Portal Page Builder Error in Portal Callable Object

We have created a callable object in GP of type Portal Page or IView
When we try execute the action from UWL, the following error it shows,
The portal page builder required to execute this callable object is not available.
The same concept we tried in 2004s, its working fine.
Any idea about this error in ce. Highly urgent..

But whenever I try to create it gives me a RunTime Exception:

    Please suggest some way out,
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
How many actions  are there in your process?. Is it having only one action that is Web service?.
I think, The process should at least contain one UI action.
If your process is having multiple actions, there may problem with other actions. Test the web service action seperately to confirm this.
    Thanks

  • Calling portal framework page from non portal page

    Hi,
We are having some difficulty in passing control from the non portal pages to
    the Portal Pages.
To explain you more elaborately, I am writing down the scenario:
Both our portal and non portal pages reside under the same web application folder.
We have a Portal Page containing one portlet.Clicking on one of the hyperlink
on this portlet page takes us out of the portal environment where we are doing
    some processing.
(Why we are going out of the portal environment is because we want to call the
existing pages as it is and our intention is not to make the existing pages portal
    enabled to start with).
Somewhere down the journey on the non portal page, there is a requirement to call
    the Portal Framework page.
We can call the portal Framework page from the non portal page by hard coding
the URL of the Portal page by writing something like this in href:
    http://localhost:7501/application?origin=content.jsp&event=bea.portal.framework.internal.portlet.event&pageid=home&portletid=bachome_carsearchlink&wfevent=link.next
But this is not what we want. We want to call the portal page without hard coding
    the URL.
If we use portlet tag in non portal page to call the Portal Framework page ( <a
    href="<portlet:createWebflowURL event="link.next"/>">Next Page</a>), it throws
us error "Could not find current Portlet State" which is quite understandable,
because portlet state is now lost.
Is there any way we can achieve this .
    Any suggestions or ideas?
    Thanks
    Ajay

    Hi
i think you should use portal:createPortalPageChangeURL (you are effectively changing
    your portal page) .
if you want to invoke a specific event in your portlet webflow you can either
write a RefreshControllerIP or use WebflowJSPHelper.createWebflowURL.
bear in mind if you have urls that directly go to an intermediate event in the
    portlets webflow you may need
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/codelibrary/code/portlet_pp.jsp
    regards

  • Adding Portlet at Runtime to the Portal, displaying Empty Error Message Box

    Hi All,
I had developed a Webcenter Portal Application, in which i had included runtime editing capabilities for pages and customization at user level - deployed successfully in PS5 Server.
I also made another simple Portlet Producer Application - deployed successfully in PS5 Server.
While, i try to register the Portlet in the Portal application at runtime, through Portal Console - Successfully tested the connection and registered.
But, when i try to add the registered Portlet to Portal Page at runtime, through Portal Console - Failure with Empty Error Message Box popup.
Further analyzed the Managed Server logs of both WC_CustomPortal and WC_CustomServicesProducer. Both the logs are pointing to same Exception.
Kindly provide your inputs on this.

  • How to run .EXE files from Linux Portal page?

We have an IIS web server that runs a Photoshow_player.exe slide show program. I'm not sure if this can run from Linux Portal, but we are trying.
The link in an IIS web page looks like this:
    <a> href="file:///\\mulsrv22\share\PCS\PhotoshowPlayer.exe" title="clean slate">clean slate</a>
Portal is installed and running from two Linux servers. If I create a link using the above syntax, I get "can not display page" browser errors.
I copied the entire PCS directory from the Windoz box to a Portal web_dav folder, but running the .EXE link from that Portal page gives errors indicating that the /PDS/data/.XML and /PCS/data/.jpg files can not be found.
Any ideas on how I can run this slide show from Linux Portal?
    Thanks.

if you just need to run a slideshow in you portal, why don't you use a javascript slide show ?
Just "googleize" and you'll find tons of javascripts taht can do that.
    for example : http://www.barelyfitz.com/projects/slideshow/

  • How can i find the requested portal page in custom login.jsp

We are using a customized login, logout and change password page built in JSP.
The wwsso_ls_configuration_info$ has been updated to point to the customized
JSP pages. Everything works fine so far but we would like to show different
content inside the customized login page depending on which portal page that
    was requested.
eg suppose the user requested a page that belong to page group X we want to
show login page with html content relevant to page group X. If page group Y is
requested, then it show relevant information for Y.
The ssousername, password field and other parameter needed for login page will
be left to the standard names defined by oracle login requirements.
For this purpose, we need to find which portal page was requested by user in
the customized login.jsp( as users tend to bookmark the portal page eg.
    http://domain/portal/page?_pageid=33,30983,33_30985&_dad=portal&_schema=PORTAL)
Once i know the requested portal page, i can parse the _pageid to get the page group.

Were you ever able to get this issue resolved? I would be interested in the solution if one was ever found. Thanks.

  • Portal Page

    1. There is minimum customization I can do with portal page by adding a HTML Portlet and writing my own html tags to the content area. I would like to know where the page resides, so I can access the source code and customize the whole page to my needs.
    null

With the upcoming 3.0.8 release of Portal (shipped as part of 9iAS 1.0.2.1), we will be providing the new feature of "page templates" that will allow you to further customize not only the HTML body, but also the HTML header code of a portal page. It will work very much in the same way as page templates currently do within Portal Application components (charts, forms, reports, etc..)
The code (metadata, page tags, etc) for a portal page reside in the portal repository within the database. We provide many declarative facilities (portlets, page styles, page layouts, 3.0.8 page templates, etc..) and the PDK that will allow you to customize and tune your portal pages as you please.

  • Theme in WebDynpro java callable object

    Hi Experts,
I have created a portal theme and deployed on the server.
Now i want to use this portal theme in my WebDynpro java callable object.
I know how to use themes in WebDynpro application, set the theme in Exit plug of component interface view.
However in WebDynpro java callable object how do i achieve this?
here should i use WebDynproCOInterfaceView to set the desired theme to the callable object ?
or should i set the theme in my Componet's interface view?
i tried in both but its not working, i can still see the default theme.
    Am i missing anything here?

    Hi Guys,
    Any idea on this one?
Has anyone done this? are there any SAP Note for this?

  • Question about Page Builder behavior - how to get a "please wait message" ?

    Hi all together,
I got a question about Portal Framework / Page Buider handling iView Integration.
We are working with a lot of App Integrator iViews and often the pages includes with app integrator are loading longer than the rest of the portal. So there is the idea to put in a "please wait while loading message" for the enduser.
I analysed the html code, the page builder is generating and foud out 3 diffrent approaches how the page buider is rendering the IFRAME with the integrated application configured with an app integrator iView.
My question is how can I influence this behavior to put a "please wait while loading message"?
Different types of iView integration in the client I have seen:
    a) direct loading of the content in the IFRAME (<iframe id="" ... scr="/mysource">)
    b) Filling the iframe with 'about:blank' and loading the content later by filling a form with JS
         ( <iframe id="" .... scr="about:blank">and after the iframe  <form id="" action="mysource" ...>
    c) Filling the iframe with a html file from the portal layout and loading the content later by filling a form with JS (similar to b)
         ( <iframe id=""" ....scr="/irj/portalapps/com.sap.test.mylayout/html/blank.html>
I checked that variant b) is getting generated when loading a page with different components on the side (not only the app integrator iview) and variant c) is generated when just one app integrator iView is positioned (no portal page).
Goal: To get the "please wait picture" I want to know how to get variant c) in cases of different elements on one page
So I would be able to put this picture on the HTML-Page in the Portal layout (blank.html)
Hope, someone with a deep portal / page builder know-how can help me out!
Another way: Does anybody knows another way how to put a "please wait message" while app integrator application is not loaded yet?
Thanks in Advance and kind regards,
    Jens

    Hi Jens,
there are several reasons why you don't get the loading animation:
Web Dynpro ABAP: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1432358 -> missing configuration
Wrong height size for iView: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1358494 -> alter configuration of the iFrame height (loading animation gets displayed, but is hidden)
FPN, BSP, BEx: https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1290995 -> AI isn't showing the animation because of performance considerations. I guess that is your case. Depending on your portal version this is a simple service configuration or involves some customization.
    br,
    Tobias

Last time I checked contexts and lookups could return null values. And your code is not checking for a null value return.

  • Unable to create callable object of type Webdynpro (GP Interface)

I am getting the following error message when i try to create a callable object of type webdynpro in GP. It was working fine, but when i added component reuse it start giving me the following error:
"Cannot read callable object description from component: <null>"
I also have the library "caf/eu/gp/api" in my project, so i know that is not the problem.
So basically, my project was working fine until i added component resue that it is not letting me create a callable object in GP.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

That problem is now solved, i dont know how but i took out and putted back my component reuse and it worked. But now components that are deployed to the server and are functioning properly, stop working after the server is rebooted. Simply redeploying the component does not make it work again.
A note: One way that we've been able to "work around" this has been to modify the components in some way, rebuild, redeploy. Exactly what modifications that make it function again, is unknown.
Any help on tha issue will be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Web Dynpro application callable object error: Page Builder Not available

    Hi, SDN Fellow.
I created a callable object of Web Dynpro application. The callable object is atatched to an Action, and Action --> Block, and Block --> Process.
I initiate the process in GP Runtime, when it comes to the Action screen the Web Dynpro application atatched to, I got the following error:
The page builder required to display this application UI inside the portal environment is not available.
As aa comparison, another callable object that atatched to a Web Dynpro component (that implement GP interface) is working fine.
    Please advise.
    Thanks in advance,
    KC

    Hi KC,
When you start your process from GP Runtime, does the actual action/callable object open in a new window?
Have a look at this SAP Note:
[Error when executing a GP task - Page builder|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_bc_gp/~form/handler%7b5f4150503d3030323030363832353030303030303031393732265f4556454e543d444953504c4159265f4e4e554d3d393831353137%7d]
Although the error message you are getting is different, but if your callable object opens in a new window, then the problem (in most probability) is the same as mentioned in the SAP Note.
Also, try testing the Web Dynpro callable object in standalone mode. For more information on this, see:
    [Testing Callable Objects|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/4c/588041a17e060de10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm]
