Possible to use BI Server ODBC on other machines?

The BI Server has an ODBC connection to the repository file - is this possible to install on other Windows machines so as to access the tables in the RPD?
I've tried the server install file but it doesn't give me an option to install only the driver.

I've tried the server install file but it doesn't give me an option to install only the driver. This is not correct. The BI Server has no ODBC connection to the RPD. Have a look at diagram on page 16 of the deployment guide:
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10415_01/doc/bi.1013/b40058.pdf
The RPD is a file. The BI Server open this file and reads it. Nothing else happens. What exactly do you want to do?

For a server to be accessible on the inetrnet it needs to have an externally visible IP address. For example, an address which starts with 192.168.1 is for internal use only can only be used by other machines on the same internal network. The server's firewall needs to allow the port you are using access and the client has to be able to lookup up the IP address either using the hosts file or via a DNS service. None of these things have anything to do with Java programming, so if you have any more questions I sugegst you try googling them or ask a forum which relates to these issues.
The connection time out is due to the fact that there is no way to contact an inetrnal address over the inetrnet. The host unknwown means you haven't configured your PC to lookup that address. i.e. the host is unknown.

  • Possible to use time server with iPod touch?

Is is possible to have the time set on an iPod touch via a time server? Alternatively, to synch the time on the iPod with the time on a computer you use to synch the iPod?

But then I can have all dvds and music on a time capsule and then run it via itunes on my mac and from there to the apple tv
Yes, if you move the iTunes Media Folder to the Time Capsule.
But.....if you move the iTune Media Folder to the Time Capsule.....how are you planning to back up this important data?
(You will lose everything in the Media Folder when.....not if....the Time Capsule has a problem and you do not have a backup copy.)
A much safer plan would be to keep the iTunes Media Folder on your Mac.....or add another hard drive connected to the Mac and move the Media Folder to that drive.
Then Time Machine will backup both your Mac and and hard drive.  So, you have "originals" on one drive and backups on another.

  • Is it possible to use commerce server with netscape webserver and weblogic app server

    Hello,
We want to use Netscape webserver using NSAPI plug-in with WLS 5.1.
In this scenario can we get full functionality of Weblogic Commerce server
2.0.1 if we wnat to use above setup.
    This is urgent please.

    Surya,
The NSAPI plug-in with WLS 5.1 should not adversely affect the way the
Commerce Server works. Although this platform is not 'certified', the product
is J2EE compliant and should work without error.
    Hope this helps!

  • Is possible to use Creative Cloud apps in 3 machines?

I know you can use Adobe Creative Cloud in 2 devices. But if I have this 3 machines:
My iMac - Photoshop and DreamWeaver
    My MBA 1 - DreamWeaver
    My wife's MBA 2 - Photoshop
Can I use a single Creative Cloud license to work in that way or should I purchase 2 licenses?
    Thanks,

Additionally, you cannot use different programs of the suite at the same time by the same user on different computers.
I've always understood that to be true for Creative Suites.
But for Cloud apps I understand that the same user can install and use any Cloud apps on two computers (Mac and/or Windows) at the same time.

  • I'd like to use my captivate license on other machine (laptop) could'I do ? How ?

I've both a "month-license" for mi iMac, I need to work with my laptop too. How can I do that ?

If you cannot run the Ethernet cable from the Time Capsule to the Blu-Ray player, the next best option would be to use a pair of Ethernet power line adapters.
One adapter plugs into an AC wall socket near the Time Capsule and a short Ethernet cable connects from one of the LAN <-> ports on the Time Capsule to the adapter.
The other adapter plugs into an AC wall socket near the Blu-Ray player and a short Ethernet cable connects from the adapter to the Ethernet port on the Blu-Ray player.
The "psedo" Ethernet signal is transmitted over the AC power lines in your home. Works great as long as everything is on the same master electrical circuit.
Any computer / electronics superstore will have a selection of power line adapters to choose from. I've had good results using products from Cisco-Linksys or Netgear, but I'm sure there are other good choices as well.

  • How to use SQl server 2005's SQLXMLBulkLoad with JAVA

    Hi All,
I am in a big problem identifying how to use xml bulk insert functionality of sql server 2005 with java.
I need to enter millions of data into the sql server 2005 database.
All the material i saw on net includes vb script or asp.net sripts to do so.
Somebody please tell how I can do this with JAVA.
    Thanks.

In this forum we commonly discuss connections from Oracle to foreign databases. When you want to connect with your SQL Server to Oracle it would be better to ask that in a Microsoft forum as they support their LINKED SERVER mechanism.
The linked server set up is for example described in the Microsoft knowledge base as:
280106 - HOW TO: Set Up and Troubleshoot a Linked Server to Oracle in SQL Server
In newer SQl Server releases the name changed see for example:
How to run a SQL Server 2005 Integration Services package as a SQL Server Agent job step
View products that this article applies to.
    Article ID : 912911
As you can see they are commonly using OLEDB driver. So you might have to install Oracle's OLEDB driver as well. Else you might think about using OLEDB to ODBC bridge

  • Is it possible to use 2 firewire drives as TM backup with raid?

It seems that RAID is used for a lot of things, but I haven't been able to figure out if this is a proper use.
I have two hard drives. (1 TB/320 GB) I'd like to format the two drives into one using RAID in Disk Utility and use fore Time Machine backups. Is this possible or advisable? If this would work, is there a limit to the number of drives in a RAID setup?
    Thanks.

It's certainly possible to use a proper RAID with Time Machine, but you don't have the drives to create a proper RAID. A proper RAID system should be built using identical drives - same capacity, same brand and ideally, even the same firmware.

  • Possible to use MIGRATION to move Final Cut Pro to external HD w/OS ?

    MBP=Tiger and working FCP Studio.
Just wondering if it would be possible to use migration assistant or some other third party application (since it is the same computer) to my bootable Leopard external HD in order for me to see how well it works without re-installing all the programs again.
    Thanks.
PS. How many machines can you install it on and is there a sheet that shows the difference between FCP Studio and Express? Does express come with all the programs and demos?
Next purchase after the HD 120hz refresh TV (Lord willing) is a Mac Pro - just read that there is software out there to make a stock 2.8 run faster than the 3.2, not sure I would do.
    Thanks again.

Well it looks like it will work and it won't.
Apparently, you have to SELECT all applications which then by default, selects your library and I don't have enough room.
Was hoping that I could just choose ONE application, FCP and get used to it in Leopard. I don't suppose there is a 3rd party product that will allow me to do this. Why doesn't  allow us to manually select WHICH application(s) we want to move.
Surely there has to be another way instead of installing all of the DVD's again. This is a nightmare.
Appreciate any ideas. Otherwise its install all the DVD's, or CLONE OS to a NEW HD and start from there - glad I did as I have two clones of Leopard ,one 10.5.3, the other 10.5.2 and I tested 10.5.4 and yikes, it had major GU problems with redraw and lost some points overall in XBENCH.
Am sure they can fix that easy - should be mostly for windows users and imobileme (LOL).
Any help in transferring FCP to external appreciated via 3rd party program or individual application select.

  • How to start the admin server on another WLS machine?

    Hi,
I have a weblogic cluster with 2 weblogic machines: machineA and machineB.
The cluster contains 4 managed servers (2 on each WLS machine)
The admin server runs on machineA (standalone).
I have a file backup of the domain directory on machineA.
              Suppose machineA crashes.
How can I start the admin server on machineB?
              Kind regards,
              Pieter

    Thanks for your reply,
I know how to (re)start the admin server on machineA. But in this case I want to start the admin server on machineB.
              The documentation says:
Restarting an Administration Server on Another Machine
If a machine crash prevents you from restarting the Administration Server on the same machine, you can recover management of the running Managed Servers as follows:
Install the WebLogic Server software on the new administration machine (if this has not already been done).
Make your application files available to the new Administration Server by copying them from backups or by using a shared disk. Your application files should be available in the same relative location on the new file system as on the file system of the original Administration Server.
Make your configuration and security data available to the new administration machine by copying them from backups or by using a shared disk. For more information, refer to Directory and File Backups for Failure Recovery.
Restart the Administration Server on the new machine.
Simply starting the admin server on the other machine does not work because it tries to start the admin server on the ip address of the old machine.

Hi , I am trying to access ODDC server url from other machines. But not able to access it.What are the prequisites to access it from different machines in the same network?

is it possible to share an aperture library with different users using osx server.

Not really.  You should not be sharing an Aperture library over a network.  It's not designed for that and you'll likely corrupt your library at some point.

  • Is it possible to use Powershell to determine if Windows Server Source Files are present on disk?

    Hi everyone,
I would like to know if it is possible to use a Powershell cmdlet to determine if Windows Server 2012 (R2) Source Files are present on disk.
We are using an automated PS script to install roles and features and some registry keys and applications afterwards. If the Source Files are not present, the script will fail, so I would like a# Check if Source Files are present # stage built in
the script to determine if the source files are present or that an alternate source path needs to be used.
Is this possible with Powershell and if so, how can we achieve this?
    I'll appreciate your answer.
    - Rob

    Hi Rob,
I assume that you are using powershell command "install-windowsfeature" .
I would suggest you add the parameter "-source" to specify the alternate path of thesource file .
" The path specified in this parameter is only used if the command cannot find feature files in the local side-by-side store of the specified target computer or VHD. "
For details please refer to the article below :
