Preload an image thats called with XML

is there a simple way to do this ...
all my research on "xml preloaders"
always refers to preloading the xml --- obviously
but not the content the xml is calling...
im dealing with some high qualityu photos - and need
something to kill the white space while they load.
any help is greatly appreciated.

actually, i am using struts. I have an action servlet and with a few helper classes those do the generating. I mentioned jsp's to simplify the problem and to explain it.

How can I have a browser image that scrolls with images on top of it scrolling in tandem - so the background is a hexagon pattern with small images inside some hexagons and I want them all to be scrollable as a user uses the browser scroll bars. At the moment the background image jumps when I preview so the small hexagons all become out of alignment. Any tips appreciated. I have browser image set to tile - pinned at the middle and set to scrolling - the small images are not pinned -

Thanks for your answer - The images on the top layer are also links and change to show they're links on rollover - so I wanted to keep them as separate graphics - and it works to a point but when I preview the page in a browser the tiled browser image always moves no matter how I pin it and then everything becomes unaligned. Any further suggestions appreciated.

Insert SWF that calls external XML files and images

I am using Acrobat XI Pro on a Windows 7 system.
I have a PDF in which I have an SWF file. This SWF file contains text content that is called from an XML file and also some images that is called externally. I have added the folder that contains the XML file and the images by right-clicking the SWF > Properties > Resources > Add Directory. However, none of the content is loading.
I have tried adding the images and xml file separately as well. Even that did not work.
What could be wrong? Please advise.

Debugging Flash content in a PDF from the Flash Pro or Flex editor is possible, but it's complicated (you need to juggle about with the SDK to load a special Acrobat plugin). If you're creating these SWFs yourself, the fastest way to debug is to add a bunch of ActionScript calls that report to Acrobat's console to tell you what's going on. Use ActionScript's externalInterface.call() and the Acrobat JS console.println() functions, just like if you were talking to JavaScript in a web page.
Rich media resources cannot be imported globally in Acrobat. In theory it's possible (the ISO standard allows XObject references to shared assets) but there's no authoring tool.

Specifying image frame location with XML and Indesign

I'm using CS4 to lay out a collection of documents of different lengths. The text comes from a database with XML tags attached, and is loaded into an Indesign template. I want to position image frames in the document automatically so they are next to their related text. Is it possible to insert some reference in the XML file which will tell the relevant image frame in the template to move next to its related text?

Getting filename of an image thats produced with JPEGImageEncoder?

I have something like:
response.setContentType("image/jpeg");
OutputStream output = response.getOutputStream();
JPEGImageEncoder encoder = JPEGCodec.createJPEGEncoder(output);

output.close(); The result when executed in a browser is a jpeg image file. What i want to do is get the file name of the generated image so that i can use <img src so that i can integrate it with the layout i have.

How to refresh images placed with XML?

Hi folks!
I placed some images and texts with XML to an InDesign (CS5) document. Unfortunately it's possible that the file is modified. In that case I want to start a script which updates the links. But that should happen later. First it's necessary to check if updating is possible.
For that I modified the file and refreshed my linked file. But all that is replaced are my texts. The images vanished and I had to place them again by hand.
What am I doing wrong? Could anybody help please?

Calls with zero duration are sent with 1/1/1970 timestamp

Hello.
We are configuring billing on a third-party server for a hospitality projects.
All is fine so far. However we saw that calls with zero duration (such as missed calls, busy tones etc) are tagged with a wrong timestamp of 1/1/70.
Since we are passing this over to the hotel PMS, they are having trouble interpret it and often their interface crashes.
Has someone encountered any similar issue?

I only see the 1970 date in fields like Call Connection time. And for a missed/busy call, that's the best you can do as the call didn't connect, so the call can't have a connection time. Either the field has the 1970 date, or it has NULL in it. Either way, if your third party software can't cope with it, it's broken as this is all as per Cisco's spec.
The use of the 1970 date is (OK, a time of zero) is clearly documented

Calls with no caller ID info still coming in...

I have Verizon digital voice. And this after having Vonage for years. Oh, how I sometimes wish I had never changed. Such as when I continually have phone calls ringing in that have "Unavailable" showing up on my TV screen and phone. I have set up my account so that calls with no caller ID available won't even ring. Perhaps someone here, another user or a VZ employee can explain this to me. I NEVER got a call that came in with no caller ID info when I had Vonage.
On another note, can someone else explain how numbers that are unpublished and unlisted, whether they are cell phones, home phones, or business phones, can be bought? For example, I would be really ticked off to find out, after paying for an unlisted and unpublished number, that someone can type my phone number in and buy my name, address, etc.

These are calls where the incoming caller ID information is there, but the caller has chosen to block it from appearing on your caller id display. *77 cannot block calls where there is no caller ID information sent, such as "unavailable", "unknown", or "out of area". Fill hidden field with xml - Web service call

Hi everyone,
I have a developed a web service, my web service method expects an xml string.
I have a new data connection, which is my wsdl file...
Now my challenge is how do I populate that field with my form's xml,so that my my method can manupulate it.
Secondly, I would like the same button that calls my web service to email the form once the web service has been called, email the form as PDF.
Will really appreciate your assistance.

You can use the below command to populate a field with the form's XML.
     FieldName.rawValue = xfa.data.saveXML("pretty");
To execute the webservice and then send an email,
     1. First place Execute button binding to the Webservice and make it either invisible/ hidden
     2. Place a normal button on the form and in the click event write code to call the webservice and then send the email.

          //Send an email

I made a small photoalbum and i want all the images to be
preloaded before the movie begins. I've been struggling with this
for almost 2days.
The images load from an xml. How can I preload all the images
and then start the movie?

Well, I'm kinda guessing at what's in your xml.
Let's say its similar to this;
<document>
<images>
<image>myimage.jpg</image>
<image>myimage2.jpg</image>
</images>
</document>
Then I think the following would work. I haven't tested it,
but it should work in principle based on things I've done in the
past. If you have a fixed number of holder clips (ie. the xml will
always contain 5 images for example) then you can approach things
this way. Otherwise you'd need the code to create empty holderclips
for loading into as well, once the number of images has been
counted.

Problems loading images dynamically with XML

Hi Everyone,
I am working with a project that was build by another
developer and I have been asked to modify it several ways. This is
an interactive map for a hotel brand where when you click on the
USA, you get a list of all the states, click a state and a list of
all the hotels in that state comes up, click a hotel, the hotel's
information is displayed. I understand the structure of the files,
how they make them work, though I couldn't build it myself.
The problem I am having is this. can't make the hotels'
photos load into the flash through the XML. I created a target
movie file that the image could load into but something is not
happening as far as loading the images. I don't know if the movie
clip that I created is the right way to go (it was made as an
object in the library that is exported via AS), or if I should
create one in the action script file that loads the XML data.
I looked at some tutorials about how to load images with XML
but those didn't get into the level of detail that I need for this
project.
I've attached some partial code to see if anyone can help me
work through this.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

I'm a noob at AS3 and trying to learn this XML stuff myself,
but i have been able to load pictures to the stage...this might
help you...my xml file photo section is similar to yours, only I
have it labeled as "href" instead of "source"...

So is this the way Apple works now? Not solving customers problems? I'm sure so many users have had this problem. I've had, and I reinstalled Mavericks 3 times. Works fine for some days and then several Apple Apps stop working. Is that a way to force us ti update to Yosemite? (I don't want to) and then pay to update some third party programs (i.e. Pro Tools). Also, there are so many 15" MacBooks Pro with graphic problems and of course the guys at the Apple Service Centers always say: "It's the logic board, you can have it replaced, but it's so expensive I would recommend a new Mac". I really, really miss Steve Jobs!
