Popup in taskflows

Hello,
I am using Jdeveloper 11g with ADF faces.
I wonder if it is possible to popup an action in a bounded taskflow. My case is this:
default action of the pageflow is a list page which has "create" and "edit" buttons (create and edit pages are page fragments.) and a list below. Page logic is working good without using popups. I want to show create and edit page fragments in modal dialog popups but i could not make it work.
Is it supported to use modal dialog popups for specific views in bounded task flows with page fragments?

I'm sorry if I'm missing something here. Can't you call showPopupBehaviour with the triggerType="click" for the commandButton(Create/Edit)
E.g., I've used something like:
   <af:commandMenuItem
                  textAndAccessKey="Add &amp;Month"
                  accelerator="control M"
                  id="cmi5" actionListener="#{bindings.CreateInsert.execute}"
                                    disabled="#{!bindings.CreateInsert.enabled}">
                  <af:showPopupBehavior
                                            triggerType="click"
                                            align="endAfter"
                                            popupId="popupMonthDet"/>
                </af:commandMenuItem>
Where the popup *popupMonthDet* is an Entry form in the modal popup window.Thanks,

  • Invoking popup with taskflow train accepting parameters from a  region

    Hi All,
    I would like to know the best practice to implement the following use case. Jdeveloper used is Jdev11g.
    I have a taskflow DND as a region. The refresh property is set to if needed so that region is loaded when the input parameter is changed. The region displays the table and the contents of the table is modified in a another task flow train which is DND as a region in a popup and the popup is invoked on button click. The taskflow train in the popup accepts input paramters and the refresh is set to if Needed. The popup has to be closed at the end of task flow and also the parent region should be refreshed to reflect the updated value.
         I was not able to control the order of execution of action listener of button(to set the parameters required task flow) and show popup behavior( to invoke the popup). Show pop up behavior is executed before action listener and hence the parameters are not properly passed to the task flow.
    Here are few queries:
    1.To work around the above problem, we implemented a client listener to find and show the pop up.Is this the right way to do it?.
    2.Also at the end of the taskflow train taskFlowReturn returns to head of the task flow and the popup still remains in the window. We implemented a region navigation listener to identify the end of the task flow and hide the popup(is this right?).
    3.To refresh the parent region we find the component in the view tree and do region.getRegionModel().refresh(FacesContext.getCurrentInstance())( is this the right way to do it).
    4. The parameters are not passed properly when the table from which popup with taskflow train is invoked is the detail table of Master-detail relationship.

  • How to close PopUp (from taskflow region)???

    Can someone, please, explain how to solve this use-case:
    I have PopUp in which I put a region (in which is a small TaskFlow consiting of 2 JSFFs). I want to have Cancel and OK buttons in both JSFFs in TaskFlow. How to close PopUp from within TaskFlow ??? I saw the TaskFlow Return component in ADF TaskFlow diagram components (in palette) but haven't found any help/documentation on it. Or, should I use Return listener on command button used to rise popup (but, still, how to close popup from taskflow?)?
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks in advance,
    Marko

    mimarko,
    Regions/Taskflows are meant to be isolated reusable components. They are not meant to
    have knowledge of their parent or container. That said, code contained with in a region should not attempt to reach out an modify the parent. Regions can fire contextual events that can be handled by a listener declared in the parent pages pageDef. However, attempting to close a popup from a context listener would be bad practice. The easiest fixt is to put the popup in the taskflow for your region. That will create a reusable popup that you can use through out your application.

    Is there any other way to use taskflow inside popup?
    with Regards,
    WP

    I currently use task flows inside of popups. Here are a couple criteria though
    1. Your task flow will have to be fragments.
    2. One the task flow that will open up inside the popup, you will need to change some of the attributes:
    Run as Dialog => true
    Display Type => dialog
    The link that will transfer control to the task flow can be setup like:
    UseWindow => true
    WindowEmbedStyle => inlineDocument
    and then specify the modality of the window etc. But that should be enough for you to get that working.
    Any questions, let me know.

  • ADFC-0619: Authorization check failed implementing popup through taskflow

    Hi All,
    I receive the error ADFC-0619: Authorization check failed: '/WEB-INF/main-task-flow-template.xml#main-task-flow-template' 'VIEW'. when accessing the taskflow that will show as a popup as described in this blog: http://andrejusb.blogspot.com/2013/03/reusable-adf-region-with-dialog.html. I created a sample application and I have it working as expected.  The sample app has no security configured.  When I put the functionality into our main app the error occurs.  I have checked the jazn-data.xml and have granted a role to both the task flow and the web page.
    Our app is setup where I have a task flow template that most taskflows inherit from.  The calling page is inherited from the template which uses page fragments.  The taskflow for the popup is not inherited from the template and does not use page fragments.
    I am using 11.1.1.6.  The error happens when deploying to the Integrated server as well as a local WLS.  I read a few forum posts on this subject and some folks removed the anonymous role.  I have this role defined but is is only used for my login page so I don't want to remove it from there.
    Appreciate the help as this is blocking me from working on the functionality within the popup.
    Thank you - Rudy

    Resolved.  Our Application is setup as described by Jobinesh in the book "Oracle ADF Real World Developer's Guide".  In this case we have a separate application called "Common", within that we have projects for the ADFFrameWorkExtension, CommonModel, CommonUtilities and CommonUI.  The CommonUI project contains the main-task-flow-template and errorPage.jsff as well as the MainTemplate.jspx.  Each of these projects are deployed as a jar and imported into the main project.
    In the jazn-data.xml under Resource Grants, Resource Type = Task Flow, check the option to "Show task flows imported from ADF libraries".  This showed the main-task-flow-template which I granted the anonymous-role view action.
    When I run it now shows the popup.

  • How to call one popup of taskflow overlaps another popup of taskflow in separate dialogs.

    Hi everyone,
    I have 3 taskflows named taskflow1, taskflow2, taskflow3. In taskflow1, I have a button (title: "call taskflow2")  to call taskflow2 as dialog. When taskflow2 is shown as dialog, in taskflow2, I also have another button (title: "call taskflow3") to call taskflow3 as dialog. When I do in this way, I have a trouble is the taskflow3 is displayed in the frame of taskflow2. I don't want that. I want taskflow3 dialog to be displayed in the separate with taskflow2 dialog.
    Do you have any ideas about my trouble and could you please help me to solve my problem.
    Thank you very much!

    Dear Timo,
    As your idea:
    TimoHahn wrote:
    For me this sounds like it's designed. A dialog is shown in the frame of it's parent. That is what the dialog is for. The natural thing to do is to call the third taskflow from the first , this way they are in parallel.
    A dialog can be set to be modal, in which case you can't do anything outside the dialog until you close it, or nonmodal in which case you can lter the dialog but are still allowed to change the surrounding frame. In this case you have to be careful that the data you see and change in the dialog does not overwrite anything you changes in the underlying frame.
    Timo
    I tried to follow your idea to open the third taskflow from the first. But I don't know any way to do that. If you used to do this, could you please help me? I spent much time to find a way to open multiple dialogs in separate inline windows, but not successful. I appreciate you so much for your help.
    Thank you so much.

    TaskFlow Region as a Pop Up inside another TaskFlow Region
    Regrads
    Peter

    Hi Frank,
    I am looking for a solution to develop a popup as a template or component in ADF since our app uses lots of popups. I try to build own buttons, like SAVE, APPLY, and CANCEL buttons.
    I have listened to many of your video and code corners. The following video shows the java controlled popup. It invokes a page fragment in the popup. The questionis : can this method used to popup a taskflow ?
    http://download.oracle.com/otn_hosted_doc/jdeveloper/11gdemos/ADF_Insider_Essentials/AdfFacesDialogOkCancelHandling/AdfFacesDialogOkCancelHandling.html
    I have two task flows, popup-parent-taskflow.xml and popup-taskflow.xml.
    The managed bean in popup-parent-taskflow.xml binds to the popup and table. The managedBean is in the Request scope
    The managed bean defined in the popup-taskflow.xml can't access to the popup and table. How is the table get refreshed ?
    "There is a pattern that explains how to do similar with Page Fragments, but honestly this is quite a lot of coding and doesn't allow your task flow to decoratively return values."
    Could you explain this statement ? Is this example you talked about ?
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/adf/learnmore/39-taskflow-in-popup-169181.pdf
    I would appreciate if you could suggest a best way to do popup for my case and provide the example for it.
    Thank you !

  • Page Template Popup with Dynamic Region TaskFlow

    Hi.
    I have a Page Template that is used extensively in my application to provide a consistent explorer panel containing tree links to various pages in the application. I'm trying now to enable users to edit configuration via a tree link. I would like to implement this as a Popup in the page template which contains a dynamic region that contains a bounded Task FLow (so I can control the transaction for the edit activity). I'm running into all manner of issues...
    The Tree node is defined as follows:
    <f:facet name="cognition_model_view.viewRepListVO">
           <af:group id="pt_g4">
              <af:commandImageLink id="pt_ot15" text="#{node.Viewname}"
                                                action="callRouter"
                                                actionListener="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.viewsGoActionListener}"
                                                icon="/pics/folder-icon.png"
                                                shortDesc="View: #{node.Viewdesc} | Filter: #{node.Filtername}"
                                                partialSubmit="true"/>
              <af:commandImageLink id="pt_ot16"
                                                icon="/pics/edit1.png"
                                                shortDesc="Edit View Config"
                                                partialSubmit="true">
                     <af:setPropertyListener from="#{node.Appname}"
                                                       to="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewAppName}"
                                                       type="action"/>
                     <af:setPropertyListener from="#{node.Viewname}"
                                                       to="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewName}"
                                                       type="action"/>
                     <af:setPropertyListener to="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewType}"
                                                       from="#{node.Sourceview}"
                                                       type="action"/>
                     <af:showPopupBehavior popupId="::pt_p_edView"
                                                       triggerType="click"/>
              </af:commandImageLink>
            </af:group>
    </f:facet>The property listeners are to hold values that will be passed as parameters to the region's task flow.
    The Popup is defined here:
    <af:popup id="pt_p_edView" contentDelivery="lazyUncached"
                  popupCanceledListener="#{backingBeanScope.editPopupTFHandler.cancelPopup}"
                  popupFetchListener="#{backingBeanScope.editPopupTFHandler.showPopup}"
                  binding="#{backingBeanScope.editPopupTFHandler.editPopup}">
            <af:panelWindow id="pt_pw1"
                            title="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewName} - Edit View Configuration"
                            contentHeight="250" contentWidth="500" stretchChildren="first" modal="true">
                <af:region value="#{bindings.dynamicRegion1.regionModel}" id="pt_r1"/>
            </af:panelWindow>
        </af:popup>The taskflow binding for the template is as follows:
        <taskFlow id="dynamicRegion1" taskFlowId="${backingBeanScope.editPopupTFHandler.dynamicTaskFlowId}" xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/binding">
          <parameters>
            <parameter id="inputApplicationName" value="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewAppName}"/>
            <parameter id="inputViewType" value="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewType}"/>
            <parameter id="inputViewName" value="#{backingBeanScope.templateBacking.editViewName}"/>
          </parameters>
        </taskFlow>The managed bean to hold the dynamic taskflowId (editPopupTFHandler) is referenced in the adfc-config.xml file at "backingBean" scope, and looks like this:
    public class editPopupTFHandler {
        private String taskFlowId = "/WEB-INF/editViews/editViewsTF.xml#editViewsTF";
        private String emptyTaskFlowId = "";
        private String currentTaskFlowId = taskFlowId;
        private RichPopup editPopup;
        public editViewPopupTFHandler() {
        public String getDynamicTaskFlowId() {
            return currentTaskFlowId;
        public void cancelPopup(PopupCanceledEvent pce) {
            currentTaskFlowId = emptyTaskFlowId;
        public void showPopup (PopupFetchEvent popupFetchEvent) {
               currentTaskFlowId = taskFlowId;
        public void setEditPopup(RichPopup editPopup) {
            this.editPopup = editPopup;
        public RichPopup getEditPopup() {
            return editPopup;
    }If I don't define the bean at backingBean scope, I get a Target Unreachable error from any page using the template.
    When I attempt to use the link to the popup, the popup displays but the region content does not. Is this a scoping issue?
    Additionally, after pressing combinations of the 2 commandimagelink components, the first link stops submitting... this may be a side-effect of the region display though?
    Again, as I'm quite new to ADF I don't know how to overcome or avoid these issues, or whether there is a better method to achieve an edit capability in a popup window from a page template.
    Thanks for your help. I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.2.1.0 by the way.

    Hello again. I've managed to get the dynamic region displaying once I restarted JDeveloper and re-created the Region and backingBean. This has happened before - is JDeveloper known to get "confused" (like me!) in this way?
    There are still issues though. The backingBean contains a PopupCanceledListener as follows:
        public void cancelPopup(PopupCanceledEvent pce) {
            System.out.println("CANCEL POPUP - Current Task FLow now empty");
            currentTaskFlowId = emptyTaskFlowId;  // where emptyTaskFlowId = ""
            System.out.println("CANCEL currentTaskFlowId = " + currentTaskFlowId);
        }Simple enough, but the dynamicTaskFlowId is not holding its cleared value. Subsequent call to the getter shows a non-null value...?
    The Popup has the ContentDelivery="lazyUncached" and ChildCreation="deferred". The TaskFlow Binding has Refresh="default" and activation="deferred". With these property values the Popup is displays the correct value on its first use but then keeps that same value on any subsequent selection. I don't know whether this is because of the TaskFlow not correctly resetting or something else...
    Can anyone help me please. This is beyond frustrating. The behaviour of these various property settings is not at all predictable for me... Thanks.

  • How to create Popups in task flows

    Hi,
    Can any one help how can we create popup in taskflow. My requirement is i need to do create/edit operation on a table using task flows i have followed the "http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/btf/bounded_task_flow.html#t6" for create/edit operations in this it's navigating to new page, my case i need to invoke a popup instead of page.
    can any one help me.

    You need to create a separate tf for the edit and use that as a region in your search page.

  • Passing parameter from a page to another task flow.

    Hi,
    I have a taskflow and that contains views View1 and View2 . View1 contains a popup and taskflow(TF1) is dropped as region in this popup. View2 has 2 taskflows ( TF2 & TF3) and are linked as,
    View1 -----------edit------> VIew2
    In TF1's backing bean I have a list which I would like to pass to TaskFlow(TF2) in VIew2.
    Let me know if there's a way for doing this.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Priya.R

    I would say, that you shouldn't drop TF1 in a popup, but run it as inline-document instead (see button properties).
    Then you could return your list from TF1 into some View1 bean (taskflow or view scoped, I would say) and so in View2 you list would be available - all you need is to pass it to TF2 as a parameter.

    Hi,
    I am getting "Error 500--Internal Server Error" while opening a bounded taskflow as a popup from another bounded taskflow containing page fragments. The popup taskflow contains jspx pages. Hi Frank,
    Thanks for the reply. I am using it as an inline popup. I am trying to create command links dynamically in an iterator. When a link is clicked a popup window opens. The text of the link is passed to the popup window by creating a variable in the session scope ( I even tried request scope) by an action listener in the backing bean.
    I tried to create another simple application with a static command button which passes its text to popup window through a session scope variable. It worked fine. I am not sure why the same procedure is not working in my original application. Can you give me a hint what could possibly go wrong according the exception stack trace ?
    Thanks,

  • How to create a popup in an ADF train taskflow?

    I have a Train taskflow. Then i create a popup window in one of the buttons. When i run the JSF as an independent page, the popup works. But when i run the taskflow, the popup doesn't work.
    Is it a bug or is there some way to create a popup in a train.
    i have created the popup like this:
    1. i have created a control flow between the main JSF and popup page
    as dialog:Add.
    2. And in the button in the parent window, i have made the usewindow to true and action to dialog:Add.
    Any kind of helf would be very helpfull.

    Hey Pavle,
    You always ask the most interesting questions. ;) See my answers inline.
    <p>
    How to include another JSFF/JPSX in Rich dialog (beside inclusion of another region)?
    </p>
    <p>
    <b>Ric:</b> You can include a JSFF/JSPX using the jsp:include tag and a subview. Note that you will not be able to use ADFm within the fragments.
    </p>
    <p>
    If there is no other way than inclusion of region, how to make that new region "transaction-free" (as usually the pop-ups are for read-only operations and overhead of TaskFlow transaction is unnecessary). Generally, how to make Task Flow without transaction (if transaction imposes significant overhead – I'm not sure). (the documentation on Task Flows is unfinished in TP). And, finally, if there is no possibility of including JSFF without creating task-flow, is it possible to propose extension to ADFc allowing single JSFF to be included in region without explicitly defining task-flow for that single fragment.
    </p>
    <p>
    <b>Ric:</b> I think the above suggestion should work for static cases. However, if you
    are using bindings then the regions is the only approach available. This is not as heavy-wieght as it would appear. There is a way for regions or bounded taskflows to share datacontrols with with the parent page, which alleviates the concern of additional transactions. This feature can be found in the next preview. Note, this does not prevent you from defining a single page taskflow--in the one page case. I would like to see the feature extended so that if a region contains a single jsff reference there is no need to define an additional taskflow config file.
    </p>
    Thanks,
    Ric

  • Taskflow context not maintained with ADF popups

    JDev build: JDEVADF_11.1.1.4.0_GENERIC_101212.1926.5912
    A coworker also reproduced this using JDEVADF_11.1.1.4.0_GENERIC_101227.1736.5923
    This is a simple WebCenter custom app created using JDev. I'm seeing exceptions when canceling a popup that contains a taskflow (the DocViewer taskflow). The popup was launched from another taskflow called Content Presenter. Upon canceling the popup (i.e., clicking the 'x' in the upper right corner), I see this error message in a javascript alert:
    "Target Unreachable, 'presenterNavigationBean' returned null
    ADF_FACES-60097:For more information, please see the server's error log for an entry beginning with: ADF_FACES-60096:Server Exception during PPR, #1"
    In the server console, I see these exceptions (abbreviated to keep this post a bit smaller, but I can provide the entire stack trace if necessary):
    java.lang.IllegalStateException: The expression "#{bindings.rbxzy5vg6jr1.regionModel}" (that was specified for the RegionModel "value" attribute of the region component with id "oc_4478173184region1") evaluated to null.
    This is typically due to an error in the configuration of the objects referenced by this expression.
    If it helps, the expression "#{bindings.rbxzy5vg6jr1}" evaluates to "null".
    If it helps, the expression "#{bindings}" evaluates to "portal_cpPageDef". Now using an empty RegionModel instead.

    (basically the same thing as above repeats a few times) presenterNavigationBean is the bean for the Content Presenter taskflow which launched the popup.
    The steps I'm taking to see this problem are:
    1. Launch JDev and create a WebCenter app, accepting all defaults. This requires the WebCenter extension, i.e., oracle.webcenter.framework_bundle.zip
    2. Create a content repository connection to an Oracle Content Repository
    3. Create a jspx in Web Content/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pages using the global page template (select that checkbox). I typically call it cp.jspx, thus the references to "portal_cpPageDef" in the exceptions above.
    4. Open the jspx in source view, place the cursor after the pageTemplate tag, and add a "page customizable" component from the Oracle Composer group in the Component Palette. Save the page.
    5. Open Web Content/oracle/webcenter/portalapp/pagehierarchy/pages.xml and drag your jspx to the root of the hierarchy. Save all pages.
    6. Run the Web Content/index.html page.
    7. Login using weblogic/weblogic1
    8. Click on the page you created in the toolbar
    9. Click "shift + ctrl + E" to put the page in edit mode.
    10. click the "Add Content" button (it launches a popup)
    11. In the popup, click on "Content Management"
    12. Click on "Add" next to the Content Presenter taskflow and close the popup
    13. Now select an HTML document from the content repository by using the Content Presenter wizard (click on the first wrench icon in the chrome). If you don't have one, you'll have to add it to the repository.
    14. In the Content Presenter wizard, select the "Preview" page
    15. click the "Open in Document Viewer" button. This launches the DocViewer taskflow in an ADF popup.
    16. Click the cancel button in the upper right corner.
    17. This is when the javascript alert will show the errors mentioned above. The server console in JDev will show the stack traces.
    Please let me know if this is a configuration issue on my end or a bug within ADF. I'll monitor this thread closely today to provide any information that could be helpful asap. Thank you.

    It's the bean that the Content Presenter taskflow uses. All I did was create a page using the global page template and added the Page Customizable component to it, then customized the page to have an instance of the Content Presenter taskflow. I can use Content Presenter normally until I attempt to edit an HTML doc (which launches the DocViewer taskflow in an ADF popup). At that point I start seeing binding errors, like the taskflow context is lost.

  • Issue with nested inline popup taskflow while try to return back to parent.

    Hi Adf Experts,
    I have been facing one issue. Would you please give me how can I solve this issue which address my scenario. I greatly appreciate your help.
    My Scenario:
    I have ViewA which opens inline popup page ViewB. On ViewB also have another inline PopUp page ViewC (i.e. nested inline popup). On ViewB, there is back button which taskFlow return call and navigate back to ViewA. I need to implement same Back trigger event from ViewC (Back Button)to ViewA. For this, I am using ReturnListener on ViewB button which opens ViewC inline page. On returnListener, I have used ViewB back button ActionEvent queue. like:
         RichCommandButton buttonBack;
         public void onReturn( ReturnEvent returnEvent )
              ActionEvent ae = new ActionEvent(buttonBack);
              buttonBack.queueEvent( ae );
    Output Scenario:
    While running from ViewB, it fires same Back Button action from ViewC back button. No issue at all.
    But when I run from ViewA upto ViewC page and on fire back button, I have been facing issue like below.

    Hi,
    I have a similar issue.
    I have a page (search page) from where i open another dynamic tab(UI dynamic tab shell pattern).
    In this second tab, I open a new jspx using "dialog:open" in my taskflow (of the second tab).
    Now when I navigate to my first tab with advanced search and try executing my search, a managed bean method is called where I have a line of code as follows:
    DCIteratorBinding statusIter = (DCIteratorBinding)getBindings().get("myIterator");
    At this line the statusIter comes as "null" and hence my search fails with the following exception:

    Is there any specific setting which should be done in a taskflow or a page which opens another page using dialog:openwindow?? And why does this effect any other taskflow?
    Any pointers to resolve this are appreciated.

    If user clicks on Ok, i am just returning from TaskFlow.
    Every thing works fine but once in a while, I am facing HTTP 500 error on TaskFlow popup.
    I don't have enough logs also to analyze.
    If any one comes across this problem, please help me.
    Note: every time control enters to popup TaskFlow, TaskFlow get passivates.

    I am unable to log into my Facebook page no matter what I do. If you can help thanks, if not then Facebook is like the other pages that don't work. You ask for help and they tell you a bunch of junk and it still don't work.
