Pile-Shuffle Images Animation

I have several images piled up on top of each other in a fan-like pattern (as in fanning a card shuffle). I'm wanting to create an animation that brings certain images to the top of the pile and shifts the rest down a level - like this:
http://videohive.net/item/information-card-shuffle-ae-/108863?WT.ac=search_item&WT.seg_1=s earch_item&WT.z_author=MotionMania
That example costs 10$:
I'm considering purchasing it, but I have absolutely no idea whether it would work for images.
The perspective effect as well as the 3D environment is delicious and would work great for my project, but it isn't essential.
Please could you guys advice me on the route I should take,
thanks
Harry

Looking at the example on VideoHive, I'm not seeing the "shifts the rest down a level" part.  I believe that's just an illusion of modifying the stacking order.
Here's how I would do this:
Create a layer for each photo and set the anchor point to the corner where they will all overlap.
Create the "fan".  Rearrange the layer order to get them to stack properly.
Animate the rotation property for each layer by using keyframes.  At the end keyframe, rotate the photo so that it's in the spot you want it to be located.
To make the photo come to the top of the stacking order, move the current time indicator to a spot somewhere during the rotation.  Select the layer, then "Edit" menu-->"Split Layer".
Make the new split layer the topmost photo layer.
The Videohive example uses drop shadows on each card to simulate depth.  You could do this, too.
Another option is to make the photos 3D layers, and modify the rotating photo's z-depth.  But that's more complicated.

    Why can I not check the 'Shuffle images' box in settings of a slide show in iPhoto 9.6? All other settings I can check but this one.

    Hey Brad,
    If you are unable to select the shuffle images checkbox, follow the steps in this article -
    iPhoto '11: Change slideshow settings
    Specifically -
    To display slides in random order, select “Shuffle slide order.” If you don’t see this option, play the slideshow, move the pointer to make the slideshow controls appear, and then click the Settings button.

    Here is the above post in English courtesy of Google translate. Just trying to help out.
    The Subject of the post in English is  "How is this done?"
    Hello,
    I have seen this video several times: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tl7phyAq2Jk) and I'm trying to reproduce the effect used on the video in my video editing software.
    Unfortunately I do not quite understand how they did it.
    I first thought it was enough to put a shadow with PSD layers and opacity and move them on video, but I noticed that each layer seemed to have its own video.
    So I tried to superimpose several videso and give effect a CROP set on the face, change the scale and everything. But when it comes to moving the layer that is another story. I need to change the path of the layer, the path of the ongoing crop video AND the video on the face of the person. Seems like a mammoth task for just one layer.
    I suspect there must be a simpler way, but I don't see how.  Any suggestions?

  • How do I create a 3D rotating images animation

    Hi, I'm trying to create an animation like the one on www.ibuypower.com
    I have 4 images that I would like to array in a similar 3d animation that users can manipulate like the one on this site.
    Any tips?
    Thanks

    If you want to replicate that effect in the same way, you should ask this in the Flash forum. The effect was created in Flash.

  • Why does image animation not display in project preview or published?

    Most of my slides involve 4 images. I've staggered their appearance at .3, .5, .7 and .9 seconds. All works well when I preview the individual slide. But previewing the project, or publishing it, results in them all appearing simultaneously at .0 seconds. How do I correct this?
    Thanks,
    bberg1

    Thanks for your reply. I checked the timelines and they look correct. Of course, I can see the timelines only in the preview of the individual slides, when the animation works fine. Capturing the slide preview timelines would therefore not help with the problem. Once I preview the entire project, the timelines are not accessible, and the images 4 images appear all at once at .0 seconds rather than sequentially at .3. .5 .7 and .9 as in the slide preview. What is most puzzling is that some of my projects, with the same settings as far as I can determine, work just fine in both the slide only and project preview.

  • Shuffling Image Positions

    If I have 20 images (cut jigsaw puzzle pieces) scattered around the top, sides and bottom of a stage, and want to shuffle their positions upon entering the frame (or using a button), what type of shuffle/swap array would I need to randomly swap their X Y positions? I've looked for examples in solitaire type games, but haven't found any so far.
    Any help appreciated.

    So far, I can, by adapting a script that I found, create an array of positions for the 20 pieces (currently named p1, p2, p3...p20), randomize the array and trace the output.
    var positions:Array = [{x:28.85, y:21.85},{x:243.80, y:20.85},{x:450.80, y:17.85},{x:648.80, y:17.85},{x:850.30,y:17.85},{x:855.80,y:124.35},{x:852.80, y:269.35},{x:852.80, y:418.30},{x:855.80, y:597.30},{x:693.30, y:606.30},{x:604.80,y:612.30},{x:357.80,y:611.30},{x:194.80, y:608.30},{x:17.85, y:606.30},{x:853.30, y:491.30},{x:6.85, y:462.45},{x:10.85,y:216.50},{x:28.85,y:425.30},{x:236.80, y:609.45},{x:494.30, y:615.45}];
    var len:int = positions.length;
    var pos:int = 0;
    for (var m:int = 0; m < len; m++)
       pos = int(Math.random() * positions.length);
       trace("Setting one clip to x: "+Object(positions[pos]).x+" and y: "+Object(positions[pos]).y);
       positions.splice(pos, 1);
    What I need help with: even through I can set up a trace, I'm not sure how to now take the "traced" output and insert it into another array to position p1, p2, p3...p20?

  • How combine a jpeg image & animated gif image & save  it as GIF ?

    i have an jpeg image, & also aminated gif image, how do i place the animated gif image over (in the center of the image) a jpeg image & save it as gif file ??

    First thing you need to do is stop thinking in terms of file formats once the files are in photoshop they are all the same. The exception being vector vs raster. But in this instance the process is rteally the same so 6 on one hand a half a dozen on the other. Or as some would say Tomatoe, tomahtoe(mispelled on purpose).
    The jpeg I would assume is the background image and the gif image is the fore ground object. Open the jpeg, and then place the gif file. As long as the fore ground object has transparency, your job is pretty much done. If not, then it will be up to you to mask what you want to keep vs what you don't and apply that selection to the foregrounds layer as a mask.
    Google the net or skim the users manual for the keywords - mask, selections, quickmask, pen tool, paths. Each of these can in one way or another take care of your issue.
    It would be worth your time to also go through the numerous videos about photoshop and see how its done.

  • I have a pile of images that I need to add dimensions to. (show height, width, depth with arrows). I think data merge won't work for this because the images are all different. Is there any way to automate this?

    I've been doing this manually for hundreds of images, and it seems like i could create an action that would reference the folder of images and also reference a text file and merge the two. Is this possible?

    basically, i have 300 images that are silhouetted and on a white background. i need to draw in arrows and then place the dimensions on the image, much like this:
    But you're right - i will check on the scripting forum. thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

    Hello ,
    I may be in the wrong place here, so move this topic if need be, but this is where I feel most comfortable.
    I currently import CAD models into Autodesk Inventor Publisher and here I can pull them apart, create cross-sections, change the appearance etc.
    However, Publisher has become  ridiculously unstable to a point where it is unuseable.

  • Animated GIF image gets distorted while playing.

    Hi,
    I have some animated gif images which I need to show in a jLabel and a jTextPane. But some of these images are getting distorted while playing in the two components, though these images are playing properly in Internet Explorer. I am using the methods insertIcon() of jTextPane and setIcon() of jLabel to add or set the gif images in the two components. Can you please suggest any suitable idea of how I can get rid of this distortion? Thanks in advance.

    In the code below is a self contained JComponent that paints a series of BufferedImages as an animation. You can pause the animation, and you specify the delay. It also has two static methods for loading all the frames from a File or a URL.
    Feel free to add functionality to it, like the ability to display text or manipulate the animation. You may wan't the class to extend JLabel instead of JComponent. Just explore around with the painting. If you have any questions, then feel free to post.
    The downside to working with an array of BufferedImages, though, is that they consume more memory then a single Toolkit gif image.

  • Ghosting problem when animating an image

    I have written an animated GUI for a program a wrote a little while ago, just to make it a little bit more fancy, however I am having a few setbacks with the animation.
    I have a JFrame, which is divided into 3 main JPanels each having a custom animation. The code compiles and runs, but I get some strange results for the first 10 - 15 seconds of the program starting. I get what I can only describe as ghost animations popping up in all the wrong places, however after a few seconds they disappear one by one, leaving just the required animations all doing there thing quite happily.
    Has any one got any ideas what is going on and how I can resolve this problem please?? Below is some of my code so you can see how I make the images animated, if you require more I'll post the rest on request.
    Thanks in advance Kris Dowse
    public void run()
    while ( AnimateSCA )
    try
    iAnimateSCA = getToolkit().getImage( "C:/SetComputerAttributes/Images/SetComputerAttributes" + CurrentImage + ".gif" );
    mtAnimateSCA.waitForID(0);
    catch ( Exception e )
    if ( CurrentImage == 40 )
    CurrentImage = 1;
    else
    CurrentImage += 1;
    repaint();
    requestSleep();
    public void paint( Graphics g )
    g.drawImage ( iAnimateSCA, 0, 0, this);
    public void requestSleep()
    try
    tAnimateSCA.sleep( DelayTime );
    catch( Exception e )
    P.S. Can you assign dukes from a topic that got new replys onto this one?

    I have tried changing the method name from paint() to paintComponent() but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.
    The result I get is the main animation panel shows a copy of the main frame for around two seconds, then the first animation image is loaded over the top.
    Then in the top corner of the main animation panel the secondary animation loads. It stays there as well as were it should be for around ten seconds. During this period the main animation is very jerky.
    After a period of around 10 seconds all the anomalies disappear the program runs, as it should.
    Further assistance would be greatly received.
    I have put a similar post on the 'Java Programming' forum today as well, and it has 5 dukes assigned so if you would rather reply there, I will at least be able to reward your help,
    Thanks Kris

  • Is there a known bug when animating images with edge and dps?

    Hi, I've seen some oddities when using edge to create html5 elements for Indesign. Essentially I have spent hours trying to get an image to scroll from left to right. Works fine in a browser and worked fine in dps and iPad yesterday. Using the same setup: the stage in edge is 768x1024 I then animate a large image in the x axis 0 to -500 over 6 secs, I then apply a ease in and out. I then save the HTML, and publish for dps. Within dps I goto file > place and select the published file that edge generates for dps. I then update and preview either in desktop or iPad - the file loads but the animation does not play.
    Weirdly if I follow the exact same steps but add some other bits of animation ie drawing a square and moving it, the animation plays. If I open an existing file I.e your inbuilt tutorial files, delete the content and redo the image animation it works, it's only in a new project that it doesn't  preview or play in iPad?
    Another issue I have is when it does load the animation doesn't load in that well and shows most of the bottom and then after a .5sec the rest of it loads. so it's a vbit scrappy - any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    To give you a bit more info, we used my bosses computer and he was able to recreate the same issue with the animation not loading. however if we change the process by using the rectangular frame tool and using the web content folio overlay it works, and inserting the HTMLResources.zip. However we noticed that the animation did not run smoothly, very jerky like the ipad was struggling. I've now corrected this, by changing the properties of the image within edge from div to img. This seem to have worked nicely.
    So there are some weird things going on, more so around the publishing function within edge.
    Many thanks
