Power Supply Model Numbers for WRT54G vs BEFW11S4

I have a spare WRT54G (v5) and a BEFW11S4 (v4) and two power supplies and I'm trying to determine which supply fits which router.  I have
Model:AM-1201000D41 (AD 12/1C)
Model: AM-12500 (AD 12/0.5C)
How do I know which one is appropriate for each device?
Thanks,
Steve

I read a few more postings and it appears that the WRT54G uses a 0.5A power supply (from the Linksys web site: Power External, 12V DC, 0.5A) which implies I should mate the AM-12500 power supply with the G router.

  • What kind of Power Supply to buy for my Power Mac G5?

    Hello!
After trying several things, and poking around several forums on the net I have become convinced that my Power Mac G5 needs a new Power Supply.  My big question is how do I know what kind of Power Supply to get for it?
My computer is one of the last of the Power Mac G5's with Motorola chips; it has the dual 2.7 GHz processor core.  I know the install will be tricky, but I feel confident I can do it.
The Apple store doesn't sell these Power Supplies any more, and our other local Apple repair store said they'd have to "match up the serial numbers" in order to find a new Power Supply... but they also wanted to charge me $200.  (I'm a poor high school science teacher and would rather do it myself.)
Any words of wisdom/explanations on how to find the right type of Power Supply for my computer would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you both, Mac Man JW & Old Comm Guy!
My problem has been that the computer won't start at all.  When I press the button on the front panel, I hear the click of a relay (like normal) but then nothing happens... no fans spinning up, no hard drive spinning up... silence.
When I open the side panel and press the button, I can see that the 2 cooling fans twitch just a little bit but they immediately stop.  The only other thing I can see is that the red LED 7 light comes on, and according to everything I've read that light means 'contact an Apple representative.'
This started about 2 weeks ago.  Hadn't had any trouble before then... if there were any warning signs I sure didn't see them.
If you think it might be something else I'm definitely willing to listen!
Did you check the liquid cooling system inside your G5 for leaks? That can make your G5 not start up as well. Look at this link: http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g5/faq/powermac-g5-liquid-cooling -info-leaks-issues.html

  • POWER SUPPLY info needed for GRAPHICS CARD UPGRADE!!!

I have a HP PAVILION p6631p and ide like to add a graphics card, but I was told I had to upgrade my power supply.
The card I purchased is the SAPPHIRE RADEON R7 260X 2GB and I was told I need a 500watt or higher power supply.
I was looking at the CORSAIR BRAND power supplies and tried emailing them to help me find the right power supply, but they said they needed to know what type of power supplies HP use in this model PC.
I didnt know what to do so im hoping someone can help me out with this information CORSAIR is asking for so they can help select me the right power supply for my PC.
I been searching for answers for weeks. Hopefully someone can help. Thanks.

    KJonline, welcome to the forum.
You were told correctly.  You will have to upgrade the power supply unit (PSU) for the video card to work properly.
The PSU in the computer is a standard ATX.  I suggest measuring the existing PSU and comparing the measurements to the one you choose.
I normally suggest at least 500W, but 600W is better for future upgrades.  Here is a PSU that should work for you. It is 650W and is an Enthusiast series.  This means that it has all of the power that you will need.  It is 5.9" (W) x  3.4" (H) x 6.3" (L).

  • Sending command strings to a Sorensen (Ametek / Xantrex) power supply model XDL 35-5TP

    Hi all,
I am using the above mentioned power suply to control test units during end of line tests.  I can do all the normal funtions through the manufacturers supplied library of vi's.  The problem is, I need to make sure the voltage being seen by the unit under test is correct and therefor am using the remote sense function on the power supply.  Essentially this runs a pair of sense leads to the point of measurement and allows the power supply to compensate for any voltage drop that is seen in the circuit.
As I am on the downstream side of a solid state relay with the sense leads, I need to cycle the remote sense function so that it is not trying to compensate when the SSR is off (sense would read zero volts and try to run the voltage up to compensate for what it sees as a loss)
The attached diagram shows how I am trying to send the command using the supplied Write Data vi but the power supply never responds to the command.  I have tried different commands with no success and am hoping there is someone that has run across this to give me a hint as to what I am doing wrong.
    Any assistance is much appeciated

Code is attached including the TQLP library.  The manual states that white space (spaces) are ignored so it does not matter if they are present or not.  I will include that section of the manual as well and near the end of that it shows the syntax for the SENSE command that I am trying to use.

  • Where can I buy a replacement power supply (model VP-09500018-000) for my 1st generation Time Capsule?

My 1st Time Capsule no longer powers on!  It was making noises for a while before it would no longer keep power / turn on!   I have taken the time capsule apart and could easily replace the power supply if I knew where to buy it   Can anyone lead me in the right direction?
    Thank you!

Apple do not supply it as a part.
You can repair the existing supply.
    https://sites.google.com/site/lapastenague/a-deconstruction-of-routers-and-modem s/apple-time-capsule-repair/apple-time-capsule-repair-type2
Plenty of people sell the caps set on ebay. Cheaper if you have a good electronics store handy but they need to be top quality low esr capacitors.
Substitute a different kind of power supply.
I definitely believe in using external power supply for this job. This is my own website so disclaimer.
    https://sites.google.com/site/lapastenague/time-capsule-power-supply-repair-kits
Or some original type are available on ebay. Just search for "Time Capsule power supply"
Or look at what a whole second hand TC will cost you.. a Gen3 or Gen4 can be a better proposition than repairing a dead Gen1.
You can also do a half repair.. By that I mean you only need one voltage to run the TC.. a single 5v 3A power supply plugged into the TC board socket or soldered directly in.. will give you an airport extreme Gen2 for $10. Plug the hard drive in by USB.. or use a bit of careful hacking and use a SATA cable to the post on the board and use a 2TB or even 3TB esata case.
You can also still buy a Cisco dual voltage supply on ebay.. but the wiring of it is a bit rough.

    Thank you.

    Hello,
I see that you're having an issue finding out what Power cord to purchase for your notebook.
You can go here to find out what part you will need to get to replace the power cord.
Also, if you want, you can just give me the product number of the notebook and I will find out both part #'s and also show you where to purchase the parts.
Here is a document showing you how to find the product number on the notebook.

I checked every other possibility in the setup of my system and came to the conclusion that the power supply has died. I confirmed this by using a OHM-Meter which showed no power flowing through the device.

    Model: UA-450
If anyone knows if/where I can get a replacement part.
I emailed Customer service but have yet to receive any reply.
    Thanks in advance,

Thanks for your note.. I am still not getting any display or Target firewire startup after
several days of off and on attempts to try every variation of reset, pram/nvram reset et.al because i hoped to have one shot at re-booting it to avoid sending it out for repair with data on the hard drive.
I've tried with and w/o battery in... (fully charged). I'm able to get through the PMU using shift-fn-ctrl-power keyboard combo but on subsequent attempts to restart,
power button with T or even power button alone, there is no power-on at all but a few times I've been able to get the PMU reset and before I go to manually restart it, it restarts (chime) itself, however the only thing indicating it is on is that the caps lock key lights and i can hear (listening with my ear to the thing that it's "on..." yet the drive never gets spinning - If there's any other idea to trick this thing into a Target FW startup or other means of accessing the HD to remove certain data i'm still hoping to get this one fixed (esp. if it is only the cost of a Logic Board replacement.
What is really curious is that a few times it has gone to a PMU reset (with the single beep) even when i have just tried to startup with the power-button alone....and then, as i say, restarted (well, powered on..but nothing else...no display, no drive recognition presumably...)

  • Finding power supply that works for 6251 mega pc

Hi!  I just bought a 6251 on ebay.  The person said the unit was like new (ha, ha)..I asked questions about the power supply & was assured it would work.  Surprise, surprise...got it 2 days ago & the fan does not work (no spinning).  I tried using a can of air to get it going, but no luck.
The model in it is a enhance 2920.  I wrote to MSI...no help at all.  Can't find the fsp250-60ms model either anywhere stateside.  Is there any alternative?
    Thanks,
    M.

I end up in a loop going nowhere...one of my replies was the following:
    Dear Customer,
Your email contains inquires that will be needing our technical support dept to answer or you are requesting a part/accessories for our product lines, which out tech support dept. handles. Please go to http://www.msicomputer.com/msiapps/ts_form.aspx to fill out the form in order to put your inquiry through our tech dept. Only the fields with "*" are needed to be filled. However, if you cannot fill out all the required fields, just simply put "n/a." There is also "Problem Description" field at the very end of the form, where you can type is specifically what your inquiry is. If you prefer to call them, you may do so @ 626 581 3001 and press the option for tech support. Our tech dept has high call volumes every day, and ½ staffed during lunch hours (12~2pm). I tried filling out the form & got nowhere.  My original inquiry was the following:
    To: MSI RMA
    Subject: looking for power supply
I am looking to buy a replacement power supply for the MSI mega pc model no 6251.  It is model no. FSP250-60ms.
    Sincerely,
I also tried FSP group & got the following reply:
Thank you for your e-mail inquiry.
    Regarding this model FSP250-60MS
This model is not a standard model of our product line.
This is a special proprietairy modeification on output contector PD & PE
The output voltage on PD & PE is  +12Vstandby instead of +12V,   +5V standby instead of +5V
We have no stock of this special item.
Please contact your computer supplier and ask for after sales service
    Thanks
I cannot contact the supplier as I bought the computer on ebay.
so....am still trying to get ahold of a new power supply.

Depending on what company made the PS, most companies over exagerate what they will do, or give a peak power output instead of a constant rated amprage. If thier PS will maintain a constant 200watt under full load, then it will get the job done in a all-in-1 unit. Check this page for power consumption of all your parts. It`s kinda old and the values for the VC and processors could be a bit higher, but it will give you a good idea.
