Posting to a prior Year

Hey Guys,
As we are getting ready to file our company's taxes for 2009, we realized that some of the values are off by a long way. The asset has a value in AS92 for 2010. We want to go and change year 2009's tax values without opening the G/L.
I changed my transfer date to 2009 which changed the last closed year in OAAR to 2009. I went to AS92 and changed the tax values for 2009 and then changed the transfer date back to current year. Now when I run an asset history sheet for 2009 my values are correct. Values for 2010 are not affected. Thiw

The message above wasn't complete.
The changes I did were in Sandbox. Can I proceed with these in QA/Prod? Do you see any issues?

  • Post prior year audit adjustments

    hi,
Can anyone give me some suggestions/examples that you have come across at your client on 'Posting prior year audit adjustments'. I will reward points accordingly.
    Thanks

    Hi Peter
    1. Open your FY 2009 from OAAQ
    2. Follow the steps given in the note 619969
    1) Re-open fiscal year in FI-GL (txn OB52)
    2) Recalculate values in fixed assets for the whole company code
    (RAAFAR00).
    3) Execute the depreciation posting run (e.g. in special
period 13 as an unplanned posting run, that all documents will be
    posted)
    4) Run program for periodic postings. After processing it in
test-mode, execute it as an update-run, even if message "no documents
    to post" occur.
    5) Process the fiscal year change (RAJAWE00).
    6) Process the year end closing (RAJABS00)

  • Clearing of down payments on assets from prior year

    Hello,
we have the following problem with an Asset under Construction (AuC) that has been migrated from a legacy system with down payments in a prior year.
Migration has taken place in 2007 (within the year). The down payment has not been cleared in 2007, but left on the asset for 2008. The clearing of the down payment on vendor side has already taken place in 2007.
When the AuC shall now be settled to a final asset via AIBU, the error message AW605 "Down payment to recipient YYYY area 01 amount XXXX not cleared" appears.
When the down payment on the Asset under Construction shall be cleared first with transaction ABSO (TType 181 "Clearing of down payments from current year"), the following error message appears: AA571 "Not possible to post down payment clearing. There are no down payments".
In our SAP Version 6.0 there is NO transaction type "Clearing of down payments from prior year", though.
Would appreciate any indication how to deal with the issue now - do we need to create a special transaction type for this purpose? If yes, how to configure the settings so that SAP knows to clear down payments from prior year?
Thanks very much in advance for any help!
    Gabi

I replied to your second post
But my question is then how does the down payment appears in the CJI3 report
Also, I am aware of your initial post. I feel, the details you gave is insufficient. You have just said there are two down payments made against a PO one is reflecting in WBSE another one is not. It will be difficult for others to suggest you a proper solution, You will have to give more detials as how you made the two down payments and you should tell us apart from appearing in WBSE what are all the other differences ..etc., You should give as much details as possible.

  • Settlemt-AUCof Prior Year Acqn to G/L Account in current yr Possible or not

    Hi Gurus,
My client is following calendar year and has already closed the fiscal year for Asset Accounting.Later on they found that there is some amount lying in one AUC in the prior year-2007 which has to be settled in current year to a G/L Account Expense in the current year-2008.
When I try settling the same via AIBU, the system is giving an error message as below:-
Settlement of Old Asset Data to Receiver Type G/L Not Allowed
    Message no. AW607
    Diagnosis
You tried to settle values from the previous year to a receiver other than an asset.  This procedure is not supported by the system.
    Procedure
Check your distribution rules and change the receiver.
Is there any way by which I can settle the AUC to G/L Account in the year 2008 since the accounts are already finalised.

  • Internal Order Settlement Reversal Prior Year KO88

    Hi,
I am on ECC 6.   We have been asked if it is possible to reverse prior year settlements for internal orders in the current year and period.                                                                The current year  reversals are not the issue. These orders settlements in need of revision were made in the prior year and the periods are all closed and not to be opened as the financials are complete for that year.
Presently, there are two steps :  1) Reverse the current year periods and resettle using revised settlement rules.in the current year open period.                                                                                2) Prior year corrections made through a manual journal entry also posted in the current period.
Goal is to eliminate the manaul entry for prior year correction due to revised order settlement rules
Any thoughts on this issue would be appreciated.

The only reason to resettle the orders is that the "settlement rules" were revised in the current fiscal year .  In the current fiscal year , the settlements for each settled period (closed period) are reversed and then resettled in the current  open period using the revised settlement rules. However, the issue involves these same orders had costs in the previous fiscal year and were settled originally in that previous fiscal year with the old settlement rules. This is a closed fiscal year and all periods are closed.
Any thoughts on a system approach to effect the settlement rule change crossing two fiscal years rather than manual entries for prior fiscal year settlement rule impact as a  two step process the first step being the current fiscal year resettlements and the second step the manual entry for previous year impact ?

  • How to calculate Prior Year To Date in SSRS

    Hi,
I've been developing reports in Crystal for a while. The new ERP software we have just purchased uses SSRS for all of their reports. I just started converting the crystal reports to SSRS. I can't seem to find an easy way to do a calculation for Prior Year
to Date or Prior Year Month to Date in SSRS. Can somebody help me?
    Thanks,
    Cindy

Your best bet would be to use a calendar table in the TSQL queries. I wrote an article on them here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/29260.tsql-calendar-functions-and-tables.aspx
Alternatively you can use a formula like:
    =DateValue(DATEADD(DateInterval.Day,1-DATEPART(DateInterval.DayOfYear,NOW()),Now()))

  • Does Lion work with Turbotax 2010 and prior years?

Does the current year version of TurboTax work with Lion.  Also are there any "cut-off" prior year compatibility issues.  Intuit has not posted a confirmation on their website.

Thanks baltwo.  I went to the Intuit discussion forum and found a tip which led to solving my specific problem discussed above.  I was able to resolve the problem by turning off the Resume function in TurboTax per the following link:
    http://osxdaily.com/2011/08/01/turn-off-resume-per-app-in-mac-os-x-lion/
Specifically, I typed the following into Terminal:
defaults write com.intuit.turbotax.2010 NSQuitAlwaysKeepsWindows -bool false
I had to recover my original file from a backup, but now all is well with making changes, saving the file and reopening the file.

  • Depreciation - Post in the Previous Year

    Hi,
I am trying to post the depreciation for Jan 2010, but the system is giving the error that I need to post in the preious year first.
However when i am trying to post the depreciation for the previous year, its giving the error that previous year is closed. Can anybody help me how to resolve this issue. Thanks.
    Regards,
    S.Sumana.

    Hello Sumana,
I have encountered similar issue in one of my clients. What you need to do to remedy the situation is that you need to open the Asset fiscal year in OAAQ and then post depreciation month wise till the current year start. For posting depreciation you also need to open the old accounting period but if there were no asset postings in previuos years then you do not have that risk of anything getting posted in books(which are already closed) in those prior fiscal years. This was from books point of view you maintain status quo.
Close the previous asset years and posting years once you are done with depreciation posting for a particular year.
After you come upto date you can run the depreciation normally in current year.

    Vijay

  • Prior Year Sales vs. Prior Period Sales

Using Crystal Reports XI, connecting to an Access Database.
I have a report that compares 2007 to 2008 sales for the most recent 4 weeks.  It summarizes sales first by Item Class (group 3), then by Item Type (group 2), then by Region (group 1).  Some Classes of items have sales in both 2008 and 2007, but some don't.  For those Item Classes that have no 2007 sales, I want to show the most recent 4 weeks in 2008 vs. the 4 weeks just prior to that.  In other words, if the report is showing week 10 to 13 in the 2008 column, I want to show weeks 9 to 12 in the 2007 provided that there are no 2007 sales for that item class.
I can do this easily enough for Item Class, however I am having trouble getting accurate sub-totals for Item Type and Region.
What I have now is this formula to show Net Sales for "2007".  {Command.class} is Item Class.  @PriYr4wkSale is the real 2007 gross sales.  @Prev4wkSale is the week 9 to 12 gross sales.  @PriYr4wkSpl is the spoils, which I add to gross sales to get net.
    if Sum ({@PriYr4wkSale}, {Command.class}) > 0 then
        Sum ({@PriYr4wkSale}, {Command.class}) + Sum ({@PriYr4wkSpl}, {Command.class})
    else
        Sum ({@Prev4wkSale}, {Command.class}) + Sum ({@Prev4wkSpl}, {Command.class})
If I change this to summarize over {@ItemType} I get erroneous data because {@PriYr4wkSale} is always positive, so the formula doesn't pick up sales for the Previous 4 wk period.
Does anyone have any ideas for a formula I can place in the details section (and then subtotal by group) that will show the sales amount conditionally, based on whether or not an item has prior year sales?  The problem I've run into with this approach is that any given detail record (say in 2008) doesn't know if there were prior year sales or not).
Edit: How can I make the post narrower, so it fits within one browser window, width-wise?

    Hi "M",
I know when I've tried something similar, the problem was that the formula didn't work because it wasn't getting a result of "0" (i.e. no sales) but "null".
    Try:
    if not isnull(Sum ({@PriYr4wkSale}, {Command.class})) then...

  • ABUMN - Prior-year acquistion

    Hi
When we are running the transaction ABUMN to transfer the values from one AUC "A"to AUC "B" there are 2 options in the tab "Partial Transfer" :
    1. Prior-year acquis.
    2. From curr.yr acquis.
If we select option "1.Prior-year acquis" then posting credits "A" and debits AUC "B" this is correct as there is a debit balance on AUC "A".
However if we select option "2. From curr.yr acquis"  then posting debits "A" and credits AUC "B" this is incorrect as there is a debit balance on AUC "A".
Can anyone explain why option "2. From curr.yr acquis." works this way? is this a bug?
    thanks

I have checked the balance each year and found the following:
2007 APC value = debit balance
2008 APC value = credit balance
Current year 2009 APC value = credit balance
Overall the NBV in each year :
    2007 NBV = debit balance
    2008 NBV = debit balance
Current year 2009 NBV = debit
Based on the above when I do the transfer I would expect to credit AUC "A" and debit new Asset. This works fine when you use the option "related to curr-yr aquis" however when you select "prior-year acquis" then the system is debited the AUC "A" and crediting the new asset, is this because the APC value in the previous year (2008) is a credit balance?

  • SSRS Matrix report. Variance expression by Month. Need to compare month from prior year to current month of current year VS2010

Please help.  I have a matrix report.  In the report I have row group  PO Type.  One the Column groups I have a parent group by Fiscal Year, and then a child group by Month.  When I run the report, I get two years of data back broken
out by month.  Please see below.
Now here is where I am getting stuck.  I need to take the variance between the current month of the current year, from the same month of the prior year.  So I need to show the difference between Oct , 2014 from Oct, 2013. November, 2014 from November
    2013... etc. etc.
In the example below, how do I create a column or row showing the variance for Contracts for October 2014.  I need to take the contracts for October 2014 which is 3 and subtract that from October 2013 which is 8.  Any suggestions? How do I do that
for each month?  Then I need to do it for the quarter... then the year?  But I'll be happy if I can just get the month working first.
    Any help will be appreciated.
here is what my rdl file looks like.
Here is what my report looks like when I render it.

    Hi Adrian_s2012,
According to your description, you want to compare values for the month of current year with the month of prior year and get the variance. Right?
In Reporting Services, we don't have any function to get this "Year to Year" Growth. In this scenario, if you data source is a cube, we suggest you use Analysis Services to achieve your requirement. If this data source is just from database, it will be hardly
to calculate the variance because we need to compare the values within every two different column group and matrix generate adjacent columns one by one. Even we make it by using custom, every time executing the long code when generating result
in a cell will reduce a lot of performance, we really don't suggest to do that in SSRS. Here is a thread with much easier requirement, please take a reference of that:

  • Change in start date of tax depreciation not for posting in mid of year

    Hi Experts,
Tax depreciation area is not for posting. The fiscal year is from Jan to Dec. I want to calculate tax depreciation from May 2011 based on Net Book Value of tax depreciation as on 30.04.2011. But once I change the start date of tax depreciation in asset master to 01.05.2011, the system ignores the previous depreciation so I am not getting the NBV of tax depreciation of 30.04.2011.
Is any setting is required to get this. I can not do changes in posting rules since this tax depreciation is not for posting any thing.
The fiscal year 2010 is closed and NBV of tax depreciation as on 31.12.2010 of one asset is 80000, If I change the start date of tax depreciation from 1.1.2011 then system correcly take NBV of 31.12.2010 for further depreciation calculation. But if i change the start date of depreciation in between of year the system is calculating depreciation based on NBV of 31.12.2010 but ignores the tax depreciation from 1.1.2011 to 30.04.2011, which I previously run using AFAB.
Need your assistance to know is it feasible to do this.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Harshad

    Hi Harshad
The behaviour of the system is very much correct, it is designed to behave that way...
One, you should not have changed the dep start date....
two, NBV in SAP is always taken to be NBV @ the start of the year....
The best wayout I can suggest here is, if you are on EhP4 and EA-FIN active
    a. Change the Dep Key in the asset... You can maintain Time Dependant Dep Terms in asset master i.e. Dep Key X from Jan-Apr and Dep Key Y from MAy onwards
    b. This will however, calculate dep based on NBV at the start of the year, but based on new useful life
    c. Considering your eg: The system is posting more depreciation i.e. 5333 instead of 5155.... So, calculate this amount outside the system and post a Manual Write up ABZU inorder to reduce the Dep and increase the NBV
Even if you are on not on EhP4, you can follow the same approach as above.... i.e.
    a. Change the Dep Key in asset master.... This will throw up new dep figure, on the basis of New Useful life and NBV at the start of the year
    b. Post a write up from ABZU....
No need to do Asset to asset transfer in my opinion
Only diff between EhP4 and Non EhP4 is that the differential depreciation would be lesser if you are on EhP4... i.e. instead of 5333 now, system may throw up depreciation amount of 5666.. So, you may need to post write up of 5666-5155

  • CURRENT YEAR SALES DATE PARAMATER AND PRIOR YEAR SAME DATE RANGE

I am pulling data from a SQL view dbo.view that has current and historical SOP data by line.  The date paramater is a date range,  uppr date and lower date formulas are in the report.  I need to include prior year SOP data for the same prior year date range in the detail.  I have tried adding the view in twice with no luck, just duplications.  Ultimately I want to supress the detail and only show the totals by customer so it is comparitive.  Thanks for your help.  Jayne

    OK
    lets simplify it
get a test data source with some simple dates in it.
    get the report logic working.
it looks like you have the right formula ideas but lets go for
    @upperthisyear
    @upperlastyear
    @lowerthisyear
    @lowerlastyear
    then assuming a date field of {table1.date}
    the record selection would be
    if (@upperthisyeare > {table1.date} and @lowerthisyear < {table1.date}) or (@upperlastyeare > {table1.date} and @lowerlastyear < {table1.date}) then 1 else 0
I would test this by using it as a formula field with the test data.

  • Need to apply MTD logic for actual and prior year

    Hi Team,
We are facing an issue with MTD calculation based on formula variables,
Issue: MTD Only (Actual and Prior Year) – show the same value for MTD.
    Requirement:
When the query is run for a selected month, the query should be run for that month based on the Last TECO Date (Input Variable).
    • For example, dashboard is run for January 2014, the calculation of MTD should be based on the Last TECO Date : i.,e if I enter older date/month (not current date)[ 1/20/2014 means it should calculate for 1/1/2014 – 1/31/2014]
    • If the dashboard is run for the current month, the MTD calculation should be on Last TECO Date = 1st day of month – Current Day
The above same calculation logic should be applicable for MTD prior year: instead of the input variable value, the value for previous year should be considered
    Final Calculation:
If Last Labour Date is blank, 0, else Last TECO Date – Last Labour Date (by individual line item)
Here we created two formula variables for last teco date and last labour date.
Also created 2 Customer Exit variable for MTD Actual calculation.
We have pulled the formula variable and CE variable into the selection and created a new CKF (Teco date).
We have done the final calculation on the basis of the ( (labour date ==0)*0 + last teco date-last labour date )for MTD ACTUAL.
    MTD Prior Year-
when have done calculation on the basis of the( (labour date ==0)*0 + last teco date-last labour date )for MTD Prior year by giving offset -12 to the value.
Here for MTD Actual and MTD Prior year values are coming same  ,we tried with by doing customer exit variables as well, Still values are coming same.
please give your valuable inputs/suggestions to proceed for this requirement .

I assume the Sales measure is a monthly measure. The Prior year calculation as I described will give you the sales for the same month in the previous year when selecting month in your report. When selecting year it will add up all months of the prior year until now and you will indeed see the Prior year YTD.
If you want to see the total sales for the previous year you have to use the same calculation as 'Prior year' and map it to the year level of your time dimension. This will work as a 'partition by year'.
