Hi All,
I have two fields from the same universe. Example - Field 1 called Location code , Field 2 called Location name
Location code is populated with the following values
000000000002
000000000003
000000000004 etc
Location Names are blank but I know what values they should be.
For instance
000000000002 (location code), Location Name should be (ABC)
000000000003 (location code), Location Name should be (DEF)
how can I popluate the location Name field? I tried the following code but it doesn't work.
If Location Code = 000000000002 and Location Name = " " then Location Name = "ABC" Elseif Location Code = 000000000003 and Location Name is " " then Location Name = "DEF" Elseif Location Code = 000000000004 and Location Name = " " the Location Name = "GHI" ......
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Auto-populating Infopath fields from a Sharepoint list after selecting a drop down

I currently have two lists one titled 'Book of Work' which holds details around on-going projects and the other titled 'Book of Work Amendments' which are requests submitted by users to change project details (through an infopath form).
There is a column in the BoW Amendments list entitled 'Select Project' which has a lookup to 'Project Name' in the BoW list. The aim is that when a user chooses an option from the 'Select Project' drop-down, other fields in the form such as 'Project Manager',
'Project Description' will be automatically populated with data from that row in the BoW table.
I have connected both Sharepoint Lists as data connections with BoW Amendments being the primary and BoW the secondary. If we take the Project Manager field as an example the method I have attempted is as follows:
. Create a rule with condition Select Project is not blank
. Action - Set a field's value: Field: Project Manager (BoW Amendments - Primary) Value:
Project Manager (BoW - Secondary) Add Filter: Project_Name (BoW - Secondary) =
Select Project (BoW - Primary)
Currently this is not populating the field when the project is selected in the drop down, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Josh,
This should be straight forward. You do not need BOW Amend data connection. You are creating requests in this list so this will be your Main Data Connection.
When creating the rule on the drop down, select Action:
Condition: anytime the value changes, Set a field's value - Project Manager (Main); Value - Project Manager(BOW) where Project[BOW] = Project [Main]

Depends how many responses you anticipate, I therefore realise not ideal, a workaround I have used is;
Import responses into Excel.
The Date / Time field, whilst displayed as Date and Time, is in fact encoded.
By re formatting that column in Excel to, for instance, 'Number' (with no decimal places), you get a code for the day.
If you format, with decimal places, you get the time code as well. The more decimal places you allow, the more unique (is that English?), the code.

OVS value not getting populated in field

Hi Experts,
Kindly suggest me a solution for the below given issue.
I have added three custom fileds to an already existing WD Coponent.
And also added OVS help as an input help method to these fields.
If I right click on the WD application and TEST, the application opens in browser and I am able to select the value from OVS list.
If I run the application by copying the URL and paste it in the browser, or clicking on Portal link, if we select the value from OVS list that value is not getting populated in the field.
Below is the logic I have written.

Hi Pradeep,
I don't think it really make any difference to the application run if we run from SE80 or run via application url.
Try to set the external break point in OVS PHASE3 for your user. Check if the break point is reached and data is set after selection from OVS.

End Routine - populating Target Field based on Master Data

I have an issue with my End Routine in BI 7.0. The scenario is as follows....
The Target-Fields ZSALES_OFFICE , 0SALES_CHANNEL etc. are being mapped 1:1 from their respective source fields. In addition to these target fields I have a target field 0SALESORG which I need to populate based on the values from 0COMP_CODE which is an attribute of ZSALES_OFFICE. The values of 0COMP_CODE are 9000, 9001, 9002 and 9003 respectively. The end routine condition needs to be implemented as follows...
For every 0COMP_CODE which has value 9000, 0SALESORG should be populated with the value "EAST". Similarly for every 0COMP_CODE which has value 9001, 0SALESORG should be populated with the value "WEST", for every 0COMP_CODE which has value 9002, 0SALESORG should be populated with the value "NORTH" and for every 0COMP_CODE which has value 9003, 0SALESORG should be populated with the value "SOUTH". I tried the following code but it doesnt seem to work. Could you pls help!!

Populating the field description on the screen

In the program after executing on the screen I have 3 screen fields. After entering the two fields when user hit the enter it needs to retrieve third field value from the table and have to display on the screen,and again I will click execute button the program needs to run.
But after entering the two fields and hitting the enter program executing and the third field value getting populated after the execution.

Problem while populating a field on process form- Values truncated

Hi,
I am facing a strange problem.
I have a requirement to populate Country field on AD process form based on the value of country code on the same process form which should eventually go to 'co' attribute in AD. So for eg. if the Country Code has value- 'US' then the Country field should be populated with 'United States'. This value is picked from lookup- Lookup.Locations.Country.
My adapter code works perfectly fine (checked using sysouts) it gets the proper values from the lookup but the country filed gets populated only with partial value. So instead of United States it only shows 'UNIT'. Same is for any country having more than 4 charatcters. It truncates the rest of the string and populates the field with only first 4 characters. I tried manually populating the Country field with complete country name on the process form and it works fine and the same value goes to AD also but when I run the adapter it only populates it with 4 charactetrs.
This is strange and I have no clue what could be stopping it. Any idea/experiences?

Populating other fields in a form based on the selection in a combobox field

We have done a form(masterdetail) in which we have a combobox field.When we make a selection in the field we require some two other fields to be automatically populated retrieving data from a table(which has the details required) based on the selection made.For eg. Selecting emp id(combobox) should populate empname and salary automatically in the form.Is this possible?If so how can this be done?

Populating description field in selection-screen

Hi Experts,
My WD report has a selection-screen with select-options and parameters built using IF_WD_SELECT_OPTIONS.
One of the select-options has a search help, but the value it returns is a guid, so I want to have a new read-only description field, populated with the description of the selected value, next to the input field for the guid.
How can I do this?
I tried adding a new read-only parameter field and populating it in WDDOMODIFYVIEW but I got a short dump when I tried to set the value, because the new field is not in the context of the component controller.

Hi Ben,
You will have to define the new field in the context and then programatically bind the value of the description field to this attribute.
But ideally, you can have a structure, which the two fiels (guid & description), and define a search help which is mapped to the structure, then you do not need to do any programming, the description field should get populated automatically.

Question on populating a field based on 2 other fields

Hi,
I am looking for a solution wherein I need to populate a field (say no of days) based on the other two fields selected by the user (say date from and date to). As soon as user selects the value on "date to" field, "no of days" field should be auto-populated as the value from "date to - date from". I have tried using setter and getter methods on all three field, set valuechangelistener on date to field, set auto submit to true and in the valuechangelistener event code, I am doing the calculations as mentioned in the below snippet.

I am getting NullPointerException while getting the value for date from (this.dtDateFrom). I have tried other approaches like attaching a binding to date from field, passing attributes etc but no luck. Can someone assist me in achieving this? Basically I need to populate one field automatically based on values entered on two other fields whenever tab event/user selects value on second field AND it shouldn't fire any other validations on the form (basically partial trigger).

Reading CSV file, populating text fields, saving each as image to folder

I need to generate a bunch of images by reading a CSV file of records, populating various text fields over an image and then saving each iteration as a new image in a folder. Is Illustrator the best solution to this problem? And if so can someone help me get started?

In my opinion...
While Illustrator is an awesome tool its scripting DOM is a little limited, you may have better luck using InDesign as it has a much broader DOM.
If it is just simple text manipulations and you only require an image (not a document) Photoshop may work well for this as well.
Both the InDesign and Photoshop scripting forums seem to have much more activity as well.

Table I_KOMP in PO Pricning Item User Exit is not populating CHARG field

Hi,
I have activated the user exit EXIT_SAPLMEKO_002 which is used for pricing.
But the while creating PO the structure I_KOMP is not getting populated with CHARG i.e BATCH field which I want to use for pricing calculations.
Is there any thing to do so that the CHARG field in I_KOMP strucure is populated
Please help me for the same

Populating Empty Fields for Existing Internal Table Using For All Entries

I have an internal table called itab_extract that populates without any issues in SELECT A and SELECT B below. Trying to avoid looping, I am using select DB table 'for all entries' in itab_extract. I want the empty fields in itab_extract to populate from the values in the database. However, about 200,000 entries are being appended to the table, and, the values that existed for the already populated fields in itab_extract are gone, and the new fields are populated.
I've played with the syntax and cannot seem to get it to work. My next option is a time consuming loop.
How should the for all entries syntax look to accomplish filling the empty fields in the itab?   Thank-You

           This SQL statement will be time consuming, Do not use a loop.
There are two options.
1. Select EKKO and EKPO details based on standard SAP view. (You can type EKKO in se11 view to find the correct view).
    also use one range table populate r_aedat and s_date2 in the same. So you where condition will have r_newrange and
    s_bsart. Also do not use into corresponding fields, it is not a good idea. It will increase your performance. Maintain the proper
    sequence (Based on database structure of EKKO and EKPO)
2. If you are keen to use for all entries, then first select ekko then after your sy-subrc check get the data from EKPO.
Should be like this.
select ebeln bsart aedat lifnr from ekko into table gt_ekko where aedat in r_newrange and bsart in s_bsart.
if sy-subrc eq 0.
sort gt_ekko by ebeln ascending.
select ebeln ebelp werks matnr into table gt_ekpo for all entries in gt_ekko where ebeln eq gt_ekko-ebeln.
endif.

You can use substitution function. T.Code GGB2.
Create substitution under Financial Accounting> Line Item
Click Create Substitution : System will ask How would you like to substitute
field BSEG-ZUONR : Choose Field - Field Assignment : Choose the Field Assignment
Create Click Step : Prerequisities : Double Click ABAP System Fields > Double Click System Transaction Code > Click = > Click Constant tab > Give T.Code F-43 (for eg) save
Double Click Substitute Enter BKPF-DBBLG in the blank field and save.
Now Use T.Code : OBBH
Enter Company Code; Call Point 0002 Line Item fill substitution and activation level 1 save.
If you are an End User kindly advise your FICO Consultant to do that.
