Preset upload-directory
Is there any way to preset the GUI-Directory for FileSaveDialog or FileOpenDialog <b>without</b> dialog?
Whenever pressing Open File in the program the user will get the same directory.
Hello Mathias,
wasn't your Question answered there: /thread/84965 [original link is broken]?

Upload Directory Configuration Problem in jdev 10.1.3.2 adfbc
I am configuring a file upload utiltity. By default my files are created in /tmp directory i.e on c:\tmp folder. I intend to change this behaviour as i want this to be uplaoded into a drive other than c:\
When we define the upload directory i have specified d:\amitupload\ files are uplaoded properly. But the problem is downloading the same. Its giving me nullpointer exception.
What am i doing wrong. I followed the SRDemo Steps for file upload/download
regards
AmitFrank can we have UPLOAD_DIR defined as d:\uploaddir for windows or /app/uploads for linux operating system
I am doing this way this method is called on download button action.
My problem i could resolve the issue as my uploaddoc method was executed on value change listener attached on the input file component. So when i clicked on download this uploaddoc method is fired which cannot find the file in the input file component so the error message as null pointer exception.
I shifted the code to upload button action now its working fine.

Allowing To Select Upload Directory in Webserver
I'm required to improve my upload webpage so that user are allowed to choose which folder in the webserver into which they can upload some files. Since I haven't been that long working with Java and JSP, I had no luck solving this problem.
Can anyone kindly give me some advice as to how to achieve this? Website with such feature will help too.there is no easy solution.
You will have to create a browser for the upload file directory where the users are allowed to downlaod too, in that browser users select the path and you need to retrieve it to do the actual download.
Most web containers use it to allow you to upload things but i have seen a package for it yet,. -
My FTP upload - Directory / Path?
Can anyone advise me what should go into the Directory/Path box when publishing via FTP?
Thanks,
TImDirectory/Path is the path to the root folder on your server.
This will depend on the arrangement on your server but would normally be something like: domainname.com/
If you enter the IP number in the Server Address box you can often get away with leaving the Directory/Path box empty. Its not really required unless you are uploading to a sub folder. -

How can I make Firefox 4's "File Upload" window start in the same directory across all sites?
I upload webcomic image files to multiple sites every day--the same file to multiple sites--through the "File Upload" window that comes up in Firefox when you click on a site's "Browse..." file request field.
In Firefox 3 (under Windows XP), when I used Firefox's "File Upload" window to upload files, the "File Upload" window would come up showing the last directory from which I'd uploaded anything to ANY site.
In Firefox 4, on the other hand, the "File Upload" window comes up showing the last directory from which I last uploaded to that specific domain.
I'd like to know if there's an about:config setting--I couldn't find one when searching for "file," "upload," or "dir"--to revert to the Firefox 3 behavior. The reason is that now in Firefox 4, because I typically upload two files to four different web sites per day--one file to all four sites, then later in the day, a second file to all four sites--I have to switch from the first upload directory to the second upload directory in each of the four "File Upload" windows for the second file, whereas in Firefox 3 I only had to do that once. Here's how it used to go:
In Firefox 3:
# "File Upload" for file 1 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
# "File Upload" for file 1 at drunkduck.com: desired local directory is already selected.
# "File Upload" for file 1 at smackjeeves.com: desired local directory is already selected.
# "File Upload" for file 1 at comicfury.com: desired local directory is already selected.
# "File Upload" for file 2 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
# "File Upload" for file 2 at drunkduck.com: desired local directory is already selected.
# "File Upload" for file 2 at smackjeeves.com: desired local directory is already selected.
# "File Upload" for file 2 at comicfury.com: desired local directory is already selected.
and here's how it goes under Firefox 4:
# "File Upload" for file 1 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
# "File Upload" for file 1 at drunkduck.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
# "File Upload" for file 1 at smackjeeves.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
# "File Upload" for file 1 at comicfury.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different location than file 2 from the previous day.
# "File Upload" for file 2 at smbhax.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
# "File Upload" for file 2 at drunkduck.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
# "File Upload" for file 2 at smackjeeves.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
# "File Upload" for file 2 at comicfury.com: have to browse to the local directory where the file is located, since it's a different directory than file 1.
So basically, where under Firefox 3 I only had to browse through my directories twice per day to upload two files to four sites, under Firefox 4, I have to browse through my directories eight times per day to accomplish the same thing. You can use the Remember Password bookmarklet: <br />
https://www.squarefree.com/bookmarklets/forms.html#remember_password <br /> ''Has worked for me when I have needed it to save a password on a web site that used autocomplete=off.'' As far as the Bug that '''cor-el''' linked, I can't remember ever running across a website that did it like that.
Or, you can use the Saved Password Editor extension, which includes a means of manually adding Username/Passwords to Firefox. <br />

Upload Form - Uploading to a specific directory.

Although you don't realize it, this is worded more clearly. I
can't tell
you the code for it because I don't do ColdFusion, but the
answer to
your problem is quite simple. Create a select drop-down menu
in your
form, and use the value submitted as the upload directory.

Hi all,
I'm using JDeveloper 11.1.1.1.1.0. I followed Steve Muench's uploading example (http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/stories/2004/09/23/notYetDocumentedAdfSampleApplications.html#85). The uploading works well with files undir 10k. But I get an error when I try to upload a file i.e. of size 22k. Both files are txt files. I also get the error when I use Steve's sample application. I've tried this on 2 different databases, XE 10g, and a 11g database. The error I get in the weblogic server is the following:

Any ideas what could be causing this? I get this error both in the example application and in my application. I also get this error in both the 10g (XE) database and in the 11g enterprise database.
Thanks in advance.
Sturla ThorThanks for your reply jflack.
I forgot to say that I had set those parameters:

Powershell: How do I upload files with metadata from a manifest file?
I am using the script from this blog to try to upload files into SharePoint, using a manifest file to specify the metadata associated with each file. Right now, the script works, but is not populating
the metadata from the manifest (xml) file. When I write the $metadataManifest variable out to the console, I get the contents of my xml file, so the code is reading the file when it should. However when it gets to the line in bold ($metadataManifest.Columns.Column),
it does not go into that block...it just skips on to checkin the file. Again the $metadataManifest variable shows all the content in my xml manifest file. Here is what the script looks like...
#Get web and document library objects
$web = Get-SPWeb "http://companySite"
$Library = "My Library"
$docLibrary = $web.Lists[$Library]
$ManifestFilePath = "C:\PowerShellScripts\Manifest.xml"

I can't figure out what am doing wrong...why my script is not iterating through the manifest file to upload the document along with the metadata. I would really appreciate any help. ThanksHi Spawn,
Name should not be a problem.. I will probably post you the entire code (I modified it to meet your goals for having multiple column xml nodes as well)
For the code snippet below:
a. In powershell all my changes will have ## prefixed comments
b. in XML I have changed one column name to "Name" to replicate your case and also added a parent node for making the xml well formed.
and the SharePoint output
Please see the code below

ERROR upload: Error in uploadXMLFiles after upgrading from 10.2.0.4
After upgrading from 10.2.0.1 to 10.2.0.4 on a newly installed Oracle server, I could not use dbconsole any more. It would not display the login page at http://myserver:1158/em. I tried different browser IE, FireFox, and Chrome. It is the same. Then I checked the %ORACLE_HOME/{server_sid}/sysman/log/emagent.trc and found this errors in it:
2010-02-04 14:11:45 Thread-2552 WARN command: Job Subsystem Timeout set at 600 seconds

2010-02-04 14:11:50 Thread-352 ERROR upload: Error in uploadXMLFiles. Trying again in 60.00 seconds.
I tried emctl secure, upload, start and stop many times. It is still the same. It is a new server and a new database. Any idea?
TIA!I did not change password. It is not password issue.
According to Oracle support,
1) the error "2010-02-04 14:11:50 Thread-352 ERROR upload: Error in uploadXMLFiles. Trying again in 60.00 seconds" can be ignored.
2) The error: 2010-02-05 02:52:19 Thread-3864 ERROR util.files: nmeufile_remove D:/oracle/product/10.2.0/db_1/orsvp04.OCTAGONRESEARCH.COM_vp/sysman/recv\00000000365.lk: Error in lfidlb. Error = 0 (No error)
could be because I used "emctl start agent" , which are not allowed command for DBconsole. The correct one is "emctl start dbconsole"
Thanks for your input! -
Upload form problems on Mac web server with PHP
First time using a mac web server and I'm having a heck of a time getting a simple upload form to work in this environment. The errors I'm receiving are:
Warning: move_uploaded_file(/Library/WebServer/Documents/mydirectory/content/mwm/) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: Is a directory in /Library/WebServer/Documents/mydirectory/umin/uploadContent.php on line 66
Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/private/var/tmp/php1pRrx5' to '/Library/WebServer/Documents/mydirectory/content/mwm/' in /Library/WebServer/Documents/mydirectory/umin/uploadContent.php on line 66
Usually this problem is resolved by changing permissions on the directory receiving the upload. I've already done that, and set the permissions to 777, though the problem still persists.
I'm basically defining my upload directory, and then moving the file thereafter:
define('UPLOAD_DIR', '/Library/WebServer/Documents/mydirectory/content/'. $category . '/');
move_uploaded_file($_FILES['uploadedFile']['tmp_name'], UPLOAD_DIR);
The rest of the script, without the move execution, works properly. Any help would be appreciated.
Message was edited by: LoopyChickenBAH!
I had forgotten to add the name of the file to the move command:
Fix here:
move_uploaded_file($_FILES['uploadedFile']['tmp_name'], UPLOAD_DIR.$file);
