Pivot table measure heading
Hi All,
I have a pivot table in the following format.
Jan Feb Mar
A 19 22 31
B 12 21 44
C 11 23 21
D 12 34 28
Where A,B,C,D are Measure Labels
I want to have a heading above the measure label.
KPI Jan Feb Mar
A 19 22 31
B 12 21 44
C 11 23 21
D 12 34 28
How to achieve this?
Thanks,
Vino
I have no direct solution but may be you'll have to try this once
Add a new column to your first request and just put 2 in it.
Than combine your request with a similar request.
In this request you add a column with 1 in it (to make sure that this will become on the first line) and the other necessary objects.
Instead of your KPI dimension column, you put the text 'KPI' and for the measure an empty value.
Than hide your measure labels in the pivot table
and cast your the column with 1 and 2 in like case when 1=1 then 'KPI' else 'KPI Dimension'
Hope it's a bit clear and it will help you.

Good afternoon!
I'm trying to show data in pivot table. All the columns are in single logical table. I have achieved next result:
Image: !http://pics.livejournal.com/whitish/pic/0000hgz1!
But measures in cells are'not displayed.
In physical data source (xls file) my data stored as:
Image: !http://pics.livejournal.com/whitish/pic/0000kctt!
Could someone please help me to display my measures in cells?
Thanks in advance,
Alex.Hi.
Maybe is aggregation rule on Fuzzy Clussification measure set to None (more option/aggregation rule), if yes leave it to default.

Hi,
I have created a Pivot Table report (I use them all the time in Excel) as one of my rows...I am using a field that is a formula. When I look at the pivot table results there is a sum by this "row category"...all total 1726 items (correct # of total items' but the sum by each of the 4 items is wrong...when I drill (I can only drill from a higher level)...I get the detail of the 1726 items correctly...but if I do a pivot in Excel off the detail I get a different number in the 4 categories (actually the correct summary data)....HOW do I fix this...we really want to use the power of the report...but with such a large error it is difficult to trust the results of the report.
Report
Source Type MAG Created Year Parent Account Target Market # of Accounts
Marketing 2004 Unspecified Key Account 2,521
Quanta Services Inc Key Account 1
2005 Unspecified Key Account 388
Vipar Heavy Duty Key Account 29
2006 Unspecified Key Account 824
2007 Unspecified Key Account 838
Domino's Pizza Key Account 9
2008 Unspecified Key Account 582
Marketing 5,192
Grand Total 5,192
When you drill down...for instance...the data for 2007 Unspecified is 358 NOT 838....
Please assist!!! ASAPIt is very difficult to troubleshoot a report without seeing it, but it looks to me like you have a problem with your aggregation rules... each column has an aggregation rule, and a pivot table measure can also have an aggregation rule... sometimes, depending on the formula and columns that make up your formula, the aggregation rules can cause seemingly incorrect totals because the data is aggregated on the table and then re-aggregated on the pivot table.
If you would like, you may email me directly and I will see if I can help further.
My email is in my profile.

Updating model for pivot table in af:iterator
Using Master Detail relationship, i am trying to create multiple forms at runtime. I want to show all the forms at once. Each form has some header fields and a pivot table. Header field is coming from master table and pivot table should be made from child.
I am using af:iterator to iterate over master table rows and show header:
<af:iterator id="i1"
value="#{bindings.MasterTableVO.collectionModel}" var="row"
varStatus="index"> For pivot table, i dragged Child View Object from Data Controls to make pivot table.
<dvt:pivotTable id="pivotTable1"
value="#{bindings.ChildTableVO.pivotTableModel}"
summary="pivot table" sizing="auto"
pivotEnabled="false" drillingEnabled="false"/> Now while iterating, i am not able to get updated model for pivot table. Values from Master table are being updated, but pivot table from child table showing details corresponding to the first row of master table everywhere.
So can you please help me, how to get the updated pivot table model corresponding to the current row in parent iterator ?
I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.6.0
Thank You.
VSHi Aswini ,
I didnot worked for me. I need to change the usecase a bit..
however you can eaisly display the af:table inside iterator in readonly mode, but when you perform crud operations inline then it gives problems..
Can you explain your usecase.

Running sum per column in pivot table
Hello,
I am facing a problem with a running sum in a pivot table. As you know, the running sum provided by OBIEE spans across rows and columns. My requirements force me to have a running sum per each column (I have four columns, one for each quarter of the year). My pivot is as follows:
------------------------------|| 1st Quarter / 2nd Quarter ...
type of product / status || (Measure / Running Sum) / (Measure / Running Sum) ...
I've tried using the evaluate function with a "sum over" but that doesn't seem to work either.
Do you have any ideas that could be useful to solve this?
Thank you in advance for your time,
João MarquesDo not use the "running measure" button in pivot table, but try this :
edit the formula of your measure and type :
RSUM(mesure by dimension)
where dimension is the attribute dimension that you put on the ROWS of your pivot table
Exemple : I've got the criteria REVENUE, YEAR, CUSTOMER TYPE
I put the YEAR in the Columns of the pivot table
I put the CUSTOMER TYPE on the rows of the pivot table
I put the REVENUE in the measures of the pivot table
Measure has the formula : RSUM("Facts Revenue".Revenue BY Customers."Customer Type") -
In Pivot table how to show folder heading of a Measures column
Hi gurus
I am using 11.1.1.6.6 version
Any idea how to show column heading of a measure column in Pivot table view.
for Dimension its working fine
I have 3 dimension column and 12 measure column in my reportHi Santosh Sutar,
Did you mean that you want to hide/show the rows in an worksheet? If I understood correctly, there is no such API in apps for Office at present. Most of functions are used interop with data.
If you want apps for Office to support this function, I suggest that you submit the feedback from link below:
Customer Feedback for the Office Developer Platform
And you get learn more about apps for developing from link below:

One question in measures table heading of a pivot table view when using 11g
Hi experts,
I have been working on OBIEE 10g for 2 years, and lately I started developing on OBIEE 11g. It is great to discover so many new features which make reporting so much easier and look better, meanwhile, I got confused by some detail changes they have made. I was able to overcome most of the difficulties I have met with, but now there is *1* I can not figure out. Any idea or suggestion is appreciated.
In OBIEE 10g, when we develop a report using a pivot table, we put column A and B in Rows aera and column C Measures aera, the result would look like this:
/ / A / / B / / C / /
//VA1 //VB1// VC1//
//VA1// VB1 //VC1//
But now I am using 11g, when I put these columns in the same aeres as I did in 10g, the result is surprising like this:
/ / BLANK / / C / /
/ / A / / B / / blank //
//VA1 //VB1/|/ VC1//
//VA1/|/VB1 // VC1//
It looks weird that it should put Rows labels and Measure labels in different lines and create blank labels, and barely makes any sense. I am OK with the blank above the Row labels, but not with the blank below the measure label. A blank label that separates a label and its value is not what I want.
Can anyone help me to make the pivot table look the same as it does in 10g? Or at least remove the blank label below the Measure label?
Thanks in advance.Hi,
I am facing the same issue, have you solved it? -
Hiding a measure column in a pivot table in BI Answers
Hi,
I need a report to have a hierachical format such as:
Top Company
Middle Company
Customer Name Customer Id Customer Creation Date
To achieve this, I apparently need to add a measure column to the Rows data, but I don't want to show it.
Would anyone know how I can hide a measure column in a pivot table?
Many thanks,
- JennyMeasure Columns can't be hidden like an attribute. How ever you can use custom style sheet for Value and Header Properties to not show the measure.
for the "Custom CSS Style Options (HTML Only)" under measure properties of the column set "Use Custom CSS Style" value to 'display:none'.
Let me know if this worked.

Pivot table without any measure columns
Hi,
I have a requirement where all my report columns are from Dimension tables and i have no measure to display in the report.
But I need to create a Pivot table view for this requirement.
Can someone help me how to represent results in Pivot Table view without measure columns
Thanks in Advance.Hi Sri,
Try this it will work.
Add a dummy column in your measure section.
then in pivot view --> measure section --> dummy column -->more options -> format heading -->custom css style --> mark use custom css and give display:none
and
more options -> format measure values -->custom css style --> mark use custom css and give display:none

Navigation on measure heading in pivot view
i have a question that,
i want to navigate to another report if i click on column heading of measure.(for ex: region, dollars are the columns and if i select on dollars heading, need to navigate to another report specified.)
My report was developed using pivot view.
i got to know that if the column is measure, i able to navigate on column value instead of column heading & if the view is table view then i able to navigate in both the ways.
But as per my requirements i just need navigate to report by clicking on the measure heading of main report.
Can any body help in doing this.
I appreciate your help.
Thank You.Your problem is step 2. Don't use the CASE statement. You need to have the Product Types show. This will allow your 4 product types to appear as columns in Pivot Table View with their corresponding measure value. Now, with the Value Interaction set on Navigate (which you indicated you already set up) on the Product Type column, it should work.
One more thing. Normally, when using the Navigate feature, you want to filter on the value you click on. I understand that by using the CASE statement calling the column "Dollars," the Pivot Table automaticallys lumps (sums) the individual product type sales into one number, which is probably what you want to see. If you don't use the "Is Prompted" on the destination report, then you in effect, have the same result as having one column called "Dollars." What you wanted was to click on Dollars and navigate to your destination report. But if you don't put the "Is Prompted" on any column in the destination report, then essentially any product type value you click on will take you to the same report without any further filtering by the product type selected.
Unfortunately, when using the CASE statement and combining the columns, the navigate feature doesn't work in the Pivot Table View. This is not the only feature that works in Table View, but not in Pivot Table View (e.g., conditional formatting based on another column)*.
*There is a work-around for this, though... :) -
ADF pivot table header cell iteration
Hi All,
I am working on a program where I want to pass the header cells separated by "|" to the analysis server.
for example:
||Fiscal|FPB|Projected Sales||KAV|Projected Sales||KCT|Projected Sales||KSA|Projected Sales||All Products|Projected Sales|
This should be result of a pivot table where Fiscal is on column layout and crossjoin of Product(FPB, KAV,KCT, ALL) and Measure(Projected Sales) on row layout.
Is it possible?
Thanks.Hi,
according to the documentation, this should not be the case. As you can see, the documentation explicitly calls toString() for the string representation: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28389_01/web.1111/b31973/dv_crosstab.htm#CHDGCBIG . You can narrow down the problem by using the default cell format and see what this returns
