Presentation services not starting,StartOC4J window closing automatically

Hi All,
After i create one repository,i started startOC4J but this window is opening and closing in few seconds automatically.Even the presentation services also not starting.
it is giving
"Windows couldn't start the Oracle BI Presentation server on Local computer.For more information,review the system event log.If this is a non-Microsoft service,Contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code -1"
Can anyone help me plz...

I'm sure you have messed up with your NQSConfig.INI file. Make sure, its pointing to the exact name of the new Repository that you have created under REPOSITORY Section like
[ REPOSITORY ]
Star = samplesales.rpd, DEFAULT;
And also, this RPD samplesales.rpd should be present in \OracleBI\server\Repository folder.
Cross-check your instanceconfig.xml file as well..

Our Solution Manager is in EHP1 SP21 and OS-Windows 2008 Server.
We installed Wily Enterprise Manager 8.0. and found 1 non-fatal error in the installation log. The service is not starting.
However it works fine for Windows 2003 Server.
Can anyone encountered with the same kind of problem?

2. Windows Server 2008 is not yet officially supported by CA Wily for the Enterprise Manager. If you want to install the Enterprise Manager anyway, set the "Windows 2003 compatibility mode" for the installer before launching it. To activate this mode, right click on the installer.exe file in the Windows Explorer, select tab "Compatibility", activate the check box for compatibility mode and select Windows 2003. If you do not set this, the installer will consider your OS as Unix and install shell scripts (no suffix) instead of batch files (.bat) and leave out some files for Windows Service registration.
If the windows service still fails to start please check if files ServiceWrapper.jar and ServiceWrapper.dll are present in folder lib. If not download them from attachment of this note.
The service should start although giving an error message regarding the ServiceWrapper.dll. You can ignore this error.

BI Presentation services - not starting

Hi Experts,
I tried to integrate BIP and restarted BI services.
Error :
Windows could not start BI Presentation server on local computer.For more information,review the
system event log.if this is non-microsoft service,contact the service vendor, and refer to service specific error code-1".
I checked in Instanceconfig.xml and credentialstore.xml. still Iam getting the same issue.
Can any one help in this issue.

verify the configuration you did for BIP. and if everything is correct restart the system will work. if you find any other info in log files, post it here.

i have already tried below mentioned things but still issue persists,
RESOLUTION:
Connect to WebLogic Server (WLS) Console -> Deployments. Ensure that all deployed components are in ‘Active’ state.
Use the command prompt to verify the opmn status, as the EM console will not always reflect the correct status.
If any of the components is in ‘Prepared’ state, select that application and then click on “start servicing all requests”.
Restart BI Server and Presentation Services
If this does not resolve the issue please follow the steps below:
In some cases, the following additional step might be needed to resolve the issue.
Access the Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware control: http://<host.domain>:port/em
Navigate to Business Intelligence -> coreapplication
‘Capacity Management’ tab -> ‘Scalability’ sub-tab
Click on ‘Lock and Edit Configuration’ button
Enter the IP address in the ‘Listen Address’ field
Click on ‘Activate Changes’ followed by ‘Release Configuration’ buttons.
Restart BI Server and Presentation Services
Please guide.

Oracle Database Console Service not starting on Windows 2008 R2

I am installing Oracle 11G
The database installs fine, however Database Console service will not start. The java process is launched and I get the login screen, however after logging in I see: Error: Internal Error has occurred. Check the log file for details.

I do not know what is being passed for variables, however there is only one row in that table (Target_name=Management Services and Repository) and in another database instance I have 5.
I have tried uninstalling the entire database several times and I have also used emca -deconfig dbcontrol db -repos drop and emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create several times after updating my host file (even though I have a static IP). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

OBIEE 10g Linux Presentation Services not starting

Hi,
I'm having some problems starting up the Presentation Services. The oc4j service and the Server (run-sa.sh) service started with no problems but when i try to start the Presentation Services i get the following error on the sawserver.out.log:

Hi,
Is this the only error that you got in log files. Can you change the presentation catalog name and give it a try. Kill all the services. Start OC4J and then start the services.

ISQLPlus Service not started in Windows 2000 (Oracle 10.1)

I have installed Oracle 10g on Windows Platform.
All the service are started but iSQLPlus service showing "starting".
Its giving me an error :
"Failed to start the service, Error:997, overlapped I/O operation is in progress"

OBIEE 11.1.1.5 presentation service not started after fresh installtion

hi all,
we have installing OBIEE 11.1.1.5 64bit in AIX machine. after fresh installation all the services are up and running.
once we restart the OPMN services, all the services are up except presentation service..
System Environment:
OS : AIX 7.1 TL03 64bit
OBIEE : OBIEE11.1.1.5 64bit
Installation type : Enterprise
DB : 11gR2
kindly guide us to find out the root cause..

we have already done what u suggest and reinstall whole OBIEE include DB also ...but still we are facing this issue..
any other ways to start presentation service....

InDesignServer Service not starting on Windows Server 2003 (32bit & 64 bit)

Note: this issue is different from this thread on a similar issue.
This problem has plagued me for weeks and I finally give up. InDesign Server installs successfully and the InDesignServerService starts, but the server does not run. I can only run the server from the command line. I've followed these installation instructions but run into the following problems:
1. installing by the command line: InDesignServerService /install fails and produces the following error log:
Installing service InDesignServerService...
Creating EventLog source InDesignServerService in log Application...
Rolling back assembly 'E:\Program Files\Adobe InDesign CS4 Server\InDesignServerService.exe'.
Affected parameters are:
   logtoconsole =
   assemblypath = E:\Program Files\Adobe InDesign CS4 Server\InDesignServerService.exe
   logfile = E:\Program Files\Adobe InDesign CS4 Server\InDesignServerService.InstallLog
Restoring event log to previous state for source InDesignServerService.
2. I cannot install or load the snap-in to MMC. When I try to install regsvr32 InDesignServerMMC.dll it cannot be found (as it's not in the InDesign Server directory). However InDesignServerMMC64.dll is in there and I was able to load the snap-in using regsvr32 InDesignServerMMC.dll, but the server still only runs when being started from the command line.
As I mentioned, InDesign Server runs fine when I have an active command line window open and run InDesignServer, but the moment I close the command line window, the server shuts down. Any ideas?

Well, when you run it using command line if you close the command line, of course that servers going to shutdown. So, if you wanna run without any extra window opened, you have to start your service. Go to the windows service window (administrative tools) and start the service (it's installed automatically).
Is your O.S. 32 or 64 bits? If it's 32 you install the wrong application, you have to install the compatible version with your O.S.
If you installed correctly, you can try up the service using the follow command in you prompt.
net start InDesignServerService (in this case you can close window when successefull menssages appear)

Critical Services Not Starting Automatically & Access to Server occasionally dropping out

For the last few months we have been trying to resolve an issue where access to files on the server (SBS2011 - running domain services, exchange, etc) get so slow or just unresponsive. Logging onto the server is also not possible till it starts responding
again.
We also found that when the server starts, the Netlogon services does not start automatically event though it is set to auto start. There are a number of other services mainly exchange services that do not start as well but it seems this may be due to the
net service not starting.
We have re-installed the OS but this does not seem to have fixed the issue. The environment is a mix of the SBS2011 server, two Windows Server 2003 boxes - one running Terminal Services. The other was being used for SAP but no longer in use. The clients
are mainly XP with a few Windows 7 machines. We are in the process of planning the replacement of the XP machines.

You re-installed SBS2011? - that seems rather drastic. Did you maintain your domain or just set it all up again?
This sounds like a DNS issue but have a look at the event viewer and google/post the Event ID and Source. Given those two you can start to track down the cause and possible fixes at www.eventid.net. Just be aware that SBS2011 has a lot of
"normal" event errors, see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2483007
You should also run the SBS best practice analyzer and maybe run the "Fix my network" wizard in the SBS console. Also make sure SBS is the DHCP server for the network.

Multiple instances not starting using Windows services

Hi,
We have two Oracle instacnes installed in same oracle home. They are not starting using windows 2000 service manager.
I have to go to svrmgrl and set the ORACLE_SID environment variable to startup each instance. How can I make them start through windows Services instead of manually doing it.
Is installing multiple instances in same home a good idea?
These multiple instances are not part of paralell server.

I have checked the registry keys and everything looks ok.
ORACLE_instance_AUTOSTART is true
ORACLE_instance_PFILE is correct
ORACLE_instance_SHUTDOWN is true
ORACLE_instance_SHUTDOWNTYPE is i
Above values are right for both instances. I even have recreated the services using ORADIM. I can start both instances by going to command prompt set ORACLE_SID and start the instance using SVRMGRL. But they'll not autostart when the machine is rebooted.

Have your gotten any updates installed?
Regarding to current information, this issue can be caused by corrupted updated files or drivers.
Please check if there is any update related to audio driver. Can this issue be fixed if you remove such update?
I also suggest you can try to reinstall Audio driver to check the results.

Presentation Services not getting started, OBIEE 11G

I tried starting "BI Presentation Services" from Start > All Program > Oracle Business Intelligence > Start BI Services
Which resulted in failure.

There was some changes done in instanceconfig.xml
after reverting those changes and a machine reboot, presentation services working
