POWER ISSUE when Automatic update is enabled

Does anyone have an answer? Thanks in advance
When I turn the automatic update feature on in itunes (so it can synch up songs in itunes with ipod) as soon as updating takes place itunes gives a "OK to disconnect" message and ejects Ýpod from the USB port. This immediately stops powering of ipod from the USB port and I can not fully charge ipod. This does not happen when I use the manual mode as I have to disconnect ipod from the USB port by clicking on eject button.
Is this a USB port problem (which I do not think so) or a bug in the software?

Sevket,
b When The " Update Complete. OK to Disconnect " Show On iTunes:
Click On the Little " EJECT " Button Beside The iPod icon (in the iTunes Source List)... The iPod will Disappear From the Source list.. Then Unplug Your iPod.
i I suggest you To Charge Your iPod Throught Power Adaptor For WAll. That, if You have One.

Help. I was in the middle of loading a system update when I shut the power off.
You mean you forced the computer off with the power button?
When you say the middle of loading a system update, what do you mean? Downloading it, installing it??
Now my MacBook Pro does not boot and only has an error message when I power up. I have read some forum topics on downloading a stand alone installer to fix and another on using my leopard install disk\utilities to "restore from time machine".
You need to boot into the Leopard DVD by inserting the DVD, rebooting and holding down the "C" key. After the language screen, in the menu, top left, under Utilities, run disk utility and repair HD and permissions.
    That's the first step.
If that does not work, boot into the safe mode by holding down the shift key on boot. If you get to the login screen, you are probably in good shape - just click restart and let the system reboot normally.

    Are you using verity?
    Try this:
    Stop services (admin and regular)
    Delete the <install>\<instance>\search\update\changes.txt file
    Restart both services
This may allow Verity to start the indexing process over.

  • Satellite Pro C50-A-154 - battery issues after automatic update

    Hi everyone!
First of all, i have to apologize for my bad English if it is not as good as should be..., after this, i could start to tell all of you what happened to me in the last few weeks...
I have an a C50-A-154 Toshiba Satellite Pro, and I use it for some home stuff like watching some youtube videos, listen to music, and that kind of things than a normal user do.
A few weeks ago, a Toshiba Tempro Alert remind me that there were some software updates avaliables to download for my laptop, so I installed them, I normally unplug my battery when I have the AC cord plugged, so, i didn't realize after a week after that my battery was not recognized like it should be for my toshiba.
At first, the windows said that it was totally charged and no need to continue charging, so I unplugged the AC cord, and the laptop shutted down (with battery plugged and seems so be 100% charged).
When I plugged again the AC cord, windows said that the battery was empty, and said, PLugged but not charging...
At the same time, a new update from toshiba was released, this time was for the bios, so i though that it will probabbly fix the problem with the battery, so, I updated the BIOS and then windows said that the battery was full charged again... i couldn't believe....!!
But the system still goes down when yo unplugg the AC cord, and now de battery says again that it is empty..
Yesterday was a new update for Bios, so I give another chance, but nothing has changed.... i can't use the battery, and I have no warranty, so I do not know what to do...
I have read many posts about problems battery lately, in europe forums and US forums.... maybe it's a software problem??? Maybe the boys from toshiba have no idea about this problem??
    Thanks for your answers!

Thanks for this late reply ;)
Of course its always pity if something does not work properly.
If my solution did not work, I recommend you to replace the battery.
    > and i'm totally sure that my problems started when I updated the laptop....
hmm... i think the update has nothing to do with your issue... it could be a simple bad luck but from my point of few the battery might be damaged.
You should try to order new, comatible battery and should check how the unit would handle new, good working battery.

  • Mails stuck in queue when Automatic Replies are enabled

We have a new Exchange 2013 server and moved a few pilot users from the 2010 environment to it.
Everything seems to work OK but we just encountered a strange issue. One of the users turned on his automatic out of office replies and when people send E-mail to his mailbox they receive a 'Delivery delayed' e-mail. All mails to this account seem to be
stuck in the queue (shown in the Exchange Toolbox – Queue viewer) but they DO actually arrive in his Outlook.
    The error message in the queue for his messages is: Recipients:  [email protected];3;3;[{LRT=};{LED=432 4.2.0 STOREDRV.Deliver; Agent transient failure during message resubmission[Agent: Mailbox Rules Agent]};{FQDN=};
After turning off his out of office replies, the queue emptied instantly, and no duplicate mails arrived in his mailbox. After turning it back on the queue started filling up again with new mails.
Other pilot users have the same issue.
Has anybody seen this issue before? I checked space on the drives and there seems to be no issue there (so no back pressure issue).
    thanks!

We opened a case with Microsoft support. It took a few weeks for them to find what was causing this issue. I will just copy/paste the summary they gave us.
    Reason:
So the error was thrown by the Transport Service when we are trying to submit the mail.
We also compared the difference between earlier version and CU5 and found “XORIGFROM=[email protected]” is the difference, we started using XORIGFROM verb from CU5.
We did further analysis and found During SMTP Session, we check if the XOrigFrom argument is allowed according to EHLO, capabilities and permissions.
While checking this permission, we check if the session has permission to accept organization headers, and this is where we are failing.
    # we checked the effective permission for "Mailservername" on Default receive connector and found that we had "deny" permission on: Accept Organization headers
    # We also found that the security group "Exchangelegacyinterop" had deny permission for "accept organization headers" on the default receive connector
    # We found that the Exchange server "Mailservername" was a member of "Exchangelegacyinterop"
    # So we removed the "Exchangelegacyinterop" and added the "Mailservername"
    # we gave "Allow" permission on "Accept organization headers"
    # we restarted the MSExchange Transport service
    # We sent an test email to the OOF enable mailbox
    # we found that we got the OOF reply and also the email did not stuck in the queue
    # Issue resolved

  • Playback and Rendering issues when GPU acceleration is enabled

I'm using the new MacPro with dual AMD FirePro D300. When I enable GPU Acceleration (Open CL) I can no longer play through an entire sequence. It specifically has issues playing through any layered graphics or titles, but seems to play with those disabled. I have tried having "Composite In Linear Color" enabled and disabled, and neither seemed to make a difference. It's the same deal when rendering. If I have titles, and use GPU Acceleration it jumbles clips, cuts to black or static, all manner of weirdness. Is there something I'm missing?
An example of what playback looks like if I have titles and GPU Acceleration enabled.

This computer thing seems complicated enough that if your system works better with GPU accel off, that's you best performance. I understand they've been trying to sort out these sorts of issues but there's so many dang variables, and trying to build software that interlinks with other complicated software is something no other NLE or Grading program does. That throws even more kinks into the list.

  • WRT54G Strange connection issue when wireless security is enabled

The model # is WRT54G v2.2 with firmware 4.21.1. I knew that my internet connection was good because I connected my laptop directly to the wireless antenna. When the antenna is connected to my wireless router I can't connect, wired or wireless. I decided to reset the router and program back in the changes that I have made. I checked for internet connection after the reset, it's there. Made more changes, still good. Then when I enabled wireless security using WEP the wired and wireless internet connection goes away. Any ideas to fix this. Can I go back to the previous version of firmware?

hi... go to ftp.linksys.com/pub/network and try downloading older firmware for the router and downgrade the firmware, after that reset the router back to factory default settings and reconfigure it...

  • Battery/Power Issues When Battery is at 0%

    Hey, how's it going..
Few things I am a bit nervous about
I just got this Refurb MacBook Pro 15in. 2.66Ghz 32GB HDD and 512MB NVIDIA GFX
And my computer went into sleep mode and when I plugged it back in I had to do a manual reboot because the mouse wouldn't move.. So, I turned it back on let it die to see if it would happen again, and then the computer didn't even go to sleep mode..
What is going on? What should I do?
When it goes to sleep and it's charged this never happens..
Also, yesterday I calibrated the battery and left it uncharged for 11 hours.. Do I need to re-calibrate..
Some extra notes: basically the silver light on side shows up, and then about 10 seconds later the light shuts off, i plug it back in and have to hit the power button for it to get out of sleep mode, and then a silver screen comes up (just like when you start the computer and the apple logo comes up) and these lines come up on the bottom, letting the computer to resume..

If I'm understanding your slightly confusing post correctly, what you are seeing is normal. When the battery has 0% charge remaining and the MBP goes to sleep for lack of power, it first writes all the contents of RAM to the hard drive, then enters a deep sleep mode from which it must be waked using the power button instead of a simple keystroke. When waked from deep sleep, the machine takes some time (the amount of time depends on the amount of RAM that is installed in it) to read the contents that were in RAM when it went to sleep from the hard drive, and load them back into RAM. When it's finished doing that, you are back to exactly where you left off when the machine went to sleep. During the reloading time, the machine may not respond to any keyboard or trackpad actions, and a loading bar appears on a grey screen.
Deep sleep mode is a way of assuring that even if you have unsaved files open when your machine runs out of battery power and you can't connect to AC power for an extended time, no work will be lost.
Deep sleep mode is not invoked when the battery still holds some charge, and you put the machine to sleep manually or it goes to sleep by itself after your specified idle time has elapsed.
I don't fully understand your question about calibration. If you carried out the calibration process completely and correctly a day or two ago, nothing that I see in your post suggests that you need to repeat it now. If you didn't complete the calibration process as described in this article, then yes, you should repeat it from the beginning.
Post back if I've misinterpreted your questions or if you have others.

  • Suppress "Warning: Automatic update is not enabled..." when installing Windows role or feature with Powershell

I've written a powershell script to prep server for SCCM 2012 and the only annoyting thing I can't seem to get rid of is the yellow warning message that appears as a result of installing new Windows roles/features.  The specific message is: "Warning:
Automatic updating is not enabled.  To ensure that your newly-installed role or feature is automatically updated, turn on Windows Update."
Is there an "undocumented" silent switch that I can append to the "Install-WindowsFeature" command-let that suppresses this?

    Hi,
I'm not completely sure about this, but you could try setting the $WarningPreference variable to SilentlyContinue.

    Solved it!
    1-go to "edit", select Preferences.
2-select from the left pane: Security (enhanced)
3-click on "add folder path" button just below the big white box
4-pick a folder of your choice and click "ok". (your selected folder path will appear in that white box above the "add folder path" button in step 3)
5-if you want to add additional folders, just repeat steps 3 & 4
6-once you are done, click "ok" on the preferences screen and click "ok" again to accept the changes.
Yes, it seems illogical, but it worked.
I tested by closing the Reader (X), then surfed the web and did what Neher5 was explaining he/she wanted to do just after opening a pdf from a website and lo-and-behold,  it worked!. No more "save to temp folder" issues.
    Hope this helps.

The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion or Mountain Lion. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    System Requirements for 10.6:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider: fees may apply.
You can upgrade direct from 10.6.8 to 10.8 Mountain Lion without going through 10.7 Lion with the Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody. The Model 5,1 will probably run 10.9 Mavricks when it comes out.
10.8 Mountain Lion is a download from the App Store, the price is $19.99.
Mountain Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.
As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.8 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also Mountain Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Mountain Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.
