Premiere Elements 4 wont export !! help

Hi I have been using elements 4 for a while and I have never had a problem. I have just spent the last 4 weeks editing a 2 hours video. I finally have it ready to export however when I export the status bar comes up and hangs on indexing ??
I have a red cross in the bottom corner which says unknown error with two files in the media cache. I have replaced them and can watch the files with no problem however I still can't export.
Any ideas, I really dont want to start again

If you've got a two-hour video, you need to have enough free, defragmented space on your hard drive for the program to be able to render and output the file. Depending on what type of video file you're using to create your project, the program could require as much as 100 gig of free space.
How much free space is on your hard drive? When was the last time you cleared your temp files off and defragmented?
Also, what operating system are you using?

Premiere Elements 8 - Export a portion of one hour file

Imported from only VHS home movies into Premiere Elements 8 a one hour video. I would like to just flag a specific segments, such as minutes 4-8 and export that to a new avi file. After that I might want to export minutes 12-20, etc.
To date I have been cutting and deleting everyting except what I want to save, saving that file, then importing the original file back into premiere and cutting and deleting everything except for what I want on the next file.
Seems like way back when, I was able to save various segments of an open file, but not sure.
Any help would be appreciated. Tried to ask adobe when searching for answers about Premiere 8 crashing so much, no problems with 7, but they refered me to Adobe.TV, where I did not find any answers. Maybe in tutorial, but not able to find it.

In general, I think that you want to set the PE Timeline Work Area Bar over only the minutes that you want to export and then export specifying that only the current Work Area Bar is to be exported. Issues with video quality after editing in Premiere Elements. Please help!!!

I am having issues with the quality of video output from Premiere Elements. I tried to combine 4 videos clips that I took (all were crystal clear when viewed prior to combining them in Premiere Elements). The first clip is quite pixelated, the second has wavy lines running across it the whole time (recorded webinar), and the third clip looks crystal clear. (FYI...first clip and third clip were both taken using the exact same settings on my Canon) I am not very tech "savvy". I am guessing it has something to do with the way I saved or "shared" the video after editing? But I have NO IDEA what settings I need as I am not very "tech" savvy! I want to upload the finished product to Vimeo. I looked on Vimeo and followed instructions from a tutorial that a Premiere Elements user posted about how to save the best quality video for uploading to Vimeo, and the quality turned out FAR WORSE than the first time I saved it. Thanks for your response John! Do you think my issue may be due to the way I initially "set up" the project when I created a new project from the very beginning? I am operating on Premiere Elements 10, so I do not see an option for sharing online directly to vimeo....only facebook and Youtube. I am combining 4 video clips. 3 of the 4 clips were shot on my Canon EOS 60D, and 1 of the video clips was a recording of a PowerPoint based webinar that we did via Meeting Burner (meetingburner.com). Since I am combining more than 1 video format, is it likely that I will run into quality issues? The strange thing was that 2 of the clips shot with my Canon showed up blurry after exporting/sharing my final video, but one of them was still crystal clear. This doesn't make any sense to me since I did not change any settings on my Canon. I didn't see any specific tutorials on setting up the project to match the video from that list of Tutorial links.

Premiere Elements 4 - exporting video to .wmv

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 4.0 and cannot seem to export videos to .wmv formats. Windows Media file (.wmv) is listed as a supported video format for export in the help files, and I have found several threads that talk about exporting it on earlier versions of PE. However, when I go to file / export / Movie I do not see that option available. Nor do I see it from the Share tab. MPEG
Anyone know how to export video to .wmv files in PE4.0?

It is there in the Share tab... I had trouble finding it intially. You need to scroll down through the options... yes it does scroll down. :)

Problems with Premiere Elements 10, please help!

I am in the process of editing some videos for the charity I work for using Premiere Elements 10 but I am encountering some problems...
Firstly, Elements keeps crashing for no reason... It happened time after time when I was trying to edit a title, to get around it I had to delete the title and then insert a new one and it was fine. However, it has started again. I am just trying to select multple scenes and a title to group them and elements just crashes citing a runtime error. Anyone know how I can solve this problem? An update may be needed.
Normally when moving around clips on the timeline you get a strong verticle black line across the timeline to indicate when the clip in next to the beginning/end of another clip/title/item on the timeline so it is easy to line things up. This feature has disappeared from one of my projects which is very annoying as I keep accidently chopping bits of clips off. Why has it disappeared? How do I get it back?
These current issues are making it difficult for me to work and are very frustratig, any help would be gratefully received!

Ouch! To work with AVCHD footage both your processor and RAM are way underpowered. Most would say you need a Quad-Core or I7 processor and a minimum 4GB RAM (more if you are using W7 64-bit).
As it is your project is most likely having repeatedly swap memory to and from your hard disk - which is bad.
I'm guessing that this laptop is a few tears old and probably has only one disk drive with very little free space. To find out:
Press the Windows key
Type Info
From the list of programs that will be shown select System Information
Open Components> Storage> Drives
Your disk information will show in the right-hand pane.

Adobe Premiere Elements 9 AIDE-HELP (menus)

I have the IMac 2013 i5.
When I'm working on Adobe Premiere ELements 9, the program is opening a message which is telling me that there's an error. Then the program closes. It ALWAYS happens when I'm trying to put a menu in my video. It is related to this action. I don't know what to do... I tried to uninstall the program but nothing changed unfortunatelly... I don't know if the problem's related to Adobe or to the IMac...
I'm also not able to install the latest Adobe Flash Player (12) on my IMac.

Lorsque je travaille sur Adobe Premiere Elements 9, le logiciel m'envoie un message me disant que suite à une erreur grave, le programme doit se fermer. Ensuite, le logiciel se ferme et un rapport indéchiffrable portant sur le problème s'ouvre. Ceci arrive toujours dès que je veux ajouter un menu à mon montage. Lorsque j'ai sélectionné mon menu, je clique sur «Appliquer» et c'est exactement à ce moment que l'erreur apparait... Toujours à ce moment précis! J'ai tenté de désinstaller le logiciel pour le réinstaller par la suite... même probème malheureusement... Sur mon ancien portable, les menus pouvaient être appliqués sans problème mais il plantait toujours lors de la gravure. Mais depuis qu'il est sur mon nouvel ordi, les menus de vidéos ne foncionnent plus. Par contre, la gravure fonctione a merveille et le mac ne plante pas!
Je ne suis aussi pas capable d'installer Adobe Flash Reader afin de regarder des vidéos Youtube! J'ai encore là tenté plusieurs manoeuvres, mais rien n'a fonctionné...

About the 9.0.1 Update.
If you open a project to the workspace and go to Help Menu/Updates and click on Updates, do you see a 9.0.1 Update waiting for you to download and install it? You need to indicate in preference in that area if you want to be notified about updates in the menu bar. Otherwise, periodically you just check Help Menu/Updates to see what is there. You can also get the 9.0.1 Update online from Adobe and install it even with Premiere Elements 9 closed.

As I wrote previously....
But, for the menu situation, I would still like know the results from deleting the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs settings file with the following route

and in the 9.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete.
Can you find the above path and the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file in your Mac computer?
Do not delete anything unless it has the exact name Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs.
With Premiere Elements Windows, the user has to be set up with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that the path can be seen. I do not have Mac. So, I would ask "Does the Mac have a feature which you can enable so that you can see Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives?" If so, please enable it to determine if you can see the path to the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file.
About the Titler and Styles
I wanted you to go to Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1 Timeline workspace, click on Title Menu/New Title/Default Still to open the Titler. In the Titler, I wanted to know if you saw the thumbnails for the Text Styles or were they all gone

Which version of Premiere Elements started to support video export to MP4 using the H.264 codec for compression?

That's what I wanted to know thanks. It's a really strange way to support that since you are forced to make an indirect association between a particular viewing device and a resolution and codec.
Is there any version of Premiere Elements that will let me create a custom export profile that I can name with important attributes like resolution and codec name?

Can Premiere Elements 13 export videos at 60 FPS?

I am currently using Premiere Elements 10, and the highest quality video I am able to export for any file type is only 30 Frames Per Second. Does Premiere Elements 13 allow you to export videos at 60 Frames Per Second?
I am trying to export high quality gameplay footage captured at 60 FPS. I can import those videos into Premiere Elements 10, but since I can only export 30 FPS videos, the quality suffers.

Whether you use Premiere Elements 10 or 13, you should have the opportunity to export to file with a frame rate of 59.94/60 progressive frames per second. You do that my customizing the preset under the Advanced Button/Video Tab of the preset.
If you post properties of your Timeline content and the export format that you seek, I will give you more specific details. You should not have to go to 13 for what you seek.
Please review and consider, and supply more information.

Premiere elements HD export video freezes

Whenever I export a Video from Premiere Elements 13, the playback on the exported file is messed up. It will work fine for 9-13 seconds (literally the range) and then the screen freezes and the whole thing glitches out and is effectively useless. I should not that 720p usually works but when I try to export it in 1080p it fails. The videos are filmed in 1080p. This happens using both of my Drift model mobile cameras AND my Canon regular camera.
I am running Windows 8, and the playback is using VLC media player. I just purchased Elements a few months ago.

Also, have tried exporting in all of the 1080 HD options with all of the framerate options, but my cameras film at 30 FPS

Premiere Elements 10 - Export to AVCHD files?

Since the demo isn't available yet; does anyone know if I can export AVCHD directly to .mts or .m2ts files? I might be interested in picking this up for $99 but I cannot demo it yet. Also, what bitrate can I export to?
For example, my .mts files are 1920x1080 24p @ 24 megabit. Would love to export in the same quality.
Lastly, does anyone know if Elements 10 does anything with the subtitles (my camera keeps the time/date stored within the .mts file as a subtitle).

Yes, the program can create M2T files at 25 mbps, so you should see no loss of quality whatsoever if you've properly set up your project to match your AVCHD specs.
However, Premiere Elements does not read metadata like time/date, etc.
Are you sure the demo isn't available? It should be.

You need to give this another look. You can create a PAL AVCHD LITE 720p50 5.1 Channel for the new project dialog choices in Premiere Elements 12 using the principles that I used in my blog for doing this for 1080p. I just did it.
This should be a quick and easy procedure. Let us see what happened in your case.
In your case, the first instruction would be to copy the file name AVCHD LITE 720p50.sqpreset file found in Premiere Elements 12 Windows 7 or 8 64 bit path of:
Local Disc C
Program Files
Adobe
Adobe Premiere Elements 12
Settings
SequencePresets
PAL
AVCHD
and in the AVCHD Folder is the AVCHD LITE 720p50.sqpreset file that you copy (paste to desktop for now).

And, you can get a AVCHD.mp4 (720p50) 5.1 channel file from Publish+Share/Computer/AVCHD with the preset of MP4 HD720p50 with adjusts under the Advanced Button/Audio Tab. I just did.
I will write up the above for inclusion in my blog for 720p and obtaining a 720p 5.1 channel version of the preset.

Premiere Elements 7 Audio Help

I'm working on a video project in Premiere Elements 7. After starting to get the hang of it (this is my first time using the program), things were going fine. I was in the process of manually setting up the menu markers, when I came across a stretch of video that had no audio. This part was approximately an hour in and the entire video up until that point was perfectly fine. The soundless part lasts about 15 minutes and then the remaining 45 minutes have audio but it is badly out of sync with the video. I've tried restarting the project and re-uploading the video to the program again, but it didn't help. I know it isn't a problem with the video because I've worked with it before and just tested it in iTunes and Quicktime and it works perfectly fine with those programs.
Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be and how to fix it? Would the audio problems transport over to the DVD if I were to burn one with the video as is? Thanks.

Are you Importing MP3's from your iTunes, or something else? MP3's are notoriously bad for Video editing, as they cause lots of problems. I always convert all MP3's to PCM/WAV 48KHz 16-bit, and have zero issues. I use Adobe Audition, but the great, free audio-editing program, Audacity, will do this too, as will many other programs.
If you problem Audio is coming from the muxed MOV files, what are the specs. of the Audio?

PS - as Steve mentions, when Importing any file with Audio, Conforming and PEK (Waveform Display) files will need to complete. There is a little blue progress bar at the lower-right of the GUI. Wait until it is done, before doing ANY editing.

Need codec for footage from Sony EX1 for edit in Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0; Help

I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 to try and edit Sony EX1 film footage transfered to my external hardrive. When I try and import the film footage, I receive and error message reading "codec missing or unavailable".

[Premiere Elements 10] Export to computer as h.264?

So I've been using the trial version of CS5 for a while now. After re-installing my OS every month to get this, I decided to invest some money in the cheaper Elements range. However I used to export as h.264 to my computer. h.264 is the best for the quality:compression ratio. Unfortunately I am having trouble finding this option in Elements 10. Is it even there? When I click share to computer I can see the MPEG options but the compressions offered in this are pretty... well bad, when you compare it to h.264. I dont want to export as wmv or avi... although avi makes little sense to me too as an the avi format is a container format... So what exactly is it compressing to? XD
Anyways main point is, can you compress to h.264 and export the file to your computer like you can in CS5. Or is it limited to burning on blu ray? I think if the algorithm is there, then it should be able to be used in whatever way the user pleases.
On an unrelated note, Elements 10 looks nicer than CS5 but it handles a lot slower. Is this normal? It seems like the program cant keep up with what im doing sometimes, when in CS5 it was all smooooth.

You can also get to H.264 settings via Share> Computer> AVCHD. This uses the MainConcept codec - you can adjust settings if you go into Advanced...

Adobe Premiere Elements 9 Exporting in 1080i/p

I am trying to make an introduction for my friend, and I am only using the text tool in Adobe Premiere, this should be high definition as it is. Although whenever I got to export something in 1080i or 1080p, what comes out on my desktop is the video file, an audio file, and usually another file with a .xml extension. How can I get a 1080i video in one file with audio AND video?
Seems like it should be that way anyways.

I get this error shown. I went to the website and installed the newest version of Adobe Media Encoder for Windows 7 64-bit and still got this error.
It does work with DVD Widescreen, but that has 480p which isn't very good.
