Possible to hit enter on table cell & retrieve data without selecting line?

Hi All,
We're using ECC6.  I  I have a situation where the user wants to be able to hit a cell in a table which will then fire a report and pass the contents of that cell to the report.
So far I have been only able to get this working when the row is highlighted, I can easily pick up the values from the lead selection.  But the user does not want to have to highlight a row every time to run the report.  The user just wants to hit return a cell and for the report to be updated with the value in that cell.
So, I'm just wondering if it is possible to hit enter in any table cell and retrive the data without highlighting the row?
Many thanks in advance,
Liz.

Hi,
You want complete row data or perticular cell data??
Basic q's, without selecting a row how can we get data? without selecting means you get complete data on table,
In that case which data you have to pass to report?
Or if you dont want to select data means, create one more field of type button. so in thins button action get that row data
and call report from here itself.
Cheers,
Kris.

  • Focusing a desired field on hitting enter - af:table

    Hi,
    I'm trying to implement the following use-case.
    Resources(name, description, is_rate_based, rate, quantity, cost) table stores the details of two types of resources - rate based and non-rate based. This data needs to be shown in UI as a click-to-edit, multi-select table.
    Now, for any row,
    if the resource is rate based (is_rate_based='Y'):
    1. Fields Rate & Quantity should be editable and cost field should not be displayed
    if the resource is not rate based (is_rate_based='N'):
    Fields Rate and Quantity should be disabled and Cost should be editable
    Also,
    when the user enters a value (for a rate-based resource) in Quantity field and presses ENTER key,
    The next row's Quantity field should be focused if the next row has a rate-based resource, otherwise, Cost field should be focused
    Similarly,
    when the user enters a value (for a non-rate-based resource) in Cost field and presses ENTER key,
    Focus should be on next row's Quantity field if the resource in the next row is a rate-based resource, else, cost field should be focused.
    While implementing this behavior, I realized that, the framework handles the focus event on hitting enter if all the rows are stamped with identical fields. However, when rows do not have identical fields, focus goes to the first editable field of the next row on pressing ENTER key.
    I'm trying to override this behavior by using clientListeners for the Cost and Quantity fields - but couldn't figure out how to do this.
    Any pointers/solution for the above case?
    Thanks,
    Sridhar

    Hi,
    This happens because every time you hit ENTER, the PAI is triggered and then your PBO of the screen where you havent populated your table control with values from the internal table.
    Try this.
    -> Repopulate your data in the internal table in the PBO as well.
    PROCESS BEFORE OUTPUT.
      LOOP AT t_tbcl WITH CONTROL tbcl CURSOR tbcl-current_line.
        module display_data.  "Populate your table control with data from the internal table t_tbcl.
    ENDLOOP.
    -> To avoid further problems, clear your internal table in the PAI in a module before the LOOP...ENDLOOP
    PROCESS AFTER INPUT.
    module cleartable.
      LOOP AT t_tbcl.
        CHAIN.
          FIELD: t_tbcl-kostl,
                 t_tbcl-posnr,
                 t_tbcl-ebeln.
          MODULE modify_t_tbcl ON CHAIN-REQUEST.
        ENDCHAIN.
      ENDLOOP.
    MODULE modify_t_tbcl INPUT.
      t_tbcl-mark = 'X'.
      MODIFY t_tbcl INDEX tbcl-current_line TRANSPORTING mark.  "try including the TRANSPORTING addition as well

  • JavaFX2.2 TableView:How to make a table cell be edited without mouse click?

    Hi,
    I've encounter a problem with editable table cells. I'm using the TableView in my project just as the Tutorial on Oracle (http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2/ui_controls/table-view.htm).
    According to it, I use the setCellFactory method to reimplement the table cell as a text field with the help of the TextFieldTableCell class. However, I found the steps is a little complex to get to the point where the cell can be edited:
    1.Let the table cell be selected by using direction key.
    2.Press “Enter” to converts the cell to a text filed so that it is ready to be edited.
    3.Clicking in the text field allows the contents to be edited
    The problem is step 3, that you must use the mouse to click before you can input data in this table cell.
    So, is there a solution to avoid step 3? That is the text field allows the data inputting when you just press “Enter”(step 2).
    By the way, English is not my native language. Hope I have made myself clear.

    Hi,
    You need to pass the focus to the text field when the startEditing event occurs. In the class that extends TableCell you use for cellFactory:
    public void startEdit() {
    super.startEdit();
    createTextField();
    setText(null);
    setGraphic(textField);
    * put focus on the textfield so user can directly typed on it
    Runnable r = new Runnable() {
    @Override
    public void run() {
    getGraphic().requestFocus();
    Platform.runLater(r);
    }

    Hi,

  • Validate the data in the internal table with the date in selection screen

    Hi all,
    I want to validate the data in the internal table and get only the records with the input date in the selection screen.
    The date is in the select options and please let me know how to get the records only if it satisfies the input date in the selection screen.
    Regards,
    Shalem

    For Ex.
    SELECT-OPTIONS: S_DATE FOR VBAK-VDATU
    If you want to read one INTERNAL TABLE record
    READ TABLE it_tab(internal table name) WHERE vdatu(date field name in the internal table) = s_date
    If you want to move more then one
    LOOP AT it_tab WHERE vdatu = s_date.
    Take the field values in another table and append it. then end loop.
    you will get the records which only have the date in select option..
    If you want detail code give me internal table name and select option name i will write you the code.
    regards

  • Excel export are merging cells for data on multiple lines !

    Hello,
    I'm using Crystal Report XI R2, when we are doing an export to Excel with have an unexpected formatting.
    For example the value of the name is on 2 lines:
    => So, on Excel the result is on 2 lines but merged. We want to have this result only on one cells.
    Remark: if we delete the 2nd lines, because cells are merged we obtain the expected result.
    Proposal A:
    Are they any set-up available concerning the formatting of Excel ?
    Proposal B:
    Could we run some VBA when we click on Export button to make queries on the Excel ?

    When they introduced Unicode support in Crystal 9 (I believe), they had to completely re-write the export routines. At that time, they made a decision to change the functionality of the excel export. Crystal is attempting to remain absolutely faithful to the graphical layout of the report as you see it in the viewer. So it creates merged cell sections, empty columns between columns, and empty rows to give you as close to exactly what you see in the viewer as possible. Unfortunately, the result is typically less than useful. Iu2019ve had several conversations with Business Objects (now SAP) with regards to this when they changed it between versions 8.5 and 10, and they have no intention of changing the functionality as it now exists.
    There is a document which is now likely somewhere on the SAP portal that explains what you need to do to obtain the best results when exporting to excel.
    The jist of it is this:
    Line up all of the columns detail data with thier headers, and make sure that data fields are the same size as thier headers.
    Line up all rows (headers and detail rows). (ie: select everything in the row, right click, align tops, and make the same height)
    cram everything as close together as possible. zero space in the report translates to zero extra collumns and rows in the export.
    the other option is to use the export to data only functionality, but that may not be what you're looking for either.

  • Export all data of selected line in search help to fields in table control

    I've created a search help which will export 4 fields. These 4 fields should be populated to the corresponding fields in TABLE CONTROL. However, in my program, only the first column is populated and the others are blank. How to solve this problem? Do I need to include POV? Thank you.

    Hi,
    1. Create a search help with four exporting parameters.
        ( check the you have created properly the sterp step
         procedure in creating the search help).
    2. No need to go for POV.
    3. After creating the table control assign the fieldnames into
       the control, then click on the fieldname it will show the
       attributes of that field . ther you can find te search help field
       fill that field with your search help name .
    4.After assigning the field, check it in executing the report.
          Hope this will work for you, if it is not let me know.
          Reward points if it is  helpful .

  • Same table in 3 pages without some lines

    hi everybody!
    i have a form with a master page (containing the invoice fields) and 3 body pages that reference the master page.
    in each one of these 3 pages there is a table with one header row, 7 body rows and a footer row.
    the table was copied and pasted from page 1 to page 2 and page 3.
    between the body rows there are two that are bound with table data, one for invoice details and one for tax details.
    my problem is that in the 2nd and 3rd page in pdf output invoice and tax details are empty, while the other lines are present.
    my question is: how can i get the same complete table in three form pages?
    thanks in advance
    ps: here is my form http://www.scribd.com/doc/25198885/esempio-fattura-dati-inventati

    Not sure I follow .....are you asking for Page 2 and 3 to have the same table and values in the table as on Page1 or does each page have unique data?
    Where is the data coming from? Is the user typing it in or is there a separate data source somewhere?

  • Custom table cell

    hi
    in my project i created some custom-table-cell (classes) manually without interface builder.
    now my question is; is it possible to create custom-table-cells with interface builder for dynamicly create instances?
    i would like to have a nib file where a customtablecell is placed and defined which i can later create instances from.
    i have no idea how i can do this.
    thanks.

    Make a XIB where the File's owner is a UIViewController and the only other thing in it is your custom table cell and it is hooked up to the file's owner as the view. Then you can do:
    UIViewController* c = [[UIViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"CustomCell" bundle:nil];
    cell = (CustomCell *)c.view;

    Is it possible to create OVS in table cells for NW 7.0 (NOT EHP1)?

    Oh, an answer was easy and obvious: OVS in table cell is possible. It can be done like OVS in inputfield.

    Hi Tim,
    I am using an RTF template, but was not able to get
    what I need with the standard functionality available
    in the RTF template. To work around this, I have
    imported a stylesheet to create the FO for the table
    directly. I try to append to this mail:
    - code in the RTF template
    - XML sample data
    - stylesheet imported from RTF template
    - the generated FO (small table, 4 colums, 7 rows, plus headers)
    I could also provide a stylesheet to create a complete,
    self containing FO and a correct PDF output, but may
    direct mail would be better for this.

    note: without using Remort desk top connection.

    Hi

  • Coloring of selected table cells: Ideas wanted

    Hi there,
    for a WD ABAP component to be re-used in various scenarios my customer seek the most comfortable and fency way to color table cells which have been selected first.
    I am almost sure that there is no UI Control in ABAP WD which allows the selction of cells in a grid, pane, table whatever, right?
    Most suitable would be if the cell itself can be selected and then some image within is beeing displayed or even a background color is set.
    I looked into placing a button and image in UI Pane or table/ALV cells but not 100% statisfied with it.
    Is there a better way in order to "simulate" the described requirement?
    As always, the best idea will get the point
    Regards
    Carsten

    Thanks for the tips. Both helped very much.
    I implemented the simple  Table UI because which was sufficient for us but the ALV example is very useful also.
    But related to this I have another question:
    My first the coding didn't work because my Table UI already had a (static) value assigned to it's design property.
    In this case, although I have assigned a dynamic WD_UI_CELL_DESIGN context attribute to the cellDesign property of it didn't show the color.
    Only after the Table design property was set to 'standard' the cell displayed the color.
    Does anyone know what the reason for this is?
    In my opinion any design value applied to the cellDesign property should overrie the inherited table design property. My release already is NW 7.01 so it not seems to be fixed via EhP.
    Regards
