PipeLine Services and ABAP class

Hi Experts,
We know that a XI message processed through various pipeline steps and an XI pipeline is a configured series of pipeline services, can anybody please tell me is a pipeline service a particular ABAP class or something that performs a particular step for mesage processing? if this is true than how can you see those ABAP classes?

put SRV
enter

There is no any specific condition or rule that for this purpose you need to use BOR and Class , it depends on your requirement. not only the requirement but also the new techniques to make classes not just as simple way to create objects but when you use classes in the Workflows they are not simple classes but they are BUSINESS CLASSES which makes a lot of difference.

Generate AS3 service and value classes for Blaze -- without FB4

Is there a way to generate service and value object classes (like Flash Builder 4 does) from a command line -- or more specifically from within Maven?
We have a Java/Maven back end and wish to generate the action script 3 classes as part of the build process rather than interactively from within an IDE.

It should be easy to code something to parse the java classes in Adobe Air and create the Blaze objects. I did it once didn't take too long.

Java enqueue service and ABAP Enqueue service

If SAP netweaver AS and Java installed in one Server on same database, how many enqueue service will be there?
ABAP and Java should have separate enqueue process or they will share the same enqueue service, while ABAB and Java has different database schema?

Abap instance has its own enqueue server and java has its own in central service. Normally you can clear your concept, if you can see the Java Cluster.

Whatever may be the SAP Web Application Server Installation Scenarios ie, both abap and Java in the same database schema or with separate schema's, Java enqueue ( central services ) exists along with peer Abap enqueue work process.
For more detail go through the ADM200 which speaks about the Java architecture and its corresponding tools..

Web Service and Java Classes

Hello,
I have list of java classes. I have one java class which calls only the required functions from the list of java classes. When I try to create a VI on that java class I see all the functions needed but all of them are grayed.
Can anybody please help?

Has anyone else solved this problem? We too are experiencing the same problem.
We are trying to build a .JWS file from within an ANT build script. The build script compiles the site into a single EAR file that should contain a deployable and usable JWS component, however it obviously does not.
If anyone has a solution, please let us know. We're facing a code freeze on this project by this Friday and really need some help.

Webservice for ABAP classes

    This is regarding creating about web service for ABAP classes. On searching SDN forum this is not possible.
    But we should not call methods from a class within the function module used in webservice?
    Please advice.

How to find one pipeline service's corresponding ABAP class ?

Hello guru,
I am in t-code: SXMB_ADM, then go to "Display Pipeline Definition", for example, I choose "SAP_CENTRAL" and try to investigate the pipeline steps in "SAP_CENTRAL" pipeline, and I find these pipeline steps:
Receiver Identification is for "Receiver Determination" step, and its' pipeline service" PLSRV_RECEIVER_DETERMINATION", but when I find this Class in SE24, I find nothing with name "PLSRV_RECEIVER_DETERMINATION".
Please tell me how to find the corresponding ABAP class of a pipeline service.

Are u looking for this class -CL_XMS_PLSRV_IE_ADAPTER ? Go to SE80 choose class Interface give SRV and click the down arrow icon, it will give u some list of classes. I don't know if it's useful or not, just do a seach..

ABAP Class as web service

Hi All,
Is there any way to expose a ABAP class as a web service. I know we can create a FM or BAPI and expose them as web service.
Ex : If I have a SalesOrder class and this class has methods like getOrder(),getDetails(),getItems() etc etc
Now I would like to create a service where the above methods are methods inside the service.
(We don't have XI in our landscape)
Please correct me if my assumption is wrong.

i think you need to embedd the class/methods in a rfc enabled fm to create a webservice.

I think the best way is to use an ABAP class as a service is to use it in a function module as Prachi has mentioned it.
Or you use it in an ABAP webservice so that every method is available via webservice, but it depends on your requirements, if you only need one method from the class then a function module is the best and quickest solution.

SSO and ABAP Web Services

I am opening this thread on behalf of my colleague Bala regarding SSO and ABAP Web Services.
We have gone through single sign on options and found several options are available within 5.0.
We would like to know the options available for SAP ABAP web services access from a Non-SAP system with user authorization but without Portal/ITS installation.
Also I would like to avoid any hard coding of user id in Non-SAP system .
Could you provide any information.

ITS is now an integral part of ECC 5.0 system. So would not need a seperate installation, unlike earlier versions.

File to Proxy Scenario using ABAP Class and DB Multi Connect

Hello Friends,
I have a scenario below and a proposed solution. I would like some input as to whether i am headed the right way.
Scenario: Thousands of records come in from the legacy accounting system. The fields of these records need to be mapped to SAP fields using cross-reference tables stored in DB2. Finally, summarize the records by deleting a few fields and feed to R/3.
Solution i proposed:
(1) File Adapter is used to send the file
(2) Although JDBC adapter comes first to mind but since i need to access the DB2 tables multiple times for each record i propose to use an ABAP class for the mapping. Within the ABAP class the intent is to open an database connection to DB2, read the relevant cross tables using native SQL and finally generate the output XML.
(3) Reciever is Proxy which feeds this generated XML to SAP for creating posting via BAPI_ACC_DOCUMENT_POST
Question: Is the above solution correct or is there a better method to implement this scenario?

Looks fine. Few observations -
1. Whether it is ABAP class or Mapping in RFC lookup, you are making multiple trips to the database.
2. It looks like PI is being used only for reading the file and converting it to XML.
3. If using PI is not mandatory, then a complete ABAP class on ECC it self would be faster than swtching between PI Java, PI ABAP then round trips to DB2 finally data push to ECC.
If you could look at something like fetching all the required RFC look up data in one go and then map the fields according, might save u on processor and network resources.

JAVA Stack for consuming and providing Services with ABAP?

Hi Experts,
I would like to know if I need to have a Java Stack when I want to build a Web Application with Web Dynpro Abap and consume Enterprise Services from the Enterprise Service Repository. Additional own created services in ABAP should be provided. Is a Java stack necessary for that? Or is an ABAP Stack enough?

Hi Ingmar,
You do not need a Java stack to build or run Web Dynpro ABAP application. Web Dynpro ABAP runs on ABAP stack.
Just to consume a web or enterprise service from Web Dynpro ABAP application, or any ABAP application for that matter, you do not need Java stack, either. NetWeaver Application Server contains a component called ICM (Internet Communication Manager) that enables the AS to play both as a service provider as well as a consumer.
The part about consuming Enterprise Services from the ES Repository is more complicated, though.
ES Repository is only a modeling tool. Services are actually implemented in the respective backend systems and then registered in central Services Registry. So, if the Enterprise Service you want to consume comes from an application that runs on Java stack, although I do not have any example of that handy, then obviously - Java stack is needed. This is irrelevant, however, if your question only pertains to the consumer part.

As your name Suggests, there were exactly 21 rajapandian already who wanted exact information about Data class and Delivery class. Fortunately some has found the information by own and some were dumped by SAP Police.

Services WD ABAP for Career and Job of ESS

Dear Experts.
We are implementing ESS with BP 1.41 and we have the following issue.
The standard ESS package only provides steps to setup the original BSPs for the services of the Area Page Career and Job :
· Candidate Profile
· Data Overview
· Profile Release
· Apply directly
· Search for jobs
· Favorites
· Applications
· Personal settings
I want that this services call the EHP4 E-recruitment WDA applications.
SAP says that may be possible adapting the ESS role to include these applications.
What are the steps what I Sould do for include this service WD ABAP for the Area of Career and Job?

Synchronous message QOS in PI 7.1 and pipeline services QOS

Hi All,
As I understand,PI uses pipelines services (other than integrated Configuration based on AAE) for routing and mapping.Synchronous messages have QOS as BE.If they are also implemented as pipelines services,how does the QOS of pipeline queues (ie EO/EOIO) relate to QOS of BE.
Some how thinking of queues always relates to asyn messages(other than temp or request/response queues),so I am bit confused how a synchronous message flow uses pipelines queues which are asyn in nature.
