Please Help: af:table with inputText column (jdev 10.1.3 ea)

On page I have selectOneRadio & af:table with inputText.
In valueChangeListener I am updating the table model to assign default values to table’s inputText column. If I disable the inputText then values are updated correctly, but inputText is enabled then old values of inputText on screen are written back to my session bean.
How I can stop FACES no to assign old inputText values back to session after valueChangeListener processing is done. Also how do I refresh table from valueChangeListener of selectOneRadio.
Thanks, Yogesh

  • Performance of large tables with ADT columns

    Hello,
We are planning to build a large table ( 1 billion+ rows) with one of the columns being an Advanced Data Type (ADT) column. The ADT column will be based on a TYPE that will have approximately (250 attributes).
We are using Oracle 10g R2
Can you please tell me the following:
    1. How will Oracle store the data in the ADT column?
    2. Will the entire ADT record fit in one block?
    3. Is it still possible to partition a table on an attribute that is part of the ADT?
    4. How will the performace be affected if Oracle does a full table scan of such a table?
    5. How much space will Oracle take, if any, for storing a NULL in an ADT?
I think we can create indexes on the attribute of the ADT column. Please let me know if this is not true.
    Thanks for your help.

I agree with D.Morgan that object type with 250 attributes is doubtful.
I don't like object tables (tables with "row objects") too.
But, your table is a relational table with object column ("column object").
C.J.Date in An introduction to Database Systems (2004, page 885) says:
"... object/relational systems ... are, or should be, basically just relational systems
that support the relational domain concept (i.e., types) properly - in other words, true relational systems,
meaning in particular systems that allow users to define their own types."
    1. How will Oracle store the data in the ADT column?...
    For some answers see:

  • Grant on table with Nested Column.

    Hi,
I looked for an answer to this issue, but I couldn't find it. So, here it is. I am trying to grant select on a table with nested column to a different user and still the select won't work. Here is an example.
    FIRST_USER@TST > create type test_object as object(ref01 varchar2(3));
    2 /
    Type created.
    FIRST_USER@TST > create type test_type is table of test_object;
    2 /
    Type created.
    "afiedt.buf" 3 lines, 100 characters
    1 create table table1 (x varchar2(1), y test_type)
2* nested table y store as type1_nt return as value
    FIRST_USER@TST > /
    Table created.
    FIRST_USER@TST > grant select on table1 to SECOND_USER;
    Grant succeeded.
    SECOND_USER @TST > select * from FIRST_USER.table1;
    select * from FIRST_USER.table1
    ERROR at line 1:

I am sure I am missing something. I may have to give the grant a different way maybe? Please help.
    Thank you.

  • How to create a table with editable column values.

    Hi everyone,
I think this is very simple but i'm not able to find how to do this. This is my requirement. I need to create a table with n columns and 1 row initially. user should be able to enter data into this table and click of a button should insert data into the data base table. Also there should be a button at the bottom of the table to add 1 row to the table.
I know how to do the insert to database, but can anyone please let me know how to create a table that allows user to enter data and how to create a add 1 row button?
    Thanks in Advance!

    Raghu,
Go through the ToolBox tutorial Create Page & Advanced table section of OAF Guide.
Step 1 - You require to create EO & a VO based on this EO. This EO will be of DataBase table where you want to insert the data.
Step 2 - Create a Advanced table region. (Refer this Adavanced table section for more on this)
Step 3 - Attach this VO in the BC4J component of Adavanced Table region.

  • Table with frozen columns

In a recent project I've had the need of a Java Swing table with frozen columns.
After a long research at the Swing forum at java.sun.org and google I found out that
    1. Currently there is no proper Open Source solution
    2. All the postings at sun are good concepts, but far away from solutions
    3. The only (for me )acceptable commercial solution is the JCTable from Quest (formerly KGroup)
Since I want to have full control over the source code of the table, I decided to collect all the tips from this forums and write my own table.
Here is the my first result:
    http://jroller.com/resources/kriede/CoolTable.java
The main idea is to have two tables, one for the locked columns (=fixed columns = frozen columns) and one for the scrollable columns. With all the tips from this forum it was more or less a puzzle to make it work pretty. The next task will be to provide a JTable-like interface, meaning to write delegate/adapter methods to the API of the two nested JTable instances.

The FixedColumnExample from the link that you provided doesn't work with JDK 1.3 or higher.
Anyway, putting a seperate table for the fixed columns into the row header is the first step to solve the problem of fixed columns.
The next problem is to synchonize the scrolling behaviour of the two tables. The FixedColumnExample tries to do it by overwriting the valueChange method (maybe this was working with JDK 1.8), but with JDK 1.2 or higher it is recommended to use ChangeListeners. That's what I am doing, as also described here: http://www.chka.de/swing/components/JScrollPane-bugfix.html.
Another problem is navigation with the tab or arrow keys: The default actions for those events move the selection only within one JTable. It would be nicer, if e.g. the tab key moves the selection within one row across both, the fixed and the scrollable columns.
Those problems and some more are solved in the CoolTable sample:
    http://jroller.com/resources/kriede/CoolTable.java
Please try it out and send comments.

  • Please help me out with some fundamentals in BW

    Hello,
Please guide me regarding the below mentioned questions.
    1. what is the key date in query designer.
    2. when do we perform attribute change run
like once the master data is loaded then we perform attribute change run and load the transactional data ?
3.what is the disadvantage of using aggregates.
    4. what is full repair options?
please help me out with these questions

    HI,
    Repair full request :
If you indicate a request in full update mode as a repair request, then it is able to be updated in all data targets. This is also true if they already contain data from initial runs or deltas for this DataSource / source system combination, and they have overlapping selections.
Consequently, a repair request can be updated at any time without checking each ODS object. The system supports loading in an ODS object by using the repair request without having to check the data for overlapping or request sequencing. This is because you can also delete selectively without checking an ODS object.
Posting such requests can lead to duplicate data records in the data target.
    Hierarchy/attribute change run after loading master data;
When hierarchies or attributes of characteristics change, the aggregate affected by the change can be adjusted manually or calculated automatically in process chains.
    Aggregates:
Aggregates are materialized, pre-aggregated views on InfoCube fact table data. They are independent structures where summary data is stored within separate transparent InfoCubes. The purpose of aggregates is purely to accelerate the response time of queries by reducing the amount of data that must be read in the database for a given query navigation step. In the best case, the records presented in the report will exactly match the records that were read from the database.
Aggregates can only be defined on basic InfoCubes for dimension characteristics, navigational attributes (time-dependent and time-independent) and on hierarchy levels (for time-dependent and time-independent hierarchy structures). Aggregates may not be created on ODS objects, MultiProviders or Remote Cubes.
Queries may be automatically split up into several subqueries, e.g for individual restricted key figures (restricted key figures sales 2001 and sales 2002). Each subquery can use one aggregate; hence, one query can involve several aggregates.
If an aggregate has less than 15 components, BW 3.x puts each component automatically into a separate dimension that will be marked as “line item” (except package and unit dimension); these aggregates are called flat aggregates. Hence, dimension tables are omitted and SID tables referenced directly.  Flat aggregates can be rolled up on the DB server (i.e., without loading data into the application server). This accelerates the roll up (hence the upload) process.
Disadvantage : The more aggregates exist, the more time-consuming is the roll-up process and thus the data loading process; the change run is also affected.
    Hope this info Helps.
    Thanks,Ramoji.

  • Exporting Table with CLOB Columns

    Hello All,
I am trying to export table with clob columns with no luck. It errors saying EXP-00011TABLE do not exist.
I can query the table and the owner is same as what i am exporting it from.
    Please let me know.

An 8.0.6 client definitely changes things. Other posters have already posted links to information on what versions of exp and imp can be used to move data between versions.
I will just add that if you were using a client to do the export then if the client version is less than the target database version you can upgrade the client or better yet if possilbe use the target database export utility to perform the export.
I will not criticize the existance of an 8.0.6 system as we had a parent company dump a brand new 8.0.3 application on us less than two years ago. We have since been allowed to update the database and pro*c modules to 9.2.0.6.
If the target database is really 8.0.3 then I suggest you consider using dbms_metadata to generate the DDL, if needed, and SQLPlus to extact the data into delimited files that you can then reload via sqlldr. This would allow you to move the data with some potential adjustments for any 10g only features in the code.

  • BI Answers - need 2 compound layouts with tables with different columns

    Hi,
I need 2 tables in the same report with different columns displaying. Is this possible?
I wanted to put them in their own compound layout and call each one with a view selector,
but it seems impossible to create a 2nd table with different columns in the one report.
Each time I try and replace one of the columns in the 2nd table with a different column,
a message appears saying the deleted column will be deleted from all views.
    Many thanks for anyone's help.
    - Jenny

As per my knowledge - your requirement can be done with Pivot view but not with regular table view.
We dont have exclude column - functionality in table view.
Else, instead of creating in same report create the req. with 2 separ. reports but place them on single dashboard in 2 sep. sections.

  • Oracle 11.2 - Perform parallel DML on a non partitioned table with LOB column

    Hi,
Since I wanted to demonstrate new Oracle 12c enhancements on SecureFiles, I tried to use PDML statements on a non partitioned table with LOB column, in both Oracle 11g and Oracle 12c releases. The Oracle 11.2 SecureFiles and Large Objects Developer's Guide of January 2013 clearly says:
Parallel execution of the following DML operations on tables with LOB columns is supported. These operations run in parallel execution mode only when performed on a partitioned table. DML statements on non-partitioned tables with LOB columns continue to execute in serial execution mode.
    INSERT AS SELECT
    CREATE TABLE AS SELECT
    DELETE
    UPDATE
    MERGE (conditional UPDATE and INSERT)
    Multi-table INSERT
So I created and populated a simple table with a BLOB column:
    SQL> CREATE TABLE T1 (A BLOB);
    Table created.
Then, I tried to see the execution plan of a parallel DELETE:
    SQL> EXPLAIN PLAN FOR

Is it normal ? It is not supposed to be supported on Oracle 11g with non-partitioned table containing LOB column....
    Thank you for your help.
    Michael

Yes I did it. I tried with force parallel dml, and that is the results on my 12c DB, with the non partitionned and SecureFiles LOB column.
    SQL> explain plan for delete from t1;
    Explained.

The DELETE is not performed in Parallel.
I tried with another statement :
    SQL> explain plan for

It seems that the DELETE statement has problems but not the INSERT AS SELECT !

  • Cluster table with Spatial column

    Hi,
I tried to create a spatial table(with one SDO_GEOMETRY column) with cluster on one attribute column. But I keep getting error ORA-03001: unimplemented feature.
Is this mean that I can not cluster a table with SDO_GEOMETRY column?
    Thanks
    Helen

    Hi Helen,
The parameter you mention is only for real application clusters, not for clustering columns of tables.
As far as I can tell, when clustering columns of different tables together Oracle will try to
store all of the data associated with those tables together on disk.
The Oracle Spatial geometry datatype (mdsys.sdo_geometry) includes two varray types of
length 1048576. Because these varrays can hold so much data Oracle "makes arraingements"
to store data in these columns outside of the table in a lob segment (in reality, data is only
stored out-of-line if there is over 4kb of data in the varray).
Because of this (no ability to ensure the spatial data is stored with the clustering columns),
the clustering mechnism is disabled when you have spatial data.
I read through the doc and it is unclear - the only restriction I could find is using these columns
    as the clustering key.
    Hope this helps,
    Dan
