Practical maximum size limit of imported XSD files

Can anybody tell me if there is a kind of upper limit on the size of XSD files that can be imported into XI and used without problems?
I have seen a comment before that states XI will 'choke' on large XSD files, and that enumerations were recommended to be left out of the file if there are a lot of them and it is possible to do so.
Also, if the same XSD file is used in many scenarios. is it loaded into memory once, or many times?
BR,
Tony.

Use a JAVA memory profiler in your Netweaver J2EE instance. Run the scenario where it use the XSD structure and XML file. Look for the classes from SAP's XML processing related JAR files and see how profiler is reporting about these class object usage.
I am also seeing two different ideas getting mixed here in this thread.
An ideal class load into the heap and usage of a another properatory system to handle large processing are different ideas.
XSLT mapping and XSLT engine is a framework which use JAVA heap. However  the Queues used in context with an XSLT mapping in XI is a properatory approach to efficiently handle multiple operations in a mapping process efficiently, so we have to differtiate both aspects of large size file we can handle in a Java engine.

  • Is there a maximum size limit for a single file?

    I haven't been able to find a statement of the maximum size of a file. We're looking at storing several 5-10gb files in one file library.
    Is it possible?
    How badly would that impact performance?

    maximum size of a file. All files are stored as Binary Large Objects (BLOBs), A BLOB max size is (4 gigabytes -1) * (the value of the CHUNK parameter of LOB storage). Oracle Content Services configures its LOBs to have a 32K chunk size
    Note that there is a overhead by storing large files, you should compress your files if possible before storing them.

    How badly would that impact performance?Compared to what? Oracle ASM gives you the ability to stripe your content over hundreds of physcal disks to improve the performence. http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/database/asm/index.html

  • Is there a size limit on importing avi files in PE4?

    My attempt to import a 4 Gb avi file from an external hard drive is blocked by a generic failure. One of the suggested reason do not apply, namely the file (.avi) IS supported. Yes, it may be damaged, but it plays perfectly outside PE4. Or 'one of the necessary components may not have been installed'--if so which one?
    Does anyone have a similar experience, and/or a solution.

    I found DigitalMedia Converter years ago. I liked it so much, that I bought a copy for each of my computers (rather than just have one running it and using the LAN to move files about). I have an upgrade discount certificate, but have not yet upgraded my copies.
    The things that I like about it are that it's quick, has "batch conversion" and that it does NOT install any CODEC's, but it uses all that I have properly installed. It works 99% of the time, just perfectly.
    The only issue that I have ever encountered are with Duration and PrPro. Sometimes, the DV-AVI Type II's will Import into PrPro, but their Duration will not be correct - maybe 01:40:00 out of a 30:00:00 real Duration. My workaround for this behavior is to just Import the problem file into PrE 4 (in my case), and immediately do an Export/Share to DV-AVI Type II. I know, that's the same exact format/CODEC, but now, PrPro sees the correct Duration perfectly. Why? I have no clue. I have tried everything that I could to find out the differences, to no avail. The files show exactly the same in G-Spot and also spec out as identical in DupeFile Finder. Still, there has to be some difference, and PrPro picks up on that, and does not recognize the correct Duration. PrE 4 always has. This is extremely odd, as I can batch convert 4 parts of a file with the same exact CODEC, say DivX, and 3 of the 4 will have the correct Duration in PrPro - 1 will not, until I use PrE to "correct" things. Some day, I will find out the "why," but until then, I have an iron-clad workaround - PrE!
    Hope that this helps. Also, many sing the praises of some freeware converters, like Prism, but I have never tried them. I'd looked a dozen others, those many years ago, and then found DMC and never looked further.
    Good luck,

    The following files weren't attached because adding them would cause the message to exceed the maximum size limit of 35 MB.
    I have had my macbook pro since June and have had no problems sending an email until I have tried to send a presentation today. The above message is what I keep receiving even after using 3 email accounts.

    Email providers often set file size limitations to conserve bandwidth and prevent service overload.  Most common seems to be a limit on the order of 21 MB.  If possible, break your presentation into two parts and send as two messages.

    so how can you help me to increase the attachment size and the way to do that
    how can I change the default 10 MB
    Please can you help me as soon as
    Rawa Zangana

    Hi Rawa,
    You can use EAC or EMS to set the MaxSendSize. The default value of MaxSendSize is 10 MB.
    If you use EAC, here is the steps:
    Logon to EAC -> Mail flow -> Receive connectors -> settings-> type the Maximum send message size you want to set
    If you use EMS, please use the cmdlet Rajith provided.
    Hope it helps.

    HI,
      PI doestnt support special characters like '-'. first you need to change the file name as you specify '-'. to remove that and you have to give '_'. then uyou have to impot >XSD file into ESR under ExternalDefination.
    i hope this will help you.

       During creating Data Type in the build, I try to import XSD file, but system says:" XSD schema containing the construct "choice" are not permitted here"!
       I found in the XSD, there are this definition:
                                  <xsd:element name="EmploymentInfo" minOccurs="0">

    Hi,
    replace choice with sequence
    <b><xsd:complexType>
         <xsd:choice>
              <xsd:element name = “A” type=”xsd:string” />
              <xsd:element name= B” type=”xsd:string” maxOccurs=”unbounded” />
         </xsd:choice>
    </xsd:complexType></b>
    is handled identical to
    <b><xsd:complexType>
         <xsd:sequence>
              <xsd:element name = “A” type=”xsd:string” minOccurs=”0” />
              <xsd:element name= B” type=”xsd:string”
    minOccurs=”0” maxOccurs=”unbounded” />
         </xsd:sequence>

  • How to import xsd file inside XSD folder in Oracle SOA 11g

    Hi,
    I need to import xsd file inside XSD folder provided by the deafult structure while creating SOA project. When I used to import the web resource it imports it inside public_html folder not inside XSD folder.
    How to do that ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Are you using Jdeveloper on a windows machine? If you are then this might be a useful tip.
    Click Tools -> External Tools. It will prompt you to setup common tools. Let it do this. Now when you right click on your project you will get an Explore Directory option. I use this a lot when copying XSD’s between projects.
    Once you have done this you need to click the refresh button in the Application Navigator to ensure the new files appear.

  • Any maximum size limit to an Oracle database?

    Is there a maximum size limit to Oracle database?
    What is the maximum columns and rows the database can grow to?
    Is there any documentation stating the max size for the Oracle database?

    The maximum size supported by Oracle in respect of the Oracle RDBMS is 512 Petabytes or
    536,870,912 GigaBytes. This was introduced w/ Oracle Release 8.0.3 and higher. The Oracle Release 7 limit was 4 Terabytes.

  • Want to know Maximum size limit for TimesTen version 5.1.x

    Hello,
    I know that in prior releases the maximum TimesTen database size limit was 2GB.I got this info from one of the TimesTen documentation.
    As of now Im using version 5.1.x.Here Im not able to get any info regarding the maximum size limit of a TimesTen datastore. Please help me
    Thanks In Advance
    Pratheej

    Also be aware that on Windows you can rarely achieve a data store size of >1g
    It's down to the way Windows handles it'd DLLS - they tend to get loaded in a fragmented way and since TimesTen needs one contiguous slice of shared memory this causes a problem.

  • Is there a Maximum file size limit when combining pdf files

    I am trying to combine files 8 PDF files created with i Explore using Acrobat XI Standard, the process is completed but when opening the file not all 8 individual files have been combined only the first two have been combined, the process shows all eight being read and combined.
    I can open and view each of the original 8 individual files and read the content without any issue, the largest of the eight files is 15,559kb and the smallest is 9,435kb
    if anyone can assist that would be most appreciated

    Hi Tayls450,
    This should not have happened as there is no maximum file size limit when combining PDFs.
    Please let me know if there are some password protected PDFs also?
    Also, I would suggest you to choose 'Repair Acrobat Installation' option from the Help menu.

  • What is the maximum size limit for a KM document to be uploaded?

    Hi,
    1.  I have a requirement, wherein the user wants to upload a document which is more than 448MB in KM.
    I am not sure what is the maximum limit that standard SAP provides by default, which I can advice the user at the first place.
    2. what if we want to increase the max limit of the size?Where do we do that, can you suggest me the path for the same?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello,
    CM Repository in DB Mode:
    If there is a large number of write requests in your CM usage scenario, set up the CM repository in database mode. Since all documents are stored in the database, this avoids unintentional
    external manipulation of the data.
    CM Repository in FSDB Mode:
    In this mode, the file system is predominant. If files are removed from or added to the file system, the database is updated automatically.
    If you mainly have read requests, choose a mode in which content is stored in the file system. If this is the case, make sure that access to the relevant part of the file system is denied or
    restricted to other applications.
    What is the maximum size of the document that we can upload in a CM (DB) and CM (FSDB) without compromising the performance ?
    There are the following restrictions for the databases used:
    ·  Maximum number of resources (folders, documents) in a repository instance
       FSDB: No restriction (possibly limited by file system restrictions)
       DBFS and DB: 2,147,483,648
    ·  Maximum size of an individual resource:
       FSDB: No restriction (possibly limited by file system restrictions)
       DBFS: 8 exabytes (MS SQL Server 2000), 2 GB (Oracle)
       DB: 2 GB
    Maximum length of large property values (string type):2,147,583,647 byte
    What is the impact on the performance of Knowledge Management Platform and on Portal Platform when there are large number of documents that are in sizes somewhere from 100 MB to 500 MB or more.
    The performance of the KM and Portal platform is dependent on the type of activity the user is trying to perform. That is a heavy number of retrievals of the large documents stored in the repository for
    read/write mode decreases the performance of the patform. Searching and indexing in the documents will also take a propertionate amount of time.
    For details, please refer to,
    http://help.sap.com, Goto "KM Platform" and then,
    Knowledge Management Platform   > Administration Guide
    System Administration   > System Configuration
    Content Management Configuration   > Repositories and Repository
    Managers    > Internal Repositories   > CM Repository Manager
    Technically speaking the VM has a restriction according to plattform.  W2k is somewhere around 1,2G and Solaris, I believe, 4G.
    Say for instance I was on a W2k box I allotted 500+ for my J2EE Engine that would leave me with the possiblity to upload close to 600mb documents max.
    See if the attached documents (610134, 634689, 552522) can provide you some guidance for setting your VM to meet your needs.
