Postinstallation tasks errors
Hi,
this is what i did.
i created a new database 10.2.0 on linux server, then run companion cd on db home.
i executed the follwing script
"select comp_name, status from dba_server_registry" and i got all schemas as valid.
then i run the following scripts
utlrp.sql
catalog.sql (i thought this is needed for export/import utilities)
then i installed the TOAD on my client machine.
but somewhere down the line something got the database messed up and i got so many invalid objects in many schemas.
and when i tried to run the views
dba_server_registry and dba_registry, i was getting errors.
so i recreated the database and also installed the db companion components.
now what are the post installation tasks that i need to do.
do i need to run the scripts and what is the purpose to run the following postinstallation scripts.
utlrp.slq
catexp.sql
catalog.sql
do i need to run the postinstallation scripts before or after installing TOAD. when installing TOAD what are the precautionary steps i need to follow.
Can someone help me please.
Thanks,
Philip.
the oracle installation documentation says to run utlrp.sql as postinstallation task.
and the utilties document says to run catalog.sql or catexp.sql before using export/import utility as shown in the link below.
http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/exp_imp.htm#i1004716
i recreated the database and i figured out that the invalid object creation happened when i run catalog.sql script and not when running other scripts.
do i really need to run this catalog.sql script or what else should i do to avoid this invalid object creation error.
Thanks,
Philip.

Is there a way to generate a report of task errors? I have a "Load from Resource" task that generated errors but I don't want to go through each of the 7000+ pages to find the ~230 errors.
I have tried to create a new Task Report but it won't Save or Run.You might want to find the task and add a custom audit event on the task. If it's a default task you might be able to find it using audit log report.

File system task error ; Access to the path " " is denied
HI All,
I have created a simple package to copy xml files from multiple source folders to destination folder.
Folder names and paths are stored in a sql table. I use execute sql taks to get folder and path names. set the restult set to full result set in the execute sql task.
Then for each loop is used to loop through each file name. File system taks is inside the for each loop. Destination vairable and source varable were created and assigned them inthe file system task.
But I am getting an error message.
[File System Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Access to the path '\\cor\Groups\DN\Share2\Servicing \RESPONSE_FILES\Services' is denied.".
But I am able to do this if i design the package to move just one file. i.e without using variables. I get the error message only when I use variables.
Can anyone tell me how to fix this please?
Thanks
shamenHow to give the access please.

Login using a sysadmin account
Go to the folder right click security and you've the option to add new account. You should give account write access if you want to copy files to folder.

Failed to load Execute Package Task error.
Hello Experts,
Excuse my newbie question.
Execute Package Task: Error: The task has failed to load. The contact information for the task is "Microsoft Corporation; Microsoft SQL Server; Microsoft corporation; All Rights Reserved http://www.microsoft.com/sql/support/default.asp:1"
We have a windows service running on our app server that deploys a package that executes other packages using execute package task. This package and rest of the packages are in the same folder at the same level under integration services
catalog. The package fails to execute with the above said error.
Execute package task is configured to run in 'in-process' mode. Changing delay validation to true/false in child packages didn't help.
ironically if the package is deployed using a console application from the app server the package gets executed just fine. I checked permissions, everything seem fine.
Is there anyway to get details of this error to understand the problem better? I am looking at reports > standard reports > all executions.
Thanks. As it turns out, the 63bit ExecPackageTask.dll was not found under "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Binn". Installing "SQL Server Data Tools" installed only 32 bit version of the component under "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL
Server\110\DTS\Binn".
Is there a way to get 64bit version of this component without installing "Integration Services" (to avoid possible license issues)?
Hi Jayakarthiks,
To make use of the 64-bit ExecPackageTask.dll, you also need the 64-bit SSIS runtime and 64-bit DTExec utility tool. To obtain the 64-bit SSIS runtime and tools, you have to install the SQL Server Integration Services service from your SQL Server 2012 install
media.

Looks like a permission issue or maybe the assembly don't exists on the server where the package is running; you should check that first.

I have an package with source , data flow and destination to execute on begin and commit.
in the below i have just used for questioning purpose with diagram removing my Data Flow task explaining my problem
on execution, i get error as
[Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "COMMIT TRAN DimCompanyCode" failed with the following error: "The COMMIT TRANSACTION request has no corresponding BEGIN TRANSACTION.". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query, "ResultSet"
property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.
as mentioned , i have checked the ResultSet, parameters , connection establish.. all are fine.
Kindly advice on what has to be done.
ShanmugaRajTo avoid this error, the RetainSameConnection property should set to 'True' for the Connection Manager - Application_DB.

WHERE source_filename = ?
AND lTRIM(RTRIM([BILLING DATE])) <> '')
END
In parameter Mapping i have created two parameters and in result set i choose my variable.
Result set property is Single Row.
Following is the error message i received,

SELECT CASE(SELECT COUNT(*) FROM STG_APJ_APIW_DETAILS

SSIS - Using Variables in Execute SQL Task Error
The following query in my Execute SQL Task throws the following error when run - [Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "SELECT @columnz = COALESCE(@columnz + ',[' + times..." failed with the following error:
"Must declare the scalar variable "@columnz".". Possible failure reasons: Problems with the query,
"ResultSet" property not set correctly, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established correctly.

set average = (coalesce(twoweeksago, 0) + coalesce(previousweek, 0) + coalesce(currentweek, 0))/3
from tmpNCPCNC_MaxDownstreamNodeUtilzationChart3Week
ScottIssue is with variable @columnz.
Scope of variables is only limited to the batch and if batch is over Variable is no more accessible.
Reproduce Steps:
DECLARE @columnz int = 0
Go --Scope of @columnz ends here
SELECT @columnz -- Ends up with error
So you have to remove GO keyword. I have commented 2 of them in below:
DROP TABLE tmpNCPCNCDownstreamMaxUtilization3wks
SELECT node
,max(utilization) AS max_Utilization
,DATE
INTO tmpNCPCNCDownstreamMaxUtilization3wks

SET @query = 'select * into tmpNCPCNC_DownstreamNodeUtilizationMaxPivot from
(select node, timestamp, Max_Utilization from tmpNCPCNCDownstreamMaxUtilization3wks)a

EXECUTE (@query)

FilePath and SourceFolder
I`m using execute sql task inside the container and this is my query
Insert into [dbo].[DCA_FF_TEST] (File_Name,File_Date) SELECT File_name = ?,
File_Date = GetDate()
Please not the Table I am trying to insert has more columns but at this stage I dont need them.
When i execute the task I get an error
[Execute SQL Task] Error: Executing the query "

Can someone point me in the right direction? Am I missing anything?
Resultset property Set to None
Parameter Mapping: Variablename: FilePath , Direction: Input, datatype : Varchar, Parametername: 0, ParameterSize: 100.
I`ve checked the connection as well it works.
FMDid you try
Insert into [dbo].[DCA_FF_TEST] (File_Name,File_Date)
SELECT ?, GetDate()
Or
Insert into [dbo].[DCA_FF_TEST] (File_Name,File_Date) VALUES (?, GetDate())

Web service task: Error when returning an empty array
Hi,
I've encountered an annoying error when using a Web Service Task from an SSIS package in SQL Server Data Tools.
[Web Service Task] Error: An error occurred with the following error message: "Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebserviceTaskException: Could not execute the Web method. The error is: Index was outside the bounds of the array..
at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebMethodInvokerProxy.InvokeMethod(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection)
at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTaskUtil.Invoke(DTSWebMethodInfo methodInfo, String serviceName, Object connection, VariableDispenser taskVariableDispenser)
at Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Tasks.WebServiceTask.WebServiceTask.executeThread()".
It seems that the Web Service Task generates this error when returning an empty response from the WSDL. I've seen several topics about this here on MSDN but they are all from 2008-2009 and seem to suggest that
this is a bug. The workaround suggested is using a script task but I would really love to avoid that since my programming skills are lacking.
I'm using Visual studio 2010 with SP1.Hello,
From my own experience: in all the cases where I had to use SSIS 2008 to retrieve data or send data to Webservices, I had to revert to using Script Tasks or Script components. Whenever I tried with a Web service task, because the job looked simple, I had
to abandon it in favour of Scripts. Keep in mind that I try to make use of the SSIS components as often as possible, before reverting to Scripting. But handling web services is the one exception, where I always use scripts. In SSIS 2012 I did not find
any significant improvement of the Web service task and hence no compelling reason to use it.

SSIS execute process task error on unziping
Hi
I am using 7zip to unzip files in SSIS using execute process task. Here is the configuration of the task:
executable: C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe
arguments: e default-o\\servername\livechat\unzip\
However, on executing package in BIDS, following error is thrown
[Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe" "e \\servername\livechat\7566_20121009.zip-o\\servername\livechat\unzip\" at "", The process exit code was "2" while the expected was "0".
Can someone help where I made mistake?
Thanks,
hsbalI have mapped the share to F: and then tested. Unfortunately that doesnt work as well.
I am getting the following error:
[Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7z.exe" " F:\*.zip -o F:\unzip" at "", The process exit code was "7" while the expected was "0".
Thanks,

Seems like a syntax error. Go through this

Ssis execute process task error: process exit code was 1 while the expected was 0
Hi Sir,
in my SSIS Package(2012) i am using Execute Process Task which will call bat file. bat file is located on UNC Path.i am having the below script in the batch file.
del \\servername\foldername\name.txt
rcmd \\servername D:\name1.bat
del \\servername\foldername\name2.txt
xcopy \\servername\foldername\file.txt \\server\foldername\outfilefolder
i am getting the below error message:
ssis execute process task error: process exit code was 1 while the expected was 0
i want know at what cases error exit code was 1?
Thanks for your time.Hi prasad.alm,
The error is generic and can be caused by various factors. Here are some suggestions for your reference:
Manually run the executable to execute the batch file so that we can check whether the command lines in the batch file are correct or not.
Check there are no duplicate/existing files in the destination folder.
Try to run the package in 32-bit or 64-bit runtime mode.
If the issue occurs when running a job, try to create a CmdExec type job step to call the excutable. If this job also fails, it might be an issue between executable and SQL Server Agent rather than the SSIS package itself.
If the issue persists, enable logging for the package, and check if we can obtain more detailed error message for further analysis.

Hi Sir,
I have develop the SSIS Package in 2012 version and i am calling the SSIS Package using Stored Procedure according to my requirement and that stored procedure will be using in my SSRS report Datasource.
once after the SSIS Pacakge has design and develop and deploy into the server as Project Deployment model..when i run the ssis Package ,calling through the SP it is working fine...
even when i design a SSRS report using SSDT(sql server data tools), in the SSRS reprot calling the above SP in Dataset.when i execute the SSRS report it is wroking fine...
once SSRS report has been deployed into the remote Server.. when i Execute the SSRS report i am getting the below Error message:

belo is the SP for calling the SSIS package.

PrasadHi Prasad,
When you say executing the package in SSMS, I think you right click on the package and execute it manually rather than execute it through SQL Server Agent job, right? How did you execute the package from the SSMS on DEV server? Have your also deployed the
SSIS project to the SSISDB catalog on DEV server or you used SSMS tool on DEV to connect to the QA server to execute the package?
When you log into the Database Engine instance, make sure the credentials you used has access on the shared folder which hosts the .bat file. Besides, I think the issue may be caused by the Windows UAC feature which may lower the permissions level of an
administrator to a standard user. So, I suggest that you run the SSMS as administrator to see if it works.
