PPM in Java

Hello!
In advence I would like to say "sorry" for my weak English skills.
I have been writing a program for few hours. I have problems with ppm (portable pixmap) files.
My program should read ppm files, can change P3 to P6 and .jpg to .ppm (in two ways)
I know how to read and write normal files for example jpg or gif (I have already done this). But I have no idea if we speak about
ppm files... Could you help me...? Maybe do you have examplary codes how to work with these files?
Thank you and have a nice day.

Just another cross poster.

  • Using Java Webservices provided by xRPM 4.0 in PPM 5.0

    Hi,
    We have developed some custom WD ABAP applications in PPM 4.5 which were using Java webservices provided by xRPM 4.0 to get the UI context.
    The details are provided in the document
    https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/012006153200000315412008E/How_to_xRPM_custom_iView.pdf
    We have upgraded to PPM 5.0 and the custom webDynpro application is not able to fetch the UI context and get the portfolio GUID. I have verified that the RFC destination and Logical port required to call Java webservices is maintained as mentioned in the above document.
    Are these SAP standard Java webservices available for use in PPM 5.0 ? Please let me know if we need to change the custom code to fetch the UI context in PPM 5.0
    Thanks,
    Yomesh

    Thanks Amit for the confirmation. I am following SAP Note 0001399319 which mentions about how to develop for custom WD ABAP applications in PPM 5.0.
    The example WDA component mentioned in the note is /RPM/CUSTOM_COMPONENT. I am developed a custom WD ABAP application in lines with the SAP note and still not able to get the GUID in the context.
    The code written in WDDOINIT of these applications is as below,
      instantiate session state class
        wd_this->mr_session_state = cl_inm_session_state=>get_instance( ).
    Obtain current context from session state.
        CALL METHOD wd_this->mr_session_state->get_current_context
          IMPORTING
            es_context = wd_this->ms_context.
    I am getting null in ms_context.
    Please let me know if you have tried to implement an custom WDA application in PPM 5.0. Not sure what am I missing in the above scenario.
    Thanks,
    Yomesh

  • Stack file that is generated does not contain any java components

Though we have configured Java in solution manager the stack file that is generated does not contain any java components and so the installation is stuck up. Kindly request you to advice us on this issue .

    Though we have configured Java in solution manager the stack file that is generated does not contain any java components
    You will probably need to update Solution Manager first with a number of corrections so you can get a correctly generated stack file. Depending on your ST400 version in Solution Manager apply collective corrections from "Note 1461849 - MOpz: Collective corrections 24" or "Note 1452118 - MOpz: Collective Corrections 23". They generally deal with these kind of stack file issues.

    I can see in the log that stack xml you are using is not for the system to whom  you are upgrading. That is the reason system is rejecting stack file. Please check above extract of logs.
    I would suggest you to please generate stack xml file for this system from MOPZ after correctly configuring SMSY and use it. Then your problem will be resolved.
    Thanks

  • SAP PLM, ERP, PPM relationships

    Hi PLM experts,
    I have some questions about the SAP PLM products as below, would you share your insights? Thanks.
    1. Most of PLM sub-modules are the functions of SAP ECC components as I see. So what's the relationship between SAP PLM and SAP ECC?
    2. SAP PLM can be installed as an independent instance or as an integrated instance with SAP ECC as I read from document. Is it correct?
    3. I read SAP PPM can be installed as an independent instance as well, what's PPM relationship to SAP PLM?
    4. Most PLM user interface is using Web UI. Is it based ABAP webdynpro or Java webdynpro? Someone told me it's based on FPM framework in ABAP wedynpro. If you know, please share me your idea as well.
    5. Any workflow function in SAP PLM? If user requires workflow to manage R&D process in SAP PLM, is it using similar ABAP workflow technology as in SAP ECC? Or java-based workflow as in BPM?
    Appreciate your expert share.

    Hi Justin,
    see responses below:
    1. Most of PLM sub-modules are the functions of SAP ECC components as I see. So what's the relationship between SAP PLM and SAP ECC?
    SAP PLM capabilities are an integral part of SAP ECC, some are natively available like SAP GUI based BOM Management, Classification, Variant Configuration, Engineeering Change Management, etc., some , especially those in the PLM Web UI, need to be activated through Business Functions made available in various standard SAP ECC Enhancement Packages and partially licensed, like e.g. Engineering Record, Product Structure Synchronization, Access Control Management.
    2. SAP PLM can be installed as an independent instance or as an integrated instance with SAP ECC as I read from document. Is it correct?
    Yes.
    3. I read SAP PPM can be installed as an independent instance as well, what's PPM relationship to SAP PLM?
    SAP PPM is a a standalone product with its own license. It integrates into SAP ERP/PLM and other legacy and Business Suite solutions.
    4. Most PLM user interface is using Web UI. Is it based ABAP webdynpro or Java webdynpro? Someone told me it's based on FPM framework in ABAP wedynpro. If you know, please share me your idea as well.
    PLM Web UI is ABAP WebDynpro.  And yes, it uses Floor Plan Manager.
    5. Any workflow function in SAP PLM? If user requires workflow to manage R&D process in SAP PLM, is it using similar ABAP workflow technology as in SAP ECC? Or java-based workflow as in BPM?
    SAP Business Workflow is leveraged in SAP PLM. Anyone can feel free to use SAP BPM as well, especially if workflows are crossing applications, and need to be orchestrated accordingly.
    Hope this helps.
    Ulf.

  • JSP not executing the java code

    Hello there.
    my m/c: tru64 unix
    Apache version: 2.0
    tomcat version: 4.0.5
    browser version: IE5
    I have index.jsp as
    =======
    <HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE> Vimala's JSP </TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    Hello <%= request.getParameter ("name") %>
    <%
    for (int i=1; i < 5; i++)
    out.print ("<BR> Sample JSP loop");
    %>
    <FORM METHOD=POST ACTION="vimala.jsp">
    Enter nothing
    <INPUT TYPE=TEXTAREA NAME=name>
    <BR><BR><INPUT TYPE=SUBMIT>
    </FORM>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    =======
    The above neither prints the getParameter ("name") as passed in URL nor it prints the "for loop" values.
    However the html related things such as title and Form are properly displayed in the browser.
    I think I'm missing something in the tomcat (server.xml) or apache (httpd.conf) configurations. Your inputs to solve my problem is very much appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Vimala.

    If we are using PPM 5 standalone (without portal) and we want to include it into Federated Portal Network, which steps we have to follow to configurate PPM in the Federated Portal. Do we have to install stack java for PPM 5 at portal level or can we have PPM as producer without stack java in the consumer (federated portal).
    Thanks a lot,
    CAMILO URIBE

    Hi Camelo,
    For PPM 5.0, you need only abap stack only. For the portal you will need java stack also.
    Business packege need to be applied for PPM 5.0 and the necesarry settings need to be done in portal to access PPM through portal.
    The federaed or non-fedarated option is for portal only and it will not impact the decison of accessing PPM through portal.

  • RPM 4.5 upgrade to PPM 5.0

    Basic question. We are planning to upgrade our current RPM4.5 (Dual Stack) system to PPM 5.0 (NW702). What we heard was, starting PPM 5.0, it is going to be single stack(only ABAP) system. Assume that we are not going to use KM, would all Java components become obsolete?!  Is there a way we can cleanup all unwanted Java component?!
    Can we consider PPM 5.0 sytem as single stack system after upgrade (to perform system copy/refresh)?! Thanks in advance.

    I do not think we can consider PPM 5.0 system as a single stack system after the upgrade. As it still has certain Java elements that are supported I know in CPR UI  Java is no longer supported. But on the other hand if you are doing a fresh install of PPM 5.0 it is definitely a single stack.
    Did you get done with your upgrade? Any useful tips?
    regards

  • RFC Debugging and Cache Admin not available in PPM 5.0

    Hi Experts,
    RFC Debugging  and Cache Administration is not available  in PPM 5.0 as compared to RPM 4.5. Is it due to single ABAP stack model of PPM 5.0 ? Complete transformation from java to ABAP webdynpro components  ?  Any idea on this ?
    Best Regards,
    Siva

    Siva,
    Yes, you are right, As enerything is moved to ABAP stack in SAP PPM 5.0. RFC Debugging and Cache Administration is not required in SAP PPM 5.0.

  • SMD error: PPMS Modelling is inconsistent with SMSY. Check PPMS Keys

    Hi,
    In extractors configured - WORKLOAD ANALYSIS (Introscope DATE) - BI Java, i have an inconsistency for Enterprise Portal:
    ERROR: Consistency Check: PPMS Modelling is inconsistent with SMSY. Check PPMS Keys.
    I can not find the problem. Can you help me?
    Best regards,
    Diego.

    Hello Diego,
    In regards to the error you are getting:
    "PPMS Modelling is inconsistent with SMSY. Check PPMS Keys."
    There is a daily consistency check against SMSY.  In case that the PPMS information in SMSY changed, we flag the relevant
    extractor in order to prevent collecting of false data. Please delete the inconsistent extractors for system <select your managed SID> in the EFWK AdminUI (Managing System -> Inconsistent Extractors) and rerun the managed system setup for system <select your managed SID>.
    This will resolve your issue.
    Thanks,
    Mark

  • Multimode PPM

    Hi,
    Can anybody please help me in knowing how modes are used in PPM during Planning, i.e why the bapi Z_ORDER_CHANGE always plan for 1st mode...and even over constraint it,but dont takes 2nd mode for Planning.
    It will be a great help.

    Hi Lars,
    This issue may be related to java..
    Is your graphic view in PPM project is working fine?
    If no, then which java(64 bit or 32bit) is installed on your system?
    If you have installed 64bit java, then try with 32bit..it worked for me.
    Note: You can post all your PPM queries in following SCN space to get replies from the all the experts.
