Podcast feed validates but doesn't update in store

Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me with this.
I have a podcast http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-hollywood-5/id413752904
that is pulling from http://www.thehollywood5.com/feed/podcast
subscribers are able to get all the podcasts fine (there are 3 currently), however itunes store is not showing any of the new podcasts. Episode 2 was added 6 days ago, and it still doesn't show up in itunes store. I've tried pinging...and still nothing. Can anyone see any reason why this would be happening to me? Your insight is really appreciated!
Thanks,
Joey

fyi...i figured it out. Im sure this will help other people as well. I read somewhere that itunes wont stick around if the feed doesnt open up in 2 seconds.
For whatever reason my feed was taking about 2 seconds to open because its being fed via powerpress and as we know sometimes wordpress can take some time to load. I think in particular my server is currently having issues making the database connections as fast as they should be. Obviously im going to try to address this issue, but thats a completely different issue.
Anyways, the solution was to redirect my feed via htaccess (obviously htaccess is called before wordpress is so its super fast) to feedburner (which is also fast) and voila, literally within minutes, the store has now updated all of my episodes. So i would say the problem was that itunes definitely moves on if the feed isnt pulled in under a certain number of seconds. That or this is all a complete coincidence, however I think not.

    I purchased snow leopard from online macstore in Australia and got a disk with OSX 10.6.3 but my macbook with intel processor and 1 gig won't update from 10.5.8.  It restarts but doesn't update after disk installs.  Do I need 10.6.0 to install first?

    Insert the Snow Leopard DVD, restart your MacBook while holding down the C key, this should start your Mac from the optical drive instead of your hard drive. Choose your language and install Snow Leopard. When it's done and you've restarted on your new 10.6.3 system run software update to upgrade to 10.6.8. Done.

  • Podcast feed validated but can't download or listen to the podcast

    new to submitting podcast to iTunes. I used the feedvalidator.org to validate the RSS feed and tested using Subscribe to podcast in iTunes. I can see the podcast but cannot download/get/play the episodes.
    heres the feed: http://www.imf.org/external/images/itunesfeed.xml
    Hope that you can offer some suggestions or advise - thanks!

    I noted the URL for one of your episodes and downloaded it. It wouldn't play and indeed claimed to be ASCII text. Opening it in a text editor produced this:
    [Reference]
    Ref1=http://www-media.imf.org/2009/boughton_031209.mp3?MSWMExt=.asf
    Ref2=http://204.180.229.30:80/2009/boughton_031209.mp3?MSWMExt=.asf
    Actually trying to open it in a browser appeared to be connecting to the second URL listed there - I didn't want to wait for it to download.
    It looks as if you are using some sort of redirection process, which I don't know enough to comment on: the URLs given in the 'enclosure' tags in the feed must be actual URLs of mp3 files, not any sort of redirection process.

  • Photos App Uploads Photos But Doesn't Update

    Running the latest version of iOS, though I've had this problem for 3 or 4 months now. I'm using iCloud Photo Library (I'm aware it's still a "beta" feature, but this seems like a fairly prevalent issue and it's a relatively new issue). The Photos app will upload new photos I take with the camera, but it continuously says it's uploading, for instance... if it says that it has 75 photos to upload, I take an HDR picture (because I keep the originals), and it says 77 photos to upload. It will upload them, I know this because my computer downloads them. However, my phone will still say it has 77 photos to upload. My iPhone also, will not download new photos, my guess is because it still thinks it needs to upload 77 photos, and probably just iterates over all the stored photos looking for ones that aren't in iCloud, anyways... it doesn't download new ones (or old ones it doesn't have yet) and it's annoying not knowing how many are left to upload.
    I had a theory, that turning iCloud Photo Library off and on again, allowing it to remove all locally stored "optimized" photos in between, would fix the problem. But I didn't want to try that without knowing that it wouldn't delete any photos that might not be uploaded already.
    So, summing up...
    Will turning off icloud photo library delete any photos that aren't uploaded? Should I perhaps plug it into my computer to import any that aren't already there the old fashioned way?
    Any other potential solutions for fixing the problem? I imagine I can't be the only person using the iCloud Photo Library beta who takes several pictures a day (on average).

    chuckfletcher,
    Did you see something like this?
    If tapping the UPDATE button takes you to the Reader's Help screen, Reader must have been automatically updated already.
    To check the version number
    Go to the iOS home screen.
    Tap Settings.
    Scroll down to find Adobe Reader in the left pane.
    Select Adobe Reader.
    Check the version number.
    As of October 11, the latest version is 11.6.3 (100920).

    Hi all
    I've now changed the transformation file to not look for the "Measures" dimension and amended the data file so it does not include that either.
    Here is what the transformation file currently looks like:

  • Button configure as Update but doesn't update the document

    Hi,
    I have a form for a document library.  I also created an Approval workflow for it.  Once the requester completed and created a form, the WF then starts by emailing the approver to approve/reject the request.  I have 2 optional button for Deny
    or Approve.  Each have rules that sets the Request-Status field to show approved or deny.  There is a button that I configure as "Action: Update Form".
    Well, I select the Approve/Reject button, then select the Update button, close the form and no data was updated.  I added back the Form's Save button in the top ribbon, using that Save button then saves the data.   The Update button on the ribbon
    also doesn't save the data.
    What is wrong with my Update button and how to fix this?
    Thank you.

    Could you just map the buttons functionality to the Save action instead?  Same result if it works.
    I trust that answers your question...
    Thanks
    C

  • Changing scaleX/scaleY on parent scales the children but doesn't update  height/width property ?

    have created a custom component - MyImage - that has two children including a Bitmap as well as a Sprite.
    My display object hierarchy is as follows -
    mx:Canvas
      view:MyImage
         mx:Bitmap
         my:Sprite
    If I change the MyImage.scaleX, scaleY property, the children scale as I would expect them to.
    However when I try to place the children in the center using placeAgain() on getting a resize event:
        public function placeAgain():void
            if (image==null) return;
            var pCanvas:Canvas = this.parent as Canvas;
            if (image.width <= pCanvas.width)
                pCanvas.horizontalScrollPolicy="off";
                image.x = (pCanvas.width -image.width)/2;
            else
                pCanvas.horizontalScrollPolicy="on";
                image.x=0;
            if (image.height <= pCanvas.height)
                pCanvas.verticalScrollPolicy="off";
                image.y = (pCanvas.height -image.height)/2;
            else
                pCanvas.verticalScrollPolicy="on";
                image.y=0;
            alignKids();
    I find the image.height & width have not changed despite the image getting scaled!
    Isn't the child supposed to have its bounds changed after scaling its
    parent ? Especially after the child has actually been scaled correctly ?
    Why are bounds of the child stuck at the same value as before scaling? I
    am not caching the Bitmap, have not turned on caching of bitmaps.

    If I'm not mistaken, the bounds are updated with the scale. You rare not referencing the bounds, your referencing the width and height properties, which is a bit different. What happens if you use the getBounds function to get your dimensions?

  • Measuring data mess! Meas.doc gets created,but doesn't update plan!

    Hi colleagues,
    During testing I have encountered weird problem..
    The measuring data, which I fill while TECO for work order stopped being consistent with measurement document list and maintenance plan counter reading in particular..
    So, when i enter measuring data when TECO, the measurement document gets greated (with number!), however it is NOT visible in IK17 and if i go to IK11, it shows the old counter reading (before I entered new data when TECO)..
    What is more, the counter reading field in IP10 DOES NOT get updated as well!!
    Do you have any idea, why that can happen?!
    Thanks in advance

    yes, when i create via IK11 it gets updated and it's visible in IK17 etc.
    while when create meas doc when doing TECO, even though the actual doc is created (with number, e.g. 617), when I go after that to ik11, it would show me prior value (last doc  616) and it wouldn't let me enter new value, issuing first warning message  "1subsequent doc was created"  and then error message "Counter reading in doc. 618 larger than in subsequent doc. 617".. the only way to see meas doc 617 is in IW32 via extras/doc for order/meas doc or via IK12. It is not visible with IK17..
    it's so weird...

    I had few games with some nice achievements and scores.
    I have deleted my games from my iPhone.
    After some time Ive decided to instal some of them again.
    My achievements and best scores were automatically imported into Game Center and the games.
    It was cool and it was what I've expected.
    The problem is i.e. when I play minigore and get some nice points the leaderboard doesn't update. There are my old scores but none of them are appearing after reinstalling the game.
    Simply I still see some great scores in ALL but TODAY and THIS WEEK just doesnt show my new scores even when it's high.
    Other game doesn't connect to game center at all. It shows WELCOME AGAIN QAYIN but doesn't update nor scores nighter achievements.
    Does anyone has similar problem?
    Any solutions either simply wait till update cause it is a bug?

    Itunes doesn't list all of my recent podcasts. My show is Black Tribbles and it only shows episodes through March 2013, however we do at least two shows a week and they aren't listed. The feed works because the show update to my computer. Help please.

    Your feed is at http://blacktribbles.podomatic.com/rss2.xml
    When subscribed to in iTunes the recent episodes show, but the Store hasn't updated for some time.
    There appears to be an issue with the feed. In the episode 'WRESTLING MARCH MADNESS: Final Bracket & Championship' of 31st March you will find in the 'description' tag the following line:
    4. KURT ANGLE
    At the end of this line is an invisible character which seems to be wrecking the feed - although it works OK when suscribing in iTunes it won't load in a browser (and I also found the feed very slow to load, which won't help matters with the Store)
    This sort of thing usually happens when you paste text in from a word processing application and manage to include one of the invisible control characters. I don't know how easy it will be do do it in Podomatic but you should delete that entire line and retype it to remove this charter.
    You should keep an eye on the time it takes the feed to be accessed - if there is a long enough delay (and it was quite some seconds when I tried) the Store may well timeout and fail to read it. At the moment it's showing a cached version from the last time it was able to read it.

  • Email from Apple states there is a podcast error but gives no specifics. The feed validates and follows all Apple podcast spesifications.

    I require information about an apparent error with my podcast feed.
    I have tried numerous times to submit a podcast to Apple iTunes. There is no issue with the XML feed. It validates in both the W3C validator and the iTunes reccomended validation service.
    The submision process works through iTunes without problem. However I keep receiving these email reposnes from Apple:
    Dear podcast owner,
    An error was encountered while trying to add your feed, [ http://feeds.mhpn.org.au/feeds/webinarsrss.aspx ].
    Please correct the error and submit your feed again. For additional information, please consult the podcast FAQ at http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/faq.html and technical specification at http://www.apple.com/itunes/podcasts/techspecs.html.

    The iTunes Store team
    This email from Apple is generic and does not clarify what the error is nor how I can correct it.
    I just spent over an hour and a half on the phone with Apple support. Was bumped to three consultants and two senior consultants who could not give me any information. The last senior consulatnt told me to try this forum.
    Would appreciate any assistance/advice.
    Thank you kindly.

    iTunes Support won't help you diagnose problems in your feed. The feed validates in FeedValidator, and can be subscribed to manually in iTunes.
    However, it's lacking what should be the first line:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    Also, the '.aspx' extension may be causing problems - this method of constructing and accessing feeds (which I don't know anything about) may not work in the Store (which is a quite different matter from the iTunes application, which is more robust). A direct link to the file, with the .xml extension, would be better.
    Though it's not a fatal error, your feed is lacking the 'itunes:duration' tag - its absence may be an issue in the Store (certainly it is when people put it as 1 second, for example).
    Otherwise the feed seems to be OK, but it's badly laid out which, though that shouldn't affect its usability, makes it difficult to look at for problems.
    However there may be an issue with the actual media files. It's a requirement for the Store that the server can handle 'byte range requests': this is the method used by iPhones, consisting of requesting part of the file at a time rather than the entire file. The Terminal test for this shows this isn't working:
    curl -I -r 200-300 http://feeds.mhpn.org.au/uploads/audio/MHPN_13_MAY_2013_RB.mp3
    HTTP/1.1 416 Requested Range Not Satisfiable

    That is likely to get you rejected, though in that case they were originally saying so in the rejection notice (normally they don't give any reason) - they may have stopped doing that. In order to deal with that you will have either to get the server sorted out or find a server which can handle it.

  • Made No Changes, But Podcast Feed Stopped Updated

    My podcast feed has not updated for a month or so now and I cannot figure out why.
    I use feedburner and have used the same procedure every episode no problem but it just started doing this.
    What other info can I provide in order to troubleshoot?
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/FullMetalNerdcast
    You'll notice the two most recent episodes don't have the "PLAY NOW" button while the rest of them do...

    The latest episode to appear in both the iTunes Store and when subscribing in iTunes is 63. The two subsequent episodes do not have 'enclosure' tags containing the URLs of the media files, as is required by iTunes. Consequently iTunes does not see these episodes as containing media and so does not display them.
    You have constructed your feed in FeedForAll, about which I'm afraid I can't advise: there is obviously something you need to do to make these episodes iTunes-compliant.

  • ITunes podcast feed not updating

    My podcast feed was broken in January. It is now working again, but iTunes is not picking it up. Do I have to do something to re-start it and get it working again?
    When I go to iTunes and find my podcast, it shows all the most recent podcasts up until late January (and none of the recent ones). (please note I have two podcasts which appear identical - one is mp3 and one is m4a feed...I plan to delete the m4a feed asap)
    Interestingly, when I subscribe to the feed in the iTunes store,it shows only then ONE most recent podcast (which doesn't even appear in the list as described in the previous paragraph).
    The feed address is: http://www.wilymanager.com/feed/podcast/?wpmfeedkey=1;292f771b94206b1dd91b4a301f 03c5d6
    Would greatly appreciate any help.
    Thanks
    Sue

    The feed you link to is entitled 'Wily Manager MP3 Feed'. Searching on 'Wily Manager' in the Store brings up two podcasts, both called only 'Wily Manager'.
    The one at http://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/wily-manager/id351213931 is looking for a feed at:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/wilymanager/mp3
    The one at http://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/wily-manager/id351231957 is looking for a feed at:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/wilymanager/m4a
    There is no feed at either of these addresses: basically you've been updating a feed at the wrong address. Since iTunes cannot find a feed in either case it cannot update the Store page, and subscribing produces an error.
    I don't know how you've got to the feed with the complex URL but it's not being used by iTunes. You need to be able to go back to having a feed at the URL I give above.

Maybe you are looking for
