PIM Sych and Outlook items marked as "private"

Hello,
I am new to this forum and our organization is currently rolling out CRM on Demand.
My question is: Is there a way to keep calendar items which are marked as "Private" within Outlook to not get pushed into CRM during the PIM Sych?
Our current workaround is to make the Sych one way from CRM into Outlook. Several Sales users were hoping to have the Sych be a bi-directional (for various reasons), however do not want their personal appointments showing up in CRM.
Thanks in advance to any replies,
Lars

Yes, there is an option to "*Exclude Private data*" during sync between Outlook and CRM.
1. After Successful PIM SYNC Installation.
2. Enter your valid CRM environment login details and click "_Application Setup_".
3. In the setup pop-up window, you should notice "_Active check box_ selected and _Appointment is mapped with MS Outlook_" for sync.
4. Click on the Settings on the right of the pop-up window.
5. Make sure you have selected MS Outlook and click "_Advanced_" on the right of the pop-up window.
6. In Advanced pop-up window. you will notice below options
6.1. In first tab - How to sync, Select any "Two way sync" or "One way to Outlook" or "One way from CRM".
6.2. In second tab - When to sync, Select either manual or automatic with preferred timings.
6.3. In third tab - Appointments - there are four options [Confirmations, Conflict Resolution, Filters, Folder Mapping].
6.3.1. Select Filters and select "Exclude Private Data" and click Ok Button.
6.4. In fourth tab - Folder Mapping - You can map the new calendar folder if you have created to avoid using the default calendar folder.
Hope this helps you,
Thanks, Mahesh

  • How do I reload all my contacts and calendar items from Outlook to my iPhone

My iPhone has somehow gotten out of sync with my Outlook calendars and contacts.  It happened when I upgraded to Outlook 2013.  The syncing appears to be working since the last iCloud update to v2.1 but a bunch of stuff that didn't sync when iCloud and Outlook 2013 weren't talking has not synced now that they are.  I think if I could just clear out iCloud, which does match my iPhone, and resync my iPhone, then the iCloud would pick up what is on my phone and everything would match again.
I would not like to do a factory reset because of the other data that would be lost.
    Thanks,
    Froggie

Go to Settings>iCloud and turn off Contacts and PhotoStream. Note that will off yo will not be able to add contacts on that iPod.. Also note that with Calendar and Notes are on those items will sync between the two devices.

I am having multiple issues with syncing my iphone calendar and outlook calendar on my laptop
I mostly enter the original items on my laptop
There are often 1 hour time differences in the entries on the 2 devices and sometimes events that have been amended are not updated on iphone

This sounds like an error in Time Zone support. The time zone needs to be the same in Outlook as well as the phone.

  • Multiple mails and multiple work items comming to inbox and outlook

    Hi friends,
it seems that i am facing a differnt problem like i am able to get the notification mails and work items. However i am getting 3 notifaction mails and 3 workitems to my out look and inbox consequently..
how to resolve  this plz help

    Hello,
Does it happen all the time? Does it happen with more than one workflow?
The fact that they disappear would suggest they're coming from the same workflow. Check SWI1 to see if there is more than one workitem. Check the workflow log to see what the real problem is.
Is it possible the workitem was forwarded on?
Please let us know the solution when this gets resolved.

  • Calendar and Outlook sync issues and inconsistencies

    Hello,
These issues have existed since my first iPhone (3GS) and Outlook 2007, and they continue today with my 5S and Outlook 2010:
    1.  When I add an appointment on my iPhone calendar, after I sync with my PC the appointment in my Outlook calendar has a 99 day alarm and is marked as private.  I do not set either of these attributes when creating the appointment on my iPhone calendar.
    2.  Some all-day appointments that I create in Outlook show as 12am to 12am across two days on my iPhone calendar.
    3.  Some all-day appointments that I create in Outlook show as No Time on the iPhone, others show as the entire day.
    4.  After syncing through iTunes, some iPhone calendar items that have specific times get moved to the no time area in Outlook.
    5.  Notes for calendar appointments lose their formatting when I edit and update the note on my iPhone.
Looking for resolutions to the above annoyances.
    Thank you,
    Jeff

There was a setting I hadn't found in the PC Companion software:
On the start sync page there is a settings heading next to a spanner on the righthand side - this takes you to sync settings
Select Personal Data Selection and then the properties button for Calendar
You can then set the sync to select all your appointments or a subset.
I hope that this helps someone - it has taken hours to find this setting!

  • Powershell and Outlook Issues

So my ultimate goal is to export emails after a specific length of time as a .msg and then upload them to sharepoint for archival purposes.
My issue is all the examples I find never seem to work for me. I use PowerGUI for my ISE, I have powershell 2.0 and Outlook 2007 SP3
So for example, when I try something very simple according to the scripting guy
Reference, I try this line of code:
    [Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialname("Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook") | out-null
    [enum]::GetNames("Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlDefaultFolders")
This should list the enums used to point to the different folders in outlook....here are some of them:
    olFolderDeletedItems
    olFolderOutbox
    olFolderSentMail
    olFolderInbox
    olFolderCalendar
    olFolderContacts
    olFolderJournal
When I run it, either PowerGUI or straight in the console I receive the following error:
Cannot convert argument "0", with value: "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.OlDefaultFolders", for "GetNames" to type "System.Type": "Cannot convert the "Microsoft.
Office.Interop.Outlook.OlDefaultFolders" value of type "System.String" to type "System.Type"."

    + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], MethodException

Truth be told, no matter what sample I try they all fail, for instance try and run this function (yet another scripting guy article)
    Function Get-OutlookInBox
    Add-type -assembly "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook" | out-null
    $olFolders = "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.olDefaultFolders" -as [type]

    $folder = $namespace.getDefaultFolder($olFolders::olFolderInBox)
    $folder.items |
Select-Object -Property Subject, ReceivedTime, Importance, SenderName
    And this one fails with:

    If I change:
    Add-Type -AssemblyName "Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook" | Out-Null
    To:
    [Reflection.Assembly]::LoadWithPartialName("Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook") | Out-Null
The first error goes away, but the second one remains. What the heck am I doing wrong?

    Hi,
    How about change
    $folder = $namespace.getDefaultFolder($olFolders::olFolderInBox)
    to
    $folder = $namespace.getDefaultFolder($olFolders.olFolderInBox)
    Please test it.

  • Outlook 2007 - Calendar setting private removed wh...

    Hi
    Using
    Outlook 2007
    OVI 3.0.0.284
    6700 Clasic
Some of my Outlook calendar entries are marked as "Private". After sync with the mobile that setting is removed even though the entry is not updated in neither the calendar nor the phone. The error does not happen everytime I sync. However, I have not been able to find a pattern in the error, but seems to happen every 2nd og 3rd time I sync.
    Any clues?

    Thank you for your feedback.
Could you please provide us the log files?
    1. Here are the instructions for attaching log files:
    - Open Nokia Ovi Suite 3.0.0.284
    - Enable log gathering by double-clicking the enable_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Click the button to start enabling the logs when prompted by the dialogue
    - Click the button to confirm the "Logs are enabled" dialogue
    - Exit Nokia Ovi Suite from File - Exit. This is mandatory! Closing NOS to system tray is not enough!
    - Open Nokia Ovi Suite again
    - Try to reproduce the error you are reporting
    - If the error still exists, double click the collect_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Click the button to start collecting the logs when prompted by the dialogue
    - Click the button to confirm the "Logs collect & zip finished" dialogue
    - Attach the NOS2_logs.zip file in C:\Temp\NOS2 folder and screenshots in the error reporting form
    - Go to your %TEMP% folder, which can be found by entering %TEMP% to the Windows Explorer's address bar. Then search debug_log_date.txt in this folder, where date is the current date (or choose the latest one) and attach also this file in the error reporting form. The exact %TEMP% folder paths are:
    In XP: C:\Documents and settings\your_username\LocalSettings\Temp\
In Vista and Windows 7: C:\Users\your_username\AppData\Local\Temp\
    - Disable log gathering by double-clicking the disable_logs.js file in installation folder C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia Ovi Suite
    - Click the button to start disabling the logs when prompted by the dialogue
    - Click the button to confirm the "Logs are disabled" dialogue
You can send these log files, system information details to [email protected] mailbox.

  • HT1692 Have recently installed itunes and outlook on a new computer.  Have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, Help!

My new computer is 64-bit running Windows 7 pro, SP1 and Microsoft Office 2010 Pro Plus 32-bit
My phone is a 4S runing iOS 6.1.3
Very frustrated now that I have recently installed itunes and outlook on this new computer.  Everything worked perfectly ok on my laptop which was also 64-bit Windows 7 and running 32-bit Microsoft Office 2010 Pro.  I have multiple email accounts set up in Outlook tho only use contacts and calendar in relation to one of these. Cannot sync itunes with the correct contacts and calendars, when I sync the calendar and contacts are empty.  Not sure if there is any way to point itunes to particular address books and calendars.
I have installed and uninstalled itunes 3 times and thank goodness have a backup
    Can anyone help please?
    thanks in anticipation

I had my home computer set up to sync to work's Exchange server. It worked well, but I didn't like seeing work email messages and other programs trying to sync with my default Outlook folder, which was then the Exchange (& work related) .ost file. I know there are various ways to manage those problems using filters, view, subfolders, etc., but it was a hassle for me. I think it could work well for many other folks.
For now, I have published my work calendar and subscribed to that calendar on my home computer. So I have view only access to my calendar on my home computer (and I can add/edit calendar items on my iPad (or Outlook Web Access) when away from work). This is not quite what I wanted, but it may work.
It almost makes me long for the days when I used my Windows Mobile Treo to sync back and forth between exchange at work and outlook at home (but had many sync conflicts as a result).

  • I use a Win7 PC with iCloud and Outlook 2010 for syncing my calendar and contacts. I can enter data in my Outlook Calendar and it will appear in iCloud, but data entered in iCloud does not sync back to Outlook.  ICloud syncs to my iphone fine both ways.

I use Win 7 PC with iCloud and Outlook 2010 for syncing my Contacts and Calendar.  They have stopped syncing...mostly.
Now, appointments I enter on my local Outlook (iCloud) Calendar goes up to iCloud fine.  But, data I enter on iCloud directly does not come down to my local Outlook iCloud Calendar.  If I reboot the computer, the iCloud data shows up.
Also, Contacts I try to enter on my Outlook (iCloud) Contacts goes up to iCloud fine, but does not show up in my local iCloud Contacts.
All syncing works with my iPhone.
I have signed out of iCloud on PC.  I have stopped syncing and re-started.  No change.
I have an .aplzod folder for iCloud.  I have a separate Earthlink.net.pst email account in Outlook and a me.com.pst Outlook email account (which I don't actually use) listed under Data Files.
Any help would be appreciated.  Curious that Outlook will upload to iCloud but not receive downloads unless I reboot.  However, rebooting does not download the missing Contacts.
    Jim Robbins

    Hi Jim!
You've started off with some good troubleshooting steps, so let's see if we can take this a little further and figure out what the issue is with your iCloud contacts and calendars. I have two articles here that will help you troubleshoot this issue a little further, but the troubleshooting steps for both articles are exactly the same, so I will lay those out for you here:
Note: When using iCloud Control Panel 2.0 and later, iCloud Calendar event descriptions in Outlook 2010 do not support text formatting (bold, italics, or underline), HTML, images, or attachments. The contextual (right-click) menu has also been disabled.
If you are having trouble with a PC (with Outlook 2007 or 2010) and iCloud Calendar, try each of these steps, testing after each to see if the issue is resolved:
Verify that you are using a Windows configuration that is supported by iCloud. For more information, see iCloud system requirements.
When enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel, part of the setup process is to copy your Calendars data from the default Outlook ".pst" file to iCloud, and then remove the Calendars from the ".pst" file by placing them in the Deleted Items folder in Outlook. The Calendars data is then stored in the iCloud data set within Outlook so that changes can be pushed to and from Outlook by iCloud. Be sure you are looking for your data within the iCloud dataset within Outlook after enabling Calendars in the iCloud Control Panel. The deleted files can be seen by viewing Deleted Items within your Outlook Folder List. This is not iCloud removing your data; iCloud simply copies your data into the iCloud data set and then removes the local Calendars data by placing it in the Deleted Items folder.
Make sure your computer is online. Attempt to view www.apple.com and iCloud.com. If you can't connect to the Internet, your iCloud calendars and events will not update in Outlook. Click here for more information about troubleshooting your Internet connection.
Open a secure website to test if you are online as is necessary for iCloud Calendar. This also tests if the ports 80 and 443 are accessible. Outlook requires port 443 access to iCloud in order to push and pull updates to and from the iCloud Calendar servers.
Verify that your iCloud member name is entered into the iCloud Control Panel pane. See iCloud Setup for more information about setting up iCloud on Windows.
Completely close and reopen the iCloud Control Panel.
If you recently made changes in Outlook and they are not moving to your other devices or vice-versa, click the Refresh button in Outlook.
Turn iCloud Calendar off and back on:
    Close Outlook.
    Open the Windows Control Panel:
In Windows 8, move the pointer to the upper-right corner of the screen to show the Charms bar, click the Search charm, and then click the iCloud Control Panel on the left.
In Windows 7 and Vista, choose Start menu > All Programs > iCloud > iCloud.
Remove the checkmark in the checkbox next to Mail, Contacts, Calendars & Tasks, and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then replace the checkmark, and click Apply.
Open Outlook and test to see if the issue has been resolved.
Ensure the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active within Outlook.
    Outlook 2010:
    Open Outlook 2010.
    Click the File menu.
Click Options in the left panel of the Outlook window.
Click Add-Ins in the left panel of the Outlook Options window.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For Outlook 2007, follow these steps to verify the iCloud Outlook Add-in is active
    Open Outlook 2007.
From the Tools menu, choose Trust Center.
Select Add-ins from the left column.
Look at the list of add-ins beneath "Active Application Add-Ins" and verify that the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" is listed.
For additional information about managing Add-ins with Microsoft Outlook, see this Microsoft support document.
Restart your computer. This may sound simple, but it does reinitialize your network and application settings and can frequently resolve issues.

  • Contacts and calendar items disappear when exchange server is off

    Hi All
I've been having this problem for a few weeks now and it's most frustrating. My iphone is setup to sync over the air to our corporate exchange server. It seems that when the server is down for repair/patching ALL my contacts and calendar items disappear from my iphone. This doesn't seem to happen if the phone is out of signal?
I know that I can sync directly with Outlook, however this would then mean that the phone is only updated when synced with my laptop at work. If I sync both over the air AND with Outlook, I get duplicates of everything in my calendar.
I'm not restoring my iphone to factory defaults to get rid of the duplicates and go back to over the air sync only.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get calendar and contacts to work "offline" when the exchange server is down?
Main PC is running Windows 7 and exchange is 2007. This problem is only recent, I think in the last month of two. Nothing has changed other than the last few firmware updates from Apple.

hi, cheers for the info. That would make sense, however how come when I'm out of signal and not connected to wifi, the data doesn't also disappear as that too would render the server "unavailable".
Is there a way to make the iphone keep a copy of the data much the same as "offline mode" in Outlook where you can still browse your email, calendar and contacts when the server is offline, and it picks up where it left off when the server is available again?
I appreciate this may not be a "problem" as such, but is frustrating as all my contacts and calendar live in Outlook and I can't function without them

  • Synching on Windows 7 (64 bit) between Palm desktop (6.2.2) and Outlook 2010

I have recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit) and Outlook 2010 which I use for email, contacts and calander.  I have managed by a miracle using bluetooth to synch between my Tungsten E2 and Palm desktop and know that there are no tools, as yet, to synch between my E2 and Outlook 2010.  Would  it work as  a two stage process i.e.
    1. synch desktop and outlook
    2. synch desktop and E2.
If so how do I do step one?
    Thanks

In PD 6.2.2 there is a PIM conduit switcher. Have you tried this?
Another option I can think to try is to export your data in a format compatible with Outlook, .csv or .tab and then import into Outlook.
Chapura makes a program called pocket copy. It is a one time transfer of your data from PD to Outlook.
They have a program called Pocket Mirror but is only compatible with 32 bit versions.
Here is a link to their site.
