Playbook wont log into home network

My new Playbook will not connect to my home network. It does connect to hotspots as that is how I registered and updated the thing. It also logs into my neighbours secured network, but not my own? Any suggestions?
I have a Linksys E3000 Router WPA2, using Windows 7
The blackberry phone and all other wireless devices work, just not the playbook?  Any suggestions please?

Try changing your Playbook to WPA Personal in the wireless settings. I would also check that your router is running the latest firmware as well.

  • Unable to log into home network

I recently updated to ios 5.1 and can no longer access my home network. It shows up and I am putting in the correct password to join, but I am getting the unable to join network pop up. Last evening I upgraded the firmware on the Cisco router and this morning reset the network settings again on the phone as well as the "all settings" reset. I tried a full restore as well, and still no luck. Also I am now unable to get into iTunes from the phone as well. I know it's not the network due to my iPad as well as my wifes iPhone and her iPad, that have not been upgraded to a new OS, work fine. Any ideas would be appreciated before I throw the phone off the balcony.

  • Can't log into Home sharing from an iPhone to computer via wifi

Every time I log into home sharing from my iPhone 4S it loads halfway and stays there until it times out. I've restarted everything, verified all network connections. No firewall. I used to be able to stream music to my phone, but can't any more. The only possible change (aside from major updates from Apple), was a substantial increase in the size of my library around the same time. But my iPod Touch was still able to sync, as well as a friends iPad. Any ideas?Every time I log into home sharing from my iPhone 4S it loads halfway and stays there until it times out. • How do I keep my Airport Extreme from logging into other networks?

How can I tell my network to always log into our network and ignore the other signals it finds?
In older MacOS's you could tell WiFi to only use trusted networks. My problem is that in my neighborhood there are lots of WiFi users and my airport network is always trying to use one of them (even though the signal strength is the same). The most annoying is Comcast, which seems to show up the most. I have Comcast for TV etc., but have the WiFi feature disabled on the modem. I want more control. Yesterday it got on one of my neighbors that isn't even secure?

    1. Have you ticked to "Ask to join new networks" ??
    2. Have you deleted all the other possible wireless networks from your listing.
The network which should be the first in the list will be the one that is connected first. But we find it is best to empty the list.
Maybe also check to require admin authorisation to change networks.
Other than those things nothing else is offered..
I have many wireless networks here and I have not seen the issue even on Mavericks.. but if any OS is going to give you grief Mavericks is the one.

  • Zenworks unable to log into the network

We have a Zenworks Configuration Management 11.2.2 environment with Active Directory authentication. The User source was pointing at a particular Domain controller with SSL authentication and working just fine. Today, the Domain Controller went down and I had to change it to another DC. I updated the certificate for the new DC and switched to it with no problems in the Zenworks Console. Now when users are logging into PCs with the agent installed it will generate an error and not authenticate to Zenworks. You are able to hit 'cancel' and login to the computer. If you try to manually login to the agent it will generate the following error:
"zenworks unable to log into the network because the login credentials or the server certificate is incorrect"
In the console, I am able to verify the User Source connection is correct and communicating properly. I have turned SSL on/off, switched the DC server back to the original authenticating server, and rebooted all the servers but I still get this error even on the Zenworks server themselves. I'm not sure what else to check. I found a thread with a similar issue but there resolution was to blow away the server and start from scratch. That is not a viable option for me as this system is fully set up and in production.
Any insight would greatly be appreciated.

I would start by testing LDAP Connectivity to the new server using a
native LDAP Toool. (Caution - Some MS LDAP Tools may not even use LDAP
    but Use Std Windows Networking.)

  • Logging into home remotely - is Verizon blocking incoming connection requests?

I'm trying to set up my computer at home so that I can access it from my in-laws, who are also FIOS customers and from my Android device via Sprint's network.   Both of these use SSH as the protocol, and on the theory that port 22 might be blocked, I set up the Actiontec to map an alternate port  (1977) to port 22 on my server.  My first attempt was to use the port forwarding capability in the router, but I have been unsuccessful in establishing a connection from outside my network.
I've tried configuring  my server as the DMZ for the Actiontec, which makes me nervous, but I was running out of ideas.  I even turned the firewall off on the PPoE connection but that didn't help either.
From outside my network, I can ping the WAN IP address assigned by Verizon to my router, so inbound ICMP packets are OK, at least as far as getting to the Actiontec
I can log onto my server while on my local network, but not from outside the network.
I'm running out of ideas.  Does anyone know of a way to dump packets coming to the Actiontec so that I can tell if the inbound TCP packets make it to my router?
Does Verizon block inbound TCP requests for residential service?  For all ports?
                                      Thanks for any info,
                                Joe H.

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I don't have it working yet, but I was able to run a test that forwarded the port to my laptop and I see (via wireshark) the inbound connection.  So, while I can log into my server locally, I must have some sort of firewall rule on that server that's preventing connections from the outside.
Verizon, I apologize for implying you were blocking.   This looks like a local issue on my end.

  • Script or automator to auto-log into wireless network?

Is it possible to write a script or automator action to automatically log into a wireless network? I'd like to run this at startup to auto connect to a wireless access point.
    Thanks!

I'm certainly no expert on this topic, but...doesn't your computer already do this automatically? Mine certainly does.
In your System Preferences, click on the "Network" pane, then click on "Airport" on the left column, then make sure the "Ask to join new networks" click-box is checked. When it is, you will see this text below it:
"Known networks will be joined automatically. If no known networks are available, you will be asked before joining a new network."
Final step: Now click the "Advanced" button at the bottom of the Network pane, and make sure "Remember networks this computer has joined" box is checked. That is essential! Then close the System Preferences window. Done!
Henceforth, each time you encounter a hitherto as-yet unknown network for the first time, you will be asked before joining it. But once you have joined it, even only once, you will never be asked again! The computer will automatically rejoin any previously recognized wireless network you encounter.
One final detail: if you find yourself in a cloud of two or more overlapping wireless hotspots simultaneously, and the computer is not joining the one you prefer, then go back to that "Advanced" button in the Network pane, and rearrange the list of remembered Networks to have the one you prefer at the top. Then the computer will always join that one first, if it is available.
This is how I have my computer set up, and each time I restart or log on at home, it instantly and without asking automatically joins my home wireless network -- I'm not even conscious of it happening. By the time I sit down and launch Safari or Mail, I'm already online with no actions having been taken on my part. And if I find myself in my favorite cafe, I open my MacBook and it instantly and automatically joins the cafe's network, without asking, since my home network is now out of reach and the cafe's network is the second-highest on my priority list and thus the highest among available detected remembered Networks.
Hope this answers your problem. If you instead were seeking a different answer to a slightly different problem, then please re-clarify! Hopefully then someone who's more of an expert in Networks can answer it.

  • Computer will not automatically log into AirPort Network

I have a MacBook Air, running OS 10.7.5.  It will not automatically log into my AirPort Extreme, running Version 7.7.2 (I have to affirmitevely go in and choose my network every time I wake the computer up or open it).  Another computer in my home, a Toshiba, has the same issue.
The Mac will automatically log in to other networks that I regualrly use (e.g., at work and at friends houses), and the default on the Mac is set for automatic LogIn.
The iPhones in my home do not have this issue.
    Any suggestions?

    You're not alone.
I've had this problem since I unwrapped my brand new Mac Pro.
Even a clean install didn't cure it.
    Read this thread; http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1284484&tstart=0
My 'cure', which has yet to prove itself over 24hrs, is to:
Set up a New Location in System Prefs / Network.
Deactivate all other connectivity options (Ethernet/BT/FW) bar AirPort.
Move AirPort to the top of the list.
Uncheck the 'Ask to join new networks' and 'Show AirPort Status in Menu Bar' checkboxes.
    Apply settings.
I'll discover whether it works tomorrow morning, when I wake up my Mac.

  • 10.6.8 Unable to log into the network after update

    07-31-2011
    Server: 10.6.8
    Client 10.6.8
Just installed the latest updates for my snow leopard server and it will not accept my network login. I have quadruple checked the credentials and then some but it appears to accept the username and pass, displays the user avatar and then the dialogue box shakes displaying the error message:
"Logging into the account failed because an error ocurred"
It's not a very descriptive message but I checked online for some help but couldn't find much. This issue specifically happened after the latest server updates. I know I could use time machine and fix it, I fixed it before that way, but I would like to find a resolution for this issue if there is one.
Any help would be much appreciated.

After contacting Apple support I was told to rebind the machine to the server which did work initially. I was able to log in with my network login but when i shut down the machine later and tried to boot up and log back in, i was presented with the same error.
I attempted the same resolution and rebinded the machine but this time it didn't work. I tried multiple times but have had no success.

  • Can no longer log into school network internet?

Hi I take my MacBook Pro to work with me it is running 10.7.4.  Normally I can plug into an Ethernet connection at work open safari and enter my user name and password like I would if i was logging into one of the school PC's.  This then clears with Smoothwall and allows me to access the web.  However this morning it just kept reloading the page telling me that log in failed.  Is this to be more likely something on the server end or my macbook?  I have been into network settings and the Ethernet is all connected and in diagnostics it says that everything appears to be running fine I just cant log in.

Open Keychain Access - in Utilities
    Highlight the school login
    Delete
    Try to log in again
It should ask for your password

  • ID and password won't let me into Home Network Defender

When I set up a new install of Home Network Defender two days ago, some of the settings were temporary. This evening I tried to go into HND to revise some settings and the access info that I wrote down when setting it up two days ago won't work. What do I need to do to get into HND to set it up.
I tried "Live Chat" That was much time and lots of restating the issue with finally getting some instructions to uninstall Network Magic Pro, reboot, and reinstall NM. I did. Nothing changed except the clock (more time lost).
I'd sure appreciate some helpful instructions for how to get into HND or how to uninstall it and start over. I can't see HND as an installed application on my computer.
    Router: WRT610N (working great)
    Adapter: WUSB600B (working great)
    o/s: Vista Home Premium 64-bit
    Intalled HND 6/8/09
Installed NM 6/8/09 and again 6/10/09
Tried to add anti-virus 6/8/09 (that seemed to be a non-starter)
    Cheers!

    I have similar problem.
When I tried to login i get following message "HND is registered to a different user account please try again ".
I spent one hour chatting with online support of linksys and got directed to Trend. Yester day I spent one hour with Trend to get "kicked" back to Linksys support.
This time (my third attempt) on phone support with linksys I spent another one hour resetting router WRT610N to factory default and reinstalling the software. Then got transfered to "Tech specialists". I was given an offer to remotely 'try' to fix for "additional cost" or can guide me.
At this time I have two softwares worth for a total of $100 that is not doing its work and I was given an option to fix remotely for 'additional cost". When asked about this to the agent, received a 'curt' reply that it is optional to spend.
Anyway eventually even this guided service did not work after once again reinstalling the software for the second time. I was then directed to "Purenetwork" saying they manufacture Network Magic software and they can reset from the server.
My fourth call with "Purenetwork" costed me another 1 Hour uninstalling the software, resetting the Router. Finally I was told this is a unique problem for which I will get reply once they discuss internally and find an answer. No time lines comitted. After more than 24 hours from my last call, I do not have any answer to my problem.
After seeing this many treads on HDN, I am surprised to see such product amd support from Linksys.
Can any one help me how to reset HDN?

  • Cannot log into windows network account after Bootcamp install

    Hi All,
I have a 27" Intel i3 iMac with Mountain Lion 10.8.7. Its connected to a windows server. To access my account on the Mac I log in with a username and password. Yesterday I had Bootcamp with a 32bit version of Windows installed. After the Windows was installed successfully, my 'Helpdesk' had to remote access in and run patches on the windows installation. All good so far.
I tried to log into my mac account this morning with username and password. There is a little red light beside your username. I had no luck what so ever. My account has vanished of my mac. I could 'locally' log in under the adminstrator account. There was no sign of my account in the users & groups.
I had back upped my files except for the download folder. I eventually found the download folder and was able to back that up.
please please can someone explain what has happened here.
My IT guy has no Apple trianing and wants to remove my mac and replace it with the a PC because they support them. I feel it was a bad bootcamp installtion done by the IT tech, he did mention that he installed a 32 bit windows instead of a 64 bit. Its lack of trainign and understanding that has caused this.
I am trying to make an argument to say that it was simplay a bad Bootcamp installtion and try and find simliar cases to back it up.
    Please help

Mac partition was still there as I was able to log into the Administrator account on the mac. But when I went into users and groups there was no sign of my account. I'll agree it was a bad install, jsut need to explain it and back it up so that I can make that argument.

Have you tried the hard reboot? Simultaneously press the sleep/wake and the home buttons for 10-15 seconds until the device reboots (ignore the shutdown screen).
If it doesn't work, try to put the phone in DFU mode.
    1. Connect your iPhone to the computer and start iTunes.
    2. Turn off your iPhone by holding down the Sleep button and slide to power off.
    3. Press and hold down the Sleep button and Home button simultaneously.
    4. After 10 seconds release the Sleep button but continue to hold the Home button down.
    5. iTunes will pop up a window that says it has "detected an iPhone in recovery mode."
Your device is now in DFU mode and can be restored using iTunes. The iPhone screen will remain black until iTunes restores the iPhone.
