Planning Book Description display in Shuffler

Is there a way to display the Planning Book description (Dp and Snp) in the shuffler of interactive planning just like it shows up for a data view ?

Hi Srinivas,
I think that you don't need a characteristic, you only want to see your planning book as a display, not as a planning characteristic.
I'm on SCM 5.0 but i cannot see the dataview description in the shuffler, if i find a way i let you know.
Regards.

    Creation of Planning Book with Reference to Standard Data View:
    Path: Administration of Demand Planning and Supply Network Planning --> Supply Network Planning -->Environment --> Current Settings  --> Define Planning Book
    Step1: Create Planning book "PB_XYZ" Data View "DV_XYZ" by copying with reference to standard book 9ASNP94, Data view SNP94(1). this also copies all macros but leaves them inactive.
    Step2: Specify newly created planning book and press Edit button.
    Step3: Select "Planning Book" tab and rename Planning Book Description (if reqd)
    Step4: Change TB Profile ID if want to display result in ur time stream.
    Step5: Select "Data View" tab rename as per ur naming convention.
    Step6: Proceed to last tab and Press Complete; confirm the save query.
    Activate Macros

  • Restriction of  Overlapping of the periods in Planning Book

    Hi Experts
    Currently we are using monthly planning for future horizon of 12 months,We want to replace monthly level planning to the weekly level.
    I am worried about the time buckets in the planning book, we cannot determine the exact forecast quantity  of the particular month when week is shared between the two months since overlapping of the time period happens.
    When i use Weekly Time buckets:
    Planning book appears like: wk1.2011-wk2.2011-wk3.2011-wk4.2011-wk5.2011-wk6.2011-wk7.2011-wk8.2011-w9.2011-wk10.2011
    T
    In the above time buckets represents the following from date to to date:
    wk1.2011 = 03.01.2011-09.01.2011
    wk2.2011 = 10.01.2011-16.01.2011
    wk3.2011 = 17.01.2011-23.01.2011
    wk4.2011 = 24.01.2011-30.01.2011
    wk5.2011 = 31.01.2011-06.02.2011
    wk6.2011 = 07.02.2011-13.02.2011
    wk7.2011 = 14.02.2011-20.02.2011
    wk8.2011 = 21.02.2011-27.02.2011
    wk9.2011 = 28.02.2011-06.03.2011
    wk10.2011 = 07.03.2011-13.03.2011
    WK5.2011 is sharing between the Jan 2011 and Feb 2011
    WK9.2011 is sharing between the Feb 2011 and Mar 2011
    But my customer requirment is as follows:
    03.01.2011-09.01.2011/10.01.2011-16.01.2011/17.01.2011-23.01.2011/24.01.2011-30.01.2011/31.01.2011-31.01.2011/01.02.2011-06.02.2011/07.02.2011-13.02.2011/14.02.2011-20.02.2011/21.02.2011-27.02.2011/28.02.2011-28.02.2011/01.03.2011-06.03.2011/07.03.2011-13.03.2011
    If the week is sharing between the two months, there should be two columns to separate the week by month days.
    How to achieve this ?
    Thanks
    Kanth

    Thomas
    Respectfully disagree that Days is necessarily required in the storage bucket profile. Even without Days, as long as both Week and Month are selected, the system will automatically split quantities into technical periods and allow planning books to display data by week or month (But not day).
    From SAP Help :
    You select the periodicities month and week in the storage buckets profile.Data for the months of June and July 2001 is stored in the following buckets, also known as technical periods.
    June 1-3               3 days
    June 4-10             7 days
    June 11-17           7 days
    June 18-24           7 days
    June 25-30           6 days
    July 1                   1 day
    July 2-8                7 days
    July 9-15             7 days
    July 16-22            7 days
    July 23-29            7 days
    July 30-31            2 days
    Of course, it would work if days is included as well, but it would unneccarily increase Livecache Sizing requirements. Again from SAP Help:
    Include in the storage buckets profile only the periodicities you need because the technical periods take up storage space. On the other hand, you must include all the periodicities in which you intend to plan.

  • Holidays in Planning books

    Hi,
    In our Demand Planning scenario, our horizon is for one month with daily buckets. Sales person gives demand on daily basis.
    Grateful, if somebody suggest me on how to make planning book columns display only for holidays (sales person will not be able to enter demand in planning book on holidays).
    Thanks & Regards,
    SP

    not sure if you want this in a DP or SNP book... and i assume you have a daily bucket in your planning book/data view
    you can use calendars in a location in SNP and in DP you need to set up a factory calendar in the time stream id for the storage bucket profile. this factory calendar will have the Holiday calendar in it
    after this you can use one of the two macros to determine the work days in the bucket. you apply this to your daily bucket and save the value (say, WDAY) returned for work days = 0 or 1
    BUCKET_WDAYS( <calendar> ; X1 ; ... ; Xn) returns the number of workdays in the periods given by the cell(s), row(s), and/or column(s) (not areas) X1 through Xn. In the attributes of the argument elements, you must specify Period data as the data source. The specification of a calendar as the first argument is optional. If you do not specify a calendar, the system reads the calendar given by the time stream in the storage buckets profile. If no time stream is defined, the system uses calendar days
    CALENDAR_WDAYS( ‘calendar’ ; from date ; <to date> ) returns the number of workdays between the from-date and the to-date in the calendar specified. The calendar is the timestream ID.
    then if WDAY = 0
    use Column_input( 0 ) to make the columns display only
    else keep it open

  • SNP Planning book - Shuffler fields

    I am using copy of standard SNP94 planning book for heuristics. We want to have 'Resource Description' in the capacity view selection shuffler. But only Resource name and Location are standard available fields.
    I need inputs on how to add 'Resource description'

    Hi Srinivas,
    Thanks for the reply. 'Resource description' is not one of the fields in the 'hit list' selector. Let me know if you have ideas on how to add fields to this hit list.
    But the header text worked! Thanks!

  • Key figure display in planning book with respect to Time bucket profile

    Hi,
    I am loading a key figure to planning area from the info cube for the current month. When I review the key figure in planning book with monthly time bucket profile it shows 85 for the current month. In the same planning book with weekly bucket profile, it shows 55 from the current week and future weeks and the remaining 30 goes into the past weeks of the current month.
    How to make the total quantity 85 to show in the current and future weeks only.
    thanks and regards
    Murugesan

    Hi Murugesan,
    Within the Planning Area, the data is stored at the lowest level granularity that you maintain in storage bucket profile. Then during display, system will decide what data to show depending on what kind of time bucket profile you use in the planning view, and the time based disaggregation that you maintain for Key Figure.
    In this below case, what time characteristic do you have in cube? Is it date, week or month?
    If it's date, check how much KF data is maintained on the dates which belong to week which has days both in this month/last month e.g. if I talk about Dec 2011, how much data is stored 1,2,3 & 4 th of Dec, 2011.
    This data would appear in Dec in monthly view, but in week, it would appear in the week starting 28th November.
    If data is maintained in cube in weeks, then you need to calculate how time based disaggregation would show it to you in months.
    If it's months, then you would need to find out how much data would go to the days in the past week of the month.
    The time based disaggregation may be causing you some issues, but in that case, I would not expect 30 out of 85 to go in the past week, unless you have data in cube in days.
    Data shown in weekly view for week starting 28th Nov should ideally be a small proportion of 85, unless you are using a time stream/fiscal year variant, due to which most of December is in holidays.  The only other exception I can think of is that you have data in teh days mentioned above.
    It would be best to help the business understand this disaggregation logic, rather than thinking of manipulating the data to shift to a later week.
    If this logic doesn't explain your situation, then please provide the date/week/month at which you have data in cube, and what quantity.
    Thanks - Pawan

  • How Cost is displayed in planning book

    Hi
    Sources 4001,4002 and destinations 3001,3002,3003 & 3004,After SNP optimizer run,the following results are displayed
    4001 to 3001 -------900MT is sourced from 4001 to 3001
    4001 to 3003--------1000MT is sources from 4001 to 3003
    How cost per MT is displayed along with quantities in the planning book after optimizer run
    Thanks

    After optimizer run the following allocation qty is displayed
    4001 to 3001 -------900MT is sourced from 4001 to 3001
    4001 to 3003--------1000MT is sources from 4001 to 3003
    after optimizer run  customer want Qty(900MT) & Cost per MT to be displayed for sourcing from 4001 to 3001(Refer above scenario)
    as you said if its not possible after optimizer  run is it possible to develop a customized report based on optimizer results displaying Qty(900MT) & cost incurred per MT
    Cost per MT(For sourcing from Qty(900MT) from 4001 to 3001)=procurement cost per MT+transportation cost per MT

  • Display of aggregated data in a planning book

    Hello,
    I am trying to display aggregated data for a characteristic value in the planning book even when i am on a detailed level.
    Example :
    I have 3 products belonging to 1 material group.
    I have 2 customers.
    For customer A, i want to see the quantity of all detailed products.
    For customer B, I want to see the quantity of the materialgroup (on aggregate level) even if I only select 1 product.
    Help is more than welcome

    Hello Srinivas,
    Here a more detailed explanation of what I want to achieve with the macro builder.
    Three materials are beloging to the Material group 001 in this example. (FV_2 and FV_3)
    My intention is to display the quantity of all the material group for the value POOL, and not only the qty for FV_1. Even when I only diplay FV_1, I want to see the total POOL qty for FV1, FV_2 and FV_3.
    Best regards,

  • Time bucket not displaying in planning book

    When I opened planning book, the time bucket is not displaying as it used to be. I tried to select CVC to be displayed in the planning book and got the following error message:
    @5C\QError@     Insufficient information about read period transferred
    @5C\QError@     Error reading data - Planning book cannot be processed further
    Insufficient information about read period transferred
    Message no. /SAPAPO/TSM231
    This internal error should not occur during normal processing. However if this message is displayed, contact your system administration or the SAP hotline quoting the message number.
    Any idea what went wrong?

    Hi Nic,
    Either someone deleted the time bucket profile, or else the periodicities in the time bucket profile are not in line with the periodicity allowed in your planning area.
    Go to Advanced Planning and Optimization-> Demand Planning -> Environment -> Current Settings -> Maintain Time Buckets Profile for Demand Plng and Supply Network Plng, or directly use the tcode "/SAPAPO/TR30".
    Check that your time bucket profiles ZDP_PBP_9Q & ZDP_PBP_5Q exist by using F4 help, and also select them to see what periods are used in the time bucket profile e.g. weeks, days, etc.
    If you don't find the time bucket profile, then they need to be created (based on names, my guess is that *9Q will contain 9 quarters, and *5Q will contain 5 quarters). I expect that issue lies here itself.
    If time buckets profile exist, then check the following:
    1) Go to /sapapo/msdp_admin, select your planning area. See the storage bucket profile name in the "info" tab.
    2) Go to /SAPAPO/TR32  (Periodicities for Planning Area). Give the name of the Storage bucket profile that you see in 1.
    3) Check what periods are used in storage bucket profile.
    4) Storage bucket profile needs to have lower periods maintained than the time bucket profile. e.g. assuming that your time bucket profile has quarters, then you need to have at least quarter maintained in storage bucket profile. Even if you have day or week or month selected in storage bucket profile, it's ok because these are smaller periods than quarters what you have in time bucket profile.
    Also make a note if "post period" is checked. Note the name of "fiscal year variant" if that is maintained along with this tick. I hope you don;t need to go further but if above don;t resolve your issue, then we need to check the fiscal year variant.
    Thanks - Pawan

  • Macro icon to be displayed in the planning book tool bars

    Hi Frnds,
    Iam trying to display a Directly executable macro icon in my planning book tool bar so that i can execute it directly by selecting the icon from the tool bar, instead of going to left bottom side and executing it.
    Please let know how do i do this.
    Regards
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna.
    In the macro workbench, double click the macro you want to use.
    Select the 'Choose' button next to Assigned Pushbutton and select the icon you want on the button.
    The Button will now appear on the toolbar.
    If the 'No Direct Execution' flag is set, it will not be possible to do this.
    Hope this helps.

  • Display Characteristics-Planning Book Selected Objects

    Dear Experts
    Product , Product group and product category are 3 char. in my Planning Book
    by using shullfer we selected to show  one of the char. but i want the display of selected objects (Top left box of the Planning book) to be showing all the 3 characteristics. based on the filter criteria specified.
    Just displaying one char. specified in show is not enough.
    Same question as in
    Re: Display Characteristics
    any help to fix this issue will be rewarded.
    Thanks in advance
    Shayma

    Shyam Kumar,
    Once you have a selection ID with the 3 chars, you could use Show as only one char, lets say use 'Product' Char here. You can use the Header settings to include the other two - Product group and product category and then drill down on all 3 Chars Values as you wish. You can save this header settings and next time the user logs in, you need not redo these settings.

  • Planning book Cell colours are not displayed correctly in upgarded SCM 7.0

    Hi All
    WE have recently upgarded SCM 4.1 to SCM 7.0 system and I am testing new system. I am stuck in one issue . We have some keys figure rows which are open of inout/output. WE have macros for this key figures to close for certian period. After closing we defined cell Background colour to be same as default colour of other rows in planning book. For SCM 4.1 we used colour no 9 for this.
    But in New System SCM 7.0 looks like colour numbers have changed. So I changed macros for background colour , we have an option when changing system gives colour palett and we can select, I tested the whole pallett fo matching colour with default planning book celllc colours- no colour is matching , when I look at palett it looks same but when I  select that in macro the shade looks diferent .
    Can some one advice how can we get exact colout number to match defult colour of palnning book cells.
    Thanks
    KV

    Hi Kristin,
    You can always change the cell color to default by using 0 as argument of the macro function. For instance, the following macro change the color of cell to red if the corresponding prop factor value is negative. On the other hand, for a positive value or zero, the default background color is retained.
    Thanks,

    pl. help
    Thanks
    Ryan

    Hi Narayanan,
    a couple of simple checks..
    can you please check that you have not set a filter critera in the shuffler in planning book/data view?
    you can also check if by mistake only a limited number of users are assigned to this planning book and data view ?
    else you may want to check note : , 327371

  • The "Details All" view in the SNP planning book is not sorted

    The "Details All" view in the SNP planning book should be sorted by Product Description in ascending order.
    When all products in the selection ID are loaded into the SNP planning book, and then "Details All" is selected from the Header area, the product description list is not sorted in ascending order.
    However when I load small number of products the issue does not occur they get sorted correctly by product description.
    Is this hapenning due to standard functionality/Standard macro in Planning book?
    Please let me know if anybody has faced this kind of issue earlier.
    Edited by: Rohit Arun Bhosale on Jul 5, 2010 1:05 PM

    Hi Rohit,
    If you are using Detail All drill down then you wonu2019t get any option for sort as it will load all codes from the selection  in the planning book and sorting will be based on product IDs.
    but if you drill down from header on detail all -filter, even if you sort the display list there using ascending/descending button for Description, the list that you will get in the planning book after load will be based on the Product IDs agian.
    I hope this is controlled from the selection we do in planning book where we select Location/Product, but if your planning is better driven by the description then you can remove the Product ID selection from header setting and have only description in drill down.
