Presets For .flv Export Different in Pro CS5 vs. Elements 4

Hello:
I have been using the simple Premier Elements 4 to read in Flip Video 640X480 movies.
When I export them, I can choose a Flash Video preset of NTSC Flash Video 7 (320 X 240).
But, in Premier Pro CS5, that's not an option.  The closest I can come is FLV Flash Video 8 And Higher, with different dimensions:  368 X 272.  Unfortunately, the 368 X 272 will not fit in the space on my web page.  It needs to be 320 X 240.
Does anyone know why they changed the dimensions?  I can change the preset to a lower pixel dimension, but what problems will that create?

One change that may be related is that we didn't include the Sorenson Spark codec with Premiere Pro CS5; we just included the On2 VP6 codec for FLV files.
The On2 VP6 codec was introduced with Flash Player 8, so (sometimes) "Flash Player 8" is a different way of indicating On2 VP6, and "Flash Player 7" is a way of indicating Sorenson Spark in preset names.
This shouldn't present any practical problems for you on export, but it may explain the difference that you're seeing. I can't be 100% sure, since I don't have Premiere Elements installed on this laptop, so I can't check what its presets contain.

Why remove .flv export from Premiere Pro CC 2014? And what's a good workaround?

OK, so you want to put it on your own web page. That's fine as long as you know how to create a web page.
The next thing you have to decide is how big do you want the video to appear on the web page. Many people just post on YouTube and then embed the video into their web page. That way, the video can take advantage of all of the various sizes that YouTube provides.
In any case, I suggest that you use H.264. But the data rate depends on the size of the file. If you are going to display it in HD, then you probably want to start at about 20Mb/s and go up or down from there. The required data rate depends on what you find acceptable, and that depends on the amount of movement in the video. For example, a talking head next to a white board explaining something requires a lot less bits to represent the image because less changes are taking place from frame to frame. If you use 10Mb/s for that, you might find 20Mb/s or more is required to make you happy if you shot a football game from the sidelines.
I generally use settings that look like this image. If you have any questions as to why I choose these settings, feel free to ask.

  • Exporting from Premiere Pro CS5 and DVD authoring

I have a reoccuring problem with Premiere Pro and authoring DVDs. This is how it goes.
    I shoot a video using a Canon 5D Mark III. 1080p 24.
I then edit in Premiere Pro CS5, with proper settings on the sequence which are the preset Digital SLR > 1080p > DSLR 1080p24.
    Everything is hunky dory.
Then I have to export...and the frustration ensues...
I export using the HDTV 1080p 24 High Quality export preset with the H.264 export codec. This gives me a decent .mp4
I then bring this file into Encore and author the dvd. I used the regular dvd and the blue ray export settings as a test, but the video always ends up looking horrible with artifacts all over the place, especially on areas of high contrast. It looks like a badly compressed .jpg.
This happens at various times when exporting animation/motion graphics from After Effects also. When I use a ramp in the background, the gradient is often very banded...
When I rent a movie from the video store, the images and type look good on whatever i play the dvd on or watch it through. When I burn a dvd, it looks universally bad using all kinds of players on all kinds of monitors, projectors, etc...
Can anyone lead be in the direction of an article or video that will thoroughly explain this so i can learn it once and for all?
    Thanks in advance.

    Jim, lol.
    Thanks everyone as usual.
So, should my composition settings for after effects be set to 24 or 23.976 and can i render them as 16 bit?
Will this reduce the banding and artifacts along with using dynamic link? Or will it ultimately be 8 bit by the time the dvd is burned and go back to the banding....?

  • Sony HDR CX550v export settings Premiere Pro CS5

I would like to know, what are the best "Export Settings" in premiere CS5 when rendering for Blu-ray?
I shoot everything in the highest quality HD setting. I assume I should export it as Progressive Scan, but should I? Or, should I just check "Match Sequence Settings"? Or, should I select a format with a preset that has "Match Source Attributes"?
I've found the best DVD settings are "MPEG2 DVD" with a preset "Match Source Attributes" and then customizing it by selecting the Field Order "None (Progressive)". This looks amazing for DVD quality, esp. on my Sony Blu-ray player that claims to upconvert DVD to some quasi HD deal. It almost feels like HD.
For DVD I've tried customizing by increasing bit rate, and all kinds of stuff. It just made it horrible, it took about 4 to 8 times longer to render, and wasted a perfectly otherwise fine verbatim lightscribe DVD-R....
Anyways, would like to know without the labor of trial and error, how to best tackle the HD side if anyone knows. Thanks!

  • Encoder Options For *.wmv Files re Premiere Pro CS5.5

    Hi,
I have a collection of *.wmv files that Premiere Pro CS5.5 refuses to open and it always generates an error message so I need to re-encode these *.wmv files into a format that Premiere Pro will import OK. I know that Premiere Pro will open *.wmv files so I think that the ones I have must have some data structures slightly out of normal. The files actually play with VLC and open with Sony Vegas so they are not corrupt.
What I hope to do is to use an encoder that will re-encode the files without any loss of video quality into another format or even into a slightly renamed *.wmv file in the hope that the re-encoded version of the *.wmv file will then be palatable to Premiere Pro.
Would anyone please be able to recommend an encoder that is suitable for my needs? On a final point, as a total novice with video, what aspects on re-encoding would cause loss of video quality or is there no loss of quality when re-encoding? Apologies for such a dumb question but I really am a newbie to all this.
    Rgds

If you can get the files open with Vegas, you could probably export them using Lagarith Lossless Video Codec or Ut Video Codec Suite, both of which are lossless AVI codecs that work nicely with Premiere Pro. PPro needs the 64-bit version, but I don't know enough about Vegas to know if you need 32-bit or 64-bit, so just install both. Note that the files will be much larger, but will not suffer any perceptible quality hit.
I'm not sure of any way to do a WMV rewrap--I'll see what I can find.

  • How to create presets for Keyframes in Adobe Premire Pro CC?

    Dear Users,
I´m working on a Clip with more than one Video inside. I want to have one video in the back and the other Video on the right lower side (Picture in Picture).
Sometimes the right one should move to full screen and after a few seconds it should go back to the lower right again. This action
will be repeat many times in the complet movie, so I have to create keyframes for the movement (right to full screen / full screen to lower right).
All the time I have to copy the needed Keyframes and have to paste them on the new direction, but this needs many time.
So my question: Is it possible to make presets for the keyframe actions? Means, if I reach a position where I need the action
"right to full screen" I have to klick only one Preset Button and the keyframes will be added at this position!
    Hope there is a possibility.
Best regards and sorry for my bad english!

    Hello,
You can try the following work around with composition:-
    1) Add a you tube video to the page.
    2) Drag the video to the target of composition widget.
    3) Resize the video to have the size of the target.
The triggers can have the images related to the videos so as to act as thumbnails for videos.

  • Is There A Way To Create Custom Presets For Sharing/Exporting?

First-time iMovie users, long-time Mac enthusiast.
VERY impressed with how easy this wonderful application is to learn, but the inability to save custom presets exporting to Quicktime is puzzling.
iMovie6 does remember the settings I specified in "Expert Settings", but it'd be great to save it as "canned preset" that would show up w/all the other ones (Email, CD-Rom, Web, etc).
Is this just another feature I've yet to discover, or is it possible at all? Or is it the first roadblock I've encountered where extra ca$h is needed for another product?

  • White-based Alpha channel for flv export

I'm trying to export a sequence into flash (.flv) and include the alpha channel. The default alpha channel base color is black, but I need white because the black creates an outline around the object (check out www.wavereel.com to see the video I exported as an example). There is a way to change the monitor preview video to a white background for frame-by-frame previewing, but whenever it's played, it reverts back to black. How do you change it to white?

I just found this info, which may help us.

which discusses using the Animation Sequence setting and likely a Compressor export as Animation codec from un-rendered timeline.

  • OMF Export Hangs - Premiere Pro CS5

I am exporting about 19 minute long sequence to OMF. I have about 12 audio tracks - most of these are mono, couple of tracks are stereo. There are no nested sequences. As for effects, there's only one audio gain.
I tried exporting with encapsulate option - after about 5 minutes, the progress bar hangs at a certain point - it hung for more than 40 minutes.
I cancelled the export, and then tried exporting with separate audio files setting - the progress bar hangs at a certain point (a little farther than the encapsulate setting) and is hung again for over 30 minutes now.I can see that all audio (Wav) files are saved in the folder, however the progress bar is hung and the OMF file is at 0KB. Is premiere doing anything? Does it take this long? Or is Premiere is hung?
I am on a very tight timeline and will appreciate help resolving this.
    Thanks.
    RV

For anyone who might run into similar problem - after trying multiple things, found out the problem. For a few audio clips, the stereo was split into 2 mono tracks and placed on timeline on two tracks. I manually removed each of thesesplit tracks and replaced it with stereo file on a single stereo track on timeline.
    And the OMF rendered finally!

  • Good Premiere pro Cs5.5 Video Editing Computer Set Up For Under $3000

Hey everyone im hopeing to hear for Harm Millaard input on this and anyone elses who understands PC computers for video editing. I need to build a computer set up for my specific needs. I am a youtuber who makes videos for a living and I need a speedy computer for editing primarily in premiere pro CS5.5 and sometimes in After effects. I use magic bullet 2.0 color grading in almost all my videos so that slows my computer down alot. The current computer I have now shuts off when ever it runs to much stuff and gives me the BSOD so its extreemly fusterating because editing something small can take me all day because of the constent shutting off. Mostly does BSOD when I uses Magic Bullet 2.0 I shoot with DSLR footage but once in a while it will happen out of the blue when running alot of things but mostly when exporting. I need a list of specs that will all work together to give a perfect workflow for my needs and I also would like advice on what Raid because I dont fully understand it as well as what back up drives etc should I have. I plan of buying the specs and having someone build it for me and set up raid etc that knows how to do all that. In case some of you wonder what type of computer I have now these are the specs if you need more information on what I have in my computer ask exactly what info you want to me to tell you and ill look it up.
If you have advice on specs I dont have to re-buy that I could take out of this computer to save money then that would be better as well. I currently have no back up external drives as well so Idk what I should buy for that as well. Thank you all for your time a head of time!

Well!!!!.....where do I start??  You must spend some time here reading all the valuable info that has been presented and discussed many times here. Basically, PPro is a very demanding , PROFESSIONAL program that needs beefy and SPECIFIC hardware to run properly.
AMD CPU will not cut it.....it lacks the necessary instruction set that Intel has that apply to video processing.
You need a fast Intel i7 CPU for starters.
You do not mention video card.....NVidia CUDA card of over 1GB video memory is required to enable the "Mercury PlaybackEngine", which provides a TEN TIMES INCREASE  in rendering speed of previews.....not to mention accelerating the export process by handling some specific effects during export.
Some DSLR codecs,( like Canon MOVs) cause PPro....which is a 64bit program..... to open the 32 bit " Quick time Importer" process, ( as Quick Time is 32 bit), slowing down the process, even with good hardware. Editing highly compressed consumer codecs,( AVCHD,etc.) in real time ,then exporting can be very taxing on a computer, requiring top -notch components. Even if you do it the old way and transcode to a more edit friendly codec before editing.....you would then need a larger, faster disk system to handle the huge files at a high speed!!!
16GB system memory is OK for 5.5.....with 6 and later, 32GB is better.
Two separate hard drives are the required minimum for PPro......currently, the best performing and cheapest setup would be : C drive=  120GB quality SSD, D drive = 2x 7200 RPM HDDs in onboard RAID 0 for pagefile, previews, and all cache files.  E drive= same setup as "D", for media, project files, and export.  F drive =  large 7200 rpm disk for necessary backup of important files and backup of "D" drive. All drives should "indexing" and" compression" turned OFF,( under drive Properties window).
Less expensive would be just three separate 7200 RPM HDDs...that could be OK with just DSLR footage which is so compressed that it requires less actual MB/sec., unless you are using many tracks of video, upping the requirement needed.
Read the many posts and articles by Harm Millard and Bill Gehrke....they have contributed a tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience to the readers.....preventing many from making bad purchases and expensive mistakes when trying to construct a machine that will perform well....their website, PPBM5 is invaluable as it can show you all the video benchmark results of differently configured machines. It is a good guide as to what you may want to build,or, purchase.....Good Luck!!

  • Is it possible to create a new preset for Export/Quicktime Conversion ?

    Hi,
I was wondering if there is a way to make a new export preset for the Export with Quicktime Conversion, in FCE HD 3.5
I am working on preparing a file for YouTube, and finding that some of the video effects render differently when exported, so I am having to render a couple of tests, but with YouTube's new 640x360 16:9 format, there is no easy way to do this other than checking the settings at each export. If one could make a new preset, it would be much easier. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    t

    thankyousir.
I think that Apple could add this, easily, as a feature to what, essentially, is QT Pro, and its embedded brother in FCE. Apple could also release a tiny update for QT including the new YouTube format... I haven't checked if iMovie knows about this new resolution, though it does upload directly to the tube itself.
    Thanks for your time,
    T

  • Correct settings for flv video

I have a bunch of videos, which I exported from Premiere pro CS5.5 to mp4 files. After this I used the Media Encoder to encode those videos to flv-files. The I opened Flash pro CS5.5 > import video > publish as swf and html. Same settings in the Encoder and Flash but still only half of them work. Those sites / videos that don't work just load and load, but nothing happens. Only option I have so is to encode them again from mp4 to flv using different settings to find ones that work. Sometimes bitrate encoding should be CBR, but sometimes it's VBR. For some videos I should encode alpha channel and for others there is no need. This is so frustrating. I'm using a whole day with this trial & error thing. It's hard for me to believe, that encoding settings should have such effect on the outcome. Could someone please help me with this one?
Example of an non-working site http://ok-opintokeskus.fi/tapahtumavideo2/jalkitoimet/jalkitoimet.html
    and a working one http://ok-opintokeskus.fi/tapahtumavideo2/toteuttajatyhteistk/toteuttajat_yhteistk.html

    Graficozzo
If you have 1920 x 1080 60i that 60i is not 60 frames per second but rather 60 fields per second. Consider that the same as 29.97/30 interlaced frames per second.
So, you want the Premiere Elements 11 project preset to be
    NTSC
    AVCHD
    AVCHD HD 1080i30
but if you have 5.1 channel audio with your video instead of stereo, then you want to use the project preset
    NTSC
    AVCHD
    AVCHD HD 1080i30 5.1 channel
When you drag your video for the first time to the Expert view Timeline, the project should set this project preset for you based on those video properties. You can check what it has set by looking at Edit Menu/Project Settings/General and the reading for Editing Mode, Timebase, and Frame Size. If it does not set the correct project preset, you can do that manually with File Menu/New/Project before you import you video into the project.
Please review the above. If you have any questions or need clarification on anything that I have written please do not hesitate to ask.
    Thank you.

  • Seving Security Presets for PDF's

I'm attempting to create a preset for PDF Export's that includes security settings (password, etc.) However, when I set the appropriate security settings, and save the preset, none of the security settings are being saved.
Am I to understand that this simply means that security savings cannot be saved in a preset? I'm using InDesign CS3 on a Mac.

You should be able to set up a Batch Sequence in Acrobat Pro or Professional.
In Acrobat Pro or Professional, choose Advanced > Document Processing > Batch Processing. Click New Sequence. Give it a name and click OK. In the Edit Batch Sequence dialog, choose Select Commands, and choose Document > Security, the click Add. Select Security in the list, and click Edit. Double-click on Security, and choose your Security Method. If you choose Password Security, the Password Security settings dialog will appear. Set them, and click OK. When finished with the Security sequence, choose when the sequence will be run, and the output location.
To run the batch sequence, choose Advanced Document > Document Processing > Batch Processing. Select the batch sequence you created, and choose Run Sequence.

  • NVIDIA Diplay driver crashes in Premiere Pro CS5.5

I have been editing AVCHD video in the latest version of Premiere Pro CS5.5 for some time now and then suddenly about 3 weeks ago I started having problems where the NVIDIA display driver for my GTX 580 would crash and then recover but kick me out of Premiere Pro in the process.  I had the Mercury Playback Hardware engine enabled.  Chaging it to software render mode fixed the issue and ultimately rolling my video drivers back to a previous version seemed to eliminate the problem completely allowing me to enable hardware render mode again.
I turned off auto updates on my video card since then and last night the problem suddenly came back.  This time software render mode crashes too.  I can even have Premiere Pro open and not be doing anyhting and sometimes after a while it just randomly crashes.  It happens with all my projects and never in the same place on the timeline.
I deleted all of the render files and recreated them and even imported the project into a new project.  This did not fix it.
I tried reinstalling old and new drivers using the "clean install" feature.  No good.
I edited the TDR settings in my registry increasing the delay time before it recovers as recommended by Microsoft when this issue occcurs and this did not resolve my issue.
I am really concerned now because from everyhting I have read it should be working in software render mode.  Since it's not I am at a loss.
I have other programs that use CUDA hardware rendering and none of them have an issue.  It just seems to be with Premiere.
I also checked the temperature of the video card and that's fine.  No overheating issues with my MOBO either.
I read somewhere that it could even be caused by a drop in clock speed on the card so I downloaded a utility to overclock my card and that didn't resolve the issue either.
Any ideas?  I'm in crunch time on a major project and I can't render, export or do anything without it crashing.
I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, 12 GB of RAM, terabytes of hard drive space and an intel 6 core processor.  My specs are well above the requirements.  I have had this card since December and like I said, the issues just started a few weeks ago.
    Thanks.

I am not at home so I haven't tried rolling back further but I can confirm the version drivers that I tried are 320.18 which was working for a while, 320.49 and 327.23.
For reference I have Premiere Pro CS5.5.2 and the latest Windows 7 64-bit updates installed.
The mobo is an ASUS P6T Deluxe.
When I reinstall the NVIDIA drivers I use the clean install option which completely removes the previous version before reinstalling.  I found that I have to reinstall this is the best way since uninstalling from the control panel only adds the drivers back on a reboot.
