Prepopulate Adapter and Rule Generator Adapter

Can anyone tell me the exact difference between Prepopulate adapter and Rule generator adapter? I have read the documentation but both seems to be same.
Please explain me with an example scenario..
Regards
Pavan

Hi,
See if this help you in gaining more understanding.
PrePopulate Adapter: They are mapped with the fields of process form and are used to prepopulate the fields value during the resource provisioning.
RG Adapter: A RG Adapter incoporates business rules to the fields of either OIM user form or user defined form so that these fields can be automatically populated
and saved to the database. You can use the RG & Entity Adapter to construct the userid from the firstname and lastname fields and prepopulate it.
Difference:
While both these adapter can be used to prepopulate values but RG Adapter has one to one mapping with the RG adapter and custom field. An RG Adapter once
attached to a field cannot be attached with another field thus preventing adapter reuse. Beside this, no other type of adapter can be associated with that custom
field. In contrast, the PrePopulate adapter can be reused and attached with multiple fields.
Hope this will help you.

Prepopulate Adapter and Rule Generator Adapter

  • Rule generator adapter

    hi,
Please explain me whats the use of rule generator adapter where entity adapter and prepopulate adapter does all the functions of a rule generator.
i have gone through the docs but it doesnt explain the difference.
    Thanks in advance,

You are correct in stating the functionality of the oim adapter types is overlapping. The documentation describes the recommended classification types of the adapters while you can achieve the same functionality by creating some other adapter type in similar fashion.
I would suggest you to use the recommended approach as mentioned in the documentation.

  • Rule-Generator Adapter is not being triggered

I have created a rule-generator adapter and assigned it to pre-insert and pre-update of a process form (mapped the return value to process form field) but the system does not trigger the adapter when I add the resource to user. Any ideas why this happens?

I tried with an entity adapter but the effect is the same (restarted the server). It looks like the system does trigger the pre-insert and pre-update events. Any ideas?

    Hi All,
I am not able to find god step by step blog on senderJMS adapter and Receiver JMS adapter.
also please explain when we use JMS.What does a messng system means?please provide some examples.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi  Goyal,
    Messaging System :
Messaging system allows separate, uncoupled applications to reliably communicate asynchronously. The messaging system architecture generally replaces the client/server model with a peer-to-peer relationship between individual components, where each peer can send and receive messages to and from other peers.
Go thru this you will get better idea :

JMS adapter (Java Message Service) enables you to connect messaging systems to the Integration Engine or the PCK.

  • Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter and Microsoft 6to4 Adapter

    Hi ,
as per best practice of Cluster Hyper-v All drives on all nodes should be the same version
But I found network drivers "Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter and Microsoft 6to4 Adapter" are installed one some nodes and not installed on other nodes
IP Ver 6 is enabled on all network drivers
So What should I do and How ?  Install the drivers or uninstall it  and how to do that ?
    thanks in advance.
    Ramy

    Hi Ramy,
"So What should I do and How ?  Install the drivers or uninstall it  and how to do that ?"
Teredo is an IPv6 transition technology that provides address assignment and host-to-host automatic tunneling for unicast IPv6 traffic when IPv6/IPv4 hosts are located behind one or multiple IPv4 network address translators (NATs).
You may keep the default setting .
If you want to create a hyper-v cluster , please refer to the step-by-step guide :
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc732181(v=WS.10).aspx
"Before you create the cluster, we strongly recommend that you run a full validation test of your configuration. Validation helps you to confirm that the configuration of your servers, network, and storage meets a set of specific requirements for failover
clusters. You can validate either an existing cluster or one or more servers that are not yet clustered."
This step will help you to check cluster configuration .

  • IPHONE UBS Adapter and iPOD UBS Adapter

Does anyone know if one can use the UBS adapter from iPOD Mini to connect the iPHONE 3GS? Be great to have one packed for my travels and one at home.
    Thanks!

All of the plug parts and the cables will work with any iPod.
That includes the older style power adapter and the new one - i.e. the one that comes with either the iPhone 3G or the 3GS which is just the plug. I'm fairly certain they will also power up all old iPods (except the shuffles of course).

  • What is the difference between SCXI-1349 adapter and DIO-24 adapter(in SCXI-1353 assembly)

I have an SCXI 1353 cable assembly. How do I differentiate between these two adapters ?

    Sasi,
Hello, the SCXI-1349 adapter is is used for connecting 68-pin MIO E Series devices to an SCXI chassis.
The SCXI 1353 (comes with two adapters) is used for connecting 100-pin MIO E Series boards to an SCXI chassis. The first adapter is identical to the SCXI-1349, while the second adapter routes the extended analog or digital signals to the SCXI digital modules or breadboarding modules.
    Good luck with your application!

  • Difference In RFC Adapter and XI proxy

I am using RFC adapter for master data and XI proxy for transaction data , can anyone tell me what is major difference and what is negative point in using RFC adapter

    Hi,
Adapters enable the Integration Engine and the Partner Connectivity Kit (PCK) to communicate with different applications.Adapters connect the Integration Engine to SAP legacy systems, as well as to external systems.
In this way, adapters integrate existing SAP components with SAP Exchange Infrastructure, for example. In the process, XML and HTTP-based documents are converted to IDocs (IDoc adapter) and RFCs (RFC adapter) and the other way around. This enables you to integrate your existing SAP infrastructure with the new SAP infrastructure, which is based on system integration and the exchange of XML messages.
The plain HTTP adapter gives application systems the option of communicating with the Integration Engine and exchanging business data in a simple format, using an HTTP connection.
    RFC Adapter :
The RFC adapter enables you to use the functions of the Integration Engine or the PCK in existing SAP landscapes. It is used by SAP systems to connect to the Integration Engine or the PCK by using the RFC interface. It supports SAP systems as of version 3.1x.
For FAQs about the RFC adapter, see SAP Note 730870
The RFC adapter is provided by the Adapter Engine and the PCK. It essentially comprises two parts, namely a sender adapter at the Integration Engine inbound channel, and a receiver adapter at the Integration Engine outbound channel.
The adapters are configured in the configuration part of the Integration Builder, or in the configuration part of the PCK. You use the SAP Java Connector (JCo), which enables you to manage metadata. This in turn enables you to map RFC data generically to RFC XML and the other way around.
The receiver RFC adapter can be used for mapping lookups.A communication channel with a receiver RFC adapter can be created automatically for business systems that are defined in the System Landscape Directory.
The RFC adapter maps the following RFC calls to XML messages and the other way around:
Synchronous RFC calls (sRFCs) in messages with quality of service Best Effort (BE)
    ●     Transactional RFC calls (tRFCs) in messages with quality of service Exactly Once (EO)
    ●     The receiver RFC adapter can also process messages with quality of service Exactly Once In Order (EOIO). They are mapped to transactional RFC calls (tRFC).
You require the sender adapter if you want to use the Integration Engine or the PCK to process RFCs. The RFC adapter converts the incoming RFC data to XML message format (RFC XML) so that it can be processed by the Integration Engine or the PCK.
You require the receiver adapter if the determined receiver system expects the data from the Integration Engine or the PCK to arrive in RFC format. In this case, the Integration Engine or the PCK must transfer the received XML message (RFC XML) to the RFC adapter. The RFC adapter converts the RFC XML message to a valid RFC call and executes the call.
    Proxy :
Generally speaking, interfaces are where functions in a system can be executed. In the context of SAP Exchange Infrastructure, only the following interfaces are relevant:
    ·        Interfaces designed for message exchange between application systems
    ·        Interfaces used by a cross-component integration process to receive or send messages, or both
Starting with a cross-system integration process, you can then derive the corresponding interfaces required. SAP Exchange Infrastructure supports this process by using an integration scenario to describe the collaborative process. The integration scenario summarizes the interfaces required for this collaborative process.
You can use SAP interfaces that already exist in systems, non-SAP interfaces that are connected to SAP Exchange Infrastructure using adapters, or define new interfaces called message interfaces in the Integration Repository. Both worlds can also be interconnected in a collaborative process.
Interfaces are an essential component of SAP Exchange Infrastructure:
    ·        You define the interfaces to be used in an integration scenario.
    ·        Cross-component integration processes use interfaces to exchange messages.
    ·        You define the XML transformations for messages that are to be exchanged between two interfaces in a mapping.
    ·        You assign an interface in a sender system to one or more interfaces in a receiver system in logical routing.
    ·        You generate proxies to implement your scenario based on message interfaces.
You save interface descriptions (message interfaces, BAPIs, RFCs, and IDocs) in the Integration Repository so that they can be referenced throughout SAP Exchange Infrastructure. However, adapters for external systems do not normally use interfaces; instead they access files or database tables in order to function, for example. For this reason, it is not necessary to import these interfaces into the Integration Repository. If the structure of the message is described using a WSDL, XSD, or DTD schema, you can import the schema as an external definition.
    Hope this will help you.

  • Difference of Seeberger AS2 and Seeberger EDI adapter

    Hi All,
What is the difference of Seeberger AS2 adapter and Seeberger EDI adapter?. is it both are same or not?
    Regards,
    Ramesh

    Hi,
From Abhy's reply in the thread given by Alexander,
<i>Seeburger provides adapters like AS2,FTP(EDI specific) and so on to route these EDI messages to external EDI Partners.</i>
SeeBurger provies many adapters for Integration of XI with EDI subsystems supporting multiple specifications and so I guess when you say SeeBurger EDI adapters it refers to the range / catlogure of adapters / specification supported by SeeBurger EDI  Adapters and SeeBurger AS2 adapter is one among these many adapters.

  • What are Task assignment adapter and Task Assignment Rule?

What are Task assignment adapter and Task Assignment Rule?

Task assignment adapter lets you return a value to the type and assignee values in the adapter. You can use these to dynamically assigned to users or groups.
Task assignment rules let you specific the priority in which the assignment rules are done. If you go to any process task adapter and open it. Go to the assignemnt tab. Here is where you can specifiy your rules to create an order of determination. You can have multiple entries with rules determining organization and then have them assigned to appropriate groups in each assignemt rule entry. Or you can dynamically assign by using the default and a task assignment adapter to figure that out.
