Pop up java web pages......

when ever i click on a java web link kinda thing...for a page to pop up it won't happen. does anyone one have a clue why this is. i'm absolutely clueless to computers and i despretly need to access a java page. thank you in advance

Could you paste the pop-up code.
if you are using a sumit button to open a page in a new window then the code should be something like
<form name=somename action="post/get" target="_new">
</form>
This will make prompt the browser to open up a new window.

I will explain the scenario:
In our java web page, we are using three text boxes to enter "Part number,Description and Aircraft type". Every time the user no need to enter all these data. The person can enter any combination of data or only one text box. Actually the output data corresponding to this input entries is from five Oracle table. If we are using a single query to take data from all the five tables, the database will hang. So I written a procedure "SEARCH1",this will accept any combination of values (for empty values we need to pass NULL to this procedure) and output data from all the five tables. When I executing this procedure in SQL editor, the execution is very fast and giving exact result. I used "dbms_output.put_line" clause for outputing multiple records in my procedure. The output variables are "Serial No, part Number, Description, Aircraft type,Part No1,Part No2,Part No3,Part No4". I want to use the same procedure "SEARCH1" for outputing data in java web page.The passing argument I can take from the text box provided in java web page. I am using jdbc thin driver to connect our java web page to Oracle 9i database.
Note1 : If any combination of search item not available, in procedure itself I am outputing a message like "Part Number not found". Here I am using four words ("Part" is the first word,"Number" is the second,"Not" s the third, and "found" is the fourth) for outputing this message.Is it necessary to equalise number of words I am using here to the record outputing eight variable?
Our current development work is stopped because of this issue. So any one familier in this field,plese help me to solve our issue by giving the sample code for the same scenario.

What is needed for Web page applet?

Hi,
Please excuse my ignorance, but I want to ask what is needed to see "java" web pages? I have an old handheld that uses windows ce 2.11. When I try to pull up a java web page, I get the message that "Sorry your browser does not support java".
Do I need a java runtime environment? A java virtual machine? It is a little confusing to a newbie.

Yes, you need a java runtime environment (aka JRE aka jvm aka Java plug-in)
However I don't believe that the versions available for the "usual" 32 and 64 bit architectures will work in a CE (but I could be wrong).

Creating a a java Program which Displays a POP UP in a JSF Web Page!

Hi Folks,
I wrote a java program which checks the user credentials against the Active Directory, and if it exists displays a URL (of Web Application) with useri nfo filled automatically in the page deployed on Tomcat ver 6.x.
Now My Problem is just that I have a Pop up in the User Login page which has 3 buttons and according to that the Logic ,Navigation flows. Earlier i was just filling the info directly from Active Directory and Landed into the User Info Page. But now the functionality has changed so I have to modify it. I am not able to find how to Display the Pop up. in that page.
If anybody can help me with that I would be really greatful.

I went to the toolbar on the right, then "javascript", then "Document Java Scripts". That opened a window that had me name the script, then add it, then put in the scripting (see below). I do not know how to "place it in a document-level JavaScript (outside of a function definition) or in the initial page's Page Open event."

How do I prevent "are you sure?" pop-up when trying to exit a web page?

The "are you sure you want to leave this page?" pop up whenever I try to exit a web page is driving me crazy. There must be a way to prevent it but I've found no solution. One reply to the forum called it the "onbeforeclose" and suggested it might be eliminated in the "about:config" part of Firefox, but searching "about:config" I found no such entry. What can be done to stop this highly irritating pop up and prevent it from ever appearing again?

My problem is that none of the suggestions other than completely shutting off JAVA will stop the problem.
It is very annoying to go to a site and try to leave, and even try closing the browser and not be allowed to due to a running script.
The only way I have found out of it is to unplug the internet connection, and restart the computer. When I get the prompt about oops etc about not knowing what to do either go back to the site that gave me the problems or start over. I start over, then connect the internet.
I and others should not need to go though this with ransomeware such as the FBI attack that says it will unlock your system for $200. Or the numerous infomercials that also will no let me and many others go. This problem is also in Internet Explorer, and a few other browsers.
What does it take to keep these scripts from allowing people to leave a page or close the browser? Me and many more want to know, and because the problem exists I have OPERA as a backup browser as it does not get hijacked, but it does not have the ability to have the features and add ons that are available for FireFox.

"Java Runtime Environment" pop up + "Safari web Content" within force quit menu - two issues that won't go away and might be related?

I have this Java pop up for several weeks now and no amount of restarting my Mac will make it go away. Also, when I go to my force quit menu, it insists I have this "safari web content" running, and I have no idea what it is. They might be related, I"m not sure, but how do I make them both go away?
The java pop up prompts me to install java (and I already have installed it, multiple times, so no use there).

Uncheck Java and Javascript
Quit safari and see if those things still come up.
If they don't then you can reenable those and download an extension that blocks Javascript.
I personally don't use Java because that's where most security exploits are.

Just because it said Mozilla Security in the title bar does not mean it is from Mozilla as Mozilla nor the Firefox browser has ever done such a thing.
This sounds like one of those fake animated scanners which claims it is scanning your computer and then says you are infected with such and such. It then suggests to download something that will be what really infects your computer if using Windows. As long as you did not download and install this whatever.exe then you should be safe. Though you may want to scan your computer with whatever antivirus software you have with updated definitions just to be safer.
This sort of thing is even more obvious on being fake when Linux and Mac users can encounter these pages.

Java web start error running Asset Editor or any jnlp page

When I try to launch Asset Editor or Import/Export or any of the jnlp pages that runs using Java Web Start, I get an error. Java 7 Web start starts but It throws “Could not connect to Server. Please check your Java Web Start and Browser proxy settings”.
I read conflicting opinions on the internet as to what version of JRE/JDK is needed and potentially some issues running Java Web start with Java 7. I have 64-bit java 1.7.0_45 JDK/JRE installed and no other version. I tried installing 32-bit 1.7.0_45 as well. I have tried to run it from 32-bit as well as 64-bit browser also. All situations provide the same error.
However, when I install JRockit, it seems to work fine. But we cannot use jrockit. We have to use IBM JDK/JRE 7 eventually. Currently, the java web start does not work on Oracle Java as well as IBM JRE.
Any help is much appreciated.

I am no longer able to open or download most PDFs from web pages. I have the pop-up blocker turned off in Preferences.

In recent months I have found that I am unable to download or open PDF documents from web pages. Download links either open a blank page in a new tab or do nothing. PDFs that I am unable to view in Firefox can be viewed and/or downloaded in Safari most of the time and Chrome all of the time so I assume the problem is not my computer or operating system. I recently turned off the pop-up blocker but that did not make a difference. The problem has worsened over the past couple months, it appears that more and more web sites are moving to a different protocol for viewing/downloading PDFs. It used to happen occasionally but now I find that I am unable to view a majority - about 75% - of PDFs. I am using Firefox v18 for Mac with Mac OS X 10.6.8.

Refresh an open web page on closing an applet launch from Java Web Start

everything's possible. but this is not trivial. there is no direct connection between the html page that launched the app and the app. You can create an indirect connection by having the app notify a server process when it closes and having the page periodically polling the server for the app's status.
