Placing Text into the iOS's Clipboard
I'd like to be able to copy some text to the iPad clipboard in my app, exit the app, and then paste the copied text into the Native iPad "Notes" application. I can't seem to get my copied text into the iPad's system clipboard though. It doesn't seem to carry over after I exit my app (or maybe it is neveer getting there in the first place, can't tell).
I've tried this:
System.setClipboard(myData);
And this:
Clipboard.generalClipboard.setData(ClipboardFormats.TEXT_FORMAT, myData);
Any suggestions?
I don't have any specific experience with doing this in PFI, but in the Flash Player plugin, don't these calls have to take place in the event handler of a user event like click or key press? Did you try calling it from an event handler?

after recording text using the Dragon dictation app, it can be copied to the iOS systme clipboard for use in any app, how does the user access the clipboard to retrive this information if it is no longer on the screen?
You need to do a long-press in any data entry field, then select Paste.

I have difficulty pasting text into the file name field (prefix only) while saving files. example: File name is Pic123.jpg and I want to rename it ABC123.jpg and I have ABC loaded into the WinXPsp3 clipboard. When I highlight\right-click\delete "Pic" then attempt to paste the ABC, I get either no reaction, or upon multiple paste attempts, the ABC is appended to the end of the file, after the extension, as "Pic123.jpgABC". If I delete this unwanted suffix, or repeat the process several times, eventually I can delete the unwanted portion of the prefix and paste the desired text. Sometimes it works fine first try, but mostly it takes several tries. I'm using Firefox 3.6.3 but the problem existed in whatever previous version I had too. This issue only occurs when using the delete/paste; I can always manually change the name by typing. A possible cause is that the server sends a wrong response header.
The server may not comply to RFC 5987 and sends a wrong Content-Disposition:attachment; filename header.

How Do I Wrap Text Like the iOS Camera App?
Hello. I am in yearbook, and I have been challenged with designing the cover of the yearbook, and I have been having a few problems along the way. One of these problems is to wrap text. Specifically, I'm stuck on how I would wrap text like the iOS camera app on the bottom of the screen. The words seem like they are wrap around a 3D object to give it that effect, but I can't really tell. If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

Well...there's Photoshop Touch and Photoshop Mix as well as Lightroom Mobile. It could be argued that they're don't exactly mirror their desktop cousins, yes, but they weren't meant to be. They were meant as extensions to the desktop experience. (e.g., Lightroom Mobile lets one work with the RAW images they have in their Lightroom desktop collections.)
The more powerful Windows tablets can run Photoshop desktop (like Photoshop CC) too.
@bluebocat: Are you looking for text with a perspective? Like it has a vanishing point? As if it was turned in a certain direction in 3D space? -
I have tried to look at reasons as to why this happens but i cannot find anything. If i type it in manually it works perfectly fine. The copying and pasting of text into the name of the file freezes and crashes the window i am in

Please let me know what type of file are you trying to print to PDF.
Is Adobe Acrobat installed on your system? What version?
Try doing the same with some other file and check if the same thing happens.

Just thought I'd add my solution, I decided to go with WebDAV and I think it actually works better than the iTunes way, the steps are pretty much the same but avoiding the iTunes interface just makes things easier and faster.
I followed this guide but it does have a small mistake in the httpd-dav.conf file, on line 2, where it's WebServer/WebDAV">, it should be <Directory "/Library/WebServer/WebDAV">.
The tricky part is setting permissions which if wrong will give you errors when connecting with the iPad, I opted to set all to Read&Write since my home network has a hardware firewall. Another convenience was to add an alias to the webdav share on the Desktop.
I'm still expecting the call from Apple but even if they fix the iTunes I'm sticking with WebDAV, atleast until I see what's new with iOS5 and iCloud this fall which should bring true sync for documents (I'm hoping that they will offer encryption with my own keys, if not, then I'll probably keep using WebDAV). -
I need the ability to paste a bunch of text into the subject line but for it only to capture the first 50 or x number of characters. Can I limit the size of the subject line characters somehow in an ini or profile setting?

Just started using my Mac Mail program instead of web mail. When I went to attach two pdf files, one attached as a file, the other inserted all the text into the body of the email message. How do I get it to attach both pdf's as files?
I think you're confusing two different things. If you attached PDF files and one of them displayed the PDF icon in the message window, that means it was more than one page. If you saw what appeared to be the actual document for the other PDF file, that means it's only one page and it's normal for it to display that way.
However, I seem to recall there may (or should) be a button at the bottom-right of the message window that allows you to display those files as icons, even if they're one page. If not, there's a third-party addition you can use to add that feature:

I put the files on my Hard Rive, but it still will not open the files. Do I need to go the website where I originally obtained the files. I dragged them to my desktop, but I am still doing something wrong. I appreciate your advice.

Can not change the font size in a new text into the smartforms

I have a Footer window into my smartform and I've created a new text into this one

nothing extrange.
I copied and paste a text from a word document and after that I want to change the font size to 8 and font style to Arial, but after saving the font size and styles goes back the 10 and Currier New.
Any idea?
I also tried typing the hole parragraph and I get the same issue!...

How do I import text into the Keynote Titile
I am trying to use the Keynote title in FCPX - I have "imported" the title over the picture image clip that I want to use, and that works fine, but I am having extreme difficulty in changing the text in the boxes that appear from ex TITILE to what text I want to appear. I click on the box and maybe the text appears in the Inspector and I can change it, then move to the next box - even with the Select tool in action, I clcik away at this next box and it will not select it, so cannot change the text from say INTRODUCTION to what I want.
Can anyone help me out on this - otherweise I shall abandon this title and try a different one.

I was getting really frustrated being the only one who COULDN'T figure this out... I GOT IT!!!
1. Drag the Title to your Editor
2. Place your playhead cursor over the middle-ish area of the title.
3. With the title selected, Double-Click anywhere on your preview, that will select your dropzone and give you a white-glove cursor.
4. Slide the dropzone to the opposite side of your text. (don't worry, just put it back later)
5. Click off of selected title in timeline (click in the background or another clip)
6. Re-select your title clip.
7. Now Double-Click the text you want to edit.
8. When you're finished just double-click on the dropzone area again to "white-glove" it back!
I never really contribute to message threads so, I guess it's about time I start eh?

Win 7, explorer. Cut and paste from any text source (Word, Notepad, Explorer) has the same result. As an example, In this form window I cannot paste. But, If I open a new discussion, toggle the HTML button, I can paste. . For some reason the reply form does not have the HTML button. So, it might be a Java/browser thing - something is disabled.....
I'll try Chrome and see if the same thing happens.
I can cobble around it, but I've never seen this in any other HTML form before... -
Placing Text BEHIND the application
Is there a way I can place text, such as " LOADING.... " behind the application in the HTML? The little black and gray loading bar isn't entirely obvious that it is actually loading. So i'd like to have some words there as well... but when I try and edit the Main.html file in Dreamweaver I can't seam to edit behind the Flash mov.
