Portal Building Blocks - missing EPA files
Looking to obtain the EPA Files for SAP best Practices Building Blocks - particularly looking for BP_R3_ALL.EPA
which is listed at:
http://help.sap.com/bp_epv260/EP_EN/html/epa_files.htm
But all links to files on this page do not work? Anyone have an alternative location I can get the required files for the building blocks???

Error importing EPA file into Enterprise Portal
I am trying to work on EPA file deployment. For a simple test case, I have created a single folder, created a transport file and exported to an EPA file.
I then delete the folder and try to import the EPA file.
I get "Error extracting the package file. Check the log files for details."
I have trouble figuring out which log file to check so I searched for all .log files in my "c:\usr" directory. The only one I can see recently changing is "server.1.log" and all it says is:
#1.5#000F1F8D5971007300000000000010EC000403F83CF255F3#1130264616165#/System/Server#sap.com/irj#com.sap.portal.transport#admin#1078####74fdf150458411daad9b000f1f8d5971#SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_39##0#0#Error#1#/System/Server#Plain### [com.sapportals.portal.transport.ui.ImportComponent] Error while extracting EP6.0 package C:

Any ideas?Hi Derek,
You can find detail messages in the \usr\sap\SID\JC00\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\defaultTrace.X.trc
file. Please check that first and you'll see more detail.

Revert Portal transport package .epa file and .sca file
Hi,
Recently we have imported one transport package .epa file (through transport package import editor) and imported one .sca file (though SDM) in Portal Quality system.
Now we want to revert both the transport package .epa file and .sca file in Portal Quality system.
Can anyone tell us the procedure?
Thanks
PhaniHi Phani,
You can find the previous version of SDA/SCA's in the following path
Go to SDM -- Deploy tab-- there is little black arrow pointing up in the bottom right corner. Click on it to expand the menu and one of the options will be "Deploy SDAs/SCAs that have any version.
Please refer this link for more information
To undeploy .sca
Hope this helps you...

Error while importing the epa file..help needed urgently..
Hi,
I am facing a severe problem, I have developed a portal application, designed the pages, iViews roles etc and exported to a file and later downloaded the epa file.
For testing purpose, I deleted my content folder of the pages and iViews from the content administration. But when i tried to import the file, I am getting an error message
<b>" Error extracting the package file. Check the log files for details. "</b>
When i lokked the log file, i found the exception as
<b>" [com.sapportals.portal.transport.ui.ImportComponent] Error while extracting EP6.0 package C:
usr
sap
J2E...
MyEpafile.epa "</b>
and below the erro i found an exception message as <b>"error in opening zip file"</b>
When i tried to extract the file using winzip, I can extract it with out any problem..
Can you please tell me how this happened?
Please help me to solve this problem,
Thankyou,
Sudheesh...Hi Christopher,
Well, I have solved the problem. But I don't know whether it will be the correct technical way.. Because i have to solve the same under a very little time constraint. The solution is given below,
I unzipped the epa file which i have downloaded using winzip. inside the extracted file, i found a zip file with the same file name and extension. when i uploaded that file, it worked fine with out any problem. I tried the same many times. and each time i got the same results.
Please try this if you are still facing the problem..
Best regards,

ClassName property missing in file for Web Dynpro for ABAPSSO layer
We are trying to create an ABAP webdynpro iview using XML content creation in EP7.3. Below link points to the XML used to create the iview. After importing this xml, iview is being created in specified PCD location.
http://www.freeimagehosting.net/26365
But when we preview the iview, we are getting an exception which says

We checked by creating another abap dynpro iview for the same application using iview template and that is working fine.

IWeb site update problem-app missing images/files, but site is ok
I created and uploaded a web site to my .mac (yeah, MobileMe) and it displays just fine. I have visited it from a couple of different comps. The problem is that I want to add/update files/pages, but when I open iWeb, several of the images/audio files do not display: shows a x-through and a centered question mark. They are in the sites idisk folder and in the laptop's copy of the files. When I try to replace the missing images/files by dragging onto the iWeb drafting page the following message appears: "the file can't be used because you don't have access privileges, or because it contains no content or was corrupted."
I'm afraid to make any updates for fear of losing what is already published.
Extra info: have family pack and am switching between .mac accounts because iWeb published to the iDisk corresponding to the account/sub-account you are logged into (BIG pain in the ***! It should have a password protected account toggle like Panther used). I have double-checked that the files for this site are only in the one iDisk account (am redirecting my masked domain url to the .mac iDisk server-works great.
Any ideas? The upgrade from '06 to '08 which changed the domain.sites to a domain.sites2 caused more confusion, disasters and lost web sites than the bug ridden introduction of '09.
I ended up rebuilding all my sites from new, blank domain files in '08 and the conversion to '09 went OK apart from '09's nasty habit of changing media file links.
Fortunately, I have very little QuickTime content and don't use the iWeb Photos, Albums Blog or Podcast templates.
Most iWeb built sites look pretty awful when users stick to the default page width. I start from a Blank, Black or white page and trash everything on it.
I use the "standard" 980 px page width and most, if not all, of the iWeb themes do not adapt to this.
This is why I constantly ask the question. "Do the iWeb developers actually build any websites with the application?".
Perhaps if they did, we would get more bug free releases and some of the features that "real life" users are requesting. -
What is the transaction code for running Building block & ECatts?
Hai guys,
I am building a new organisation structure using Building block Library. Can somebody tell me which transaction Code to use as well as from where I can download the variant files?
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
maheshwaran. IHello Maheshwaran,
For the beifit of others looking for this question,
To create a building block : /smb/bbi -- > building block builder. --> create new Building blocks.
This has to be attached to a scenario and inturn to a solution.
To downlad the variant files : Go to Transaction SECATT --> Enter the eCatt configutation name --> click on display.
Now in the Edit Menu, you can see the option to download variant files.

Error report form iTunes Store: Missing Nib File
After having uploaded the .zip-file to the iTunes Store (update of an existing app), I got the following error-report from the iTunes store: Missing Nib File - The referenced nib file "MainWindow.nib" was not found in the application bundle. Is it possible that this error occurred while creating the app in the Adobe app builder or where do I have to look for this error? The first uploading of the original app worked without an error. What do you recommend me?
Thank you very much for an answer.

RIDICULOUS Crystal Reports Server XI R2 SP4 - Installing - missing cab file
Unsympathetic SAP rep Don Williams wrote in a now closed thread,
Subject: Re: Crystal Reports Server XI R2 SP4 - Installing - missing cab file : m293.cab
Message: Hi All,
There is no incremental SP4 service pack for Crystal Reports Server XI R2 and no plans to build one.
Your ONLY option is to back up your CMS and Data store, un-install and then install from the FTP link.
The downloadable file from the support site is broken and they are working on fixing it and it is/will be the full build also.
Closing this post now.
Thank you for your understanding
Don
Frankly, this is outrageous. This issue has been open for close to 5 months. Rather than simply updating the SP4 incremental update with the correct files, SAP's brilliant response is to tell us that the file is STILL broken, but ***** you, whenever we fix it it will be the full build only. Well, thanks! That makes it so much easier. Rather than looking at Crystal Reports 2008, maybe it's time to suck it up and look elsewhere,
Here's hoping SAP decides to do the right thing. I'm sure everyone on the original thread would be interested.Hi Falk,
Yes, I am downloading it from a Win2003 machine. The browser is IE7.
I can even see what's inside the m293.cab, and it is not the file mentioned on the error message...
This is the m293.cab content (one file):
tslv.dll.7ADA0B91_68E0_4E90_AD3D_23C9E3079BAB
The file doesn't seem to be corrupted, it just doesnt have what was expected by the installer software.
I tried downloading it again and had the same result... These are the installation files that I've already tried with the same result:
- crsxir2win_sp4.exe (from [https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009887052008E/crsxir2win_sp4.exe])
- 1401492085.exe (from [https://businessobjects.subscribenet.com/control/bobj/product?cert_num=48316663&child_plneID=30801])
The next one was not the rigth package:
- boXIwin_sp2.zip (from [https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/012002523100005931922008E/boXIwin_sp2.zip])
I uploaded the servicepack4 part of the log where the error appears:
[ftp://ftp.businessobjects.com/pub/incoming/sp4LogPiece.txt]

How to Open .EPA files.
Hi Gurus,
I have one file with .EPA extention, which i got from SDN on Portal Development Kit.
Please help me out how to open and consume that file.
Thanks in Advance,
Udaya BhaskarHi Uday,
EPA file is created when we transport any package. this file is contains all the iviews, pages, worksets, roles that you have to transport to another system. so if you want to see that contatints and upload it you need to get that containts in another server i.e you need to import that. for importing this containts you need to do following things :
In SAP portal you must have System Administrator role or you can take your colleges id who has that role. then do the following Steps for opening the items that are present in the .EPA file.
1) Click on System Administrator
2) Click on Import option
3) Then there is Source for Package Files opetion and you have to select one of the opetion.
a) client : this option you can select if you have that .EPA file in your local system. then you can browse it and upload it.
b) server : this option you can select if you have that file in another server and you have to browse that file from server and then upload it.
4) after uploading file you can get all the contents that are present in that .EPA file.

When Building Blocks Explode in Microsoft Word
Pushing out a Word 2010 SP1 template to approximately 150+ machines. There are several building blocks on the template, two of which are causing me problems. The major difference seen is that these problematic building block options contain nested content
controls.
When I click the option in the building block with nested content controls, the building block control stretches to 19 pages. The option should only be the length of an ordinary five sentence paragraph.
Fired up a Virtual Machine to see how the template behaved there. It works fine. Tried on a laptop... no problem. This led me to believe that since I had a dev machine with visual studio and vsto and such, that my machine was just 'special'.
Until... one of my beta users ran into the same problem with there basic non dev laptop.
Have tested on about 10 machines and so far it is just the 2 that are having problems. Have un/re installed which was a no go.
Any ideas as to what causes this? Missing Update, Registry Setting, Word SettingDo not delete normal.dot or normal.dotm!
You can rename these as a diagnostic but deleting them can cost you many hours of work without providing any benefit.
Is Word 2010 the program on each computer?
Did any of them have earlier versions of Word on them? When they open Word from scratch, do any of them show "Compatibility Mode" in the title bar?
