Policy Agent Installation : Path to password file to identify the agent ???

Hi,
I am trying to install Policy Agent 2.2 on Sun App Server 9.1 which was installed via "Java EE5 SDK Update2" (java tools bundle) on Windows XP Pro.
In the installation process, I have reached a question to which I want to know the answer.
"Enter the path to a file that contains the password to be used for identifying the Agent."
Could someone pls tell me the exact name of the file to find in the server hierarchy?, whose path I can search for.
My AM is installed at location:
"D:\Sun\SDK\domains\domain1\applications\j2ee-modules\amserver"
Thanks in advance.
Rahul A Honrao

This is the way I solved it:
1. copy default pkgadd to pkgadd.orig
cp /usr/sbin/pkgadd /usr/sbin/pkgadd.orig
2. create new pkgadd
cat > /usr/sbin/pkgadd
#!/bin/sh
/usr/sbin/pkgadd.orig -G $*
^D
3. Make /usr/sbin/pkgadd executable
chmod 755 /usr/sbin/pkgadd
Now install the agent.

    Hello all,
I am running Flash Media Server 4.5.1 for Windows. I am using Windows 2008 R2 Server. Whenever I start my Flash Media Server, I get the following error in my Windows Event Log in the Application section.
The Apache service named  reported the following error:
    >>> [Tue Sep 04 13:43:40 2012] [info] mod_jithttp - FMS installation path: "C:\\Program Files\\Adobe\\Flash Media Server 4.5\\"  .
I am using the default configuration settings for HDS Live in the Apache2.2/conf/httpd.conf

I am not sure what the error is, I did see using a single quote if you are using spaces in Windows for Apache2.2 configuration and that setting did not work. I would like to use HDS Live eventually. If anyone has experience in troubleshooting this, I'd love to hear your input. Thank you.

    Hello Shiven,
FMS Apache Service is installed from the Adobe Flash Media Server installation program. When I start FMS from the "Start Adobe Flash Media Server 4.5" icon, it starts both the "Flash Media Server (FMS)" and "FMSHttpd" service. When I stop the FMSHttpd service I am not longer able to access my FMS server from http://myfmsserverip. Please advise.

  • Individual report path with defined file name from the report settings in Testsand 2012

    Hi,
    I have following task:
I want to test stand 2012 in each sequence to change the path of the report file. But the naming of the file is to be maintained as these settings can be made from TestStand into the report (DisplayName + _Report_ [<FileDate>] [<FileTime>] <unique>. <File Extension). I can not find now, however, the / callback parameter on which the components are assembled path and file in TestStand.
While I can read about the callback "GetReportFilePath" the path and file name, and with the expression: Parameters.ReportFilePath = "c: \ \ electro \ \ SHARE \ \ test protocols \ \ Test Logs \ \" change the path, but the file name will no longer be formed from the settings of TestStand.
I have the suspicion that I'm just not accreting at the right place. Can someone please give me a hint?

    ORA-01991: invalid password file 'C:\oracle\ora92\DATABASE\PWDhubdb.ORA'
    I don't have any ideas?
    Amy

    Dear Amy!
    Symptom:
When trying to open (or mount) a database the following error is generated:
ORA-01991: invalid password file '...PWDOrcl.ora'Where ‘Orcl’ is the SID of the database instance.
    Cause:
Typically some corruption of the password file, or possibly the password file is for another database instance?
    Possible Remedies:
If encountered when creating the database then it is because Oracle expects to create the password file but it already exists. In this instance database creation will have failed. Delete the password file and try again.
If it is suspected that the password file is corrupt then try deleting it and recreating it:
    1. Delete the existing password file.
    2.Create a new/replacement password file:
orapwd file=<path>\PWD<sid>.ora password=oracleUse the same path as given in the Oracle error. The password specified will be the new internal password.
    Yours sincerely
    Florian W.

  • How do i find the location of Oracle password file in the HDD

we giv the location of the password file while we use the orapwd command to create one.
later if we forget the location of the password file (incase it is not at the default location) then is there a way to find it or do we just create a new password file?
secondly, for oracle to use the password file we giv the remote_login_passwordfile='EXCLUSIVE' in the parameter file. wat tells oracle the location of the exact password file??
    Thanks
    Arvind
Edited by: iinfi on Sep 29, 2008 12:15 AM

The default location are OS dependant.
On Unix/Linus it is under $ORACLE_HOME/dbs
On Windows, it is under %ORACLE_HOME%/database
To change the default location, nothing inside database, but :
On Unix/Linux, you have to create a symbolic link for that file to the target location
On Windows, you have to change env variable (regedit) ORA_PWFILE and ORA_SID_PWFILE
So, you have to check this setting for the real password file location.

  • Password file required?

I am attempting to install Application Express (htmldb and oracle http server) from the 10g Companion Disk. During the install, after I enter the connection information (including the SYS password), I get an Ora-01017 Invalid username/password error message. I have scoured the OTN and Metalink sites and found several notes that suggest setting up an Orcale password file and setting the parameter REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE=exclusive. The problem is that we do not use password files in our environment. Do htmldb/http server REQUIRE use of a password file. I can find nothing on this in the documentation. Please advise.

To install APEX into the database you must run the apexins.sql script on the database on which you wish to load APEX.
The script can be located at ORACLE_HOME/apex/apexins.sql.
The scripts takes six arguments as parameters.
password: Password you wish to give for your APEX schema
apex_tablespace: The tablespace to hold APEX schema
apex_file_tablespace: Tablespace to hold APEX files
    temp_tablespace: Temporary tablespace
    images: Virtual directory for Images
connect: Connect stringThe last parameter "connect string" specifies a connect string for your target Oracle database. If the database is NOT on the server where the APEX software is located, you need to set that REMOTE_LOGIN_PASSWORDFILE parameter as you mentioned. This has nothing to do with APEX, it is just a requirement for non-local (remote) SYSDBA logins.
It is best to copy the APEX software over to the server where the database resides and do a local install (where you can pass in NONE for that 6th parameter)
    Hope this helps.

  • How to open orapwd tool to create password file?

    Hi Guys,
    I got information as
    orapwd
    orapwd file=password_file_name password=the_secret_password
    orapwd file=password_file_name password=the_secret_password entries=n
There is a default location and name for password files. When a password file is created, it should be created in that location.
n specifies the maximum number of distinct DBAs and OPERs that can be stored in the password file.
orapwd is a command line tool to create password files.
How to open orapwd tool to create password file?
    Thanks

    Hi
ORAPWD is a oracle utility to craete a password file to identify users that can use the SYSDBA and SYSOPER privileges when connecting to the database. Its not a GUI utility. It is run on the cmd(in windows) abd on the terminal(in unix).
To create the password file the command is
    orapwd file=filename  password=password entries=max_users

    Hello All

The file exists in that path, and writeable (mod 777)
The content of the file is "password."
Does anyone have an idea why I am getting this error ??
    Thanks in advance

I also am experiencing this error message when installing the AM v2.2 agent for WAS on linux. It looks like the Agent can't find the SUN security provider class and therefore can't run the encryption routine.
    The agentadmin logs show:
    EncryptionKeyGenerator.generateRandomNumber() : threw exception :
java.security.NoSuchProviderException: no such provider: SUNWould adding "security.provider.SUN" to /opt/WebSphere/AppServer/java/jre/lib/security/java.security do the trick? I assume not by itself since the reference actually wouldn't be there.
    Thoughts?

  • Apache Policy Agent : Broken Installer?

We downloaded the apache policy agent from:
    http://www.sun.com/download/products.xml?id=43696d80
When we ran the installer the localization resources (for the buttons and other UI elements (including the licence)) were missing. The installer failed when it could not find 'SUNWamcom.zip' (the output on the console shows this).
Has anyone got a link for a working version on apache?

In my initial post I forgot to mention the platform. We are deploying Sun JES on Windows 2000.
Also to clarify, the localization resources I am mentioning are the localization resources for the installer itself. For example the button names show as:
    Agentapache-Resources: Close-Button
    Agentapache-Resources: Help-Button
    Instead of 'help' or 'close'.
The output on the console points to a missing resource bundle:
However, it isnt clear if the install failure is related to the resources (the problem seem to be the missing SUNWamcom.zip file).
