Pix or Flix Spam Messages???

I keep getting messages starting with "You've got a PIX or FLIX message!  To see it, visit..."  Since so many other people are having this issue and I have not been able to locate this type of message on 'My Verizon', I believe something is seriously wrong at Verizon.  I want these to STOP!!  I've read several forums and someone has suggested to block messages from your own number to fix, but this is not acceptable to me.  All I've seen from Verizon support is apologies or instructions on how to retrieve a PIX or FLIX message on 'My Verizon'. What I really want is for Verizon to acknowledge this is an issue and tell us they are working on a fix.

I agree - I keep getting these as well and I want them to stop as well.

I Have the bright side phone.  Since last night I've received 4 text messages from Home stating I have a Pix or Flix message.  To view visit www.vzw.com/newpix-flix-message from an Internet accessible computer.  I have not sent any pictures or messages recently from my phone and not to myself.  I received one at 3:00 this morning.  Where are these texts coming from and how do i get them  to stop?

        Lutton,
Fantastic question! I can certainly understand your frustration with receiving unknown messages. Let's get this resolved. What device do you have? If you have device that is unable to receive picture messages, when someone sends you a picture message the message will go to pix place. You will need to log in at the link provided in the text message or MyVerizon http://bit.ly/xB4iTc to retrieve the picture. Hope this helps!

  • "You've got a PIX or FLIX message!  To see it, visit..."

On my Droid Charge, for a year and a half pictures in a message came through just fine, and I could send pictures as an attachment, no problem.
Starting several months ago, I can no longer send pictures, and when one is incoming I get the  "You've got a PIX or FLIX message!  To see it, visit..." .
I go there, it makes me sign in.  Then I get this...
Sorry, it appears you do not have an active account.

Free cloud storage is already active, there is no "way out "button. <Cancel> exits, <Reset> removes changes, and <NEXT>  is grayed out.
So that's as far as I can get. nothing in your "Support" pages addressed this. The other people reporting if seem to get no real reply.
If I can't get it working by next week I'm going to a different phone company.

I can understand why you're NotSoHappyRightNow and I'm here to help! It sounds like your account may not be provisioned correctly for picture messages. This can normally be resolved easily and doesn't involve buying a new phone and switching companies. Let's first check and few things on the phone. Reboot if you haven't already. Clear out old message threads. Try sending yourself a picture message to see if it sends and receives. If still having issues, respond to my follow request and send me a private message so that I can review your account.

  • "you have a PIX or FLIX message"  How do I retrieve this?

The reply below was in response to the same problem I'm having.  My phone isn't video capable so I got the message to go to vzwpix.com but I'm directed to the main VerizonWireless site.  From there I sign in and go to Picture & Video Messaging and I do as posted but there are no messages, in  fact there is no InBox.  There are only  Drafts and Sent folders.   When I click on Messages there is nothing.  When I click on the InBox tab (under the Messaging tab at the top of the page) I get a notice that I need to Sync and Connect but I don't have email accounts with either of the 4 listed.  Is this why I can't access the video, because I can't complete the Sync and Connect??

Try following these steps and let me know if this works or if this is exactly what you've tried already:
If you've received PIX/FLIX Message; go to www.verizonwireless.com/picture from any computer with internet access and follow the instructions. Access the URL web address via your PC to view the picture/video message. If you're a first time Pix Place user the received message(s)can be found under the left menu Navigation under Messages > then Inbox. These are temporary in nature and are only available for seven days after receipt. You can move these messages to a permanent gallery and either go against the free 75 message storage or just be stored, if you’re signed up for unlimited storage.

    Hello Diane_0225,
May I ask have you registered for My Verizon before you received a notification on your phone? If so, then it may be a website issue. If not, then it may not have saved to the website. May I have you have the sender resend the video now that you are registered & see if the issue persist? I'm sorry to report that the original video may not have saved.

  • How to view PIX or FLIX online

How do you view a pix of flix online that I received on my blackberry (since my blackberry does not have the capability to see it on the phone)?
I followed the instructions given to other community questions on this, but they don't work and I cannot get to the PIX.  Is there a block if you are only an account member and not a manager or owner?

No, it does not help.  I get a pop-up from My Verizon that stars with “Sorry, it appears you do not have an active account.”  And goes on with:  “New Multimedia Messaging accounts are unable to be created because the service is being upgraded to Backup Assistant Plus ….”
And then goes on to asking me to activate something on the cloud where if it appears that if I go over 500 MB I will start getting charged (which I cannot do since I am an account member, not manager or owner).
How can I get to my pix without all this additional activation (I already have an account and this appears to be the only feature I can’t use through the website)?

  • I received a spam message from my iCloud email to my hotmail account - what gives?

So I have my Hotmail email and iCloud (@me.com) account on my iPhone. Suddenly today, I received an email from my @me.com account - to my Hotmail account - this is very odd as I rarely-to-never use my iCloud email account. So I have a feeling either A. it was a genuine security breach or B. it's some weird hoax.
Yes, I know many people spam with names that look similar etc - but I've checked the message headers - and they appear like a legitimate message. Also, I replied to the message - and received it in my @me.com account. I'm not some n00b who calls the help desk - but was wondering if anyone else had this issue today...

Hi, I have a problem that I receive lots of Spam messages from my office, I cannot bar the spam text from service provider due to official constrain.
I just want to know if there is any mechanisme where i can bar the message from a specific sender. I know there are some apps like Iblacklist available but we do not find it in any Iphone which is not jailbreak. I was just thinking of developing some code for it.

No. You can't. Filtering would have to be done at the server level.

  • Is it possible to disable New Message sound for SPAM messages?

I inherited a role email account which receives an incredible amount of spam. Mail's SPAM filters do a good job or routing these messages to the SPAM box and keeping them out of my inbox, but I still receive a "New Message" sound notification every time a new SPAM message arrives. Is it possible to disable the "New Message" sound alert for SPAM messages while still receiving the alert for new messages that arrive in my inbox?
    Thanks,
    jason

    Try this:
Go into Preferences -> General and uncheck the box that says "Play sounds for other mail actions".
I'm not sure if it will work since that's really still "new" mail, but it might be worth trying.

  • Spam messages sent to my contacts, no devices on, changed password and no viruses or malware.

Hi Skype Support and Community, this is the second time this is happened and i have followed all the advice in the support forums... I need someone to let me know is there anything else i should to do to fix this or is this a skype issue... Is it worth making a new account? Regard md

I just woke up to this happening to me as well, I'm good about not clicking links but I guess it happened :c I ended up changing my password after running a few virus scans (which picked up nothing :c) to something much harder, apparently my old one was super easy to guess. All the spam messages were sent at 7:30AM, I wasn't even awake, I got woken up to 40 twitter messages saying to change my password lol.

  • Itune started to spam messages telling I'm moving applications

I recently added a lot of song from old CDs on Itune and it all went good but each time i lauch a song itune starts to spam messages telling if I want to replace an existing application by the one I'm moving. The problem is I have A LOT of applications and every time a lauch a song itune send me 1 message for every app. It just spams is and I'm obligated to close them all if i want to click on itune window.

    Lois,
    Welcome to the Discussions.
I have experienced this, but only with a few messages, and I have not chased it sufficiently to find the cause. If you have more than one account, is this happening with all of the accounts, or only one? Are all accounts POP, or are some other types?

  • Spam messages and install a program to hear voice ...

Is anybody else getting spam messages over and over even if you have "blocked" and reported it as "Spam"?  This morning I got another "same message" from v2098195567946.  It is just one of many similar names from someone sending a Voice Message telling me to install a program.  I get these over and over.  Can't someone at Skype stop these spam messages?  "Automated notification.... new video message recieved...  to view video messages, install video player at viewin.com".
Yeah, right.  Like I am about to install a program from that.  Anybody else getting these?

yes I also am receiving these

  • Is anyone else receiving LinkedIn spam messages?

I am not even on LinkedIn, and yet I received two strange messages yesterday and today.  One message says for me to stop sending spam messages for my business.  As I said, I am not even a member of LinkedIn.  Do you suppose someone I know, who has my email, has been affected by malware, and their contacts are being used fictiously?  How do I make this stop?

I have two .mac addresses and as I said above, am a member of LnkedIn, but have not received any spam, so I doubt it's Apple's fault.

  • Trouble deleting a spam message on 3GS

I have received a spam message on my 3GS. It does not have a delete button next to it. How can I delete it? How dangerous is it?

Swipe to the right on the email to reveal the Delete button., same as any other email you want to delete.
The email won't do anything. Just don't click on links in it, or buy whatever they're trying to sell you.

  • Synergyc spamming messages.log

Just wanted to let you guy's know that if you follow the instructions on the archwiki for autostarting the synergy client using the /etc/rc.d/synergyc file, then you may want to edit the line that calls synergy to include "-d WARNING". This way only messages with level "WARNING" and above get added to messages.log.
    Example spam messages:
May 26 22:30:46 localhost Synergy 1.4.6: 2012-05-26T22:30:46 INFO: entering screen
            /build/src/synergy-1.4.6-Source/src/lib/synergy/CScreen.cpp,103
May 26 22:30:47 localhost Synergy 1.4.6: 2012-05-26T22:30:47 INFO: leaving screen
            /build/src/synergy-1.4.6-Source/src/lib/synergy/CScreen.cpp,121
    Example /etc/rc.d/synergyc
    #!/bin/bash
    . /etc/rc.conf
    . /etc/rc.d/functions
#Put the server host name in the following line
    SERVERALIAS="server-host-name"
    PID=`pidof -o %PPID /usr/bin/synergyc`
    case "$1" in
    start)
    stat_busy "Starting Synergy Client"
    [ -z "$PID" ] && /usr/bin/synergyc -d WARNING "$SERVERALIAS"
    if [ $? -gt 0 ]; then
    stat_fail
    else
    /usr/bin/xset r on
    add_daemon synergyc
    stat_done
    fi
    stop)
    stat_busy "Stopping Synergy Client"
    [ ! -z "$PID" ] && kill -9 $PID
    if [ $? -gt 0 ]; then
    stat_fail
    else
    rm_daemon synergyc
    stat_done
    fi
    restart)
    $0 stop
    sleep 1
    $0 start
    echo "usage: $0 {start|stop|restart}"
    esac
    exit 0
This is useful so that your messages.log isn't full of unimportant stuff if you're trying to debug other problems, also reduces the overall number of reads and writes which may be good for people running on SSDs (though the var directory should probably be put on a different HDD if possible in that case).

    Awesome, I just did that.

  • Overload of the same spam messages

The verizon spam filter is the worst!  For months now, I keep getting the same spam messages.  i have forwarded them to the Verizon spam email address and move them to the spam folder.  NOTHING WORKS!
How do I stop this?  Ready to cancel Verizon completely.  Had enough.........
    HELP!

The same thing has been happening to me.  I've had Verizon for over 10 years and have never had a problem.  In the past 6 months I've had spam meesages every night, except for a few, and now it's worse than ever, all day and night.  In the past 36 hours I've gotten 31 spam messages.  Whenever I call or live chat they give me the same lame solutions.  They tell me to create filters and act like their spam detector is working.  They also talk to the "email" department who says the same.  I just got off of the phone with them now and again to no avail.
I believe that this is Verizon's attempt to get people off of their email service.  Many people nowadays have gmail, hotmail, etc. accounts and Verizon sees shutting down email as a great way to save money and maximize profits.  About 5 years ago they got rid rid of Usenet access, earlier this year personal web space, I believe the next thing will be email.  Give it another 2 - 3 years, maybe less.  I also think that Verizon employees know this and the fact that there is lack of support for spam filtering.
