Pixel Bender Photoshop Plug In - Display Name

Well, I defined a Parameter in a Graph this way:
<!-- Graph parameters -->
    <parameter type = "float" name = "Radius" >
    <metadata name = "defaultValue" type = "float" value = "2.0"/>
    <metadata name = "maxValue" type = "float" value = "8.0" />
    <metadata name = "minValue" type = "float" value = "1.0" />
    <metadata name = "displayName" value = "Blur Radius" />
    </parameter>
I used the "displayName" metadata so Photoshop will display a more understandable Parameter name.
However, Photoshop won't display the name in this Metadata. It displays the Parameter name which limited (No Spaces etc...).
How can I display one name in the Slider under Photoshop and another name for the variable name within the Graph?
Thanks.

  • Installation Issues Pixel Bender Photoshop Cs5

    I have read previous threads with the same issues installing Pixel Bender in PH SC5.
    I have Windows 7 and I have Photoshop CS5 Extended and I also keep getting the error message of not having permission to install the software.
    I am not computer friendly so perhaps I need more simple instructions to get this to work.  So I understand I have to right click on Adobe Extension Mananger 5 to run as administrator.  Does that mean I fist have to download Adobe Extension Manger 5, open the zip file and click on the SET UP folder?
    Then download the pixelbender plug-in AND WHAT?  I went this route and double clicked on the plug in which opens Adobe Mananger 5 which again tells me I have no permission to run it.
    Please be as simple as possible and step by step, apparently this is an issue with a few other people.
    Thank you for your help!

  • Where´s Pixel Bender Photoshop CS4 Plugin?

    Hi,
    Some days ago I published a Photoshop tutorial about creating fractals with Fractal Explorer (a Pixel Bender filter).
    At that time, at the Pixel Bender page there was a link to Pixel Bender Plugin for Photoshop CS4 under Archived Downloads.
    Now, that page was redesigned and that link is no longer there.
    Many of my visitors own CS4 and need to download that version.
    Can anybody help me locate a link to Pixel Bender Plugin for Photoshop CS4?
    Thanks!

    I'm new to using Pixel Bender. I've opened an image and am trying to apply the filter but keeping getting the message that it can't process it due to insufficient memory (RAM). I've tried resizing the image down considerably, but still get the same message. I am using and iMac with the following profile. Can someone help me understand what I need to do to use Pixel Bender? Thanks.

    That error tends to be a bit of a catch-all error sadly so it does not necessarily mean you are running out of memory. I would expect the Pixel Bender plugin to work reliably on your graphics card. What are the dimensions, in pixels, of the images you are processing? Please create a 512x512 pixel image and try processing it in the Pixel Bender plugin.

  • Pixel Bender\Extension Manager Permission Question in Windows 7

    I recently migrated to Windows 7 (64Bit) and am using CS4.
    I tried to install the Pixel Bender 64Bit plug-in I downloaded but always get a message in Adobe Extension Manager that reads:
    "You do not have the appropriate permissions required to perform this operation. Contact your system administrator to obtain permission."
    I am my own administrator so I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. I know there are issues between Adobe and Microsoft but like with Acrobat isn't there a "by-pass" until things are sorted out?
    Pixel Bender worked fine under Windows XP 32Bit.
    I'd appreciate any gudance.
    Thanks.
    Respectfully,
    BAZ

    Right click on the extension manager shortcut and choose Run as Adminstrator
    and then navigate to the pixel bender installer from within the extension manager
    to install the pixel bender plugin.

  • How do I use Pixel Bender effects?

    So I've installed the Pixel Bender Toolkit. How do I use .pbk effects in After Effects CS4?

    Mylenium is right. You work with effect plug-ins written with Pixel Bender the same way that you work with effect plug-ins written in C/C++. All of the information that you need should be in the
    "Plug-ins" section of After Effects Help. In the comments of that section, there are some links to Tom Beddard's site, where he has some great examples of Pixel Bender effect plug-ins. Tom gives detailed instructions about installing his Pixel Bender effect plug-ins, if you really want to see it laid out step by step.

  • Pixel Bender Gallery Error in Photoshop CS4 Student Edition

    When trying to access pixel bender filters with Photoshop CS4, filters>Pixel Bender>Pixel Bender Gallery, I get an Error dialog images as follows...
    I have read the ReadMe file and have the GeForce 8500 GT Video Card on this list.
    The Pixel Bender Toolkit is installed at C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Utilities\Pixel Bender Toolkit c/w pbk filters that run in the toolkit.
    In Photoshop there are a number of pbk filters in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS4\Pixel Bender Files.
    The Operating system for the computer is Windows XP Professional c/w service pack 2 at least.
    My question is... why am I getting this error message and how can It be fixed?

    Here are two further images and an NVIDIA System Information report you asked for that I have prepared, I hope this will help.
    I am aware that I could download trial versions of Photoshop CS5 and its Pixel plugin version, but first, this first image shows a message that loads from Photoshop CS4 when I start the program and has always done so from day one of owning the machine and the software, could this be of relevence to what could be the root of the issue at hand.
    I also use 3D Studio Max with OpenGL and have noted rotating moving objects in 3D space of a file size of 10MB is very slow and chuggie, is this relevent, does this information give any clues.
    Thankyou again for your time and effort in helping me resolve Pixel Bender Gallery Error issue.

  • Pixel bender filters in Photoshop Panel

    Hello,
    I'm writing a suite of Photoshop filters with PixelBender and would like to know if there is a way to call them from a Photoshop Panel built with Configurator without embedding these filters in a flash panel.
    I tried to build a panel with configurator, but in the filters menu, PIXEL BENDER doesn't show. So, I guess I will have to build a flash panel which is close to Chinese for me (read http://forums.adobe.com/message/37408).
    Am I out of luck?
    Thanks!
    Enrique

    Use a 'Run JavaScript' button from ACTIONS/SCRIPTS section of Configurator.
    Then use/modify the following code:
    try{
    var idPbPl = charIDToTypeID( "PbPl" );
        var desc636 = new ActionDescriptor();
        var idKnNm = charIDToTypeID( "KnNm" );
        desc636.putString( idKnNm, "Kaleidoscope" ); /*modify the name of your pixel bender filter*/
        var idGpuY = charIDToTypeID( "GpuY" );
        desc636.putBoolean( idGpuY, true );
        var idFPth = charIDToTypeID( "FPth" );
        desc636.putString( idFPth, "/Applications/Adobe Photoshop CS4/Pixel Bender Files/kaleidoscope.pbk" ) /*modify the path to your filter*/
    executeAction( idPbPl, desc636, DialogModes.ALL );
    }catch(e){
         /* catch user cancellations */
    I have it so the default settings are populated and the Pixel Bender dialog is shown (DialogModes.ALL). You could use the scripting listener plug-in to populate specific settings and/or not show the dialog (DialogModes.NO)

  • How do I download the Pixel Bender plug-in for CS5?

    Everywhere I go on the Adobe site, I see links that say "click here to download Pixel Bender plug-in for CS5," but when I click on the link, it takes me to this page:
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet/pixelbender.html
    That page has "archived" downloads for the CS4 plug-in, but not CS5. I also tried using the toolkit, but that looks like a programing language. I just want the plug-in that works with photoshop. I did find one site,
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Plugins/Adobe-Pixel-Bender.shtml
    but it only had the windows version. I need the Mac version. Can someone help me?
