Plot legend flicker when in RUN mode

Hi all,
i have written a code in LV to acquire data from 12 sensors and display them. In the waveform chart I tried renaming the legend. When I run the vi, the legend name flickers to module name and channel name. I am attaching a snapshot to give you guys a clear idea.
The vi is also atttached.
Any help is appreciated.

I think it's flickering because you placed the code that writes the plot labels inside the while loop, so at each iteration you re-write it, just place all that code before the while loop, so that it executes only once before you get into the loop.
And also since you're using waveforms, DAQmx automatically includes metadata with your channels, if you want you have to remove those metadata plot by plot.
You can also optimisze a bit the code to write all the plots' names. See attached VI.

Buttons Flicker When I Run Flash Catalyst

Hi,
I'm new to this and have been following the Doug Winnie introduction to Flash Catalyst videos. Up to this point, everything was working fine, but when I run the state at the end of the fourth video, my buttons flash uncontrollably when I drag my cursor over them. I have made sure that I've updated all patches and am running OSX 10.6.6 on a 2.8GHz MacBookPro with 8 GB Ram. The problem occurs in Firefox, Chrome and Safari.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I actually would look at the OVER state of the button. You may not have any graphics in that state, or your graphic's visibility might be off.

other problem is that the channel DAQmx only works at real time mode not on stand alone vi using Labview 8.2 and Real time 8.2

Hello, LV 8.2.1 notes indicates the following bug fix:
43SAIR2A Fixed an issue where LabVIEW crashes when you run a VI that contains a mixed signal graph with a multi-plot cursor.
I am running this version, and still have this behavior. Is there anything I may be missing, and/or certain circumstances that may still be causing this?

I looked at the CAR ID that you mentioned and the issue has been resolved in LabVIEW 8.2.1. To verify something similar, I ran the attached VI and things worked just fine. Please feel free to send me the steps to follow to reproduce the issue you are running into in 8.2.1.

Disabled item in plot legend when scrollbar is visible

Problem is that plot legend shows only the plots being displayed correctly, while plot legend scrollbar is not being displayed, which is being controlled using LegPlotMin and LegNumRows properties. But when plot legend scrollbar is enabled (when number of plots exceed a certain number) then one disabled item (already being displayed in the enabled item above it) becomes visible. How to not show it while plot legend scrollbar is visible?
Second question. If plot legend scrollbar is visible and the user has scrolled it to the bottom and left it there and then selects options where the number of plots are less than a certain threshold and the scrollbar is set to invisible, using property node; then the only lower disabled plot names are shown. So how do I set the scroll position for plot legend scrollbar. I could not find any scroll position property for plot legend scrollbar.

It is true that you cannot set the index of the topmost displayed plot in a plot legend. It's a missing property! To accommodate long legends, I have used two graphs, one hidden behind the other. Both receive all the data, and their two legends are aligned side by side. In fact, I wrote a routine to align legends of stacked plots, which I've attached here for you. Maybe you'll find it useful!

When i run a sequence with ivi step types in simulation mode i get the error code number BFFA0015 - Types do not match.

When i run the sequence with ivi step types in simulation mode i get the error Types do not mathc. The step that generates this error is an IviScope step type and is configured as a measurement. Th weird thing is that in real mode is working perfectly. I have three measure steps and i get the error in all of them. The exact error message is:
UUT Result: Error, Error executing substep 'Post'. An exception occurred calling 'RunStep' in 'ISubstep' of 'TestStand Ivi Step Types 1.0 Type Library' An error occurred while executing the step. Component Works IVI Control Error: The IVI Read operation failed on channel '1' for logical name 'SampleScope'. Details: (1
) Types do not match. [IVI Error Code: BFFA0015] Source: TSIviStepTypes [Error Code: -30721, User-defined error code.]
Can someone tell me how to fix this problem?. It seems to me that the simulation generates a diferent type of measurement of that generated in real mode.

Update:
The simulation driver appears to be raising the error. By switching to specific driver simulation the error does not occur. This may be a problem in either the class simulation driver or the specific driver.

To check process mode when application running through PCUI

Hi Experts,
I have implemented a BADI called EVAL_SCHEDCOND_PPF to schedule actions.
There is one action which need to trigger when the document is going to be created and not when the document is being saved.
So, for this purpose I have used the function module CRM_INTLAY_GET_PROCESS_MODE to capture the process mode. This is working fine when I run CRMD_ORDER it is satisfying my requirement, but when I run the application from PCUI the mode that will be returned by this module will always be 'CHANGE(B)' only.
Does any body have encountered the similar situation or If any one have any thoughts pls reply me.

In PC-UI by default the document is opened in edit mode. Try one thing open the document in GUI in change mode and then try to open it in PC-UI.

Server started in RUNNING mode not showing in Startup Log File when MS Starts

Dear all,
When we start OSB Managed Server, server status is showing Running Status in Web logic console and it is also serving the requests. but in server Start up log file, it is not showing 'Server started in RUNNING mode' after it started.
this behavior is only for 4 managed servers in cluster of 6 managed servers. other 2 managed servers are starting and showing the message correctly.
please some body show some light on it as we need to fix this issue urgently.

ImaqDisplayImage hangs when running .exe and the window can't be moved when in Debug mode

I am running a multi threaded application with multiple windows, two of which display images but only one is open all the time. The window displaying the image (using imaqDisplayImage(myImage, 1, TRUE)) can not be moved or resized, the image continually updates though, when I run the app in debug mode.
If I run an executable, either debug or release the following happens:
Everything looks good right when the app starts, all windows are displayed and the live image window is continually updated.
If I click on any window in my program or not in my program, the imaqDisplayImage window freezes and will not udate its image, it will allow me to move it though, and it has (Not Responding) in the title bar. The main window of my program does not freeze and behaves normally.
I know that an acquisition is still taking place because I have a button on my main window that copies the last grabbed image that should be displayed in the imaqDisplayImage window and displayes it on a canvas (using imaqImageToArray etc . . .) and this image changes everytime I click the button.
Anyone have any tips with dealing with imaqDisplayImage windows?? Thanks!

At this point we want to pinpoint exactly where in your code this behavior is originating from. Try running the included examples which can be found here:
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudio\CVI\samples\IMAQ\Display
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MeasurementStudio\CVI\samples\Vision\1.GettingStarted
and see if you experience the same behavior. If we still experience this, then we know that it is a setting within the functions that we need to change. If not, we know that it is somewhere else in the code of the bigger project which is the culprit.

I had the same issue. This is what I was told to do.
iWork has to be removed completely to be effective when re-installing, you must use an application removal tool to do this or it wont remove every Keynote file.
Appcleaner   will do this and its free.
The following procedure has helped solve many issues with Keynote:
1 Close Keynote then use Appcleaner
2 Empty the Trash
3 Shut down the Mac, then restart and press the shift key immediately after the startup sound, then release shift when the Apple logo appears
          allow the Mac to boot up to the desktop, it will take longer then usual as the hard drive is being repaired
4 restart the Mac
5 Reinstall iWork
6 Repair permissions:
          Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility > First Aid:   click on your system disc in the drive column
          and select Repair Disk Permissions
7 open Keynote and test

Weird behavior: Throws an error while debugging/Run mode, but doesn't when project is built

I am trying to see if I could get some help on a strange situation:
I am developing a desktop application with few window components (like music window, rss feeds, photos window, etc). I am trying to have a checkbox in the "preferences" component which will disable or enable the appropriate window component.
When I am trying to test this checkbox in my application (in either debug mode or 'run' mode) an error is being thrown which I am not able to figure out why this error occurs (though I know its complaining about Null object reference). But when I am building the application with "Export Release Build" option and installing the application on my desktop to test the same checkbox - it works!! I am not sure why this is happening. Any help?
Can you tell me why it's not complaining about Null object when I build the project or how to overcome this problem?

Can you post the code at ComponentContainer.as line 48?
Also, make sure the debug SWF is up to date; delete it in bin-debug, make a change to ensure the new one has come up.

This error message pops up when you don't have programmed any error handling!
Well, you use "Write to spreadsheet file" for saving your data. Look inside this function (and it's subvi "Write Spreadsheet string") to see how to use low level file functions. After the "Open/Create/Replace File" you have to check for any error (like error 8)...

How to chang the number of plots in the plot legend during run time?

Hi, I am using waveform graph. At run time only i will come to know, how many plots should be plotted in the waveform graph. Based on the number of plots i have to change the plot legend. Is there any method to do the same?

Maybe something like this?
The inputs on the left are (from the top)
your array of data you want to plot (or anything that contains the number of inputs you have)
next one is an array of colorschemes (maybe you dont need this)
and the third is an array of booleans that are true if that "channel" should be plotted and false otherwise

Adobe Flash only works when I run Firefox in Admin Mode

As the title says, I need to run Firefox in admin mode each time for Adobe Flash to work.
When I do not run it in admin mode, and I visit say Youtube, the box where the flash player should appear flickers and just does not load. The HTML5 version eventually loads instead.
When I visit the adobe flash test page it does not work either. Only when I run in admin mode it works fine.
Problem is I do not want to run Firefox in Admin mode for security reasons each time I use the browser. I have tried reinstalling mozilla, disabling all plugins/extensions, reinstalling adobe flash several times.
I DO NOT have this problem when using Google Chrome.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
