Positioning a Video Class - wrongly offset

I have compiled a SWF with Flex 3 from Actionscript3 that
calls a Video class ("video") and plays a FLV movie. My routine
sets video.x and video.y values to 0 and 0 (top left). Everything
looks fine when I play it in the Flash Player... however.;
When I embed this SWF into a webpage, the video appears about
60pixels from the left edge of the movie / embed area. Any idea why
this may be happening?
My embed tag looks like;
<object
classid="clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000"
type="application/x-oleobject" codebase="
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/flash/swflash.cab#version=7"
width="640" height="360"><param name="src"
value="Player.swf">
<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="
http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer"
src="Player.swf" width="640" height="360">
</object>
Also; when I poll stage.stageHeight and stage.stageWidth from
my actionscript with trace() they output the correct values (640
and 360).
My Actionscript follows;

Is there any chance this is just the padding on the page?

  • Video class, IE and 'refresh'

    hi,
    i've made my own video player class, which uses the flash's natural video class (flash.media.Video) and the netStream and netConnection class.
    all works fine when i test it from a server (not locally) using IE 8, untill i refresh the page i get the following error:
    RangeError: Error #2006: The supplied index is out of bounds.
        at flash.media::Video()
        at com.ui::MediandVideoPlayer()
        at Nana10Player/onAddedToStage()
    and after that a blank screen.
    the MediandVideoPlayer class's constructor looks like this:
    public function MediandVideoPlayer(w:int=320, h:int=240, pausedAtStart:Boolean = false, enlargeVideo:Boolean = true, backgroundColor:int = -1, loadAndPlay:Boolean = true, debugStatus:Boolean = false)
                if (backgroundColor > -1)
                    addChild(ShapeDraw.drawSimpleRect(w,h,backgroundColor));
                video = new Video(w,h);
                addChild(video);
                _pauseAtStart = pausedAtStart
                _enlargeVideo = enlargeVideo;
                seekTimer = new Timer(10);
                seekTimer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, onSeekTimer);
                volumeLevel = 1;
                origHeight = h;
                origWidth = w;
                _loadAndPlay = loadAndPlay;
                _debugStatus = debugStatus;
    any ideas?
    thanks in advance,
    eRez

    thanks for your reply, but it doesn't seem to help me.
    correct me if i'm wrong - but when i refresh the IE, the swf reloads, so the video class wasn't created yet, so how can i remove it?
    one thing i did find (though it didn't really help me yet) is that it has something to do with IE's cache - once i go to the IE's 'temporary Internet files and history settings' window (through the options window), and select to check for newer versions of stored pages 'every time i visit the website' (the first radio button option) - i don't get this bug anymore.  once i turn it back to 'automatically' - the bug is back.
    more ideas?

    Curious if what your describing is similar to issue 4 which starts around 9:15 in video...

    If so this started for me, or at least I noticed it for the first time in LPX 10.1.1. What version of logic are you running?
    I've recently found that this issue also affects note timing on instrument tracks that use the "External Instrument" plugin.

  • Using a non UBS video class camera in ichat

    Hi,
    I have a Panasonic HDC-SD5 camera which I am trying to set up for use in iChat, as a webcam
    It has a DV-out out, but when plugged in and turned on it isn't recognised as a USB Video Class device
    Does anyone know if there is a driver/program around to make this possible?
    My machine is a macbook pro, the camera is a Panasonic HDC-SD5 (records onto SD card in AVCHD format)
    Any help appreciated, let me know if I can provide more info

    The only thing to try then is iUSBcam http://www.ecamm.com/mac/iusbcam/ but dont hold your breath.

  • Photoshop CC 2014 3D positioning in video animation timeline

    I'm a mac user and experimenting with the 3D and video timeline features. All I am trying to do is make a small custom shaped logo spin in place although it starts to spin around an axis that is off camera. My instructor at school did the exact same process that I've been doing on her computer, and it worked flawlessly which leads me to believe there is a snap, pin, or setting that my computer has turned on/off. I have found the 'Edit Pins' option in the View tab but I have not been able to select it as it is grayed out. Is that where the answer to my problem is? If not then where? The object that i am trying to rotate in this situation will move from the origin point whenever i try to apply a transformation of any kind, such as rotating, scaling, and moving.
    There is a similar problem that i have found on this forum, Photoshop CC 2014: 3D Scene Position Missing - Video Animation Timeline is the title of it although it has not been answered. This question was posted about the same time of my problems started as well. After a good amount of hours I haven't found anything close to an answer.

    I don't do 3D animations, but Seb Zaremba said it worked in the former Photoshop CC. You can have both version installed on your computer. Go to the Creative Cloud app and Apps>Filter & version>previous versions. There you will find the installer for CC (2013). Give it a try.

    Did you uninstall 1.3 completely? Completely in the sense both jdk and jre.
    You may get this error if you use javac of one version and the rt.jar of another version.

  • USB Video Class Driver on Solaris 10 and Sun Ray

    Hello,
    Is it posible to use the USB Video Class Driver (usbvc) on Solaris 10 and Sun Ray?
    How can I do that?
    Thank you very much.

    It's not possible. The Video Class requires isochronous operation on USB and Sun Ray does not support isochronous mode.
    Even if Sun Ray did support isochronous mode, the libusb library (which is what third-party applications use to interact with USB devices attached to Sun Ray) does not support isochronous transfers. The hard part is the Sun Ray itself. When that gets resolved it probably won't be very hard to add isoc support into libusb.

  • Lion, UVC (universal video class) webcam issues

    Prior to LION upgrade and then a clean install, I find the MS HD5000 and the MS HD6000 UVC compliant webcams are very over exposed.  This was NOT a problem prior to the LION OS.  Anyone find a work around or is experiencing this issue with LION?  Using IGlasses helps, but he picutre is not what it was under Snow Leopard.  Obviously something in LION has changed how the UVC is handled. Any help on this one would be appreciated!

  • HTML/Javascript positioning air.Video object

    Hi all,
    Simple question which has been doing my head in all weekend!
    I have got a simple application that programmatically creates an Air Video object and attaches it to a camera as per
            this.video = new air.Video( 320, 240 );
            this.video.attachCamera( air.Camera.getCamera() );
    I then want to embed that Video object into a specific location on the page (in the DOM). If I use the stage and addChild it just plonks it over the top of anything that's there already. Doing getElementById('container').innerHTML = this.video or similar does not work.
    I very much think I am missing something fundamental here but no amount of googling seems to be able to find similar examples to what I am trying to do. All the examples I can find use statically defined HTML<object> tags with fixed urls.
    Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    Phil

    Check the Security.sandboxType value in the embedded SWF. It should be "localTrusted", in which case you should be able to access both local and remote resources.
    There is a bug in AIR in resolving relative file paths in this scenario, that you might be running into. What happens is that Flash Player asks its container to resolve a relative file path. Normally, the container is a browser and returns the resolved path using a common URL scheme that Flash Player understands. However, AIR regards the SWF as being in the application sandbox and returns the resolved path with the app: URL scheme. Flash Player (which is acting just like the plug-in even in an AIR app), doesn't understand the app: scheme, so it doesn't know how to find the file. A workaround is to use absolute paths, which would probably require your JavaScript code to pass the absolute base path to the video player.
    As to positioning the Video player, this would require creating a div (or other page element) of the same size as the video and tracking the position of this element on the page. Whenever the position changes, you move the video on the stage (by resetting the video x and y properties). I don't know how much lag in positioning you would run into when the user scrolls the page, especially if the video was playing...
    A third option, of course, is to rethink the UI so that you have separate display areas for the HTML and the video.

  • Usb video class video vs built-in isight with adobe flash player

    to get the built-in isight to work on the mac, one chooses usb video class video.
    is it the same for linux?
    or does linux call the driver 'built-in isight'?
    is it different for different browsers?

    (1) Built-in iSight is ALWAYS a UVC device and external iSight is ALWAYS an IIDC device.
    I do not see how any software, whether OS or browser, could change those facts.
    However, I do not use Linux. Because you are concerned about using Flash for Linux,
    it seems to me you need to find the correct version of Flash for the version of Linux you use:
      http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
    When you have the correct version of Flash, you can check Flash Help for specifics:
      http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/index.html
    (2) Unless you get the specific answer you need here or in your Linux system documentation,
    also check the documentation or support pages from the supplier of the Linux you use.
    (3) Alternatively, you can search or post your question in a discussions forum dedicated
    to your version of Linux.

  • USB Video Class not showing up

    Hey All,
    I am trying to use some online websites that make use of the built-in iSight (Facebook, Chatroulette, etc), and my camera is not working. I know that in the flash player window that pops up you are supposed to select USB Video Class rather than built-in iSight, however the option for USB Video Class has disappeared. I have searched for USB Video Class driver but I have not been able to find one. Can anyone out there help me?
    Thank you.

    Consider any of these ideas that are relevant to your system:
    (1) For those who have installed Google plugins, user OysterOyster reports that uninstalling them restores proper iSight function with Flash and Mac OS X 10.6.5.
    If Google is your problem, the GoogleVoiceAndVideoUninstaller.app should be in your hard drive's Library/Application Support/Google/ folder. (not your *Home > Library* folder)
    Several users confirm that using the Google uninstaller works to restore Flash video functions.
    Some other users, including those who do not use the Google plugins, have found other remedies.
    (2) User joew13 reports that installing the 64-bit Flash plug-in beta for Mac OS X (DMG, 8.7 MB) fixed Flash sites for him.
    This link allows download of the 64-bit plugin beta from an official Adobe page:
      http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/flashplayer10.html
    or, to download the beta directly, click this link--> http://tinyurl.com/2frejs4
    Several other users have confirmed success after the beta update.
    (3) User imagerle downgraded Flash to version 10,0,45,2 to restore Flash video.
    If this older version is not available on a backup or an old install disk, it can be downloaded from Adobe's Archived Flash Players page:
      http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/142/tn_14266.html
    (4) User sirjoe82 and others have reported that uninstalling Flip4Mac restored their Flash video website functions.

  • Do I have the USB Video Class (UVC) built-in driver on my Mac OS X 10.4?

    I read on the Macam website that the Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 is one of the webcams that will work with the USB Video Class (UVC) built-in driver found in Mac OS X 10.4.3 and later versions. I have a Mac OS X 10.4.11. I cant find the USB Video Class (UVC) built-in driver on my iMac, nor can I get the Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 to work on it.(the downloadable macam software doesn't work with the webcam either.)

  • Audio/Video classes??

    Hey all-
    I heard that there are audio/video training classes for certification (No physical tutor) and the cost for this one is pretty low compared to the normal training classes. Is this true?
    Wil it be good to go with such audio/video classes? Will that be helpful in writnig the exam? Please suggest.
    Thanks
    M A

    Hi Shakir,
    Ya, all these information is completely correct. SAP Education do provides these audio/video classes that is usually known as e-Learning sessions. These
    e-Learnings are in two formats. Some of these materials will be in plain PDFs, some will be voice enabled and some will be in SAP Tutor (.sim format) such as like a demo type. here there will be no tutor and yes these are comparatively very less costly as classroom sessions.
    Yes its beneficial to go for these sessions when you can not manage to go for classroom sessions. Sure this will help you in writing exams as well but keep in mind that these sessions will laways be less helpful as compared to classroom.
    To access these sessions you should register with SAP Education and you will get Service Marketplace user ID and password by that you can access these sessions.
    Rewarding to query will give you one point yourself. *
