I just bought Iphoto 09 for the places function, i have a sony ericcson W995 with gps, i installed and did the scan on my pics, it has marked about 10 photos out of approx 1000 that are definetly tagged, it has marked photos and then not marked photos taken a few minutes later in the same place? I have tryed to rescan and my setting is look up photos automatically please help!

What exactly did you do here? If the GPS data is correctly included in your photo then there is no scan or other operation to process GPS data

Again please describe exactly what you are doing
And load some photos from your camera to the desktop and look at them with something like EXIF viewer - http://homepage.mac.com/aozer/EV/ - and see what GPS data is there
If photos with correct GPS data in the correct format in the correct fields are imported into iPhoto and the look up places preference is set to automatic then their location will be reflected in iPhoto - nothing else to do

Blue Tooth with Sony Ericcson and iMac

I'm trying to send pictures from my Sony Ericcson to my iMac but my phone keeps saying check the other blue tooth device (iMac).
My phone is showing up on my iMac's list of blue tooth devices found and my iMac is showing up on my phone as being found as well.
However that's as far as it goes. Here is the error message that my phone keeps giving:
CHECK BLUE TOOTH SETTINGS ON OTHER DEVICE: BLUE TOOTH VISIBLE, DEVICE VISIBLE, DEVICE IN RANGE.
I'm thing the answer to each of these questions here is yes, so why won't my phone pair with my iMac?

I wasn't able to follow along because the steps from the web page you suggested did not match my osx.

How many bars on the Sony Erriccson is strong?
You do know the number of bars shown can be different with different manufacturers?
What is most important is can you place and receive calls? If so with one or two bars showing vs two or three with another cell phone is what matters since how this is registered can be different with different cell phones.

My phone broke four and a half months ago, and Sony still haven't fixed it.

In mid october my phone broke, the phones functions continued to work (calls, notifications etc.) however there is no display on my screen. I initially went through the sony repair centre number and arranged for my phone to be sent via their free post service. I did so and heard nothing back for weeks. Confused, I called them asking what was going on with the device. I was told that my phone had arrived but the "engineers" had no idea what was wrong with it, which to me was bizarre considering i was told the agent on the other end of the line when i started the repair order had written this down. I instructed them on what the issue was, which should of been immediatly obvious upon trying to turn on, and waited to hear from them again, which I didnt. So a week later I called back to be told that my phone had infact never arrived, again confused I asked how that was the case when i was told it had arrived the previous week, the agent replied telling me that there must of been a mistake and told me i needed to find poof of me sending the phone, something that would have been very difficult given that they use a freepost system which simply requires me to hand the box over at the post office. So i tried in vain to find proof of postage and when calling them back I was told they had infact found my phone and that i was being put through to another agent who could handle my issue. literally as soon as i spoke to this guy he told me he didnt know anything about my phone and that he would put me through to the repair shop it had been sent to. eventually i got back to this shop to be told they were waiting on parts but that it would be finished after christmas, (yep thats how long this has taken so far, pretty impressive for a service that promises a 7 day turnaround) so I waited until eventually this padded envelope comes through my door. I plug the phone in to find that the work has not been done at all, and the issue remains. Honestly it was as if they hadnt even touched it. So i called up, infuriated, to be told that they were "terribly sorry" and that "they will send this to the escalation team as a priority issue". So i waited to hear from the escalation team, and i waited, and i waited until eventually i called again to be told no such escalation had been made, furious i demanded to know what on earth was going on, however i was promised that the matter was of top priority and that I should get a call back in the next few days. Surprise surprise i heard nothing, so i called back to demand what was going on, again, and honestly, this guy on the end of the phone was literally completely useless, trying to get anything helpful from this guy was like knitting fog. eventually i got him to give me the number of the shop it had been sent too.so i called them to find out that my phone never should have been sent there in the first place, and that they deal exclusively with software issues. So i called the repair centre up again and evntually they convinced me to send the phone off again, so i did, making sure I did everything the website told me to, print the email, send it in a padded envelope, include the charger, i even paid eight pounds for special delivery. The guy i opened the repair with told me that he was going to 'red flag' the repair and i should expect it back within 5 days...It has been three weeks. I havent recieved an e-mail or phone call from anyone about this, I called last week and I was told that they will get back to me about it. I don't like to use caps to accentuate anger, however, I AM COMPLETELY FURIOUS WITH SONY ABOUT THIS COMPLETE LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE, I have already made an official complaint with the office of trading standards and fully expect to be compensated for this. I will call again tomorrow to ascertain to what degree they have cocked up this time but on a serious note, I genuinely do not know what to do now, because my network provider are asking me to pay them for a phone i havent had for almost 5 months, I really am desperate for help, because I don't know what to do next.

Sony TV and Sony Home Theater not connecting?

Hi Experts i have got a Sony TV (70W850B) and Sony Home Theater (BDVN9200WB), connected with a high speed HDMI cable with both ARC jack, however no sounds coming out from the speakers when wacthing TV. the facts: 1) the HDMI cable is high speed HDMI cable bought recently, one end plud into the ARC out jack on the receiver and the other end into the TV HDMI 2 (ARC). 2) TV Setting - audio is set for out put as home theatre and 'Subwoofer' 3) Home theater setting - HDMI control is ON, ARC is AUTO. 4) Can auctually operate the home theatre on TV screen via HDMI input, test all speakers are working. 5) Just no sounds when turn on the TV channels or topbox etc Any ideas? You may try adding Digital Optical connection from the TV to the Home Theater System if they supports Digital Optical connection.

I have sorted out how to connect my MSI BToes Dongle to work in XP SP2 with my Sony Ericcson s700i.
Remove 'ALL' software that has anything to do with MSI Dongle and SE Suite, Reebot: When new hardware pops up 'INSTALL ONLY' "btdongle_winwp_sp2" drivers ONLY. Do NOT install "msi_bluetooth_software1.3.3.4" by any means! Load and Install SE PC Suite, Reboot and all shall work - believe me. REASON WinXP SP2 has Bluetooth sorted.

I am using BT to transfer pix to my Mac, but I tested that I can see everything with my USB cable with no problem. I noticed with Windows I see only the pictures that are in the default folder, not the ones that I created later. So maybe you should try to move them around and test to put them in your phone memory and/or the duo card. Just a suggestion..

How to Transfer contacts from Sony-Ericcson V600i to Xperia Neo V

Dear sirs,
how can i transter contacts etc from my old Sony-Ericcson vodafone V600i to my new Xperia Neo V ?
Any pc trasfer will require pc suite ( wich i dont find nowhere ) and pc companion or the two software are incompatible .
I tried to connect v600i with pc companion a) by bluetooth (cant be done) and b) by usb (xp need drivers wich i can find also ) .
Any suggestions will be appreciated

Dr_Chris is correct and this should indeed work. However from my experience with the phone you have; please ensure that you have at least 5MB of free space on the phones memory before connecting or this will play havoc with the connection.

BlueTooth PAN data connection with a sony ericcson k850

I have a Sony Ericcson k850i that I have used flawlessly to connect to the net on my Macpro. I just added a little macbook 13 to the family and I cannot get it to jump onto the phones internet data stream. I have restarted the computer, restarted the phone, resync'd the phone in the bluetooth window 3 times, rediscovered the phone 2 times, opened up the network panel in the system and tried the bluetooth connect button and it will not connect to the internet.
I can browse the phone files from the local bluetooth connection, but I cannot get on the internet. I don't really remember having to set up anything special on the macpro. This computer is stumping me.
Any ideas?
The latest I have found is I can be connected to the phone via bluetooth but the phone will not have the PAN working.

Long story short. I had to keep adding a new bluetooth PAN connection in the network window. Not sure what fixed the problem but it works again and I am thrilled!!!

I have no idea about the Sony car kit, but would warn you that it is not properly compatible with the recommended Nokia kit which is the CK-20W....so you should think hard before using this as a solution if the Sony kit does not work. My problems are mainly around voice dialling with the car kit - it didn't work at all with FW 10 or 11, worked after a fashion with 12, have just installed 20 and now it does not work at all again. CarphoneWarehouse are currently trying to downgrade the firmware back to 12, but I have no confidence that they'll do it. The really annoying thing is that there seems to be no documentation about what each new FW version introduces, and no way of getting a human being at either Nokia or CarphoneWarehouse to really take responsibility and give me the confidence that Nokia are even trying to fix the problem.

How-to install a self-signed certificate on Sony Ericcson W350

I am a developer and I am writing a j2me application for a Sony Ericcson W350 phone which needs to be able to use the phones SMS capabilities. I have a signed .jar and .jad file with a self-signed certificate. However, the phone is still treating my application as an untrusted third party app. I think this is occuring because my self-signed certificate isn't in the java certificate store on the phone. Is there a way to load my self-signed certificate into the java certificate store? I have tried copying it over to the phone via bluetooth and usb and installing it through the filesystem, however there isn't an option to install the certificate when browsing to it from the phone's filesystem. Any help would be much appricated.

Deactivating existing Java certificates prevented me from installing the .jad file. I accessed the phone's file system using both Sony PC Companion with USB and using the OS file browser over bluetooth.

I removed my battery in an attempt to insert a SIM card, obviously without knowing how to insert the SIM card. I put the battery back into place and it was already charged 100%, but it's stuck in recovery mode. I've already restored it, but it won't boot.

I was trying to insert a SIM card into my iPhone 4 without actually knowing how to do so. I assumed that I was to remove the back of the phone and find a slot for it near the battery. I removed the battery in an attempt to find a SIM slot, and was obviously unsuccessful. I put the battery back into place and screwed the phone back plate back on. Note: the battery was fully charged and the iPhone was working perfectly fine before. After screwing the iPhone back into place properly, I thought, I attempted to cut the phone on and it would not do so. I put it back on the charger, and the screen came up that says "Connect to iTunes". I obviously couldn't do so if its plugged into the wall. I plugged into the computer, connected it to iTunes, went through the Recovery mode process, and it still won't turn on. The computer says that the iPhone is in Recovery mode, but iTunes can't do anything because it has already been restored. When I disconnect it from the computer, I hold all buttons in all possible combinations, but it won't turn on at all. When I plug it into the wall, it again says to connect to iTunes. I don't know if I damaged the battery or any part within the iPhone, but I was sensitive in my approach to removing the battery and putting it back in, and there is no visible damage whatsoever. I am extremely frustrated and in desperate need of Apple-Pro help.

do you have a cdma iphone 4? becauase cdma iphones dont have a sim card slot... the providers that use cdma technology here in the us would be verizion, sprint, criket, ect... if you want to use your iphone 4 on att or tmobile (gsm carriers). then you would need a gsm iphone 4 (has sim card slot). a gsm iphone 4 is different than a cdma iphone 4 (they have different radio chips). maby you missed the sim card slot? sim card slot would be on the side of the phone.. never inside (unless it has a removable back cover like the galaxy s3 or s4), if you dont see a sim card slot on the side of the phone than you have a cmda iphone 4. can you tell me what carrier you are trying to use?

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Post for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
