1) when using popups is there any way to access the functions
of the parent from within the popup?
2) can the execution of the code in the calling function be
stopped untill the popup is closed? what im trying to say is this

currently they doSthAfterPopupCloses() function will execute
even if the pop up is still open. is there a way around
this?

Havia um programa que já veio instalado no computador mas que depois de um tempo meu antivirus acusou que ter vírus. Deletei-o e então começou a aparecer os pop-ups. Baixei vários complementos como AdBlock, Avast online Security etc mas nada deu certo, eles continuavam a aparecer nas redes sociais, como em outros sites. Specific details; p/n: GS066PA#ABG, 4 GBytes DDR2 RAM, OS Windows 7 (6.1) Ultimate Edition 64-bit Service Pack 1 (Build 7601) DirectX 11.0. LED's were working but during one of the windows automatic updates they stopped working. I don't know which update. Now I get little pop-ups "CAPS LOCK: ON" etc (black text on white background). If I rename bttray.exe to bttray1.exe and restart the laptop, that kills the pop-ups in the bottom RH corner of the screen but it does not restore the operation of my blue indicator LED's. I saw your post regarding the problems with the pop-ups and LED lights not working after a Windows Update. Most likely there was a problem with the update when it was installed. This Microsoft Support link will show you how to uninstall an update. Try uninstalling the most recent updates and the restart the notebook and see if the LEDs start working again.
If that fixes the issue then there is another section in that link entitled: I remove an update but it gets automatically installed. That will show you how to hide an update.

Firefox usually doesn't block pop-ups, especially if you allow them, but extensions and some security software can block pop-ups.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

I just updated Firefox but can't get it to display the message when a pop-up is blocked. Most times I want them blocked but sometimes I need them enabled.

You can see a pop-up block icon in the right corner of the Status Bar if you have chosen to hide the information bar at the top.
You can left-click that pop-up block icon on the Status Bar and remove the check mark from "Don't show info message when pop-ups are blocked"
You can look at these prefs on the '''about:config''' page and reset them via the right-click context menu:
Status bar icon: browser.popups.showPopupBlocker
Info bar at the top: privacy.popups.showBrowserMessage
To open the ''about:config'' page, type '''about:config''' in the location (address) bar and press the Enter key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.

Google is my search engine it will not let me put in Google when I go to type for google it throws me on Yahoo no matter what Yahoo has pretty much taken over my Internet and I don't know what to do it it's a mess. Can someone please help me I am definitely not Mav Savy.

Fix Some Browser Pop-ups That Take Over Safari.
Common pop-ups include a message saying the government has seized your computer and you must pay to have it released (often called "Moneypak"), or a phony message saying that your computer has been infected, and you need to call a tech support number (sometimes claiming to be Apple) to get it resolved. First, understand that these pop-ups are not caused by a virus and your computer has not been affected. This "hijack" is limited to your web browser. Also understand that these messages are scams, so do not pay any money, call the listed number, or provide any personal information. This article will outline the solution to dismiss the pop-up.
Quit Safari
Usually, these pop-ups will not go away by either clicking "OK" or "Cancel." Furthermore, several menus in the menu bar may become disabled and show in gray, including the option to quit Safari. You will likely have to force quit Safari. To do this, press Command + option + esc, select Safari, and press Force Quit.
Relaunch Safari
If you relaunch Safari, the page will reopen. To prevent this from happening, hold down the 'Shift' key while opening Safari. This will prevent windows from the last time Safari was running from reopening.
This will not work in all cases. The shift key must be held at the right time, and in some cases, even if done correctly, the window reappears. In these circumstances, after force quitting Safari, turn off Wi-Fi or disconnect Ethernet, depending on how you connect to the Internet. Then relaunch Safari normally. Pop-ups and new tabs opening when I try to browse

I'm having trouble with pop-ups and new tabs for 'Mackeeper' among others, launching themselves in Safari on my MacBook Air. This has only just started after having the laptop for 3 months.
Operating system: OS X 10.9.4 (13E28)
Speed: 1.4 GHz Intel Core i5
Storage capacity: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
I have tried troubleshooting by looking in 'Extensions' but there's nothing to remove. I've also tried Forum Member Linc Davis' advice, but unfortunately that's not working either.
I've tried all of the suggestions below, but nothing's working. It is driving me bonkers, so if anyone can help I would be most grateful.

How do I stop explorer from opening pop ups while browsing with firefox as default.

I just bought a new hp laptop with windows 7. The first thing I did was install firefox 3.6.12 set as default, then thunderbird. When I visit a website I get pop ups that open in windows explorer.
I installed pop-up stopper free edition, but it didn't help.
I had firefox on my old PC running windows vista and pop-up stopper, and never had this problem.
I tried disabling IE by setting up a false proxy server, which I think helped, but then I couldn't use windows media center for internet tv, etc.
This is pretty frustrating, since my old setup really worked great.

I tried to remedy it by changing the default settings, but there are three settings that are ticked and that you can't disassociate with IE - two MHTML and one .url for internet shortcuts. Presuming the last is the reason the popups open in IE?

1. First I blocked Pop-ups at Tools->Options->Content-> Block Pop-up window by checking it and then entering Exceptions.

How do i get keychain off my computer!?!?! Ive tried absolutely everything, keychain won't reset itself. Ive done everything anyone has suggested in apple support. Keep getting pop ups, mail won't work any more, i can't do ANYTHING.

Every time i log into my computer, i get bombarded with pop ups asking me for numerous passwords, i enter the CORRECT ones in for my email accounts and they keep coming up, i cant do anything to get this off. Keychains suck i dont know why anyone would have made these.
I go to the keychain preferences in finder and i try to unlock the local items keychain but it wont because i dont know the password, ive tried any password it could possibly be and it wont go through. I also cant reset it becasue it says "invalid aegument" every time i try to do that in First Aid.
Everything anyone has said to do wont help. I cant even get my mail accounts to come online but they still work in my phone. I even downloaded the newest version 10.9 or whatever and it doesnt work. My mail accounts are all screwed up, so is icloud, and messages app i cant even use it. ive restarted my computer a million times so dont suggest that either.
Oh and for those of you who are going to tell me to go to /library/keychain or anything like that, my computer says that the file or folder doestn exist.

hello, such problems are usually caused by adware on your pc. please go to ''firefox > addons > extensions'' & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and do a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner].

Your brother may have downloaded and installed something known as "adware." To see if that's the case, visit thomas_r.'s The Safe Mac website and look at the Adware Removal Guide page. You may also be able to use his Adware Removal Tool to get rid of the junk.
