Portege M930 - finger input to touchscreen no longer works

Got one of these
https://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/computers/tablet/m930/pdw04a-00c001/specifications
No longer able to use finger input on touchscreen.
Pen works on touchscreen OK.
It is as if I have accidently disbled it somehow.
Can't find any reference to a key or switch to enable/disable finger input on touchscreen in pdf manual or google.
Does anyone know how to re enable the finger input for the touch screen on a toshiba portege tablet M930?

Hi
The fingertouch might be disabled.
Go to control panel ? Pen & touch
in the Pen and Touch Settings window, click the Touch tab
Check or uncheck the checkbox next to Use your finger as an input device
Click Apply and then OK

  • Thinkpad X1 Carbon touchscreen no longer working - it worked for a year

I have looked through all the posts on this and it seems there are 2 threads, one where the touchscreen never worked, and this was often the fact that the ordered model didn't have the touchscreen, and second (my issue) when the touchscreen stops working where it was working before.
    My model is 20A7-CTO-1WW - 2014 version - Windows 8.1 Pro.
Before anyone asks, yes, it does have the touchscreen, it has worked faultlessly for nearly a year.
Sometime in the last couple of weeks, the touchscreen stopped working completely.
I reqularly apply maintenance (Lenovo and Microsoft, my BIOS is at the latest level).
When I stated to diagnose the problem, I saw a couple of anomolies.
    1) In the "PC Settings", I says "no pen or touch input is available for this display"
I ran the Lenovo Center test, and in the Log File (full log available)...... Index 18 clearly shows the Touchscreen
And finally, if I go to the HID section of Device Manager (+view hidden), there is no reference to the Touchscreen
No reference to the Touchscreen in the BIOS settings,
Please can someone give me some advice, it seems that maybe the Touchscreen H/W has been turned off somehow.
    Thanks, in Advance, Paul

I grasp that you updated your system to Windows 10  and discovered the touch screen was not supported.  You tried to do a recovery from the recovery partition but it failed.
You have installed a fresh version of Windows 8.1 from a USB  and was successful, however  your touch screen is still not working.   You have been unable to locate the HP drivers for your notebook.

  • After upgrading to IOS 6 the "Double-tap three finger" option to ZOOM no longer works

    Hello to evryone,
since installing IOS 6 the zoom feature no longer works.
yes i have it togled on  "on" and yes i already have tried with a full iPhone restore but to no avail.
given my bad eyesight and the fact that many apps and web pages don't alllow you the classic two finger pinch, this option is extremely useful to me....anyone out there with a suggestion?
    thanks so much
    nw
Managed to find a way to make it work. i put it in airplane mode than togled ZOOM on and... it now works even after airplane mode was deactivated

    Pjennings-
One thing you did not mention, is that the photo must have an eight character name plus the .jpg suffix.  Try shooting a photo in your camera, and seeing if the iPad will recognize it.
If it still does not work, this would be worth reporting to Apple at <iPad Feedback>.

  • Touchscreen no longer works

The touchscreen quit working suddenly last week. Haven't pinpointed if it was because of updating 6 apps or the phone. Or if it just couldn't handle the heat/humidity last week. I am thankful for the suspend option that Verizon offers until I can afford to purchase a replacement phone seeings this one was already a replacement phone as of Feb. and you can only do 1 per year.  Has anyone had their touchscreen quit before?

        Hi ttwtmlp,
I'm saddened to see that you are having trouble with your device and I am here to help! Please clarify, is your touchscreen completely blank or simply unresponsive to touch? You mentioned completing and insurance claim, has you device been exposed to any physical or water damage?  Your device has a 1 year warranty, if you purchased Total Equipment Coverage, your device has a 2 year warranty. As long as there is no physical or water damage present. Have you checked to see if you are eligible to upgrade by visiting:http://bit.ly/xB4iTc ? I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Oh!  I didn't know that.  Then definitely call HP Support and see if you can request a replacement.  They may want to do some troubleshooting first, of course.

  • Thinkpad Yoga: Digitizer only? Deactivate finger input

    Hi everybody,
quick question: my Thinkpad x201 Tablet provided the option to deactivate finger input, i.e. use only the digitizer, which I quite like when making presentations, as this way no accidential input occurs when resting your hand on the screen while writing.
I now bought a Thinkpad Yoga 2. Couldn't figure out yet how to deactivate finger input there. Any ideas? Any workarounds?
    Thanks a lot.

Okay guys, I just figured it out: finger input is automatically disabled as long as the digitizer is near the screeen. Quite fancy...

  • My finger print scanner for logging on to web pages no longer works in firefox 4

My laptop has a finger print scanner that manages passwords. You scan your finger to log on to various pages or accounts instead of typing in the log in information. It worked flawlessly in the older version of Firefox, but since upgrading to Firefox 4 it no longer works. I checked and it still works with Windows.

Is the a Digital Persona fingerprint scanner, also used in teh HP SimplePass Identity Manager? If do the company that make the bioscanner have abandoned it. For more details see https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/799388

PS Are you working on a version for the iPad and iPhone with Add Blocker? That would be great!

Here are some zoom add-ons which might provide a workaround:

  • Two finger scroll no longer working in windows 7 HP Pavillian 15t- n200

Hello!  My two finger scroll on the touchpad is no longer working!  I have run the BIOS again and disconnected battery with power off for 60 sec but still not working. Please help!  Thank you so much

    Hi eg1978
Welcome to the HP Forums! I see that you are having issues with your two finger scrolling. I have a couple of things for you to try. This HP document Using and Configuring the TouchPad has a section on Turning individual gestures off and on and make sure that the two finger scrolling is enabled. If that does work then reinstall your Synaptics TouchPad Driver.

  • The touchscreen on my D7460 no longer works... it does not recognize touch anymore.

I recently moved my D7460 downstairs.  I was trying to set it up with my new router, but the touchscreen no longer senses touch.  I plugged it into my PC USB port and the printer works.  The display continues to show status.
Without be able to use the touchscreen, I can't set it up for my new router.  Any suggestions?

Hi - Not sure there is a lot you can do, unfortunately.  With that said, I'd definnitely do a reset of the printer:
Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
With the product turned on, disconnect the power cord from back of the product.
Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 90 seconds.
Connect the power cord into wall outlet.
Connect the power cord to the back of the product.
If the product does not turn on by itself, press the Power button ( ) to turn it on.
    Try the touchpad.
One other thing to try, disconnect if from the computer/router, power it off and see if you have the same problem.  If you're still seeing the same issue after following the steps listed above, it would likely need to be serviced if you want the touchscreen fixed.
    Hope that helps.

  • 3 and 4 finger swipes no longer working along with pinch and rotate gesture

Hi, thanks in advance for your help.
I have the new aluminum unibody macbook pro. It has had absolutely no problems until now the 3 and 4 finger swipe gestures no longer work on the trackpad, as well as pinching to resize photos in Preview or the two finger rotate gesture.
I have tried unchecking all of the trackpad gestures that were not working then restarting and rechecking them, as well as unchecking all of them, restarting, and rechecking all.
The only gestures working right now are the two finger scroll and two finger double click tap.
These problems are in all of my applications, including Safari, Preview, and Finder as well as Firefox and Chrome. They just don't work anymore, system-wide.
Any guidance on what to do would be most appreciated. I really miss using the gestures to go backward and forward on webpages.

    Hi demondragon6,
have a look at http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-10423187-263.html for a useful "trackpad issue how-to".
Several people with this problem appear to have resolved your particular issue by removing the .GlobalPreferences.USER-UUID.plist file - see the link for instructions.
It is certainly worth trying a PRAM and SMC reset, as Roger suggests, first though.
    Cheers

  • Compile error "input line is too long" when using useLegacyAOT

I'm using FlashBuilder 4.7 and the release of AIR 4 on Windows 7 to package for iOS...As soon as I include 3 or more ANEs I can no longer compile to iOS (and also use the new "useLegacyAOT no" command).  When I try I get an error "The input line is too long.   Compilation failed while executing : compile-abc"
I found a couple other similar issues.  One post suggested instead of pointing to individual ANEs (in Package Contents) to point to a folder instead--but this doesn't fix the
Another post for a slightly different problem said it was fixed in the release of AIR 4.
Any ideas?  I wonder if I move my AIR SDK to a simple path (like "c:\air\adt.jar" instead of "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 (64 Bit)\eclipse\plugins\com.adobe.flash.compiler_4.7.0.349722\AIRSDK\lib\adt.jar") if it'd help.
    Thanks in advance!

Awesome!  I got used to the new useLegacyAOT thing very fast.  In the meantime, I have to decide whether to remove all my ANEs and test or sit through an interminable build sequence.
What's the current plan for a new release?  Is there any way I could get a beta copy just to use during development?
    Thanks!

  • HDMI port of Portege R830 no longer working

    Hello,
I have a laptop Portege R830 model number PT320C-01J018 and the HDMI is no longer working.
I have checked the cable and the TV is new.
    What can I do?

I don't have information on that model because it's Canadian, and this is the site for Toshiba USA. You should contact Toshiba in your region.
