  • How to personalize a link that pop up a word document?

    Hi there,
I would like to carry out personalization in the standard oracle page. The requirement is to personalize a link that when user click, it will pop up a word document.
I would appreciate guidance on how to carry out this requirement.

    Hi AJ,
The pop up word document is having static content, for example a guideline on how to rate a performance for an employee.
Thus, I am hoping that this can be done via Personalization by adding a link.
    Appreciate help on this context.
    Thanks and Regard,

  • Pop up Pass word

Why does the Icloud message pop up every minute looking for my pass word?

The system is trying to access iCloud, but isn't able to.  It could be Mail, Contacts, Calendar, or Software Update.  Maybe you aren't logged into iCloud?
If you go to System Preferences->iCloud, under the iCloud button is your Apple ID full name there, or is there a button "log in"?
Were you not getting the prompt, then something happened and now you are?

hello, such problems are usually caused by adware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and do a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

  • How to click a label and pop up a Word Document

    hi!
i know this question has been asked many times...i did a search...but got alot of stuff that were either too much for me to read...or too tough for me...
i hope i can GEt some help here!
i am in a rush..thats why i opted to post it here instead.
    question is:
i have a JLABel. hwo to create a link that once i click on it... a MS word DOC will open??
i already have the doc. file made...but need to link it to the label..such that once its clicked, the doc is opened...
    thanks alot!!!

A very important message about problem solving: Divide and conquer.
Stop thinking "clicking a label and open a word document".
    Think
    - "Clicking a label, and do something"
    - "open a word document from a java program".
    Go on, and think
    - "How do I make my program notice when a specific label gets clicked"
    - "What external command will open a word document?"
    - "How do I run an external command from a java application?"
Look at the hints you've got. Read the documentation for the classes and methods you've been pointed towards. Look them up in the index in a good book. Read the tutorial. Write code. Experiment. Maybe come back here if you get stuck on something specific.

  • WORD Error message -- Report from Template

    Hello everyone,
I try to generate a "Report from Template" with transaction CG03.
I can select the generation variant and the parameter values in the next two pop-ups.
WORD is starting but then there is the error message:
"Word cannot read this document. Maybe it is corrupted. Try the following:
    - open and repair the file
    - open file with repair-textconverter".
This message is a translation from german to english so the correct messagt might differ from this.
When I look at my frontend PC in the local settings I see that the respective files are written, but I can´t open them.
This problem started two days ago out of nowwhere.
Additional information: Visual Basic pops up after the error message is closed with "runtime error '1055'.
A debugger is opened and this is the content of the window:
    Private Sub TmpDDE()
    Dim Template

    Hello Christoph
any change happened on your client? New Windows version? New Word Version? New WWI Version installed? Did you manupulated Standad Dot path etc.? Did you change Standard.dot of Word?
Can you open in cg54/cg50 any document (ready, released or historic) without a problem and the problem is related only to "report from template"?
During WWI process a number of files are passed on to your client. Can you use Wordpad to open the files? I am not sure but I believe per WWI document there should be something like 4 or 5 documents in your local WWI path. One containing the data, one containing the template and some others (named something like resfil, lesfil etc.).
An error like you described is normally related to one of the above mentioned changes. Can you use "Report from template "regarding the same spec, same genvariant same language with a different client without a problem => then it is clear you have a local problem
    With best regards
    C.B.

  • Word 2013/64bit Installed on Windows 8.1 pro 64bit

    Hi everyone,
    1. Error:
When I open Microsoft Word 2013 I get the window “Microsoft Visual
    Basic for Applications”
Compile error in hidden module: NotOE.
This error commonly occurs when code is incompatible with the version, platform, or architecture of this application. Click “Help” for information on how correct this error.
After I click OK the window is gone.
    2. Error:
When I open a new blank document another window pops up : “Microsoft Word” … The macro cannot be found or has been disabled because of your Macro security settings.
I click Ok and the word is working fine.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
    Mario

    Hi Mario,
Please try to start Word 2013 in safe mode and see if issue persists: Press Win + R and type "winword.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press Enter.
"Compile error in hidden module: NotOE" -
I'm not sure what exactly "NotOE" is, but it usually indicate a third party add-in, you might want to have a check.
Also, please browser to Word Startup folder and see if you have any similar .dot/.xla add-in template files. If yes, try to delete them, then verify result. The path of Word Startup folder can be found by going to FILE>Options>Advanced tab>click
File Locations... button under General section.
    Hope this helps.

A message pops up saying 'Word cannot open this document. • Transport (Cmd-7) - doesnt resize to default, cant use pop up

having trouble making the Transport tool (window) resize to how it appears when Logic first starts up. How is Logic able to make this tool size/appear this way while I the user am not ? I can drag the lower right corner just fine but this only causes the tool to 'rescale' - exact same placement of all buttons just larger or smaller in size.
Im hoping to get the Transport window to:
    a. change to the 'two level' mode (where there's two rows of buttons)
    b. let me use the upper right pop up - the words "Legend" and "Position Slider" always appear greyed out
    TIA

yes, Im aware of the drop down, I refer its content in my orig post.
Sometimes the drop down does show the items as selectable and sometimes they are not (greyed out). Any idea what causes this variability ?
Further, how to get the single row of buttons vs double row ? I dont see why sometimes Logic presents one or the other.
Choosing either "Legend" or "Slider Position" seems to have nothing to do with the single vs double phenomena.
Does anybody know the answer here ?

  • PDF causes Robohelp 9 to crash

Can you think of what elements might cause a PDF file to crash Robohelp every time I try to compile the help and publish?
I downloaded an Excel calendar template from microsoft.com. The formulas update the dates in the month areas when you select the year from a dropdown menu. Nothing too fancy, but kind of cool.
I rearranged the months around a little bit, used a custom font, and inserted the company logo.jpg. I set the print area to only print the calendar, NOT the dropdown, then saved it as a PDF. I uploaded it as a baggage file, and attached it to a topic. All is very normal. Then I compile and get an message telling me that Robohelp 9 encountered an error. When I click for more information, I get this - it goes on for days. I just copied the first page.
So I closed down other software, made sure no PDF files displayed in the live version on the server I was publishing to, removed the custom font, deleted the image, and tried some other diddling, but nothing worked. When I remove that file, the project compiles just fine.
Does anyone have any other thoughts? The next thing I'm going to do is try a different template, but I'm wondering if, after all my customization, I can still use this one somehow.
    Thanks!

Update: I tried to save other Excel templates into PDFs directly from the Microsoft site without making any changes at all, then added them as baggage files and found that NONE of them compile if they're in a Robohelp project. I don't know if it's a Microsoft issue or a Robohelp issue, but it's out there.
So, I did a screen shot of the calendar and created a .jpg, popped it into Word and saved it as a PDF that way. One does what one has to...

  • Did I make major mistake buying this product? Tungsten E2

Somebody...anybody...if you feel you want to make a difference in somebody's life, and are not sure where to start, please start here and help this poor sucker out with any information you might have.
I recently purchased a Palm Tungsten E2 ("TE2"), and it was a bit of an impulse buy which I didn't think through fully.  I blew almost $300 on the thing at BestBuy (not counting the softward upgrade I had to buy so I could convert PDFs and view them on the device), which my wife is already on my case about.
It looks like I made the wrong purchase altogether, but maybe someone can help me understand how to overcome the apparent shortcomings, or understand the advantages of the device a little better (so I can feel better about the purchase, and try and convince my wife I'm not a total idiot-- although that ship has sailed really.  Can't blame Palm for that).  Solving some of these problems could well preserve my marriage and really improve the overall quality of life of the family.
    1. The TE2 doesn't appear to be able to be recognized as a simple USB storage device on a Windows PC (which is what I use at work). So I can't move any info back and forth without loading up the PalmOne software (let alone opening and reading office files or PDF's).  At work, they won't allow me to load that software, because they're afraid I could accidentally introduce a virus or compromise confidential customer data stored on the network.  So I can't do away with my flash drive-- I still need to keep it with me and copy anything to it that I want to take home, convert and load up to the PDA there.
    2. The TE2 doesn't appear to have the capability of storing MP3 files without the purchase of an additional SD card (whatever that is...some kind of memory card? can you tell I'm illiterate? And did I tell you I've already spent plenty of dough?). I really love music, and I would love to be able to just play MP3's from the thing without spending another hard-earned cent.
    3. The TE2 can't connect to the internet wirelessly (or by wire, to my knowledge), unless you count blue tooth connection to a compatible cellular phone or PC or laptop with blue-tooth adapter (within 10 or 15 feet of where you're standing).  If I'm within fifteen feet of such a device, why not just log onto that device and browse that way?  Why bother trying to figure out if it's compatible/blue-tooth capable?  And if I'm within 15 feet of my home PC, I might as well just plug in via USB port to "hot-sync", instead of blue tooth.  I mean, I'm right there anyway, so what's the point?  So I can't just pull out my TE2 and check the weather, or movie showtimes, or mapquest.
    4. To make efficient use of my contacts on the TE2, I would need a telephone with blue tooth feature, which I don't currently have.  (Same for web surfing.)  So that's more expense, and even then I'm working with 2 devices.  (Although I'm told it can be frustrating to do things on a blackberry while you're in a telephone conversation.  So writing down honey-do lists would still be easier on the TE2.)
    5. In order to share/"beam" any files to my wife's handheld (when she purchases one-- she hasn't yet), she would have to have a compatible one, I think.  But so far she's not impressed, so I wonder if she'll even buy a Palm product.
    6. In a real life writing situation, when I'm not staring at the device and concentrating on every stroke of the stylus, I get about a 50% success rate, as far as the device recognizing the letters I print (very frustrating).  I'm trying to go paperless and ramp up my personal efficiency, but my wife is rolling her eyes and I'm starting to stress her out.  By the time I get her to-do-list down (and it's usually sizeable), she has forgotten the rest of what she wanted to put on the list.  You may think that works to my benefit, but not so-- not in the long run. There does not appear to be a way to 'train' the device to recognize the way I draw an 'r' when I'm in a hurry.  It just let's you pick one or two pre-set variations on how to write a handful of letters or symbols.
    7. By the time I get a PDF loaded to the PalmOne software at home, or god-help-me if I've scanned a document on my HP (a 15 minute process in itself, minimum for one page even) and then 'hot-sync'd', I've waited about as long as I can bare to wait.  But the converted pdf pages take over 15 seconds to load just to view, even if already on the TE2.  (Like if I'm on page one, finish, and go to page 2, that transition takes over 15 seconds).  In this day and age, 15 seconds to load a single page is actually a long time.  There is no high-speed toggling back and forth, so you better really be done with that page. It'll take you another 15 seconds if you change your mind.  I never realized how awkward 15 minutes of waiting can be, when you're trying to justify a purchase.
    8. Ideally I can work on converted excel and word files on the TE2, but then I can't just walk into work and transfer that to my PC, unless I have the PalmOne software loaded at work-- which as I stated was a no-no.
    9.  The entire owner's manual should just automatically come as an e-book loaded on the device, but it doesn't. I have to get to a PC and go surfing in order to read up on how to do anything on this device, and it's really cumbersome (because I have a lot of kids, and there's just no time to do anything...).
    10.  I bought the geek-squad protection from BestBuy, and out of the gate they appear to have given me bad info.
Anyway, anyone care to field some of these concerns, and help get me on track to increased productivity and happier marriage with some helpful hints?  Anything to avoid more hardship and heartbreak would also be good.  Oh, and sorry I sounded whiny...
    Thanks!

    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

I blew almost $300 on the thing at BestBuy (not counting the softward upgrade I had to buy so I could convert PDFs and view them on the device), which my wife is already on my case about.
...maybe someone can help me understand how to overcome the apparent shortcomings, or understand the advantages of the device a little better (so I can feel better about the purchase, and try and convince my wife I'm not a total idiot-- although that ship has sailed really...).
That sounds pretty harsh, unless you have been doing *other* things to antagonize your Spousal Unit.  You are among friends here, where purchasing a Palm handheld is presumptive evidence of one's intelligence and good judgment (not to mention good looks).  Even "impulse purchases" are usually made for at least one good reason, even if it's only: "I've always wanted one of those..."
Curious what they added to the $199 E2 to make it come out to $300?  And what software did you purchase to view PDFs?  The E2 comes with Adobe Reader for Palm (more below).  If you are referring to upgraded Documents To Go, PDF files require no conversion for viewing on the handheld.
That is correct, you cannot simply plug the E2 into any old computer with a USB cable if the Palm Desktop software isn't installed, at least out of the box.  The older (and discontinued) T5 and also the LifeDrive used to have this capability which was called "Drive Mode."  There are third-party software alternatives such as http://www.softick.com/cardexport2/ which will let a SD card inserted in your E2 to be read as any other external storage card.  It is a "try before you buy" application, so you can give it a test drive for free.  I have not used it, and I think there are also others.
That is also correct...you will need a SD card to load .mp3 files for playback.  They are ridiculously inexpensive these days, compared with what they used to cost, at least. For your E2, you need a 1GB maximum size, regular, plain-jane SD card, not a SDHC (high capacity) card.  Shouldn't cost more than $15.
If you do have a Bluetooth phone, and a carrier that allows this connectivity, you can use your E2 anywhere you have a cell phone signal to browse the internet and check email.  Now, you are correct that if your phone is already so enabled, you *can* just do those things on your phone without having to go through the setup, etc.  But many people think the email and web functionality of the E2 is pretty superior to what you get on most cell phones.  If it's Wi-Fi you want, you can get a Palm Wi-Fi card.  It is apparently a discontinued item, but still available at many online vendors including amazon.
All depends on what you need to be able to do.  I have a Centro smartphone now, but I also have a couple of TX handhelds (two being better than one  ) , and if one of them is handy I use the Contacts database all the time to look up people and places.  Depending on the phone, you might also be able to sync contacts between your phone and E2 using Bluetooth.
    5. In order to share/"beam" any files to my wife's handheld (when she purchases one-- she hasn't yet), she would have to have a compatible one, I think.  But so far she's not impressed, so I wonder if she'll even buy a Palm product.
Tough call, trying to impress the unimpressed (or unimpressable) Spousal Unit.  I've been there for years, and long ago stopped trying.  I do like to show her up every now and then when I can search for movie information on my Palms with Leonard Maltin's Movie Guide much, much faster than she can with that 4" thick book.  That said, any Palm handheld, even an old used one, will be able to share contact and calendar info with your new E2 via IR beaming.  There is also a third-party application called SyncUs which lets multiple users with separate Hotsync IDs synchronize selected databases using the desktop Hotsync...perfect for families who need to share contact or calendar info.
Graffiti is something that you can get pretty good at over time.  Are you using a screen protector?  Some of them can either make Graffiti stroke recognition better or worse.  The ones I like the best are the hard plastic "ClearTouch" ones from Boxwave.  There are also a few "word completion" applications out there which will pop up suggested words when you start entering characters.  On my Centro I use TextPlus which I think will also work for graffiti-input.
Some people swear by the "virtual" on-screen keyboard in lieu of graffiti data entry.  In addition to the built-in one, there are third-party virtual keyboards which are configurable.  I tried one and didn't particularly care for it.
A wireless keyboard is also an excellent option for longer data-entering chores like editing documents or longer memos.  Either the Palm Universal Wireless Keyboard (uses the IR port) or the Palm Bluetooth Keyboard would work well for you.
But the rolling of the eyes thing is a sign of disrespect, which is a learned behavior and all too prevalent among wives these days.  Does your wife watch a lot of TV shows and commercials where the wife and children are the intelligent, worldly, sophisticated and attractive people who add to society, while the husband is nothing but a clueless dolt and an object of scorn and ridicule whose only value is the income he brings home?  They should let me write for TV.  But I digress...
Adobe Reader for Palm is an old and outdated application.  Try the freeware PalmPDF which gets mostly rave reviews here and elsewhere, and does *not* require conversion on your desktop first.  Another application which can read "native" pdf files (i.e. without conversion) is the current version of Documents To Go, which is a $30 (I think) paid upgrade from the version which comes with the E2.
    8. Ideally I can work on converted excel and word files on the TE2, but then I can't just walk into work and transfer that to my PC, unless I have the PalmOne software loaded at work-- which as I stated was a no-no.
Well, you can move the files to your PC if you have a USB SD card reader.  Make sure the files are on the card.  Pop the card into a card reader, plug it into your PC, and off you go.  You could also email the file to yourself at work from the E2 (requires wireless email, discussed above), or Bluetooth it to your PC if your PC is Bluetooth-enabled.
    9.  The entire owner's manual should just automatically come as an e-book loaded on the device, but it doesn't. I have to get to a PC and go surfing in order to read up on how to do anything on this device, and it's really cumbersome (because I have a lot of kids, and there's just no time to do anything...).
You can put the owners manual onto a SD card if you want.  It comes as a .pdf on the installation disc, and is also downloadable from the E2 support site.  It's a pretty large file and reading it/navigating around it on the E2 might be a little clunky, even with PalmPDF or Documents To Go v.10.  I would not even *try* using Adobe Reader for Palm to put it onto the E2 that way.
    10.  I bought the geek-squad protection from BestBuy, and out of the gate they appear to have given me bad info.
I don't know exactly what that gets you.  What did they say it was, and how much did that cost you?  If it includes an extended warranty, then maybe there's some benefit.
Anyway, anyone care to field some of these concerns, and help get me on track to increased productivity and happier marriage with some helpful hints?  Anything to avoid more hardship and heartbreak would also be good.  Oh, and sorry I sounded whiny...
Hope some of this helps.  Do you have an idea of what other types of things you'd like to do with your E2.  There are many more things you can do with the E2, you probably haven't scratched the surface yet.  It doesn't sound like many of them would help your relationship with the Spousal Unit, as I am guessing that she is already predisposed against anything cool like Palm PDAs.  It is a heavy burden which many of us share, but most of us learn to manage.  If you really want to impress her, you can show her how your new E2 can also double as a replacement remote control for your TV, stereo, cable, etc.  Most wives really go for that extra functionality.
If I were to give any piece of unsolicited advice (it being much easier to risk someone else's life than one's own, and spend someone else's money than one's own), you might consider trying to navigate your way into a Palm TX instead of the E2.  Do you have return privileges at BestBuy if you don't like the E2?  If so, I'd jump on it, spring for the TX (bigger screen, more memory, built-in Wi-Fi), and gird yourself for whatever tongue-lashing you'll get.  It'll be worth it.
Good luck.  If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • MacBook keeps crashing needing hard restart, related to Office 08???

Please forgive me if this is in the wrong thread, this is my first time posting; I really couldn't figure out where this should go; I won't be offended if it gets moved.
For quite some time now, about a year and a half, every so often my computer would suddenly start to bog down, show the beach ball, one by one things would stop working such as the app dock, corners, etc., then mouse stops responding and eventually results in needing to be manually restarted. This whole process from start to finish takes about 30-60 seconds. I never once have received a crash report or any sort of clue as to what causes this problem. It would seem to happen rather randomly, but infrequently enough to not really be a true nuisance.
However, in September I switched from 10.5 to 10.6 and am updated to 10.6.4. At the same time, I started to heavily need to use this computer to type college papers and I constantly am using Office 2008. Around the time I switched to SL, this problem has increased to seemingly every two hours or so. It is causing major problems as I am losing large portions of work. I can give you what I have learned and what I have tried, but I cannot seem to find any sort of solution:
    1. Possibly a corruption with a font - I opened fontbook, verified and cleaned up all duplicates and a few with critical errors, rebooted and reset the PRAM. No change.
    2. Possibly a compatibility issue between Office 2008 and SL - I reinstalled Office 2008, updated everything, cleared the msword plist, reset PRAM, and still no alleviation.
Also, before SL, it seemed to be utterly random; now it does seem to coincide with the use of at least MS Word, and especially when I try to copy/paste or drag and drop something, and possibly when autosave is triggered but there is still no set pattern. I have found various tidbits of information online that lead me to believe that it might have something to do with something Office uses referred to as a Temporary Scratch File used to hold copied text, when drag-and-dropping, etc. and that it may be reaching a size limit that causes a fatal crash. Also, just before it crashed this last time, just before it completely froze, a window popped up from Word that read
"Word encountered an error reading JM2010Bus.tmp (name of file that was being used). The file may be corrupt."
I understand myself that this is pointing to the autosave file that Word uses, but it is not specific to just this file. It will happen seemingly at random regardless of the file being used and regardless of content or size.
Unfortunately (and maddeningly), I do not have any sort of error report or crash status that comes up after a restart, at least not automatically. Perhaps if there is a way to look at some sort of activity log leading up to a crash, I might be able to give you some more info about this problem, but I can't find anything myself. About the only facts I can give you are that it seems to occur mostly when Word is in use, and tends to be related to using copy/paste and/or autosave. The computer itself is a 2.1 GHz Intel Core Duo with 2Gb RAM and 320 GB HD. Office and OSX10.6.4 are all updated to the most recent available. This problem has persisted after switching from OSX 10.5 to 10.6, and has persisted past swapping in a new HD. Also, I own a black MacBook and a Mac Pro, both of which run Office 2008 and SL, and have never once encountered this problem. I can say for sure that it is software related and not hardware; this problem originally occurred in my black MacBook, but after I swapped drives from black and white, it only now happens in the white and the black is fine.
Please send me off in the right direction; I have to say that I am totally lost with this problem. I can't seem to find anything on this specifically or what to do about it after hours of searching on this forum and in google. I'm pulling my hair out!

I am having similar issues. I am receiving the same .tmp "the file may be corrupt." error. I am the IT administrator for a graphic shop. We are running a Mac 10.6 File Server where the Word documents are saved. I have always been thinking this was a network issue, but we have stress tested the network and verified that all cabling is certified and we still receive errors. This happens for multiple users running from different machines, but it does not happen to everyone. I have not found a similarity between the users it happens on or doesn't happen on. We have updated all machines will all MS Office and Apple updates.

  • A few issues... help.

I transfered a document from Appleworks to Word after I saved the Appleworks document as a Word Windows 97, 2000, XP 2002 Format. I did this because I figured that format best suited Word 2004. I have Microsoft Office:Mac (Student Teacher Edition) 2004. I didn't like the document on Appleworks, which is a simple word document, so I just wanted to transfer it to Word. When I went to save the document once it was in Word, I have a compatibility issue that says:
"The compatibility options for this document are set to word 6.0/95, which may cause lines to break differently than the author intended. To ensure this document looks the same on computers running Word 97 or later, change the compatibility options to Microsoft Word 2000-2004 and X
    in the preferences dialog box".
When I go to do what this reprt says there is a whole list of rules I can check. I have no clue which ones to chose. Should I just ignore this compatibility report?
The last problem I had after I saved the document anyways, a window popped up saying:
"Word could not create the work file. Check the amount of disk space on your start up disk".
I went to my start up disk and I don't know what I'm looking at. What does this mean? I have had this message before. This all reminds me why I bought a Mac in the first place... windows is so frustrating and confusing!!

For the most part you can ignore the compatibility warnings, but since Word is not an Apple product, you'll probably want to use a forum dedicated to Microsoft's Mac products such as <http://www.microsoft.com/mac/community/community.aspx?pid=newsgroups> rather than an Apple forum
Be sure to search the forum first in case someone has already had a similar question answered.
