Please help with my X-fi 5.1 can't get it to work propel

I ve installed my X-fi 5. and after several tries i got it to work.
However i noticed it stops working after a while, or if i don t play a
file on a short time after the computer starts working. I' ve disabled
the onboard soundcard from the Bios, and downloaded the latest directx
(aswell creative updates) When the soundcard stops working, and try to
switch off the computer i get the MCI "windows command handling" error
message. And also sometimes if i play a bunch of files at once (or large
ones, like audiophiles) i receive the message saying that my soundcard
has exeeded its Bandwith, and i don t know how to solve that I do like
the sound card, but i need it to work propely. Thanks. Pablo.

Hello, I'm new to applescript. I'm trying to write a script to compare column B of one excel file to column B of the another excel file.
I will have to had a repeat loop to proceed down the column but I'm stuck on the find command.

Important : when you use the find command, it's preferable to use the properties ( look in and look at).
Example : find searchRange what searchTerm look in values look at whole

But, it's faster to search through a list without using the Excel find command, no need to set the screen updating, You can continue working on the workbook or another workbook, this will not disturb the script.

4000 rows --> 21 seconds
8000 rows --> 1.3 minutes
17000 rows --> 6 minutes

I have another script that uses the power of (/usr/bin/awk and his associative arrays) in a do shell script

Trying to measure frequency with the cFP-CTR-502. Can't get tutorial to work!

I am trying to measure the frequency of a
signal that I'm counting using the cFP-CTR-502. I can successfully
count pulses but I what I really need to know is the RATE of counts
(counts/s or the frequency). I have found some Labview programs that
supposedly do this that I've downloaded from ni.com (link below). The
concept makes sense of using a gate and output but the programming is
crazy - at least the program in the link below is.
1. Is there an easier way to measure the frequency of counts?
2. Why will the program from the link below ( frequency_measurement__ctr_.vi
) not work on my system? I get an error everytime I run it. Could I be
missing some VI's necessary for it to run? Or is it from another
LabView version that is not compatible?
The
entire error is: -32810 occured at FieldPoint initialization failed.
Possible causes, 1. Missing or corrupt configuration file; 2. Failed to
create call backs. : FP Open.vi

Making brochure with lots of 'large' photos, how can I get InDesign to work faster?

I am trying to create a brochure using lots of photos some of which are quite large 12mb+ and In Design is being really sluggish. Is there anything I can do to help InDesign work faster?

You see in the link panel, if the file is embedded or you see the path were the image is saved.
On your OS, I think it is Win, you go to a file with the suffix you use, with the right mouse click select in the context menu, to open with other, don't select Photoshop directly, selct with an application you will select manually and choose an option which tells you always to open this type with that program (PSD, TIFF, JPG and PDP with Photoshop and AI and EPS with Illustrator, but don't use EPS anymore, and use the suffix PDP if you work with Photoshop PDFs to get Photoshop instead of Acrobat with PDF to open the apropriate program.)

Help - using windows 7 and bonjour and can't get printer to work!

Hi, I recently upgraded my wife's pc. Previously I had a wireless printer set up using bonjour and the airport express. My mac and the old pc (windows xp). I had no problems printing. I upgraded her PC and now it uses windows 7. I installed bonjour and tried to print but no success. The PC can see the printer. It says that it sends the file to print. I get no printer error or anything on the PC, but nothing happens. Anyone have a suggestion?

I found KDE method (under Arch) more reliable, but both should work. No idea about Gnome.

I have no problem sending the text messages but I'm not receivng any from iPhones at all. It has been about a week now that I'm having this problem. I am afraid there is no solution.
PowerPC refers to the processing chip used by Apple before they transferred to Intel chips. They are very different, and applications written only for PPC Macs cannot work on a Mac running Lion.
You could contact the developers to see if they have an updated version in the pipeline.

-I created a UML model with Papyrus tool and I applied MARTE profile to this UML model.
-Then, I applied <<PaStep>> stereotype to an AcceptEventAction ( which is one of the element that I created in this model ), and set the extOpDemand property of the stereotype to 2.7 with Papyrus.
-Now In the ETL file, I can find the stereotype property of extOpDemand as follows :
s.attribute.selectOne(a|a.name="extOpDemand") , where s is a variable of type Stereotype.
-However I can't access the value 2.7 of the extOpDemand attribute of the <<PaStep>> Stereotype. How do I do that ?

1-Run the uml2etl.etl transformation with the supplied launch configuration.
2-Open lqn.model.
There are two folders inside MinimalExample folder, the one which is called MinimalExample has 4 files, model.uml , lqn.model, uml2lqn.etl and MinimalExampleTransformation.launch.
The other folder which is LQN has four files. (.project),LQN.emf,LQN.ecore and untitled.model which is an example model conforming to the LQN metamodel to see how the model looks like.

Is there a way to perform a saved Action from the Action Pallette using a JavaScript script? I know there is a way to do it with Visual Basic.
Is there a way to run a Visual Basic script from a JavaScript script?(which could be a potential workaround if JavaScript CANNOT call on an Action)
Is there a way to call on a JavaScript from an Action?
Here's specific information on my problem:
I am using Illustrator CS2 on a PC
I have written all of the JavaScript scripts that I need to perform various layer selection procedures and they all work perfectly. I have placed them in the Presets > Scripts folder so that they appear in my file menu.
I wrote a very long action that called on these scripts (using Insert Menu Item > then selecting the script by going File > Scripts) sequentially and did some selecting and copy-pasting and applying graphic styles in between scripts. The Action worked PERFECTLY and ran all the scripts I needed to an automated a process that usually takes me an hour in less than five minutes!
I saved the actions and saved the file.
After closing Illustrator all of the lines of the action that called on scripts disappeared! It seems this is a known bug...I currently know of no workaround.
Can anyone help with any of the following things:
1. Getting actions to SAVE the commands to run javascripts
2. Writing a JavaScript that runs an Illustrator Action
3. Writing a JavaScript that runs a Visual Basic script that runs an Illustrator Action.
I spent three days learning the basics of JavaScript (mostly by trial and error) and successfully wrote all the scripts I needed...I was overjoyed! But now that I've closed illustrator my actions to run said scripts do not work. PLEASE ADVISE!!!
