My TC light is remaining blinking amber. I reset it and have internet access and it is backing up but can't get the light green. Any Suggestions?
I seem to have problems with  my TC every time I do software update.

Connect to your TC with AirPort Utility, which should explain the problem.

  • MacBook Pro power adapter doesn't show green light when fully charged

I've had a quick search through the communities and there are a lot of posts about chargers and indicator lights, but I'm not sure I'm really satisfied about my own issue so I thought I'd ask anyway.
Basically, I bought a spare power adapter (genuine Apple 85W MagSafe2) for my new 15" Retina MacBook Pro in a store the other day, to save me lugging my main adapter to and from work all the time.
Using it for the first time made me realise that the adapter I got with my MBP behaves slightly differently re: the LED indicators. The new one from the store shows amber until the MBP is fully charged, then solid green once fully charged. This I believe is perfectly normal.
The charger I got with the MBP shows amber whilst charging, but only shows green very briefly when fully charged and then the indicator goes out completely. OSX (10.8.2) still indicates that it is connected to the power source though, and the battery doesn't drain or anything at this point - it definitely appears to be functioning as expected.
Aside from this, I can determine no real difference between the two adapters in terms of charging speed or general functionality, they both appear fine.
I just wondered if anyone else had ever seen this?
I did reset the MBP's SMC settings too, but it made no difference. I'm inclined to think there isn't an issue with the laptop itself since the new adapter's indicators work exactly as I'd expect, but then again the original adapter seems to function perfectly so I'm wondering if there's just some trivial issue with the green LEDs or something like that.

Really doesn't matter if anyone else has or has not seen something like what you have. Your original adapter is faulty in one way or another and you should take it in to Apple with your rMBP to show them what is happening and Ask Nicely for a new one that works correctly.

  • Power light off, doesn't want to go on!

My ipod shuffle doesn't want to turn on, I tried to charge it for my whole sleep and it still hasn't turned on. I downloaded the updater and itunes again, and it seems fine when its plugged in the computer. The light is solid orang when is charging but when I take it out and switch the power switch, it does no want to turn on. Any help?

Does the status light ever turn solid green to indicate charging is completed?
What does the Battery Check light show when you've unplugged it?
What happens when you turn it on? When you press Play? Do any lights come on momentarily? Does anything else happen?

And, don't think that just because it was two teaspoons and not a glassful that there is a difference.
Some liquid has just spilled into your Mac. What should you do?
    Do
Immediately shut down the computer and unplug the power cord.
Remove the computer's battery (if you can)
Disconnect any peripherals (printers, iPods, scanners, cameras, etc.)
Lay the computer upside down on paper towels to get as much liquid as possible to drip out.
Note what was spilled on your Mac.
Bring the computer into an Apple store or AASP as soon as possible.
    Don't
Don't try to turn it back on. Liquids can help electrical current move about the components of your Mac in destructive ways.
Don't shake the computer (this will only spread the liquid around).
Don't use a hair dryer on it (even at a low setting a hair dryer will damage sensitive components).
Do not put in a bag of rice in as much as rice will get into the ports and optical drive and do further damage.

The HDD is fine, because i withdrew and tested in other PC and boot fine.
If anyone has any ideas, please help.
    Thanks...

If the power light flashes after power-up, it is very likely to be that the system is failing the power on self test, and the flashing is the way it is reporting the fault to you. If so, the system should also beep.
The power on self-test resides in the ROM of the computer. This test runs whenever the computer is turned on after being fully shut down (the power-on self-test does not run if the computer is only restarted).
If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime. Instead, the system will beep as explained below. If you experience one of these beeps, you may call your Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional troubleshooting assistance.
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable
+In addition to the beeps, on some computers the power LED will flash a corresponding number of times plus one. The LED will repeat the sequence after approximately a 5-second pause. The tones are only played once.+

  • Computer won't turn on and the power cord doesn't light up

My problem with the computer is that it will not turn on. The battery is fully charged, power cord is plugged into a working outlet. I have held down the power button for 10 second or even longer. Nothing turns it on and the power cord doesn't light up at all. Any thing will help.
    Thanks

First, check that your AC outlet has power. Second, see this article: Intel-based iMac- What to do if your computer won't turn on and this one Resetting MacBook and MacBook Pro System Management Controller (SMC).

  • 3400c will not boot/ green power light remains on

Strange thing happened. We lost power while I was away and when I came back my 3400c was on (the green power light was lit) but it will not boot, shut down or power up. Will not respond to the power button or force quit keys. I tried removing the cd drive, the battery and unplugging but when I reconnect the power all that I get is the green light. No internal noise, won't boot. Also, I tried pressing the reset "button" in the back and the green light will flash but nothing else happens. It hasn't been my main computer for awhile and I no longer have it connected to the internet but it is nice for the kids to run their cd games on it. Anyone have any idea on how I can go about troubleshooting this laptop.

I've done a ton of tinkering with my 3400c, and currently am having fun installing Linux on it. Through my adventures with this thing, I've occasionally seen the stationary green light.
I'd recommend removing what's in the media bay, and any PCMCIA cards, unplugging all components and removing the battery.
Disconnect the unit from power and press the PMU reset button on the back, and hold it for several seconds.
Let the unit sit for about 10 minutes, just to be on the thorough side. Then reconnect the power cable (no battery/media bay necessary). What SHOULD happen is an immediate boot chime.
If the issue persists, you might try booting into open firmware:
Hold down Option + Apple + O + F, and press the power key on upper right of keyboard while holding these keys. Hold them down until you (hopefully) see a grayish-white screen.
If so, type these lines, return after each one:
    init-nvram
    set-defaults
    reset-all
If all goes well, should reboot normally. If not, you may have a hardware issue on your hands. I'd try disassembling it and removing debris, looking for loose components or any point of failure, but if not you may require a new logic board. Luckily, either a 3400c or Kanga G3 board will work with these models if that's the case. (Only caviat is that the ram that originally came with some 3400c models will not work on the Kanga logic boards).

  • Compaq presario SR1504x green power light

    Hello dotdot65,
A blinking green light could mean it's getting close to time to replace your power supply.
However, let's try this troubleshooting step
    1.  Turn off the computer and unplug it
    2. Hold down the power button for 10-15 seconds
    3. Reconnect the power supply and boot up
This will kill all the power to the motherboard and completely discharge it, let me know if the light is solid green after that.

  • New HomeHub 4 stuck on Green Power Light????

Just got this and it booted up fine then after about an hour it became stuck on a green power light.
Its lost all broadband ,wi-fi and lan connections and I can't even do a reset....any ideas
I've seen others with this problem but never saw a solution

Tried that a few times and it did nothing, the light remained on the whole time.
I have just managed to restart the hub by holding in the WPS button for 20+ secs and then did a software reset once my PC could reconnect.
So far its kept going and hopefully stays that way....the 1st hour or so showed a decent performance advantage over my old Homehub 3

  • UC320W power light just flashing green ?

    Hi All,
I have just turned on my UC320W and the power, LAN and WAN lights just keeps flashing green. Does anybody know what could be up with it ?
    Thanks
    Josh

    Hi Joshua,
Is your UC320W able to give you DHCP address?  Does it respond to ping?
Try power cycle first, if this does not help, proceed to perform a factory default, then load a saved configuration or site_backup.
If unit still does not respond to any of these, I suggest to quickly call in the Small Business Support Center for further troubleshooting.

First check the connections on the power adapter and the MBP.  Make certain that they are clean and see if the spring loaded connectors on the power adapter are not stuck.
    Try a SMC reset:

If available, try another power adapter.
