Pkgcache is NULL for db 'core' [Solved]

hello
erm.. well i updated pacman to 3.4 not too long ago ..and ran a Syu recently..
and it gave me an error "error invoking external downloader"
right..so i entered this line on the pacman.conf
XferCommand = /usr/bin/axel -a %u &o -o
and have also tried curl
XferCommand = /usr/bin/curl -C - %u > %o
Realised that the core repo db wasnt being downloaded at all..instead of downloading the $repo.db.tar.gz , it was trying todownload $repo.db
"Initializing download: http://mirror.internode.on.net/pub/arch … 64/core.db "
does anyone have any idea why ?
kinda lost here
i have
Architecture = x86_64
and have tried other repos  with the same result ..pacman still downloads the db instead of db.tar.gz
Edit: i had tried pacman-git after pacman 3.3 before moving to pacman 3.4

  • [svn] 791: ASDocs update (trunk) -- added @productVersion tag and some @ see tags to class descriptions for mx.core.windowClasses. StatusBar and TitleBar.

    Revision: 791
    Author: [email protected]
    Date: 2008-03-12 13:11:30 -0700 (Wed, 12 Mar 2008)
    Log Message:
    ASDocs update (trunk) -- added @productVersion tag and some @see tags to class descriptions for mx.core.windowClasses.StatusBar and TitleBar. These fixes have already been made in the published livedocs source.
    Modified Paths:
    flex/sdk/trunk/frameworks/projects/airframework/src/mx/core/windowClasses/StatusBar.as
    flex/sdk/trunk/frameworks/projects/airframework/src/mx/core/windowClasses/TitleBar.as

    solved by myself.
    also if there's port 8084 configured on server properties, jboss start using 8080 (maybe i've done some error while registering jboss, i dunno but i'm a newbye of eclipse). So changing port to 8080 in server properties for jboss solve the problem.

  • Portlet bindings are null for portlet component portlet1

    I have 2 simple portlets on a Web Center page.
    I've added these at design time - the source JSPX shows
    <adfp:portlet value="#{bindings.Portlet41_1}" id="portlet1"/>
    It does not populate the required attribute portletType when I add this.
    The page definition file shows
    <portlet id="Portlet41_1"
    portletInstance="/oracle/adf/portlet/MyPortlets/ap/Enportlet4default_c5eb69ff_012d_1000_8001_0a033796cd43"
    class="oracle.adf.model.portlet.binding.PortletBinding"
    retainPortletHeader="false"
    xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/portlet/bindings"/>
    But at runtime, the page throws this exception
    <WCS-39264> <Portlet bindings are null for portlet component portlet1.>
    Am I missing an entry in any file?

    Yannick - I have tried that exact sequence you've described. This is as per the tutorial.
    It works intermittently when added via Design time - on some occasions - it gives the "Portlet bindings are null for portlet component portlet1" error. Other times, it shows the Hello World correctly.
    When I see the error on screen, there is no stacktrace in the logs. I restart and it may (or may not) go away. Sorry - I dont have more pinpoint info than this.
    My code is as in the first post - dragged and dropped ADFportlet from WSRP Producer, and the basic bindings were generated.
    Now if added at runtime - it shows me the correct portlets via the Resource Catalog.
    When I try to add, it just hangs for a very long time, without adding the portlet into the PanelCustomizable.
    It adds other ADF components like Textbox properly
    If I try Adding the portlet, or Adding a box below the panel or any operations more than once it gives this error
    <00e884cc3b492be0:702f695:12dcc9dc37d:-8000-0000000000000197> <1296219641236> <BEA-000000> <Server Exception during PPR, #1

Is one method truly better than the other or should we just pick one and write our queries accordingly.

    Not trying to be the devil's advocate, as I agree on using nulls to represent unknown values, still some authors like CJ Date and others say that using nulls should be avoided. Much of that is based on relational theory though, and in practical real life it becomes much harder to make your data model (and your application) null-proof. Better live with it in my opinion, since SQL and relational databases rely on it. One just has to know how to deal with null properly.

  • Why "null" value is impossible in "switch(val) {case null: }"  for enums?

    I'm wondering why Java 5.0 does not allow null values
    as options in switch statement:
    If type E is "enum" then the following language construction is
    not allowed:
    E val;
    switch(val) {
       case A:
         break;
       case B:
           break;
       case null:   // this is not allowed
            break;
    }Can somebody explain me why Java does not support it? I beleave that
    some serious reasons were for that.
    As we know enum types can have "null" values and in case I use nulls
    for my enumerations the code with "switch" statement becomes quite urgly because it is necessary to handle 2 separate execution paths:
    null and not null.
    Thanks

    I really dont know too much about 1.5, but I can tell you that for 1.4 the switch receives as a parameter an int or anything that can be casted automatically to an int. Therefore you cant never use null cause int, char, short, byte cant never take as a value null.

    I connected my sons Ipod Touch to my pc and it worked fine. Now, when I try to connect my iPad the following message comes up: One of the usb devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message.
    I checked the cable. It surely is not the cable. If I connect the iPod again it works fine. If I use the same cable with my pc and ipad at work or my other son’s laptop, it is working perfectly. It is only on my laptop where the iPod was connected. Something tells me it got something to do with the drivers that went corrupt or something when I connected the iPod.
    I searched the internet and I see a lot of people gets this message. Still no solved answers yet. Is there a place where I can download the drivers again or any other suggestions?
    Windows 7 and iPad 2
    Kind regards,

    I was hoping it would be something like a USB device conflict, but now the shuffle is the only thing connected...

    Under Part 9. Verify that USB drivers are installed, did you try the steps in If only "Unknown Device" appears?  That appears to be your situation.
    Also, you said that the shuffle initially worked well enough to do a sync, then it had the same problem again.  If you can get it to work again initially, before doing anything else, try the following.  Select the shuffle in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES.  Over to the right, go to the Summary tab.  By default, the checkbox for Enable disk use should be unchecked.  If so, check it and Apply the change.  See if that makes any difference.
    (If Enable disk use was already checked, try unchecking it and Apply the change.  Basically, set it the "other way" and see if there is any improvement.)
    NOTE:  When disk use is enabled, you have to eject the iPod in iTunes before disconnecting it physically.
    If the disk use change makes a difference, that may provide a clue about the actual cause.

    We have 11.5.10 ERP system for production use. But FND_PRODUCT_INSTALLATIONS TEMPORARY_TABLESPACE IS NULL FOR CUSTOM MODULE. All seeded modules are using TEMP.
    What are the ramifications for this.
    We have 'Change control' process in place. We can not update the table on fly. We need proper justification.
    Please help me understand, how this table drives Oracle applications and its performance.
    Thanks you all. in advance.

    I agree with Hussein - we have several custom schemas that are registered in FND_PRODUCT_INSTALLATIONS, some of which have the tablespace info correctly filled out while others do not. All of our customizations in all these custom schemas are working as expected. So if your customizations are working as expected, I would not worry too much about it.

    Hi,
    If agent is installed on the VMM server, it will collect the information and send it to SCOM server. The event indicates the SCOM agent tried to access the registry key that was included in the User Profile but failed.
    Please specify a local account or domain account as the SCOM action account for a test.

  • Is Logic 8 not optimized for dual core processing duties ?

    Running MacBook Pro 2.4 ghz, 2 gig Ram 200 gig HD external eSATA or FW 800. No other apps running.
    I am consistently seeing Logic 8 use ALL of the first core and barely tough the other - sometimes freezing up - saying that the CPU(s?) can not handle the audio. Why do I not see the other core "bailing water" for the first core ? Isn't this the purpose of dual core ?. It is like one guy is lifting a 150lb sac and his partner is sitting there eating lunch - and the "team"'s efforts fail.
    Is Logic itself not optimized for dual core processing duties ?

    I get beachballs just logging in. No apps - then Safari is also very buggy. I have had to "pull the battery out" more times than I would like to recount.
    That sounds very suspect, like there is something wrong with the hardware or your OS install. I have a MBP 2.33 and have none of the Logic or other system problems you describe. Have you looked at your System Profiler to make sure both sticks of Ram are being recognized? If one stick is bad and you're only utilizing 1 gig, that would cause slow downs and spiny beachball with Leopard and with Logic. Try running hardware test from your system disks, and also try running Rember, a small app that will run a series of read/write tests on the Ram, incase one stick has a bad sector.
    If that comes up with nothing, I'd try setting up a new user, logging in to that user, and seeing if you're having the same slow down problems with Leopard, Safari, Logic, etc. If not, then you have some corrupt files in your User system somewhere. Whether that works or not, the next step would be to back up all of your data and do an Erase and Install.
    Finally, if you have specific problems that you can recreate, you could also take the machine to Apple if you still have a warranty, and perhaps they can figure out your performance issues.
    Good Luck!

  • 64-bit and Support for Multi-Core Computers

    I recently bought one of the new 12-core Mac Pro's from Apple, but was disappointed to see the lack of 64-bit support and optimization for multi-core computers within InDesign. When producing magazines with hundreds of pages and hundreds of fonts, the need for multi-core support and 64-bit processing are vital.
    Can anyone at Adobe confirm that they will implement this in CS6? It's long overdue.

    InDesign is a really complicated program. 64 bit support is of marginal use of InDesign. It would be faster (as is the case using ID Server 64 bit on Windows), but I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make for the average desktop user.
    Adobe has done a lot of multi-threading work under the hood for CS5 (and pdf export is one of the first fruits of that). What further support they might add for CS+, is anyones guess, but it'll be easier now that a lot of the preliminary work is done. Each feature would be a separate effort, so if there's something SPECIFIC you'd like to see multi-threaded, I suggest you write that in a feature request. The more detailed you can be about it, the better!

  • Getnode returned null for uri error for caldav server

    Hello,
    I am trying to install the Oracle UCS ( SUN 7 update 2 ) server.
    https://wikis.oracle.com/display/CommSuite7U2/Communications+Suite+on+a+Single+Host+%28Linux%29#CommunicationsSuiteonaSingleHost%28Linux%29-InstallingtheExample
    So far, I have successfully:
    Checked the installation requirements
    Installed Communications Suite 7 Update 2 Software
    Installed and Configured the Directory Server
    Prepared the Directory under ( Configuring Communications Suite Components )
    Configured Delegated Administrator and Communications CLI
    Configured Messaging Server
    Configured MYSQL Server
    Configured Calendar Server
    I have just installed a caldav server. I checked that it was enabled by running:
    # asadmin list-components -p <admin-port> --type=web
    davserver <web-module>
    Command list-components executed successfully.
    # asadmin show-component-status -p <admin-port> davserver
    Status of davserver is enabled.
    Command show-component-status executed successfully.
    that was from this page:

    In Firefox, I try to hit the suggested pages under "Testing Calendar accounts". However, this errors out every time for me.

    I do not remember creating a calendar account anywhere is my first thought. I followed the example deployment step by step so far and nowhere does it have me create a calendar user account. So, maybe there is no account at this point?
    So, my first question would be:
    How can I verify that I have a calendar account to begin with? ( or is this what I am doing by trying to log into the sites suggested under 'Test Calendar Accounts').
    My next question would be:
    What does this error mean: "getnode returned null for uri error for caldav server"?
    Spin off question from that:
    What should I do to fix that error?
    Thanks in advance!

    I did not put a slash at the end of the uris I was testing

    http://myDomain.com:80/davserver/dav/h/myDomain/myUserName/calendar
    Once I put the slash at the end of the uri, the configuration page appeared and the error was not displayed about getNode anymore:
