PremierePro file save as AVI DV PAL compression

Hello!
I' am working in Premiere Pro CS4 and would like to make AVI DV PAL compression from my Premiere Pro file (DV PAL, size 32010 KB, video lenght is 2 min, video made from PSD (Photoshop CS4 EXTENDED) photographies puttet in Premiere Pro file in meny sequences, video have sound), but when i click FILE>EXPORT>AVI, DV PAL or else>OK then appears window what looks same as SAVING WINDOW where shoes howe much time left, just in place of SAVING is written EXPORTING, but when that little window ends, then nothing happens - in computer nouwhere i can find any file what was needed to be maked in that exporting process. I would like to know, ehat to do to have my Premiere Pro file as AVI DV PAL compression. I think there needed to be automatically opening ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER.

P.S.
When i opened ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER from folder in computer, but not from Premiere Ro CS4, than is error message:

  • Datasheet says Camileo P10 saves as .mov but the device saves as .avi

    I just rec'd a P10 as a gift for Christmas.
Looking at the specs on the online Datasheet and elsewhere the sources say that that the P10 saves video files as .mov but the device I have can only save them as as .avi files. However the box itself does say that it saves pictures as jpg and video as avi (H.264)
And I had to search the Internet for a long time to find a safe CoreAAC Audio (FF) codec file to allow Windows Media Player to play the avi file with sound.
    What happened? Why this change?
NB I did find one specification sheet online that said that the camera had both .mov and .avi formats. If this is true how do we access a menu that can allow us to switch between file formats?

    Hi,
i've had the same problem recently.
I have sent back my camileo p30, to Toshiba technical center, and Toshiba shipped me back a new Camileo P30 (the old one was having troubles with the sound).
My new camileo is recording in .avi with H264 compression, and the old one was recording in .mov with H264 compression.
This .avi H264 format is not compatible with my video software (pinnacle studio 12), the .mov H264 was perfectly compatible.
So it seems to be the fault of the newest firmware that encodes the video with this format.
*_If Toshiba staff could make a firmware with the old format .mov h264 , for the camileo p30, it would be great !!!!!_*
PS : I have tried with the pinnacle studio hd 14, and the problem of compatibility is still the same....

  • Save as .avi

Hi, how can i save the video as .avi? My Adobe offers me only the option .prel. Thanks, Eliska

    eliskadol
We can give you specific information if you let us know the version of Premiere Elements that you are using and the computer operating system
    on which it is running.
As an example...Premiere Elements 13 on Windows 7, 8, or 8.1 64 bit in a program set up for NTSC....
The .prel file extension is being used as the project file from which you export a file with the .avi file extension.
Remember .avi is just a file extension which can wrap a variety of different video and audio compressions. But, here
is the general path for this example for an export of DV.AVI Standard 4:3.
In the opened project after your import/edit, go to Publish+Share/Computer/AVI and set Presets = to what you need.
In this case, select DV NTSC Standard. There are other choices in a drop down list for Presets. And, if you click on
the Advanced Button in that area, you can customize the Advanced Button/Video Tab and Audio Tab settings.
But be on guard...the AVI choice is at the bottom of the list. You will not see that choice until you scroll down the list
using the thin scroll bar to the right of the choices.
Please review and consider. Any questions or need clarification, please let us know. The answers will be in the details.
    Looking forward to your reply.
    Thank you.

  • Save to AVI

    Hi everyone.
I am building a simple VI that grabs images and saves them to an AVI file.  I am using IMAQdx and the Vision Development toolkit on Win7Pro 64bit.
The challenge is that the standard "Save to AVI" functions in the 64bit Vision Toolkit appear to be malfunctioning accord to this thread.  It only lets you choose from 1 of 2 codecs.  I have installed tons of codecs, but I can't seem to use them.  Tested it on two different machines.  The only two codecs that are appearing when calling "IMAQ AVI Get Filter Names.vi" are DV Video Encoder and MJPEG Compressor codecs, which is kind of strange.
So my challenge:  Is there some kind of workaround?  Any ideas how I can save an AVI in a different manner?  Or how I can get more codec choices?
    Thanks!

Assuming the problem is a lack of 64 bit codecs (most codecs are 32bit, which makes them unavailable to 64bit programs). Then if you're desperate you could try the SVN version of ffdshow tryouts of which there is a 64bit version.
    ffdshow download page
I use an older 32bit version, and takes a bit of work to setup. Which codec you use is set through the ffdshow VFW control panel, LabVIEW just uses the "ffdshow Video Codec" filter. I use the loss-less HuffYUV codec then compress that file later with mencoder. Of course using a bleeding edge SVN copy could be buggy. I'm not sure if it's needed but on my setup I have LabVIEW.exe and the name of my compiled executable in ffdshow's white list (under video decoder configuration/Direct Show Control/Use ffdshow only in).
Another option is to have the video compression handled by a separate 32 bit LabVIEW program. You would need to pass the frame information between the two programs. I would probably use IMAQ Flatten to string and TCP/IP to do most of the work, all this copying data around will probably slow things down quite a bit though.

  • Is it possible to create and save a .PDF without any compression to the resulting .PDF?

I need an uncompressed file so I can use the resulting PDF to do a find/replace. Can't do it with compression.

    Dave,
Thanks for the reply. Of all the suggestions I've received this seemed to
be most promising. I gave it a try and the problem is that when I attempt
to save as optimized a message box pops up and says I have to save my
document first. Low and behold when I save it, compression occurs. Even
when I select the options you suggest I'm left with a compressed document.

without any compression to the resulting .PDF?
You don't want the UncompressPDF plugin - that's designed to split out the
COS objects but doesn't remove the Flate encoding (plus if you've never
compiled a plugin before, it's not really the time to learn).
Instead, simply save your PDF file using the PDF (Optimized) file type,
click the Settings button and under "Clean Up" - "Object compression
options", choose "Remove compression". Turn everything else off if you
want to retain the PDF content exactly as it was before.
Your document-level scripts will then be in the file as plain text.

  • How to save an AVI w/ as many FPS as possible w/o color decection interfering?

    Hi,
I can't seem to solve this somewhat basic programming logic problem: using a CCD I want to detect a color change in real time (at any FPS rate >10 FPS) and save the video with as many frames per second as the camera can give (71 FPS or as close to it as possible).
The camera is up to 71 FPS but my color detection takes too long to run one iteration of the while loop so I only get effectively 10-11 FPS in my AVI file. 10 FPS is acceptable for the detection response but ideally I would also save an AVI of the process at 71 FPS for historical record that can be further analyzed. I realize what I need is a way to quickly run the 'save to avi' on every available frame (71 FPS) and then in parallel sample 1 in every 7-8 frames for image detection processing (to get the 10 FPS the coding/CPU+RAM limits it to).  I can't seem to write a program that can do the two in parallel without the color detection bogging down my save to AVI or without getting some sort of camera session invalid error.
Someone more clever and experienced please share some logic with me. My attempts with different while loops or conditional case structures just arent improving the FPS. I have attached the most basic version of my program; it achieves what I want but the FPS in this case are going to be equal in both the dection and avi.
Thank you in advance for your time and patience, I am just a student in over my head as usual....

Final Live Detection with save_one loop.vi ‏101 KB

I formatted the code to fit the producer consumer loops but I am not seeing any improvement in the frame rate / frames per second. The way I set it is that every 4th loop iteration of the 'save to avi', one frame gets passed to the detection. Unfortunately I am still only getting about 12-13 FPS and it doesn't get faster as I decrease the amount of frames passed to detection.
Because I didn't see any improvement I ran the 'save to avi file' sequence in its own VI. I found with out any color detection the resulting AVI is still only 12-13  FPS. This means the very simple program (attached) is running much too slow yet I don't see any other way of aquire images and making it into a movie; I am only using the basic IMAQ dx subVIs. Can anyone offer a solution or improvement? Is this data handling or memory related? I am on a fairly new PC...
    Thanks in advance

  • Converting avi file to dv-avi

    Hello
I am a recent convert from Pinnacle Sudio to Premiere Elements 7. I have avi files made in Pinnacle that I would like to bring into Premiere. From what I am reading, I need to first convert them to dv-avi files. Can anyone tell me how to do this? I made the files on a Windows XP computer using Pinnacle), my Premiere is on Vista Home Premium--if this helps :)
    Thanks much, Cheryl B.

    Kodebuster,
I've had many DV-AVI Type I's that did not exhibit a problem. However, enough have (and not just for me), that I now do it out of habit - it's become part of my workflow. Also, PE seems to do a much better job, than PrPro. That is the main reason, that I have PE, because it is more lenient, than its "big brother." Most of the issues that I have encountered have been with PrPro's handling of these. I do not know what is different "under the hood," but PE merrily Imports stuff that chokes PrPro.
I've seen no problems, artifacts, degredation in quality, etc., with DMC, to date. I do try and keep conversions to a minimum, and have established workflows to maximize the final quality. Some sources require more work, than others, but if one has collected the "tools" and plans for the source files, one can do a lot with sub-optimal Assets.
In most workflows, it's about the "tools," the Assets, and how one likes to work. Many use other conversion programs, with no problems and great results. They have standardized on their particular workflow, as I have mine.
As for the DV-AVI, there IS compression, albeit much, much less than MPEG-2, but the quality, judged on good playback equipment, is beyond my ability to detect it. It can be measured, but if I can't see it in the final, that is good enough for me.
There are also other NLE's, that use "smart rendering" for existing MPEG-2 Assets. I have not explored any, so cannot comment on how well, or poorly, they perform. There are many recs. for these around the fora, so one might prove to be better, than PE for that task.
As most of my Assets are Captured in PrPro from tape, it works beautifully for me. Still, clients will come up with the darnedest CODEC's and expect miracles. With the popularity of HDD cameras, I would almost expect to see PE incorporate a "smart rendering" workflow via a preset. Because of its great interface (which I am still learning, coming from PrPro), I think that would separate it from many of the competition. It'll all be based on market share.

  • Jpeg File Save & Loss Rate in PSE

When working on jpeg files in the PSE Editor, does PSE perform an automatic internal file "Save" after each adjustment, (i.e., levels, color, etc.)?  I have always assumed that the file does not get saved until the user performs a manual save after all editing has been completed.
If automatic internal "saves" are performed after each adjustment on a jpeg file. then image degradation could be accelerated beyond what one would expect, i.e., each Save of a jpeg file reduces image quality.  If these automatic Saves are being performed, then I guess the only way to edit files is in a psd format, then save the final psd file to a jpeg format to conserve disk space.

    Yes.

No, the 'in memory' format is not saved to the drive unless you manually choose to 'save as'.
If you periodically save a jpeg version (overwriting the older ones), without closing the file,  jpeg compression changes are not cumulative. The 'in memory' version is kept unchanged. It's not like you save to jpeg, close and re-open, in which case the jpeg double compression would have taken place.
If you want periodic saves in a long editing session of a picture, it's best to save as psd, because that saves layers, selections... It's also better if you work in 16 bits. If you save in jpeg, the jpeg compression will be done only once, there will be no cumulative loss of quality.

  • No sound after exporting to AVI DV-pal

I have to convert some QuickTime files with sound to AVI DV-pal, but the sound disappears after the conversion. However, the sound is there, for in the original it can be heard in QuickTime player and I can also export the QuickTime file to a wave file with the sound preserved. Why does the sound disappear in this particular incident with DV-pal?

If your AVI plays correctly in QuickTime they should export to any supported codec.
Do you need the AVI container? Have you tried exporting to DV Stream?

  • File save as type showing as GIF in Photoshop  CS6

I have a problem/bug. When  I save for the web, select my file type ( png, wbmp, jpeg) it displays the file type as a Gif in the lower left eventhough the file saves in the correct format.  This is the version from the cloud download. Every file type displays this way?
    How can this be fixed?

The original file must be Gif or you have some slices.
On the top of the Save for web dialog press the Two Up button and the orginal will be on the left and the version to save will be on the right.
Could you post a bigger screenshot as it's to tell from the small size you posted?

  • TWO CRITICAL BUGS: 1) File, "Save Page As" and 2) right-click the picture and select "Save Image As", both do not work at all in Firefox 27, 28, and 29!

Note: capitals are used only to highlight important words.
PLEASE, TAKE THESE COMMENTS ON TWO CRITICAL BUGS VERY SERIOUSLY BECAUSE THE BUGS DESCRIBED BELOW ARE SO CRITICAL THAT I CANNOT USE THE LATEST VERSION OF FIREFOX UNLESS THEY DO NOT APPEAR IN THE LATEST VERSION AND THEREFORE I AM FORCED TO REVERT BACK TO FIREFOX 26.
I have Windows 7 64-bit and Firefox 26. I could not install Firefox 27, 28, and 29 due to the persistent presence of the two critical bugs described below. I have 8 GB of RAM and an Intel quad-core processor and a lot of hard disk space available.
I installed Firefox 27 and then Firefox 28 a while back and these two bugs described below were still present and now I have just checked again with Firefox 29 by installing it and yet again, these two bugs described below are present!! UNBELIEVABLE THAT THESE TWO CRITICAL BUGS ARE STILL PRESENT IN FIREFOX 29 WHEN I CLEARLY INFORMED YOU ABOUT THEM IN THE HELP, SUBMIT LINK OF FIREFOX!!
I am forced to revert to Firefox 26!
First, I use Windows 7 64-bit and I always use Firefox with at least 120 tabs opened. BUT I have 8 GB of RAM, an Intel core i7 quad-core processor and more than 1 TB of hard disk space. Consequently, I do not understand why I would have these two critical bugs.
With Firefox 26, I also have at least 120 tabs opened when I start Firefox and I do not have the two critical bugs described below, therefore I do not believe that the number of tabs is the reason of the two critical bugs that are present in Firefox 27, 28, and 29.
    ---FIRST CRITICAL BUG:
When I open ANY web page and do File, "Save Page As", the window that is supposed to open to locate the folder where I want to save this web page does NOT open at all, even if I wait a long time to see if it opens.
Same problem happened with Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!! When I reverted back to Firefox 26, this problem did NOT happen anymore!
    ---SECOND CRITICAL BUG:
When I use Google Images, for instance entering model in the search field of Google Images and then pressing enter.
Then I select any picture, open to a new tab this selected picture, then open a new tab by selecting the option View for this picture. Then right-click the picture and select "Save Image As".
Again, the window that is supposed to open to locate the folder where I want to save this picture does NOT open at all, even if I wait a long time to see if it opens.
Same problem happened with Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!! When I reverted back to Firefox 26, this problem did NOT happen anymore!
---THESE TWO CRITICAL BUGS DO NOT APPEAR WHEN I USE INTERNET EXPLORER 11.
I have no idea if you will be able to reproduce these two critical BUGS but I can assure you that they are not present when I use Firefox 26 and they are present when I use Firefox 27, 28, and 29. More, be aware that I have at least 100 tabs opened but I also have this same number of tabs opened in Firefox 26 and yet I do not experience these two critical bugs when I have Firefox 26!
Once again, these two bugs touch at two vital, critical very basic functions of Firefox and therefore I will NOT be able to use any version above 26 if these two bugs are still present, as they are present in Firefox 27, 28, and now 29!!!
Please, make it a priority to solve these two critical bugs. Thanks.
I did read a post related to the same issues “Firefox stops responding when trying to "save page" or "save image" | Firefox Support Forum | Mozilla Support” at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/991630?esab=a&as=aaq
I am still reading it again to try to figure out exactly what the person did to make his problems be solved, as the post is not clear at all on what solved the problems!
In any case, all the suggestions proposed in this post do not work and I surely cannot do a system restore when it is obvious that the two bugs do not appear in Internet Explorer.

First, I sent an email to the author of PhotoME to inform him of the serious issues his addon caused with Firefox latest versions.
Now, for those of you who do not have the PhotoME addon and yet experience the same problem that I had and that I described above, I suggest the following strategy.
As PhotoME did cause these problems with Firefox latest versions, I am pretty covinved other addons probably might cause these problems too. Therefore, adopt the following method.
Test one addon at a time to see if this particular addon is behind your Firefox issues like the ones I had.
So, disable one addon only at a time. Then close your Firefox and restart it from scratch and see if you still have your Firefox problems. You must restart the Firefox browser from scratch. If you still have these Firefox problems, re-enable the disabled addon, restart your Firefox (again!) and repeat the same method for every single addon that you have.
Try to be selective by choosing first addons that are more likely to cause your Firefox problems such as not very well-known or not very popular addons (like it was the case for the PhotoME addon).
If this method works or if it does not work, report it on this web page so that others can be helped with your comments.
I hope this method will help you because I was really upset that I had these Firefox problems and I first thought it was the fault of Firefox, only to discover later that this PhotoME addon was the culprit and had caused me such upset.

After completing my upgrade to Adobe Reader 11.0.10. when I attempt to save an online PDF to my local drive I receive a blank window where I would expect to see file directory structure to save to.
No local directories are displayed for "Saving To", it is all blank.   When I try to Close (by clicking X)  the "File Save As" box a message pops up on top that says "Adobe Reader is not Responding"  It locks up all of my IE windows, not just the one with the PDF doc.
