pieChartData ;
    /* Itereate and add to colletion */
    new PieChart.Data(<employee_email>,<salary>);
    /* Iterate ends */
    final PieChart chart = new PieChart(pieChartData);
    is there any alternate way to populate pieChartData without iterating through the list.

  • Animate Pie Chart Wedge SEPARATION

    Is it possible to start with the entire pie chart, and then animate a wedge separating from the chart?
    PS - I know how to animate each individual pie chart wedges from appearing on a slide, that is not what I am trying to do.

    OK, now I get it. So you would need to place your two PieCharts in a s:Group or mx:Canvas. On top of the pie charts, lay another s:Group on which you will do some drawing on its graphics:Graphics object.
    In your case, you need to use dataToLocal() (will give you pixel coordinates in your chart) then localToGlobal()  (convert to Application coordinates) then globalToLocal() (convert to the Top Group or Canvas coordinates you want to draw in) :
    Using the dataToLocal() method
    The dataToLocal() method converts a set of values to x  and y coordinates on the screen. The values you give the method are in  the "data space" of the chart; this method converts these values to  coordinates. The data space is the collection of all possible combinations of data values that a chart can represent.
    The number and meaning of arguments passed to the dataToLocal() method depend on the chart type. For CartesianChart controls, such as the BarChart and ColumnChart controls, the first value is used to map along the x axis, and the second value is used to map along the y axis.
    For PolarChart controls, such as the PieChart control, the first value maps to the angle around the center of the  chart, and the second value maps to the distance from the center of the  chart along the radius.
    The coordinates returned are based on 0,0  being the upper-left corner of the chart. For a ColumnChart control, for  example, the height of the column is inversely related to the x  coordinate that is returned.

  • Charts in Report Designer - choosing columns and rows for categories

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a pie chart in report designer from a data provider which has 4 rows and 4 columns. As a default the chart created is using the 1st row for data and the four columns as categories.I want the pie chart  to use the first column for categories and 2nd column for data. How do I change the default chart behaviour?
    Best regards,
    Jai

    Hi Jai,
    take a look at:
    "Class 1 Chart Types" in http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/c9/08533b97037963e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    Link is regarding WAD web item but editing is the same in Report Designer.
    Here you will get information with example query for editing pie charts and what is possible or not.
    like:
    Structure of the Data Provider for a Pie Chart
    In a pie chart, the underlying table has only one row. The values in the columns form the pie segments.
    If the table contains more than one row, the additional rows are ignored when the table is converted into a chart. However, you can define which row is to be used (see below).
    Additional the link describes how to build the query for your requirement.

  • Pie Chart with Portal 3.0.8.9.8

    I have two portal installations, one with version 3.0.8.9.8 and the other with version 3.0.9.8.0. I have enabled the beta feature "Image Charts From Query Wizard" on both installations. I can successfully create and display a pie chart on the newer version (3.0.9.8). However, on the earlier version (3.0.8.9.8), I can only create the pie chart but it does not display. That is to say, the pie chart creation is successful, but when I run it, it times out and never displays the pie chart. Has anyone experienced problems displaying a pie chart with 3.0.8.9.8? I need to create one on this older installation since it is the version my client is using.
    Thanks,
    Kendra

    Do you have any logged error in jserv.log. Can you isolate the action of running the chart in 3.0.8.9.8 and find out corresponsing logging messages in jserv.log and error.log.

  • Making pie chart in numbers for ipad

    Hello
    I am just getting started with numbers on my ipad.  I have 4 columns of data, the first is an ID number column and the other three are checkboxes.  I would like to make a pie chart that show's the percentage of rows that have each of the three checkbox columns checked.  I am highlighting all three columns to be included in the chart and they all show up in the legend at the top of the chart, but the pie itself is just the color of the first column with 100% in the middle.  The data show that 5/10 boxes are checked in column A, 6/10 in column B and 4/10 in column C.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong....

    BAS,
    A pie chart can only handle one column of labels and one column of values. You will have to summarize your data in a table that has one column of labels and one column of values if you want to make a pie chart of it.
    Think about what a pie chart is. You have pieces of a pie and labels. How would you display any more data series in that context?

  • Overlay a graphic on a Pie Chart, & Rotate text in a Pie Chart

    Is it possible to overlay a graphic on a pie chart?
    I've tried manipulating the Wrap Inspector, but regardless, when I paste a graphic on topic it drops below the pie chart and deletes one segment of the pie.
    In a related pie chart question, is it possible to rotate the text to face into the central axis, think spokes in wheel (vs. the default horizontal). I can rotate the pie chart in about 3 dif. inspectors, but no luck here...and my texts is just a little too long to fit nicely in the default (and too hard to read if I reduce the font size).
    Thanks

    I assume you want to have a graphic that sits over the chart, and that you see the values underneath? Something like a shine, worn texture or logo?
    If you are wondering what happened to your particular 'missing slice' open the Graph inspector and select that section. Chances are you have changed the tiled image which was assigned to that particular piece of the pie chart.
    To overlay a graphic, draw a circle shape. In the graphics inspector assign an image fill to that shape. Choose tiled or scale to fit as required (a png. file with transparencies will show the underlying values, as will setting the opacity of the circle)
    Turn the wrap off for the circle (It sounds like your pie chart may be set to 'moves with text' instead of 'locked to page') And then place it overtop of the pie chart. Resize to fit. Since this is now 'locked to page' and above the pie chart, any movement of the pie chart means you will have to reorient your overlay. To avoid this, set the pie chart to Locked to Page as well.
    At this point you can set the wrap for the pie chart so the text moves around it if you like. Your overlay and the pie chart will remain in sync if they are both fixed to page.
    Regarding your text question, no. You can't set that. What you can do is use a numerical, letter or symbolic value and include a legend manually to indicate the true names of the portions using a text box.
    (I've seen someone with a pie chart whose segments were labeled with seven words, the last two of which were the only ones that changed. I suggested using the unchanging portion as the graph title and the changing portion as the individual slices. Not sure if that would apply to your project.)

  • Pie Chart -- Separate Slices

    Hello, I have created a Pie Chart. I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to separate the slices. I believe Oracle may have a feature to explode (separate) one slice of the pie chart away from the other slices. However, I was wondering if there is a way to separate each slice from each other.

    Hello,
    To "explode" a pie, just add the following lines in the "Graph Settings" :
    <SeriesItems>
    <Series id="0" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="1" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="2" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="3" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="4" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="5" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="6" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="7" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="8" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="9" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    <Series id="10" pieSliceExplode="100"/>
    </SeriesItems>

  • How to make an odd shaped pie chart

    Hi there,
    I was wondering how difficult it would be to translate stats into an odd shaped object, to be divideed up into a pie. Oviously I could make a normal pie. overlay it and split the object up according to the angles, but this would result in un even area mass (ideally the area of each slace should equate to the percentage of each figue).
    Hope this makes sense (my brains feeling slightly mushy thanks for excessive analysis of recycling statistics!
    Kind regards D.E

    DE,
    In a stump chart case like this it would seem appropriate to use the pith as the starting point of the chart.
    The following images show a relatively simple way of making a quite accurate division in connexion with a stump that has a strongly asymmetric shape with reaction wood.
    Always keep a copy of the artwork at different stages.
    I) shows the stump, the stroke/nofill annual rings and the pith as a group kept on top and (mostly) locked in the following steps, the stroked and filled (outer) shape of the stump being worked with.
    II) shows a division aid in the form of a 360 (1 degrees) pie chart, made from a Polar grid with 0 Concentric Dividers and 360 Radial Dividers: the Radial Dividers are extended past the outer circle, and the pie pieces are formed by Pathfinder>Divide.
    III) shows the division aid centred over the pith.
    IV) shows the stump moved on top of the division aid, its fill covering the inner part.
    V) shows the result of Object>Path>Divide Objects Below where the stump has cut the division aid.
    VI) shows the result when the outlying superfluous parts of the division aid have been deleted.
    Now the division aid consists of 360 closed paths, each spanning 1 degree, all starting/meeting at the pith. These should be Ungrouped.
    At any time up to this point, the total stump area may be determined, for older versions the free Telegraphics PathArea Filter may be used (available at http://www.telegraphics.com.au/sw/browse/Filters).
    Now it is easy to select a number of closed paths of the division aid and use the PathArea filter (or whatever) to determine the proportion of the total area (simple division), to adjust by adding/removing and/or undoing/redoing, and then to Pathfinder>Unite (or whatever it is called in the version in question) to create a piece of the pie, and finally to increase the Stroke Weight as desired.
    VII) shows the result of creating the top piece of 11%.
    VIII) shows the result of creating all the pieces (made clockwise one at a time), the three 11% pieces (the first one and the two last ones) chosen to be alike, thus showing the great difference(s) in angles for identical areas.
    This procedure leads to a great number of Anchor Points in the bark; it is possible to get rid of them by scaling the pieces with the pith as the key object, placing the original stump path on top, and Object>Path>Divide Objects Below, then delete the outlying parts.
    It is also possible to move the pieces apart, away from the pith, if there is a wish to hurt the stump (even more).
    The accuracy is well within 0.1% of the total stump area for the least accurate pieces.

  • I have no idea how to set up a pie chart for tracking spending with categories

    This is what I want to do to help me track my credit card spending.
    I want to make a Numbers sheet where i can jot down how much money i spent on a item, and what category that item would go with (example, food, electronics, gas, so on).
    and then i want to have a pie chart that will show much how much money i'm spending in each category and how much of a percentage of the total each category takes up of the whole.
    I have no idea how to set this up in a sheet. I tried typing it in a few times and every time i go to make a pie chart, it never shows me any of the results i want to see.
    can someone please help me set up a sheet to be able to get this information to display correctly in a pie chart?

    Brad,
    Create a table with the categories and the data (for now you can make up the data):
    Now add a chart from the Charts menu in the toolbar:
    Now click the "Add Chart Data" button just below the chart.
    Now select data (from column B) in the table.  Last trick is to click the menu at the bottom-left corner of the window and change the selection to "Plot rows as series" :
    Now add formulas to the table to properly summarize the data from your data entry table using the sumif() function.

  • Pie chart legend showing digit "1" when we set "ignore blank cells"property

    All,
    We have pie chart in Xcelsius 2008 that shows the data with legend value and we have also set the ignore blank cells property to ignore the blank value from column. but once we set this property, it displays the digit "1" in the legend when there is no data.
    we are expecting that nothing should be displayed in pie chart legend when there is no data for the pie chart.
    Thanks,
    Sourabh

    hi Sourabh,
    I could replicate your scenario.
    Workaround is to create a duplicate of this chart. Go to properties of this new chart.
    Go to Appearance ->
    Uncheck
    - Legend
    - Mouse-over values
    - Data Labels
    for this chart.
    Write a logic in excel using 'IF' to verify if your data is empty.
    Use 'Dynamic Visibility' feature to display this chart only when your data is empty.
    Display your original chart if your data is not empty.
