Preloader bar problem

Hello.
I've made a movie, and the scene1 timeline has only one
frame. There I have 4 different movieclips into different layers,
each one with is own timeline.
Now, how do I insert a preloader bar in my movie?
When I tried with tutorials, it doesn't work, and even if the
movie loads like before I entered the preloader, it seems to become
looping in the first frames.
Thanks for your help!

1., move all the 1.st frame into the 2.nd frame
2., make sure frame1 is empty
3., place preloader bar movie clip in 1.st frame
4., to 1.st frame, write this code:
stop();
myPreloader.onEnterFrame = function():Void {
var loaded:Number = _root.getBytesLoaded();
var total:Number = _root.getBytesTotal();
var percentage = 100 * loaded / total;
trace(percentage);
if(percentage => 100) {
_root.nextFrame();
I bet it will work

  • Preloader loading problem

    Hi, everyone!
    I've made a preloader in Flash CS3 with AS2. It has the
    following code
    in theory it works, but if i test it, first it shows nothing,
    and after a while it become visible and shows the preloader bar
    loading from 90%.
    the 'preloader' in the code is a movieclip. it contains a 100
    frame shape tween.
    Does anyone know, why it isn't visible at the beginning? How
    can i fix it?

    You have to keep in mind what is actually going on when Flash
    is checking the progress of the download. There are a whole lot of
    processes going on. Flash has to spend most of its time and energy
    in the actual download, not in the reporting. The amount of the
    content that is reported at first and the size of each subsequent
    chunk will not start at 1% and proceed at orderly intervals. The
    result that you get when auditing the download process will depend
    on the contents of the file that is downloaded, how large the file
    is, the speed of the connection and the speed of the computer's
    processor.
    Remember, the purpose of showing a download progress is not
    to show how long it takes, but to provide a visual que to the user
    so that they will know that your site is not stalled. You really
    want to design so that you don't need a loading screen.

  • External preloader script problem

    hi, i'm try to create an external preloader, i've made three layers (the script, one for a funky design of my logo and keep things simple i've also embedded the preloader text in this layer and finally the preloader bar beneath. i've created two frames for each layer, the script has two keyframes, the other layers only have a keyframe first then a standard frame. i can't get it work though, please help. here's the script i'm using on the second keyframe.
    var loader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("Empty_movieclip",1);
    loader.loadClip("Creative-Outrage.swf",Empty_movieclip);
    var preload:Object = new Object();
    loader.addListener(preload);
    preload.onLoadProgress = function (target, loadedBytes, totalBytes){
    if (_root.getBytesTotal() != _root.getBytesLoaded()){
    gotoAndPlay(1);
    else (loadMovie("Creative-Outrage.swf",Empty_movieclip));
    removeMovieClip("Preloader_movieclip");
    Bar_movieclip._xscale=(_root.getBytesLoaded()/_root.getBytesTotal())*100;
    Preloader_movieclip.Loader_text.text=Math.round((_root.getBytesLoaded()/_root.getBytesTota l())*100)+"% Complete";

    try:
    var loader:MovieClipLoader = new MovieClipLoader();
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("Empty_movieclip",1);
    // move the next line to the end of your code
    loader.loadClip("Creative-Outrage.swf",Empty_movieclip);
    var preload:Object = new Object();
    loader.addListener(preload);
    // the next two lines should be in preload.onLoadProgress
    //Preloader_movieclip.Bar_movieclip._xscale=(loadedBytes/totalBytes)*100;
    //Preloader_movieclip.Loader_text=Math.round((loadedBytes/totalBytes)*100)+"% Complete";
    preload.onLoadProgress = function (target,loadedBytes,totalBytes){
    if (loadedBytes = totalBytes){
    // (loadMovie("Creative-Outrage.swf",Empty_movieclip));  <-- comment out or remove this line
    removeMovieClip("Preloader_movieclip");
    else {
    gotoAndPlay(1);
    it's still not displaying any gradual progress, it just displays the full progress bar immediately even when i simulate a download and it's not loading the external file either.

    I would like change "loading" to a preloader bar. How can i insert a preloader bar in this code? I add this lines:
    var total:Number=this.stage.loaderInfo.bytesTotal;
        var loaded:Number=this.stage.loaderInfo.bytesLoaded;
        var percent:Number=loaded/total;[/b]
        my_preloader = new TextField();
        my_preloader.text=(Math.round(percent * 100)) + "%";
        my_preloader.autoSize=TextFieldAutoSize.CENTER;
        my_preloader.x = (stage.stageWidth - my_preloader.width)/2;
        my_preloader.y = (stage.stageHeight - my_preloader.height)/2;
        addChild(my_preloader);
    But only show a static "100%".
    Thanks guys!

    you'll need to change your basic setup from loading all those images in a for-loop to loading them sequentially.  so, to start:
    var loadIndex:int;
    function preXML(e:Event):void {
        var my_xml:XML=new XML(e.target.data);
        my_speed=my_xml.@SPEED;
        my_images=my_xml.IMAGE;
        my_count=my_images.length();
    loadIndex=0;
        loadImages();
        my_xml_loader.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, preXML);
        my_xml_loader=null;
    function loadImages():void {
    var i:int=loadIndex;
            var my_url:String=my_images[i].@URL;
            var my_loader:Loader = new Loader();
            my_loader.load(new URLRequest(my_url));
            my_loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete);
    my_loader.contentLoaderInfo.addEventListener(ProgressEvent.PROGRESS, onProgress);
            my_loaders_array.push(my_loader);
    y_preloader = new TextField();
        my_preloader.x = (stage.stageWidth - my_preloader.width)/2;
        my_preloader.y = (stage.stageHeight - my_preloader.height)/2;
        addChild(my_preloader);
    function onProgress(e:ProgressEvent):void{
    var total:Number=e.bytesTotal;
        var loaded:Number=e.bytesLoaded;
        var percent:Number=loaded/total;[/b]
        my_preloader.text=100*loadIndex/my_count+(Math.round(percent * 100))/my_count + "%";
        my_preloader.autoSize=TextFieldAutoSize.CENTER;
    function onComplete(e:Event):void {
        loadIndex++;
        if (loadIndex==my_count) {
            startShow();
        var my_loaderInfo:LoaderInfo=LoaderInfo(e.target);
        my_loaderInfo.removeEventListener(Event.COMPLETE, onComplete);

  • Preload bar....

    I've got a preload bar that has a bar that goes across the
    screen giving the percentage loaded. The bar works, but for the
    first second it flashes up on the screen then disappears before it
    starts to move across the screen. I can't work out why it's doing
    this and would apprieciate some help please.
    I've attached the ActionScript below
    Thanks

    I changed
    bar_mc._xscale = preloaded;
    to
    bar_mc._xscale = 0;
    but then it didn't show at all, I probably misunderstood what
    you said, how do I set the initial_xscale to zero?

  • Preloader progress bar problems

    If you've got a second, go to
    http://www.madhouseent.net/
    My progress bar gets to the 50% mark and then loads the site.
    That's not the end of the world, but someone on a slow connection
    might give up because it looks like it's loading slower than it
    really is.
    The loading bar graphic is the correct size.
    Here's my code for the first frame and the second frame:

    Well, it looks like the full width of your loading bar is
    around 200 pixels. Not 100 which is what you're multiplying your
    percent by here.
    Try this instead.
    var fullLoaderBarWidth = (whatever the actual full width of
    your loader bar should be at 100%).
    (first frame)
    bytes_loaded = Math.round(this.getBytesLoaded());
    bytes_total = Math.round(this.getBytesTotal());
    getPercent = bytes_loaded/bytes_total;
    this.loadBar._width = getPercent*fulLoaderBarWidth;
    this.loadText = Math.round(getPercent*100)+"%";
    if (bytes_loaded == bytes_total) {
    this.gotoAndPlay(3);
    (second frame)
    this.gotoAndPlay(1);

  • Spry Menu Bar problem in IE

    I am using a spry menu bar, which looks perfect in firefox, but in IE (version 6.0) I cannot get the font right for when an item on the menu bar has been visited. The font should stay white, but goes to a light purple colour which is hard to read. The site is www.binscombe.net and the CSS code is below. Any help really appreciated.

    Mostly I see there is about 100 times as much code as I care to look at.
    So you don't know how to get a panel in a scroll pane, and then get that scroll pane into your GUI? Then try doing that by itself, not encumbered with 10000 lines of irrelevant code. Once you have it working, plug it into the big lump of code. Or if you can't get it working, ask about the small problem here.

  • How to add a preloader bar to a swf file made in InDesign?

    I have created a swf file in InDesign CS4 and now that I added the swf to my website, it takes a little bit to download, but the problem is that it doesn't show a downloading progress or anything.
    How can I changes this either in InDesign or using  preloader for the swf file so people don't leave my pages thinking there is nothing to see.
    I'm not familiar with preloaders or actionscript.
    Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Horizontal scroll bar problem in Portal????

    Hi Guys,
    I am facing some problem when i open any thread. Horizontal scrollong bar is coming at the end of the thread.
    eg: If i have some text in the thread which is more than width of the screen and has some 10 replies to that thread, Then i should be able to scrool at that position itself. But now i have to scroll down till end of all the replies and then i have to scroll the horizontal bar to right/left and scroll up to particular reply to see what is there.
    Is there any enhancement going on in portal or it is specific to my system? Please do let me know.
    Thanks,
    Vinod.

    I too am facing this problem with the horizontal scroll bar.
    There are many other bugs, but I am reluctant to spend my time reporting them as last time I reported a problem here, I got a rude response.

  • Scroll Bar Problem after Printing a web page containing multiple page data

    Hi All,
    I have a web application which has two DIV, one is main and one is child. I am having problem in printing multiple pages. There is a lot of data in the child DIV and i am using JavaScript functions to control the print functionality. When i print using window.print(), only the data on the main page currently being showed is printed. I further researched and checked out the Style.Overflow property.
    Now i am using divMain.style.overflow = "visible"
    After this the complete print comes. But in Firefox, the scroll bar disappears and only single page is left with no scroll bar .
    Now if after print i give divMain.style.overflow = "Auto" OR divMain.style.overflow = "Scroll", still the scroll bar doesn't come and if it comes then its inactive. I am unable to see the complete data on the page after the print is taken.
    The problem is not coming in I.E and the full data with scroll bar is recovered in I.E.
    Please help me how to get the normal page with full data and scroll bar after printing in Firefox.
    Thanks,
    Manuj

    hi, i would update my reader first to the newest version.
    does the size of the textfield never change, independant how much text is in it?
    perhaps check your subforms, if they are type "position" size does not change in my opinion, except your parent subforms expand to fit....
    or use "flowed" subforms...and regard the parent subforms too!

    Judging from your previous post, you seem to be having a problem with copying and pasting your code here. The following has been made by doing exactly that, copy from DW and paste here.

  • Double horizontal spry drop down menu bar problems

    Hello Everyone,
    I'm new to the spry tools and I need a little help. This is what I'm trying to accomplish in Dreamweaver CS4:
    I need 2 horizontal spry menu bars for navigation. I have created a div for each spry tool, 1 div placed above the other and they cross the entire width of the page. I have created the spry menu bars. Everything seems to be working correctly in both menu bars, That is until you open the IE browser, all other browsers tested fine. The problem is that when you hover over the bottom menu bar in IE, the drop down menu does not drop all the way down. The first submenu of the drop down menu covers the main menu bar. I have tried to change the css for the spry menu bar at the ul.MenuBarHorizontal li.MenuBarItemIE to show the display: as inline and also tried block and niether had any effect. Someone please help. Thanks.
