Prepaid u350 smooth convert to contract question

My husband has had a Samsung u350 phone for hte past 16 months until I ran it through the wash last Saturday.  He has been without a phone for more than a week.  I purchased the exact phone except it is a prepaid phone (still in the packaging).  Can it be converted from a prepaid phone to finish out the remainder of our 24 month contract?

Tonisgirl, that is a great question. I understand you need to make sure your husband has a working phone. SuzyQ is correct, a prepaid phone needs to be active on a prepay account for 6 months before it can be activated on a postpay account. If you have another VZW phone you want to activate, you can dial *228 send to activate that one. You can also check your upgrade on each line by dialing #UPG send to see if you may have any eligible lines.

  • End of contract questions (Data plan and upgrade eligibility)

    Hi All,
    I found another thread also titled "End of contract questions" and it was very helpful but I want to make sure I'm not mistaken in any way.  Here's my scenario:
    2 Line Plan
    ME (primary): 2-year contract, unlimited Data (10/15/10 - 10/15/12)
    WIFE: 1-year contract, unlimited data (10/15/10 - 10/15/11)
    I signed her up for a 1-year contract on the advice of the Verizon rep that was helping us.  It ended up netting an additional cost of $70-100 (I forget exactly) but it was worth it in my opinion because I knew that one of us would be able to get a new phone in 1 year as opposed to 2.
    So here are the specific questions:
    1.  Verizon has done away with 1-year contracts.  This means that whenever my wife goes in to renew her contract (and get a new device), she will need to sign a 2 year contract, correct?  All further questions will be posed based on a "yes" answer to this one.
    2.  Assuming she has to sign a 2-year contract, will she still be able to retain her unlimited data plan?
    3.  Assuming she signs up for a 2-year contract, will she still be able to get "loyalty" pricing or whatever they're calling it now (used to be "new every 2")?  Is she even eligible for anything since she's not the primary on the line?
    4.  In the other thread titled "End of contract questions..." it was mentioned that "The loyalty discount expires 6 months after it becomes available -- so 2 months after your contract ends".  Is this correct?
    5.  Currently, if I go to MyVerizon and hover over the "?" next to my number and "Eligible for a discount" it says:  "You are eligible to upgrade with discounted pricing. If you upgrade on or after 6/15/12 you are eligible to receive an additional loyalty discount. "  I intend to wait for my line as it still has a year on the contract however when I do the same for my wife's line it says:  You are eligible to upgrade with discounted pricing."  Does it not mention the Loyalty discount because it's not applicable to a secondary line?  Or perhaps because it's implied since she's technically out of her contract period?
    I'm trying to make heads or tails of this.  At the time, it sounded like a great idea (her on a 1-year, me/primary on a 2-year).  I'm hoping it will work out for us so that every year, one of us will be eligible for a new line.  I'm only concerned with the unlimited data aspect being that she's going to be going from a 1-year to a 2-year and also the actual loyalty/discount aspect.
    Thanks in advance for anyone who helps!!

Not eligible because she is 1)not the primary line and 2)1yr contracts weren't eligible in the first place.

  • Can I convert my contract to PAYG when it ends without having to call EE?

    I have a contract that expires on the 18th of October. I'm currently in Australia and will be for a year so will not be using my English number and as a result do not want to continue with my contract after it expires. I would however like to keep my number so I'd like to convert my contract to PAYG or put it on hiatus until I retun if that is possible. I know I can do this by calling EE but as I am in Australia calls home are £1.20 per minute, which I really don't want to pay especially if I might be put on hold for an indefinite amount of time. I know I should have got this sorted before I left but I assumed I'd be able to do it online. Is there any way that I can do this without having to call EE?

    Unfortunately cancelling a contract including, transferring the contract and number to Pay As You Go I believe can only be performed by contacting the upgrades and retentions department over the phone.
    I am not sure if they can put a number on hiatus
    I think a new PAYG Sim Card will need to be posted out to you which will need to go to your UK address

  • Membership Contract Question

    Hi, I am a student interested in getting a Creative Cloud membership so I can access all the programs, but had a question regarding the 1 year full prepaid contract. After the year, do I still have to continue my contract? Or can I simply do one year contract and cancel after that year if necessary? Also does this apply to the month by month contract?

    Hi there
    The prepaid and paid monthly annual plans automatically renew after 12 months and you'll receive an email approximately 30 days before the renewal date with details.  If you don't wish to renew you can contact us just prior to the renewal date to cancel.
    Kind regards

  • Transferring a number to a different account and contract question

    Hello,
    So today I got offered a phone from where I work. I'm in a family plan with 4 phones, i only need one of the lines transferred  to my boss's account, but will doing this break the contract that I'm in right now? because I don't want to pay $175 to cancel it.. please help me!! thanks!!!

        Thanks to the community for your replies.
    That's a good question, cooper06. As Ann154 mentioned, this process is called an Assumption of Liability. If your transferring your line to another party you wouldn't be terminating your agreement. I recommend you visit http://goo.gl/jinrY for more information.

  • End of contract questions (Unlimited data+4G)

    I currently have 2 lines in my account. The main line is mine and the contract is up on 11/.07, while the secondary line is 12/04. I have been waiting for the new gen 4G and Galaxy Nexus to be announced before making a decision on what to upgrade my phone to.
    Here are the questions I have:
    I have the unlimited data plan now. If I extend my contract with a 3G or a 4G phone that is currently on sale today then switch to Galaxy Nexus later in November, will I keep the unlimited data plan still?
    If I do not renew the contract, do I loose the loyalty discount + the unlimited data plan?
    Does switching from a 3G device to 4G device effect the data plan status at all (unlimted to 5g capped?)
    Thanks for the replies.

    I have the unlimited data plan now. If I extend my contract with a 3G or a 4G phone that is currently on sale today then switch to Galaxy Nexus later in November, will I keep the unlimited data plan still?  As of right now, Verizon's policy is to allow you to keep the unlimited data feature as long as you keep a 3G or 4G smartphone active on your line.  It is possible that might change by November, but highly unlikely.  In any case, you would know if you could not keep the plan because Verizon would announce that they are ending the grandfathering and/or releasing phones that aren't compatible with the feature.  In general, I would expect to be able to keep your unlimited data pretty easily until Verizon finishes implementing the majority of its 4G network in 2013, but that's just my guess.
    If I do not renew the contract, do I loose the loyalty discount + the unlimited data plan? You won't lose your unlimited data.  Your plan will stay the same until you do something to change it, but you'll be on month-to-month status.  The loyalty discount expires 6 months after it becomes available (so two months after your contract ends).
    Does switching from a 3G device to 4G device effect the data plan status at all (unlimted to 5g capped?)  As far as I'm aware, unlimited is still unlimited.  The only change is that Verizon reserves the right to throttle the top 5% of users in congested markets during peak hours.  It doesn't neccesarily kick in at 5GB, and it won't affect you at all if you don't use a congested tower.
    Thanks for the replies.

  • XMLTYPE variable converting to XML (Question)

    Friends,
    I am stuck on an error and cannot find a way out. Please help. I know it's a long question but a very simple answer to many smart people here. I am just lost and need your help. (I am new to SOA so bear with me)
    I have a BPEL process which invokes a PL/SQL API which returns the XMLTYPE output which has the XML data. In order to convert the XMLTYPE to normal XML I do following :-
    - I added a Java embed activity in BPEL with following code (Invoke_new_get_customer_order_info_OutputVariable','OutputParameters','/ns2:OutputParameters/ns2:X_CUSTOMER_ORDER_INFO_XML is the XMLTYPE)
    (responsePayoad is string variable)
    try{
    Node node = (Node)getVariableData("Invoke_new_get_customer_order_info_OutputVariable','OutputParameters','/ns2:OutputParameters/ns2:X_CUSTOMER_ORDER_INFO_XML");
    Node childNode = (Node) node.getFirstChild();
    StringWriter writer = new StringWriter();
    Transformer transformer = TransformerFactory.newInstance().newTransformer();
    transformer.transform(new DOMSource(childNode), new StreamResult(writer));
    String xml = writer.toString();
    String nsXML = xml.replaceFirst("<FetchCustomerInfoResponse","<FetchCustomerInfoResponse xmlns=\"http://xmlns.djoglobal.com/OrderTracking/CustomerInfo\" ");
    setVariableData("responsePayload",nsXML);
    addAuditTrailEntry("XML with Namespace: " + nsXML);
    } catch(Exception e){
    addAuditTrailEntry(e);
    System.out.println("Namespace injection failed due to : " + e);
    After above I have ASSIGN activity where I use parsexml function on the "responsePayload" variable to assign to a variable of type element which refers to following xsd. This is where I get an "internal xpath error" during runtime which I cannot resolve.
    XSD of the element variable refering to "FetchCustomerInfoResponse" element

    Few modifications,
    1. Initialize your int count to 0, int count=0;
    2. Write count++; as the first statement in your for loop. 3. Remove count++; at the bottom.
    4. Add a hidden field to your form (after submit button, but before your </form> tag)
    <input type="hidden" name="qCount" value="<%=count%>">
    Now use this code,
    writeXML.jsp
    <%
    int qCount = Integer.parseInt(request.getParameter("qCount"));
    String home ="C:\\Tomcat\\FYProject\\lib\\";
    String filename = request.getParameter("file");
    String extension = ".xml";
    String filePath = home + filename + extension;
    BufferedWriter bw = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(filePath,true));
    bw.write("<mc_QuestionType>");
    bw.newLine();
    for(int count=0;count<qCount;count++) {
         String Tquestion = request.getParameter("questionText"+count);
         String answer1 = request.getParameter("choice_1"+count);
         String answer2 = request.getParameter("choice_2"+count);
         String answer3 = request.getParameter("choice_3"+count);
         String answer4 = request.getParameter("choice_4"+count);
         String Canswer = request.getParameter("cAnswer"+count);
         bw.write(" <questionText>" Tquestion "</questionText>");
         bw.newLine();
         bw.write(" <choice>" answer1 "</choice>");
         bw.newLine();
         bw.write(" <choice>" answer2 "</choice>");
         bw.newLine();
         bw.write(" <choice>" answer3 "</choice>");
         bw.newLine();
         bw.write(" <choice>" answer4 "</choice><br>");
         bw.newLine();
         bw.newLine();
         bw.write(" <answer>" Canswer "</answer>");
         bw.newLine();
         bw.write("</mc_QuestionType>");
         bw.close();
    %>Hope this works.

  • Frequency Smoothing Across Audio Spectrum Question . . .

    I plan to post this querry on the Logic and Soundtrack Pro forums as well, seeing as they will probably add some good suggestions. For now, however, I will start here, as it is FCP that I have been working with the most.
    I am editing the voice over portion of a feature length project of mine. The nature of the manner in which I recorded the voice over sessions was such that I have multiple takes (sometimes 50 plus) of, for example, each word in a phrase. Well, after choosing the final VO edit, all is generally good and well. Howver, due to the fact that any final VO edit is comprised of a hodge podge mix of, say, 100 different total takes, there are certain dynamic frequency idiocincracies that are apparent; at least to me - which is enough for me to do something about it.
    My question is this: Is there an FCP plug in or anything of the like (in Soundtrack Pro or Logic that anyone knows about) that can give a "representation" (for lack of a better word) of dynamic frequencies (shows you the highs, the lows, the mids, etc, etc), and - MORE IMPORTANTLY - can "smooth out" the different frequency anamolies and give me a homogeneous frequency dynamic across my scene(s)? The second portion of this question is the real important one to me, by the way. I want to know if there's a way to, again, smooth out differing frequencies so that the VOed scene sounds much more natural.
    I'm not even sure if I even ASKED this question correctly/understandably or not . . . so please let me know if anyone requires more elucidation upon this inquiry.
    Thank you very much everyone, in advance, for all your help.
    Javier Calderon
    Macintosh Dual 2 Gig G5 Mac OS X (10.4)

    Don't waste anymore time trying to do this in FCP.
    It just doesn't have the best tools available to do this job. You can't hear the results of your audio filters in real-time, etiher - you need to render first.
    Soundtrack Pro, ProTools, Peak, Deck, Logic... use anything that has proper audio tools and plug-ins available to you, as well as being able to audition in real-time.
    "Smoothing" tips? Here's two.
    1) Use some kind of audio compressor plug-in using a "voiceover" or "vocal" preset to tame and regularize flucuations in the dynamics of the edited track. Perhaps a multiband compressor might do a better job for you, but that can be a somewhat complex tool to master.
    2) Add a very small amount of "small room" or "medium room" reverb to the edited track. Sometimes a barely audible amount of reverb can go a long way toward smoothing out a choppy voiceover track.
    Good luck.

  • BT Broadband contract question! (Upgrade the accou...

    Hi all!
    Not getting anywhere with BT support/sales online..they just totally ignored my question.
    If I move to BT Broadband ADSL2+ account (From another ISP), but FTTC Infinity gets upgraded at my exchange
    several months later (mid contract).. can I upgrade to this ok? In theory its an upgrade, so
    I hope I don't have to pay off the contract before upgrading?
    I am tempted to switch now from Plusnet, ready for BT Sport and have access to BT Fon wifi out
    and about as only get 500MB data on my phone.
    Many thanks for any help!
    Chris
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    That makes perfect sense! Thanks for that!
    I didnt want to pay off a contract or wait until it ends, yet FTTC is sitting there lol!
    Apparently FTTC install is starting next month, but could take a few months to complete if started then and i'd
    like to switch to at least BT ADSL2+ for now to get BTFon + pre register for BT Sports for free!
    I've clicked the star for you.. cheers

  • Upgrade/ contract question

    Hi, i am on a family share plan with 5 people. I am neither of the 2 primary cell phones. I would like to move from verizon to at & t because of the iphone. My question is i am eligible for an upgrade in february but my contract is over in june. So when can i switch to at & t without being charged for an early termination fee.  I have a blackberry and understand the early termination fee is $350 minus $10 for every month completed.  If i have to wait until june then i will pay the termination fee.  But i also have an LG Dare (which is a feature phone) so can i switch from my blackberry to the dare because the termination fee for feature phones is $175 minus $5 for every month completed.  And once my dare is reactivated, can i cancel my plan and be billed for the feature phone early termination fee?

    dukebdx4 wrote:
    ok just to make sure, if i end my contract right now, currently using a blackberry, i will be paying the ETF for a feature phone because that was the phone i bought at the beginning of my contract?
    You are exactly right. It will be based on the Dare.

  • Contract questions: Is this possible?

    I've been on my aunts plan for almost 10 years. Now that I've finished school and got a teaching job, I'd like to finally come off of her plan when I start working this fall. I essentially have two and a half questions.
    1. Is it possible to take my number off of my aunt's plan and start a new contract using that number? If this is possible, will I have the option of a new phone since I want to start a new contract?
    2. Will I be able to keep everything I have on my aunt's contract the same on the new contract if the new contract is even an option?
    Oh, another thing? What happened to all the plan options? There used to be options for 450 individual plans and then adding on messaging and data as you needed. The options I saw when I looked at the service plans seem like crap because they don't offer much flexibility.

    1) You could take your number and assume liability of it, which will transfer it into an account with your name/social, on a currently-offered plan of your choice, and retain whatever contract (or lack thereof) you currently have. If you're standard upgrade eligible now, you'll still be standard upgrade eligible after the assumption of liability. If not, you'll still have to wait for your upgrade date to get a discounted phone regardless of whether you assume liability or not.
    2) You'll have to pick from their currently-offered calling plans.
    3) They decided to change their plan offerings for new customers. Existing customers can stay grandfathered on the previous plans or switch, at their preference.

  • Moving - No Service - Contract Question

    Hello and thanks for fielding my question.
    Due to change of employment I'm going to be moving to a place where verizon does not offer phone service.  I still have 11 months left on my contract with VZW.  I'm I stuck with phone service that doesn't work, or is there a stipulation that's going to let me out of that contract?
    Thanks!

    Verizon's policy is to hold people who move to an area without service to the terms of the their contract.  It would be a good idea to see if someone would like to take over your contract by doing an Assumption of Liability and becoming the owner of the line, or to plan to pay the ETF.

  • My converted PDF contract is now in WORD but won't let me revise?

    I just signed up and a contract that was in PDF is now in WORD. I need to go in and revise language but the only format I can get is web archive, which does not allow changes. Am I doing something wrong? This is the only reason I paid for this service, to be able to revise PDF's into re-writeable contracts.

  • Converting 8mm film question

    Not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes. I have acquired the old family 8 mm film reels (no audio) and the projector, a Kodak Brownie 8 Model 10. I would like to put them into digital format and edit in FCE.
    I have searched the web and local businesses to have someone else do this, but I'm cheap and would rather do it myself. Plus, I have read so many differing opinions on the best process (wetgate vs frame by frame, etc.) that I don't think I would trust a "transfer mill."
    I am hoping I can set it up to capture the projected movie into the Canon, then download and edit in FCE. The final output doesn't have to be of pristine quality, I just want it to be as good as I can get using my current equipment. I like the ambiance of the old film look. I plan to keep a copy on MiniDV for future editing.
    1) Is this really a feasible idea? 2) If yes, what am I looking at in terms of frame rate adjustment? What sort of settings do I potentially need on the Canon and in FCE? I thought I had found a few threads on this before, but can't locate them now. Please feel free to point me to those threads, if they do exist in more than just my imagination.
    Thanks!

    iMac 20" Intel Core Duo 2Ghz 1.5gb RAM   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    Hi Lisa,
    Been there, done that.
    A few years ago, as a favor, I set out to convert to digital all 8 and Super8 film shot by various relatives as far back as 1946. A variable speed projector is essential, and projecting on an off-white surface is best. Using manual focus and manual exposure worked best for me. Also, connect your camera to a tv — the larger the better — while you're filming. It helps a lot with focus, determining proper exposure, and correcting flicker. Much better than using the camera's small monitor.
    No matter what, you still end up with some amount of flicker and a hotspot. Then, because you cannot get the camera directly in line the image, there is some amount of distortion created by the camera offset and you also end up losing some amount of the projected image.
    In the end, you will have lost some quality and part of what was actually filmed, but will have preserved the captured memories and re-saved them to disk. Of course, with a dvd it's a whole lot faster to find a specific scene than having to set up a projector, find the reel, etc. So, that's good, and better than not transferring at all.
    I've seen some of the results of the film transfer factories, and, for the most part, the do-it-yourself methods discussed here produce better results because you're working on something you care about, rather than have a min. wage person being bored processing other people's boring home movies.
    I appreciate the desire to do this with minimal expense. My wife has described me as someone who can make Lincoln scream by squeezing a penny so tight. However, in the end, I just wasn't satisfied with the result. So, I shopped around a bit and ended up at www.moviestuff.tv and purchased the equipment to do my own frame-by-frame transfer.
    The result is incredible. Full-frame capture of the original film frames, no hot spot, no flicker, true colors, sharp focus. And, as word spread to the friends of relatives, and to their friend's friends, I started getting requests to do transfers for them — for a reasonable fee of course. Consider that possibility when you look at the cost of the equipment. Just thru references, my setup has already been paid for.
    Good luck with your project.

  • Value Contracts question

    Hello All,
    We want to use Value Contracts in our organization. I was testing
    release orders created with reference to the value contract.
    If I create sales order 1 with reference to the value contract, the
    system updates the 'value released' of the value contract with the sales
    order 1 value. However, at times, we have a requirement to create sales
    order 2 with reference to sales order 1. In this case, the 'value
    released' amount in the value contract should be increased by the sales
    order 2 amount.
    Also in certain cases (like consignments), the subsequent sales order
    values might be a credit. In this case, the 'value released' in the
    value contract should also be credited accordingly.
    Currently, in both cases, when subsequent sales orders are created, the
    'value released' in the value contract is unchanged.
    Can someone please tell me if a value contract can be made to look at
    all subsequent orders to update its 'value released'? If yes, could you
    please tell me how?
    Thanks,
    Rugmani

    Thank you for your response.
    Such a  requirement arises in case of Consignments. We are using consignment orders (fillup, pickup, issue, return) for the customer. Hence, we create a consignment fillup order when we are sending out a material. If the customer returns the old material within a specified time, he should not be charged for it. Else, he would be charged and in this case, a consignment issue needs to be created. If, in special cases, we decide to accept the old material (beyond the warranty return period), a Consignment return will be created to credit the customer.
    When the value contract comes in play, we need to deduct the value remaining for the customer when we create a pickup, increase the value remaining when the customer returns the material etc. The problem occurs when the amount needs to be put back. As the consignment orders need to be created with reference to one another, there is no link to the value contract and hence the value remaining does not get updated correctly.
    Please let me know if you have any suggestions for this requirement.
    Thanks,
    Rugmani
