Plot to different layers in Origin

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to figure out how to plot data I collect in Labview to graphs in Origin. My real program collects 5 columns of data and sends it to a new workbook in Origin. My problem is with plotting columns to separate layers. I attached a simplified VI of the plotting portion of my code. I want to plot column B to layer one in the graph and plot column C to layer two in the graph. If I just use a single property node for the layer, I can plot either column to either layer. However, when I use the second property node it appears to put re-assign column B to layer 2 along with column C. Does anyone have experience with controlling Origin from Labview? Origin's documentation is pretty minimal. Thanks!

Hi Drummerguy,
I was doing some research, and it appears that Origins in a third party software. For more information and support on this, I suggest contacting that company. National Instrument's doesn't directly support this software. Sorry and have a good day.

The Finder reports File information. The date and time of the photo are in the Photo's Exif metadata. The Finder has no awareness of this. All photos apps on any system do.

The chinese signs looks different in the original document compare to when imported in FM

I am using Framemaker 7.2 in Microsoft Office and I am trying to import chinese signs into a document but the signs looks different in the original compare to the FM document. The original document is a Word-file with format Arial Unicode MS and when I import that file it doesn't matter whether I choose to import by "Reformat Using Current Document's Formats" or by "Retain Sourse's Formatting", the signs looks different. Does anyone know how I should do it?

FrameMaker does support Chinese (and Japanese and Korean) for years, but I am not sure how capable the Word Import is.
Your message is unclear to me if the Chinese glyphs just look different (like: FrameMaker uses a different font) or are different (like: This seems to be Chinese but the signs are completely different).
The first can be handled by making sure the same font is selected.
In case of the latter: Make sure you have that Word document in RTF form, you will see far better results then. It also might make a difference if the document is saved to RTF on a Chinese or a Western system, you might want to try both if possible.

CT, I suspect that I either mistated the question or don't understand how to set the default back ground. In any case, with the background that I have set in system settings, and this is the background to which my sessions consistantly boot, new desktops come up for the second or up to the third background with this initially set background. Then in the third or fourth desktop creation (I seldom go beyond four), the background for the new desktop, is one that I was using one or two months ago...

How to group elements on different layers?

i'm new to illustrator. i work on a company logo and i need to group some elements which are on different layers. how do i do that?

If you must keep the Layers as defined, make them all sub-Layers of a parent Layer. Then target the parent Layer and apply the Warp Effect to the parent Layer.
Understand, even using this method, the Layers/objects involved still have to be contiguous in the stacking order. You cannot Group or Layer non-contiguous items from within a stacking order.

Photoshop Multi Paths on different layers in Indesign

Mac OSX Indesign & Photoshop CS4
Might be a dumb question but...
Is there a way of using a single placed photoshop file in indesign so that the paths can be moved to different layers. Or do you have to duplicate the image onto the different layers and then turn on the paths you wish to use on that layer.
Say for instance if you have a photoshop file with say 3 layers or 3 paths can you tell indesign to put each of those 3 layers or paths on separte layers in indesign without making 3 copies of the image in indesign.
If this can be done does anyone know of a good tutorial for doing this.

I’m nor sure what you want to do with the Photoshop paths, so I’ll leave anything path specific alone until you clarify.
But if you want different layer comps of the image to appear on different layers you will need three instances of the file in your Indesign file.
I think we’ll be able o better understand your question if you tell us what you want without assuming anything about how to get there first.

Different countries of origin for the same material

Hi All,
I need to maintain two different countries of origin for the same material, is this possible?
I have materials that are sold to customer in Europe and also in the US, but according to EU laws the country of origin is X and according to NAFTA laws the country of origin is Y.
I therefore need to be able to maintain the data according to the receiving country.
Is there a possibility to do this in SAP?

Thank you for the answer.
The problem is not that I have a different vendor, but that I have a different customer. The laws regarding how to define the country of origin for the EU are a bit different from the laws regarding the US. Therefore the same material, purchased from the same vendor can have a different country of origin when we sell it to a customer in the US from the country of origin when we sell it to a customer in the EU.
I therefore need to maintain the country of origin according to the teratory in which the customer resides.
Do you know of a solution for this?

Hi Anvano,
You don't actually have to draw the live features to be able to access the attributes. You can just call getLiveFeatureAttrs(x, y, tolerance) on your MapViewer instance to get hold of the attributes, you can use this in getToolTipText() of your component to show the attributes in a pop-up. No drawLiveFeatures needed! This way you still have to add a theme twice (once for drawing, once for the attributes) but it only gets drawn once, just in the nice style.

ERROR TABLES - FIELDS CREATED IN DIFFERENT ORDER TO ORIGINAL TABLE

Using error table functionlaity with data rules but somehow creates the error table with the columns in different order to original table which makes it more difficult to maintain.
Any ideas why and more importantly how to create tables in correct order?

Colour picker on different layers

I am using PhotoShop CS5 and can’t select colours using the colour picker on different layers.
This used to work but now I can only select the colours from the same layer?

Does it work if you select the Eyedropper Tool and set Sample to All Layers?

Different layout for different layers in a JLayeredPane

Is it possible to set a different layout for different layers in a JLayeredPane?
Say, I have a JFrame with two or more JInternalFrame.
I set a JDesktopPane as the content pane for the frame.
Is it possible to add the different JInternalFrames to different layers with different layout?? like, BorderLayout for one layer and FlowLayout for another and so on..

But cant you add differnt components to diffrent layers. and each component can have a layoutmanager.. dont know if you can but maybe..

JPA persistence tier / does two different layers make sense ?

I'm building a little application to illustrate performance issues we are encountering in our production system.
I will create a proof of concept a change we think it will resolve our problems. The change consist in building a specific lighter ejb layer with read only entities only with necessary attributes and relationships into to show data for selection and navigation into the application.
Does make any sense to put all this new ejbs in a different persistence model the one that already exists ?
What is the consequence to have two persistence model instead one for the project ?
My preference is to build two different layers (and related persistence model) and I think it is a good idea to separate the persistence layer because they have two different use, one for showing data and for navigation, one as a really persistence layer.
But i don't know what are the consequences ?

Is there a way to select matching pixels on 2 different layers?

Hey there,
I've been wondering about this a long time now and can't seem to figure it out. I hope u guys can help me crack this.
If I shoot 2 different portraits (of 2 different people), against the same background (a complex one not a backdrop), using a locked frame on a tripod, giving me the same exact background in both pictures, with only the portraits changing.
If I then take these 2 pictures, and create layers out of them in the same Photoshop document, and align them perfectly on top of each other.
Is there a way (action, plugin, script, etc...) to select the pixels that did not change between the 2 layers? In other words, the pixels that create the background of both pictures?
And would it make it easier if I shoot the background alone, and then the portraits, and then follow the same steps?
I'm posting this, and crossing my fingers.

Changing the blend mode of the upper layer to Difference, will show identical pixels as full black. To make a selection, you'd need to produce a copy merged layer (Shift Ctrl Alt e) and you could select the full black pixels by simple a method as using the magic wand with a low tolerance value. In fact a tolerance of '1' will select all the identical pixels, but tiny variations in lighting etc. may need a higher tolerance.
Save the selection, turn off the copy merged layer, change the blend mode of the upper layer back to normal > And you are good to go.
I am wondering how you intend using this though, and what sort of end result you are hoping for? Give it a try and come back to us if it doesn't work out

How can I use split extrusion on 3 different 3d objects on 3 different layers?

I saw someone use split extrusion on text so that each character can be modeled independently, but how do you do it with 3 different objects so I can have them rotate independently?

Hi,
Split Extrusions only works for a Ps generated extrusion which by definition is generated on a single 3D layer. You can generate a multi-object extrusion, by merging shapes before extruding, or by extruding a multi-part selection. There's no need to separate the 3 split ojbects to separate layers, unless you don't want them rendering as a set.
Quick example:
1) CIrcle marquee select 3 times on the canvas with the shift key held down.
2) 3D extrusion from current selection
3) make sure to select the extrusion mesh in the Scene panel and 3D> Split Extrusion
4) move each separate extrusion independently
Here's an example using rectangle shapes.
