  • How to include "pages" and "documents" as different tabs in most popular item webpart from site collection ?

    Hello,
    I require to customize the most popular item web part that should show the "pages" and "documents" from entire site collection in different tabs in the same web part.
    can anyone suggest me the approach on the same ?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
    It would not be an easy job to customize an existing web part which with its own design.
    As a suggestion, it would be more appropriate to create a custom new web part with the help of Search API in your scenario, there, we can create custom style more
    freely than customizing on an existing web part.

  • Refreshing Webpage increments View Count

    With the new forum upgrades that shows view counts for a post, it's now very evident that every time I reload a webpage the view count is incremented. Can this be fixed to where view count is only incremented for unique visitors, or at least once client-side cookies are deleted, or once server-side session expires, or once a certain amount of time has elapsed since last viewed, or something?
    a.lia-user-name-link[href="/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/88938"] {color: black;} a.lia-user-name-link[href="/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/88938"]:after {content: '';} .jrd-sig {height: 80px; overflow: visible;} .jrd-sig-deploy {float:left; opacity:0.2;} .jrd-sig-img {float:right; opacity:0.2;} .jrd-sig-img:hover {opacity:0.8;} .jrd-sig-deploy:hover {opacity:0.8;}

    Previously, View Count was not incremented based on just a page refresh. Or maybe, it was just not incremented if the author views his own posts. (I could be mistaken on both counts).
    I use View Count/Kudos as a metric for how "good" an Idea is on the Idea Exchange is. One that has high Kudos/Views indicates that when people read the Idea, they like it. A low ratio indicates it's a "bad" or unpopular Idea. Even though it's not the most Kudoed Idea, if memory serves I was surprised to learn my most popular Idea in terms of Kudos/Views is Support Unicode, which is wildly more powerful than my highest-Kudoed-yet-flaky-Idea, Allow Distribute Tool to Work on Wires.
    When you look at the Idea Exchange in terms of Kudos/Views, you get an interesting perspective and it's clear that more of the powerful Ideas float to the top. When you sort by Kudos alone, and I'll be quite frank here, you're getting a higher concentration of fancy-but-not-very-powerful Ideas at the top.
    Ideally, I would rather the "View Count" metric be "Unique Viewers" rather than be incremented each time a page is refreshed. This is a personal opinion, but I think objectively it's a more indicative statistic for anyone paying attention to View Count.

  • Is it possible to show play counts in Artists or Album view in iTunes 11?

    There are some beautiful new changes to iTunes 11, but also some things I really like have been taken away. One of them is being able to see my playcouts as I browse. Not just in the playlist or songs list view.
    Does anyone know if there is any way to show play counts in Artists or Album view in iTunes 11?

    typo... sorry
    I have 3 product codes that I want to report on - Mold, Repair, and Production.  For Mold and Repair, I want to print out only the top 1 job for each order.  For Production, I want to print all jobs.  I have GH1 to group by ProdCode.  GH2 groups by Orders.  Detail A section has a formula to suppress if ProdCode = Production.  Detail B suppresses if ProdCode is not Production.  I can get the suppresion to work but I don't know how to get the Top 1 to show when Detail A is shown.
    Obviously I'm new at Crystal Reports - about 3 weeks.

  • Show all versions of an item in a list view SharePoint 2010

    Hi,
    I created a task list and a view.  The list has a comments field which is set up to append new comments.  In the view, the comments are coming up with a link "View Entries".  How can I get the view to show all of the comments
    for each item in a view.
    For instance, instead of it showing the list item:
    ID  Comments
    1    View Entries...
    it would show:
    ID Comments
    1  Blah
    1  Blah Blah
    1  Blah blah blah
    Thanks,
    Jan

    I handled this a different way, however this will only work for you if you don't have a big list yet.
    1. Create a new field called "Comments Report"
    2. Copy and paste existing comments into that field
    3. Create a workflow in SharePoint Designer on Item Created and Change, under Action "Set Field in Current Item":
    Set [Comments Report] to [%Workflow Context:Current User%] ([%Workflow Context:Date and Time Started%] [%Workflow Context:Date and Time Started%]): [%Current Item:Comments%] </br></br>[Current Item:Comments Report%]
    The first date and time is Short Date, the second is Short Time.  Then hide the Comments Report within the Manage Content Type edit screen by changing it to hidden, and only display the Comments Report field where you want to view it.

  • Finder slow to show items in column, icon views (OK in list, cover flow)

    I'm seeing new perplexing slow behavior on our three-month old iMac running 10.5.5: when in column view and selecting (or in icon view and double-clicking) a folder, there is an initial five-second lag before items will appear in the next column or window; meanwhile, the bottom of the window will only show the space available until items appear and only then will it list the number of items along with space available. It's enough to make you wonder if there actually is anything in the folder while you wait. I say "initial" lag because on subsequent selection, the listing is instantaneous. However, if you log out and in again, it's back to the delay while waiting for initial listings. None of this behavior happens in list or cover flow views, but column view is my routine, so I'd like to make it snappier.
    I've gone through some basic troubleshooting steps (repairing permissions, checking Console and Activity Monitor) to no avail. I haven't run into this behavior on my 2-yr. old MBP, so I'm not sure what to look for. Any thoughts?

    Get a utility such as TinkerTool System, Onyx, etc. that has a feature to remove all .DS_Store files. If they get corrupted this could cause the problem you describe. I would also consider disabling the View preference to Show Icon Preview. Use the Show View Options in the Finder's View menu. With Leopard you may need to do this for each new Finder window you open (press COMMAND-J to open the preference dialog for the active window.) Do the same for the Desktop. Show Icon Preview can slow down the content display in the Finder initially. Once the information is cached it displays much quicker. Hence the observation that you described.
    It also may not hurt to delete the /Home/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist file in case there's problem with it. Then relaunch the Finder - open the task manager (COMMAND-OPTION-ESC,) select the Finder task and click on the Relaunch button.

  • Show view options/Show item info - only half working

    Used to be that all my photos in a folder showed the dimension under the name. Now, even tho I do:
    Show view options/ and check Show item info, only some of them have the dimensions. And what's really funny is that the portrait oriented pix have the dimensions, but the landscape oriented are missing the dimensions. What's going on here?

    must've recently done something to the Landscape ones...
    actually, the workflow I mentioned was applied to only one folder of pix, both port. and lands., but now, even other folders are affected, ones that I didn't run the workflow on. If I go to iPhoto, export some pix from last year to a folder (saved to anywhere), same results, port. have the dim.s below, landscapes do not.
    And now for something completely diff... So I have a folder of pix on my desktop I just imported from iPhoto. I see dim.s under the port.s, none under the land.s. I open a lands. with preview. I rotate ccl, then clockwise (back to original orientation, right?), save, close preview. There it is in the folder WITH the dim.s under it. What kinda ghost have I got here?
    Just to mention, I bought a Touch. It launches iPhoto when I attach it to my MBP (so it can sync the saved photos, only when I have some on the Touch). Don't know if that has anything to do with anything. Tx 4 th response, BD.

  • Export complete "Most Popular Items" report

    I need to take snapshots of the Most Popular Items (views) report for a pages library so we can analyze the data to get weekly/monthly/yearly visit trends/data for each page within the library. Our typical pages library (being used as KB's) contains 200+
    pages (in one instance, over 1,000) so exporting & combining the data for each individual page every week is just not an option. What I'm looking for is a way to export the "Most Popular Items" (accessed via Library tab > Most Popular Items)
    to an Excel spreadsheet without having to manually copy/paste/clean up each page of data. Has anyone found a way (programmatically or otherwise) to accomplish this?
    Is it possible to modify the "topreport.aspx" page to include an 'Export to Excel' type function? Or at the least, is it possible to customize the layout of that page to be more Excel-friendly (for example: show all results on 1 page or make each
    entry appear as a single row)? Is this data able to be captured through PerformancePoint?
    Any help/guidance will be greatly appreciated!
    Thank You!
    - Kyle

    Hi Kyle,
    Per my understanding, you might want to export the Most Popular Items related data to an Excel report in a specific format.
    As there is no OOTB feature can meet your requirement, custom code would be required.
    In Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Analytics namespace, there is a method “UsageAnalytics.GetAnalyticsItemData”
    which can help to “Retrieves aggregated usage data for a specified item for a specified event type”.
    A demo about how to identify view count for each item in a Pages library for your reference:

  • Most Popular Items are not populating on lists and libraries

    When I click the Most Popular items icon, the reports always show zeros.  I have been reading that installing OWA has resolved the problem but I need to know if it is REQUIRED to work properly. If anyone has any information on this, please let me know.
    I have not  been able to find solid proof it is a requirement.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    According to your description, I have met the same issue with you. The Most Popular Items wasn’t recording any views for documents in the document libraries.
    Here is a blog said that only when the documents are viewed in the Office Web App are they recorded for the Most Popular report. But it's always good to test.

  • View count lost after maintenance

    I noticed that after the maintenance of yesterday, the view counts of threads are often way off.
    Before the maintenance I had several articles that were viewed 40K+ and 24K+ times that now show only something like 311 and 257 times. The funny thing is that the number of replies seem OK.
    Where have all those views gone and more importantly, when will they be corrected? Especially newbies on these fora start by reading the most popular discussions and number of views is a good indicator, so this is something that needs attention.

    Harm,
    I had not noticed that, but did see some oddities with Replies, such as the main forum page showing that ____ had Replied ____ mins. ago, but that Reply did not show immediately, when one viewed the thread. I'd go back to the main page (not via the Back function), see the same last Reply, but the thread would be (Updated), and on second viewing the Reply would appear - just a lag of a few minutes between the notice on the main page, and the display on the thread's page.
    I also saw some rather strange time/date info for Replies, and at one point, my Profile reset to Date Joined: 2010, from the already incorrect 2002.
    Seems that much of that has sorted itself out.
    Jacob had posted of a thread in the AI forum, that had 300,000+ Views, and was growing exponentially. I need to see how it is progressing, after the maintenance. I fear that it might reach critical mass at some point, and who knows what will happen then?
    There are other oddities in a few posts, where the Date/Time of the OP is present day, but all the Replies, including Correct & Helpful show 2 - 3 years ago?

  • How to get items from a list that has more items than the List View Threshold?

    I'm using SharePoints object model and I'm trying to get all or a subset of the items from a SharePoint 2010 list which has many more items than the list view threshold (20,000+) using the SPList.GetItems() method. However no matter what I do the SPQueryThrottledException
    always seems to be thrown and I get no items back.
    I'm sorting based on the ID field, so it is indexed. I've tried setting the RowLimit property on the SPQuery object(had no effect). I tried specifying the RowLimit in the SPQuerys ViewXml property, but that still throws a throttle exception. I tried using the
    ContentIterator as defined here:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.server.utilities.contentiterator.aspx,
    but that still throws the query throttle exception. I tried specifying the RowLimit parameter in the ProcessListItems functions, as suggested by the first comment here:http://tomvangaever.be/blogv2/2011/05/contentiterator-very-large-lists/,
    but it still throws the query throttle exception. I tried using GetDataTable instead, still throws query throttle exception. I can't run this as admin, I can't raise the threshold limit, I can't raise the threshold limit temporarily, I can't override the lists
    throttling(i.e. list.EnableThrottling = false;), and I can't override the SPQuery(query.QueryThrottleMode = SPQueryThrottleOption.Override;). Does anyone know how to get items back in this situation or has anyone succesfully beaten the query throttle exception?
    Thanks.
    My Query:
    <OrderBy>
        <FieldRef Name='ID' Ascending='TRUE' />
    </OrderBy>
    <Where>
        <Geq><FieldRef Name='ID' /><Value Type='Counter'>0</Value></Geq>
    </Where>
    My ViewXml:
    <View>
        <Query>
            <OrderBy><FieldRef Name='ID' Ascending='TRUE' /></OrderBy>
            <Where>
                <Geq><FieldRef Name='ID' /><Value Type='Counter'>0</Value></Geq>
            </Where>
        </Query>
        <RowLimit>2000</RowLimit>
    </View>
    Thanks again.

    I was using code below to work with 700000+ items in the list.
    SPWeb oWebsite = SPContext.Current.Web;
    SPList oList = oWebsite.Lists["MyList"];
    SPQuery oQuery = new SPQuery();
    oQuery.RowLimit = 2000;
    int intIndex = 1;
    do
    SPListItemCollection collListItems = oList.GetItems(oQuery);
    foreach (SPListItem oListItem in collListItems)
    //do something oListItem["Title"].ToString()
    oQuery.ListItemCollectionPosition = collListItems.ListItemCollectionPosition;
    intIndex++;
    } while (oQuery.ListItemCollectionPosition != null);
    Oleg
    Hi Oleg, thanks for replying.
    The problem with the code you have is that your SPQuery object's QueryThrottleMode is set to default. If you run that code as a local admin no throttle limits will be applied, but if you're not admin you will still have the normal throttle limits. In my
    situation it won't be run as a local admin so the code you provided won't work. You can simulate my dilemma by setting the QuerryThrottleMode  property to SPQueryThrottleOption.Strict, and I'm sure you'll start to get SPQueryThrottledException's
    as well on that list of 700000+ items.
    Thanks anyway though

  • Webpart to show a subfolder of a document library

    The Microsoft Office 365 community forum suggested I share this question in MSDN as they were unable to help me:
    For the better part of a day I've been racking my head trying to figure out how to do this in SharePoint Online.  There is lots of forums on how to do it in SP 2010 by changing the CAML statement from SPD but that doesn't seem to work with SPO.
    I have a Document Library (call it "Docs").  Within the library I have a tree of nested folders (Folder 1; Folder 2, etc) and subfolders (Folder 1.1; Folder 1.2; Folder 1.3; Folder 2.1; etc).  I want to add the "Document" webpart
    to a page (Testing.aspx) and have it display at the subfolder levels (e.g. Folder 1.2).
    I've tried inserting a CAML WHERE clause in SPD unsuccessfully.  Page crashes every time it's attempted.
    I've tried inserting a Page View WP using the Folder and HTTPS option.  The validation doesn't seem to include SPO when indicating folders and the https provides a view to the whole page, not just the doc library.
    Is it possible to add a Document Library to a page and set the view to the document library to a subfolder within the library?
    Thanks

  • Most Popular Items not working for document libraries

    One of the new Library features is the "Most Popular Items" report.  In the library tab you can click on the icon to in theory, see a list of the recent and total Views of an item:
    This does work in our environment to record views for wiki or publishing page, but it is not recording views for documents regardless of their location:
    I've had several people open and view the documents, and even had 1 person edit a couple of the documents.  Even after waiting a couple of hours to make sure whatever job it is that updates the Views has run, we still aren't seeing any views.
    Any ideas?
    Nick Hurst

    We finally got Office Web Apps installed and now the Most Popular is working.  Of course that means only when the documents are viewed in the Office Web App are they recorded for the Most Popular report.  We've done some testing and opening the
    file directly in the desktop application, or even editing the file directly in the desktop application are never recorded.  My one disclaimer with this is we are using Office 2010, I'm curious if Office 2013 perhaps records views and edits using the desktop
    application?
    Luckily the latest OWA patch now allows PDF's to open in the Word Office App as well, so those views are recorded.  If you have any non office or non PDF in the library, views will not be recorded for these items unfortunately.
    I can't believe how this isn't documented anywhere.
