Poll messages from XI servers

Hi,
Client applications located behind a firewall cannot receive messages from XI over HTTP or SOAP. SAP XI cannot initiate an HTTP connection to them. Would it be possible to develop some sort of polling mechanism whereby the client checks at regular intervals if messages are available?
Maybe some sort of endlessly running business process could be used? But then, each polling call for each client will be monitored.
Or the development of our own adapter? Or some servlet that retrieves messages (files) from directory or jms queue?

you only said you cannot go for the HTTP nor SOAP
but you didn't say what you can use:)

if you can use FTP/SFTP why don't try this?
XI can puts the file in some folder and the clients appliction just takes the file (scheduled polling)

BTW
did you thought about j2se adapters ?
maybe the XI will can connect to one of them
through XI SOAP protocol and j2se adapter placed
at the client's place will communicate with the application?
however if you you cannot use SOAP at all this will not work I guess

We have a jms adapter configured in BPEL process which need to poll messages from JMS topic.Unfortunately its not polling message from JMS Topic if we add Message Selector and Durable Subscriber properties in jca file.Please find jca file content below

After changing below property in jca file.JMS adapter is able to poll messages from JMS Topic.
<property name="UseMessageListener" value="false"/>
But if i un comment below line and deploy my code again, it stop pulling the messages from topic.
<property name="DurableSubscriber" value="XYZ"/>
If i bounce the server after above change and deployment ,it will start polling the message.I am not sure why i need to restart my server after adding above property.

Polling message from Queue

Hi B2B Gurus,
Is there any way that I could control polling messages from Queue(AQ/JMS).
(e.g) There are 1000 messages in the queue, I want to process 10 at a time.
Are there any settings that can I do so that i can poll 10 messages at a time.

Polling is only based on the interval and not based on size. Please raise an ER.

"Command-i" which was so useful in being able to selectively delete messages from the servers no longer works. Is their a replacement? Will it be fixed? Or should I change my mail application?

Hmmm. Which Mail program are you referring to?
in Mac Mail command -i used to bring up the Account info pane on the server (10.8.5)
Now it seems you have to use the gear at the bottom in "Mail Activity" to get the drop down (10.9) :

Incomplete Download of Messages from POP Servers

I finally convinced my PC husband to switch over to Mac, and I've been gloating for years about how I'd have him up and running in minutes. Well...I've been working on this problem for days now.
He has two POP e-mail accounts, one for work and one Gmail. I originally set him up in Entourage, but encountered this problem: While all his e-mail from his work account downloaded to his Entourage account, Entourage acts as if Gmail doesn't exist. (The account is set up properly, just like on my own machine, and tests correctly, but when I check mail for the account, I'm told there are 0 messages there.)
Frustrated with Entourage, I then went to set him up in Mail. The Gmail account set up with no problem and downloaded all his messages from there. However, now it's the work POP account that won't function: He has 4000+ messages on his work account server (yeah, he needs to clean out his inbox more often), but Mail has repeatedly (I've started fresh several times) downloaded only 1700 messages, stopping with the most recent being June 2007. And, even though he has brand-new messages sitting on that server, whenever I try to get mail, I'm told there are no new messages.
For both of these problems, I've tried everything that's worked for me in the past, tried everything in the Help sections. I logged onto his office work account directly and even tried marking all messages as unread, but Mail still ignores anything new. I would appreciate anyone giving me some help before my husband says again, as he did last night, "Well, at least I have a nice new Mac typewriter."

Gmail POP access has a lot of idiosyncrasies and doesn’t work like a normal POP mail server would. In particular, it doesn’t allow the same message to be downloaded more than once by normal means.
As to the other problem you mention, sometimes messages left on the server clog up the account there, or Mail chokes on a message it cannot download and that prevents it from downloading the rest as well. Solving this problem will probably require removing one or more messages from the server. Except in the case of Gmail (which, as I said, has its own idiosyncrasies), leaving messages on the POP server indefinitely is a bad idea.
You may tell Mail to remove from the server all the messages that have already been downloaded by means of Preferences > Accounts > Advanced > Remove now. Alternatively, you may use the Account Info window to remove specific messages from the server. And if the account allows web access, you may also remove messages from the server that way.
Try removing from the server messages that have already been downloaded and/or the first message not downloaded yet (i.e. the message that Mail appears to be choking on).
You may want to try to download those messages with another mail client such as Thunderbird first, to avoid losing them — and use Eudora Mailbox Cleaner to import them back into Mail afterwards if you wish.

In OSB, how to poll message from DTAQ(data queue in AS400)??

In our OSB project, I have a data queue(AS400) in proxy side and Oracle AQ at business side, I can easily connect to Oracle AQ, but I am not able to understand how to connect with DTAQ (data queue). Is there any adapter supporting DTAQ for OSB. or does OSB support DTAQ?? Please help me out.

If I understand correct all you would need to do is in your connectivity map, publish the data to that queue.
example high level hierarchy

OSB - Service to receive message from JMS and route to different queues

Hi,
I am completely new to SOA suite, so please bear my question :)
I have a requirement to send XML messages to the different queues(external client facing queue) based on their contents. These XML messages are generated inside the application based of various business scenarios.
We have adapted following approach to do it
1. Application Service will construct the message and send it to the internal JMS queue (We are intending to use JAXB objects to construct message)
2. On the OSB, we need to define a service, which will keep polling messages from this intermediate jms queue
and somehow based on some routing information, it will post those messages to the respective external facing queue.
For the first part I am using spring's JmsTemplate to send message to queue
For second part - I am not sure what should be the approach?
we are using Oracle 10g Fusion Middleware

Do I need to define a canonical xsd for all different types of xml messages? so that proxy can extract the routing info and route the actual message to different queues?
And re-directing to different queue in OSB means I need to define business service for each queue or I can put message directly into the destination queue by referring its jndi name in the proxy service configuration?

Receive message after importing serveral songs from CD into iTunes (latest ver 11.1.5.5)... "Error occurred while converting the file 'songname'. The required folder cannot be found." CD/DVD ROM is no longer recognized until restart.

I have the same problem. I recently moved my music from a Vista PC to a new Laptop with an external CD drive. It will copy one song from the CD and it will show in the Music file and then I get the message ' Error importing a CD - Folder not found'. I must unplug the CD drive and plug it back in. I have seen no fix for this problem.

Receiving messages from Service Bus Topics in node js without polling

Hi, I have node js client who subscribed to a Topic, currently I'm using a timer to invoke receiveSubscriptionMessage every few seconds to get messages from the Topic.
Is there a way to do this without polling?

You can implement message pump by OnMessage which will do the poll for you. Please read "How to receive messages from a queue" part from

ISE 1.2 rejects RADIUS messages from 5508 WLC

The setup in ref is:
WLC 5508 HA pair running 7.6 talking to ISE 1.2 patch 7 (was 6).
Wireless users are authenticated fine, so the 5508 is a valid NAD in ISE, but...
When I setup active RADIUS fallback, so that the WLC can poll the ISE servers I get the message:
"The RADIUS request from a non-wireless device was dropped because the installed license is for wireless devices only"
Why would ISE drop a RADIUS message from a WLC which is a wireless device? Surely this is a mistake?

This is a known defect.
CSCug34679 ISE drop keep alive coming from WLC.
Symptom:
ISE drops keep alive authentications coming from the WLC, with message 11054 Request from a non-wireless device due to installed wireless license.
Conditions:
When only a wireless license is install on the ISE and using active keep alive on the WLC.
Workaround:
Use passive keep alive on the WLC and not active.

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

Hrm... that may be true and this may be a function of the phone email client that Apple just doesn't do.
No, I can easily MANUALLY delete the messages. I would prefer if I didn't have to do it twice, tho. Once on the mail server and once on the phone.
What I think the phone needs to do is, when it checks the POP, anything NOT there should be removed locally. I think you are correct on POP; the phone will poll the mx (mail exchanger) and the mx will pass off the messages to the phone. The phone then keeps ALL of that unitl you manually delete it.
If, say, I remove a message from the mx, I would like the phone, when next polls, to see that that particular message isn't on the server anymore and remove it locally.
Perhaps it's just me but if I delete the message on the mx itself, via my ISP's webmail interface, I really don't want to have to remove it again from my phone.

How to retreive all unconsumed messages from a topic with a MDB?

I have a webapp that stores TextMessages in a Topic in WebLogic.
I have an ejbapp (Message driven bean) that reads messages from the topic.
If both are up and running the ejbapp reads all messages sent from the webapp to the topic.
But if I stop the ejbapp for a while and sends a couple of messages to the topic and then deploy the ejbapp again, then the ejbapp does not read the unconsumed messages. If I send a new message to the topic the ejbapp reads that new messages but it does not get the previous messages that are on the topic.
Is this the way it should work? Or could I get the message driven bean to consume all the messages that it has not consumed from the topic when it starts?

I am not much familiar with Weblogic, but i would suggest, you do a search for how to setup "Durable Subscriptions" in Weblogic. This will ensure the the messages that were sent when the consumer was not available, will be delivered once the consumer is available
