Pool creation issues

Environment:
2 RD Web Access servers 2012 R2
2 RD Connection Brokers 2012 R2 (who are also RD Licensing servers)
6 RD Virtualization Hosts 2012 R2
When creating a new pool from a newly created master image (sysprep done), I am getting a bunch of the same error message on the RD Virtualization Host and after around two hours the creation of the pool fails with message:
"Failed: The virtual machine is not ready for the virtual machine-based desktop deployment."
The error messages on the RDVH all say:
Source: Microsoft-Windows-TerminalServices-TSV-VmHostAgent
Remote Desktop Virtualization Host failed to set zeroconfig information from the virtual machine [vm-name]
Hresult: 0x800706D9
Creating a new pool from an old master image works fine.
Can someone clarify the meaning of this error please?

Hi,
Accroding to the error message "Remote Desktop Virtualization Host failed to set zeroconfig information from the virtual machine", it originally occurres on the template VM and wouldn't allow the creation of the VDI pool. Maybe it is
due to the VM created from the new image is not in the correct status. You can check the status of the VM and make sure it is running.
Best regards,
Susie

  • Dynamic Connection Pool Creation Failing in a cluster

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a connection pool in a clustered environment. This connection

    The only way to do it is using MBeans. You could search this newsgroup
    for "JDBCConnectionPoolMBean" to get an idea of how it could be done.

    Slava,
    I am working with Mike on this issue and wanted to add some moreclarifications.
    We have a two server cluster where one of the EJB's on one of the Managedservers
    creates the connection pool. The problem comes in when a request comes tothe
    second server in the cluster. The connection pool is created by the firstserver
    but it is only assigned to the first server in the targets section on theconsole.
    It isn't assigned to the cluster. Is there a way to programmaticallyassign the
    pool to the cluster instead of just the server that created the pool?

    Hi Michael,
    Could you show us the code? Without looking at the code
    I can only say that JdbcServices.poolExists(someName)
    returns true only in case the pool is up and running.
    If the connection pool MBean was created but not assigned
    a target, subsequent tries to create it would fail.

  • 10.6.7 - general pdf creation issues?

    I wondered whether anyone else had run into this issue after updating to 10.6.7 when using pdfs created by Preview - perhaps related to the pdf/font issue.
    If it is generally happening, then the 10.6.7 pdf-font issue has an even larger
    impact than previously described:
    1. Open a pdf document in Preview
    2. Select a region and save to clipboard
    3. Save as a new pdf file
    4. Then try importing it as a "Picture" into any of the new Office 2011 apps: Word, PPT, etc.
    This crashes my office 2011 apps (latest version, 14.02) But NOT any earlier version of Office (2008. etc.), which may not do as much pdf checking.
    Before the 10.6.7 upgrade (ie, 10.6.6), this never happened with Office 2011.
    Acrobat complains when opening the Preview-created pdfs about 'missing fonts', so I suspect some sort of pdf creation issue.
    Any fixes (besides the previously suggested one of downgrading to 10.6.6)
    If it's a real bug (not just local to my system), then it's a more far-reaching one than previously described.

    rcberwick wrote:
    So, 3 different Apple tech support people say they know this problem affects
    "multiple applications, including any that deal with pdf files" but that "no fix is
    currently in the works"
    That is wrong because it only involves OpenType Postscript fonts.
    The only solution offered so far is to "downgrade by doing Archive & Install" and
    then re-applying each Combo Upgrade, starting with 10.6.3 up to 10.6.6.
    You wouldn't have to do that either. That is the point of a Combo update. You only need to apply the one you want. It includes all of the previous updates.

  • 5.1.0 sp11 Connection pool refresh issue, revisited....again...!!!

    "Hello,
    From reading of these newsgroups I've seen many different manifestations
    of what seems to be the same root cause with connection pools and
    connections which are refreshed/replaced when found broken. In our
    case weblogic server hangs.
    Kit: 2xWeblogic 5.1.0 sp11 (not clusterd), Solaris 8,
    java 1.3.1_01, 1xoracle 8.1.6, latest JDBC 2.0 drivers from oracle. Each weblogic instance and oracle have their own machines.
    We do indeed have a firewall employed to run our subnets, and hence
    our weblogic servers and oracle databses are in different DMZ's, but are
    allowed to communicate to each other via rules set up on the firewall and
    inspection of the logs show no such connections being dropped.
    As far as the db is concerned, lookups (no writes) never take more than a few
    hundred milliseconds and are then closed and given back to the connection pool
    immediately from within the 'finally' block of code, hence hard to see when,if ever, the db is
    is closing them due to excessive idle time.
    weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.RecipeDBPool=\
    url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@foo:1521:BAA,\
    driver=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver,\

    Hi Joe,
    The fix you suggested has been implemented and has been running fine

    but am concerned as to why this problem wasnt highlighted during our
    load-testing phases...It's a possibility that your load-testing didn't present the same sort
    of load that your actual runtime does.
    Thanks for your time on this.Well sure. We want you successful.

    Hi Joe,

    Please find attached a copy of the jvm thread dump we got from thelast time
    that weblogic blocked upon trying to refresh a broken connection.
    We have turned off JIT with the environment settingJAVA_COMPILER=NONE.
    FYI hotspot is enabled with '-hotspot', these settings can be foundin the
    attached 'startWeblogic.sh'.Hi. I found a serious problem by reading the thread dump:
    "ExecuteThread-11" daemon prio=5 tid=0x179d40 nid=0x19 waiting for
    monitor entry
    [0xeee80000..0xeee819e0]
    at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(DriverManager.java:144)
    - waiting to lock <f8e77ad0> (a java.lang.Class)
    at com.akqa.sainsburys.jv_recipe.ejb.session.RecipeBean.getConnection(Re
    cipeBean.java:759)
    It is important to never call DriverManager methods in a multithreaded
    application
    such as Weblogic, because these JVM methods are alloverly synchronized
    at
    the class level. One such method, DriverManager.println(), is called
    continuously
    by all JDBC drivers as well as the SQLException constructor. If one
    server thread
    makes a long-lasting or hanging call to DriverManager.getConnection(),
    it can halt
    all JDBC in the whole JVM including work on other open driver
    connections.
    Please show me the code for RecipeBean.java, and I will send you an
    altered version
    that should solve this problem. In fact, I can infer from the thread
    dump what is needed.
    Change the one method getConnection() to this:
    // Make once and re-use a driver instance directly, avoiding
    DriverManager
    Driver d = (Driver)class.forName("weblogic.jdbc.jts.Driver").newInstance();
    public Connection getConnection()
    return d.connect("jdbc:weblogic:jts:yourPoolNameHere", null );
    Also, change your pool definition. I assume you have
    testConnsOnReserve set to true.
    (You should). Also, you should change your refresh minutes to
    something huge, like
    9999999. The refresh is interfering with your online performance and
    is unnecessary
    if you have testConnsOnReserve set. I recommend:
    weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.RecipeDBPool=\
    url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@foo:1521:BAA,\
    driver=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver,\
    loginDelaySecs=1,\
    initialCapacity=50,\ <------ note that this should be the
    same as max, so all cons are made at startup
    maxCapacity=50,\
    testTable=dual,\
    testConnsOnReserve=true,\
    refreshTestMinutes=9999999,\
    etc.
    Joe
    I've also attached some firewall logs around the time of weblogicblocking
    (12.09). I could only get screen dumps for you, this may or maynot be
    useful.
    For the firewall logs use the following legend :-
    195.110.64.205 - DNS
    172.16.160.195 - host webserver 1 (i.e. what our licenses are boundto)
    172.16.160.196 - host webserver 2
    172.16.160.220 - website 1
    172.16.160.230 - website 2
    Thanks

    testTable properties set).
    Thanks for your time.sure, but first let's get you running OK. These dumps seem to be
    very cryptic, as if you're running a highly optimized JVM that
    loses almost all of the Java class references I'd normally see.
    Can you run again with a more basic JVM? I am beginning to suspect
    the JIT JVM...

    As far as the db is concerned, lookups (no writes) never
    take more than a few hundred milliseconds and are then
    closed and given back to the connection pool immediately
    from within the 'finally' block of code, hence hard to
    see when,if ever, the db is is closing them due to excessive idle time.
    weblogic.jdbc.connectionPool.RecipeDBPool=\
    url=jdbc:oracle:thin:@foo:1521:BAA,\
    driver=oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver,\
    loginDelaySecs=1,\
    initialCapacity=30,\
    maxCapacity=50,\
    capacityIncrement=1,\
    allowShrinking=false,\
    testTable=dual,\
    testConnsOnReserve=true,\
    shrinkPeriodMins=1,\
    refreshTestMinutes=10,\ // has been 1 and 5 but 10 'more' stable.
    Fequently however, connections are found to be broken
    (either by periodical refresh - refreshTestMinutes or
    testing connection before granting it to the
    application - testConnsOnReserve=true), this has been
    confirmed by viewing JDBC.log .
    When this is so, weblogic attempts to replace these
    broken connections with new ones and then proceeds
    to grant it to the application. Once in a while however
    (and by no means 'x' refreshes later), weblogic will not
    come back.
    One of 2 errors occur in our deployment which cuase weblogic
    to refresh a connection.
    <JDBC Pool RecipeDBPool> java.sql.SQLException: No more data to read fromsocket
    and
    <JDBC Pool RecipeDBPool> java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: Broken pipe
    I believe these settings to all be correct, JDBC drivers
    in the correct point BEFORE weblogic.aux in classpath, yet
    still have the issue of broken connections.
    Any ideas ? I've been reading a lot into this probelm
    on various postings now, and i'm completely stumped.
    Thanks for your time.

  • Session creation issues with DS3.2

    We are using BODS 3.2 for development. We are aware that a newer version of DS has been released quite a long time ago but due to some reasons we are still using DS 3.2.
    We are facing some session creation issues. We are using Teradata and Oracle as source and extracting\updating data using some SQLs in script tasks. SQLs are targeting huge amount of data. We executed a job and checked on the servers, sessions were created on the databases. Job kept on executing for long time and was not getting completed, there was no error also. After waiting so long, I checked on Database server and found that session was lost for these SQLs on Database servers. We are able to create a successful connection using Data Stores.
    Please suggest something, Why the sessions are not getting lost on the database servers?.
    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi...I'm new to the forum.
    2 of the same phones in my household having similar issues since OS upgrade.
    -Text automatically going to MMS when sending pics and the pics won't send.  1 phone freezes, the other acts like its sent but not sent-this phone won't load emailed pics either.
    -Keep getting notifications that passwords need updated for email accounts.
    -Facebook app won't load on 1 phone-tried deleting, pulling battery and re-installing.  Still getting "session re log-in required" but there is nowhere to load the log-in info under accounts. Getting the same message on the other phone but the app is still listed under accounts so am able to log in.
    -Both phones are randomly re-starting. Multiple times over past 3 days.
    Any known issues like these?
    There must be some common factor why both phones are having the same problem.
    With the 10.2.1.537, the only problem I had was a few contacts merged and surnames were repeated.
    I haven't noticed any difference with the latest upgrade.
    Maybe a security wipe and restore contacts and email then one app at a time.

  • Talent pool creation

    Hi Experts,
    Can anyone guide regarding  Talent Pool Creation?
    Is it possible in standard configuration or additional complexities are there?
    Regards,
    RK.

    Hi,
    you have to logon to Talent Management specialist via enterprise portal. There you can create Talent Pools. It is only possible with the web dynpro UI! It is not possible from SAP backend.
    But you need enterprise search up and running to assign employees to the talent pool as talent management specialist.
    As a Manager you can assignt employees to a Talent pool.

  • KMS Pool creation

    Has anyone been successful on a pool creation with using KMS?... I have tried with ISO and existing VM.  Main reason I ask is that when I tried using a MAK key after a while the pool vms became not activated which eventually became not geniune.  Which prevents any use of them and I then have to recreate the pool using MAK keys.  Any input on this subject would be appreciated.

    Hi,
    Accroding to the error message "Remote Desktop Virtualization Host failed to set zeroconfig information from the virtual machine", it originally occurres on the template VM and wouldn't allow the creation of the VDI pool. Maybe it is
    due to the VM created from the new image is not in the correct status. You can check the status of the VM and make sure it is running.
    Best regards,

  • Microsoft Project - Resource Pool Major Issues (continuation)

    Hi All,
    I have followed the the very helpful discussions in this forum under "Resource Pool Major Issues". I have read all the other related discussions as well.
    I still have a question on the Resource Pool:- I am using a stand-alone version of Project Professional 2007
    I create a Resource Pool; a Master Schedule and then insert several different Project Schedules into the Master.
    I have gone through the motions of harmonizing the calenders and all the other good stuff recommended in the blog.
    I then share the resources from the Pool.
    When I open each activity to load the resources, I cannot see the shared resources except at the Project level (but not at the task level)
    The only way I can pull the resources into the tasks is
    if I break the links of each inserted Project. (incidentally the inserted tasks are automatically linked option is de-selected)
    Even then, I get an irritating message pop-up saying that the calender does not exist.
    Has anyone had this experience, is it the correct way to share the resources; and do you have any thoughts, suggestions on this matter?
    Thanks
    FK

    Hard Core,
    You indicate you have Project 2007 but you didn't tell us if you have SP3 installed. If not, do so.
    Since you indicate that you have "read all related discussions" I will assume that you are aware of the tenuous nature of linked structures in Project and that they are prone to corruption.
    Please clarify something. What exactly do you mean by "open each activity" and "I cannot see the shared resources except at the Project level"? Also, which links are you breaking?
    We can't really tell you if what you are doing is the correct way, (probably not if you have to break links for it to work), until we understand exactly what you are doing.

  • Site Creation Issue.

    We had a user report a site creation issue with their site. They had been able to create sites with no problem up to this point. But now, when attempting to crate a site they get an error "User can't be found". But if they create a blank site
    I or a blank team workspace. The site creates without incident. Any idea? The permissions appear to be correct but they can't create anything but blank sites without receiving the error. Maybe check permissions to webparts and templates (Do you know where
    I could do that)?

    Hi,
    Did you mean create site collections in the CA?
    Did the users have admin permission or other permission? You can use the admin account to check whether it works.
    To narrow down the issue, you can use other web application to check whether it works.
    Maybe the web application had been corrupted.
    You can also check the event log and ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
    To check event log, click the Start button and type “Event Viewer” in the Search box.
    For SharePoint 2010, by default, ULS log is at
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\LOGS

  • Custom infotype creation issue

    Hi Experts,
    I have a requirement to create a custom infotype based on certain conditions. But there is a problem while saving data in the infotype. The infotype is populated from another infotype automatically through dynamic actions.
    But while saving the data for the first time it happens as per the requirements and data gets saved properly.
    But when the data is saved for the second time for the same pernr , the previous data is over written even though the new record starts with a different begin data.Also i have created the infotype with time constraint '1'.
    can you please let me know if i am missing anything while creating or is this a logic issue .? all the logic has been coded in the flow logic part of the screen.
    also if i dont save the data in the infotype it does not pop up any message like 'data not saved' which usually happens with every infotype. Please clarify me on this as well...
    Thanks,
    Raj Thilak.

    Hi,
    Check the logic how it is updating the custom infotype . I think it is nothing to do with creation of custom info type

  • Customer sales return - excise inv creation issue

    Dear expert,
            We are testing the "Customer sales Return" scenario for one of our client. Our process is,
    1. Create sales return order (VA01) with ref or without reference
    2. Create return delivery (VL01N)
    3. Perform Post goods Receipt (VL02N)
    4. Create Credit Note (VF01) - Here in this case we are differ. We are creating the "Credit Note" with reference to return delivery not with ref to sales return order
                   Since we planned to create the credit note with reference to "Return delivery", we have defined the CIN related customizing as "Assign Billing Types to Delivery Types".
               Then we tried to create the excise Invoice using Transaction J1IIN. But we are getting the error message as
                                  Billing document 3134000001 does not exist
                                  Message no. 8I422
    Kindly give your suggestion to overcome this issue.
    Warm Regards,
    Nag

    Dear Experts,
             Thanks for your quick response.
    Yes, already we maintained the billing relevance field in item category maintained as "A" & Copy contorl in VTFL also. Due to this we can able to create the "credit Note" in Transaction VF01. But during excise Invoice creation only we are facing the above mentioned issue.
    Feedback for the response from SDL:-
                     Yes, we came to know that, for customer sales return process we need to raise a JV only not the excise invoice creation in J1IIN. But we are in the assumption that, this scenario is applicable of we are creating the "Credit Note" with reference to return sales order.
                 But in our case, we are creating the "Credit Note" with reference to "Return delivery". Since delivery is involved in the process we are in the assumption that we can able to create the excise invoice using J1IIN after maintaining the configuration in the "Assign Billing Types to Delivery Types" area.
    Please give your valuable feedback on this.
    Warm Regards,
    Nag

  • Company code creation issue

    Hi All,
    When I am creating company code I am getting an error as below.
    "you may not change the currency since documents exist with this currency"
    Above issue is coming while new co code creation or copying of existing co code also.
    Please advice on the above issue.
    Regards,
    Riyaz

    Hi,
    I hope you are creating new company code by copying from the exiting company code. If you copy one company code to another company code then you will get few pop- up message like do you want to use same chart of account or do you want to use same currecny like that. So may be you have selected different currecny. Sap has come up with country template for each country. So you can use country template to create the new company code.
