Presetting of messaging type in SIM card

I have two Nokia models, one N73 and two 2323 Classic. In both, message type i. e. SMS or MMS, is selected during writing the actual message.
Can anyone tell me if there are Nokia models where the message type can be preset from the SIM card?
Although it is hardly relevant in a Nokia forum, I also try to find out if other mobile brands can support such a feature. So if anyone knows, please tell me!

I'm not sure if that is in anyway linked to you sim card.
If you want to go straight to typing an sms, you can press the left navigation key(fairly standard Nokia shortcut which should be preset on both those phones)
you can change this shortcut to MMS from your shortcut settings.
If you for instance don't want to be able to send MMS then you can have your operator disable this(They might not all be able to do this), Removing the acces point (N73) or MMS settings(2323) could also work

If your phone was EVER hacked to unlock it, when you updated the hack was removed and it's now re-locked to its original carrier and will work only with a SIM card from that carrier..

        Hey there Dale1462,
I am sorry for the issues you are having with your Lumia over in the Phillipines.  I understand that cost is a concern, so I absolutely understand why you would use a local carrier sim card while in the Phillipines.
I am unable to troubleshoot any issues that you are having while on another carriers network. Did you have the sim card unlocked by our Global Support team?
If not, please reach out to our Global Support team at 800-711-8300 to do so.

  • HT201436 How do I recover voicemail messages after the sim card has been taken out and put back in?

If you take the sim card out for any reason do you automatically loose all of your saved phone messages. If you reset the password to your voicemail through AT&T does it prevent you from recovering saved voicmails even if you've have not done a backup in itunes.

The SIM card has nothing to do with phone messages, nothing is stored to it. Resetting the password also should not delete them.

  • I reset the iphone, message as "the sim card instered in this iphone dosn't appear to be supported" me using it in Pakistan

any body help me out, i lot my passcode .. when i reset my iphone then.. the problem arised.. as
"the sim card instered in this iphone dosn't appear to be supported"
    any tips..

The message is appearing because your iPhone is carrier locked. Apparently, the phone was hacked to make it work where you live. Updating software or restoring a hacked iPhone will re-lock the phone back to the carrier it was originally locked to. That's what has happened to you. No one here can help you. Only the carrier that an iPhone is locked to can authorize the phone's official unlocking. So, either contact that carrier or use Google for instructions on how to re-hack your phone. Good luck.

Article ID: KB05099 Steps to take before selling or after buying a previously owned BlackBerry smartphone
All of those Seller steps, of course, should be done before the device is delivered to the buyer. After that point, there is nothing you can do, unless you happened (still before) to have installed BB Protect onto the device, in which case you could use the tools it has to perhaps wipe it now.
All in all, this is a difficult lesson for you to learn...giving away personal information is something that no one should ever do, and yet exactly what you did do.

  • Ways To Transfer Nokia N82 Messages To Sim Card

Hello, I would like to know on how to transfer memory card messages to my sim card. Please help me as soon as possible. Thanks and cheers.
If you think what I've just post is useful, do give me a kudos! xD

There is only way and that, soft format your mobile. For that, backup your mobile's contacts, notes, calender and bookmarks via Nokia PC Suite backup utility. Don't backup anything else like messages settings or user files etc. Now type this as like dial a number *#7370# (default security code is 12345). Your phone will restart and format your mobile's C drive. When mobile starts, connect your mobile with your PC using data cable. Run Nokia PC Suite, wait for half minute then click on Help -> Reinstall PC Suite support. An installation message will appear in your mobile. Install everything and wait for a minute. Restart your mobile and restore your backup first in your mobile. Now transfer your messages on to phone memory. Go to Massaging -> Options -> Settings -> Other -> Memory in use, select phone memory and the question will be asked to transfer messages to phone memory. Click Yes and there your message memory transferred to phone memory with all messages. Good luck... (Give some Kudos if you like my suggesion)

  • 8300 SIM card is full! Please delete some SMS Text Messages.

I have had my BlackBerry Curve since December of 2008. It has recently started acting up, and my main problem is that it claims the SIM card is full.
    Options
    SMS Text Text
Leve Messages on SIM Card: No
I haven't any contacts stored on my SIM. What gives?
Message Edited by afawcett88 on 09-04-2009 01:59 PM

I finally figured out how to delete SMS text messages from the SIM card.  Open a text that you sent or you received from someone.  Open the menu then "view folder" option.  All of your sent and received text messages will be stored here and can be deleted.

  • I am trying to setup a refurbished iPad and I get a message block that appears repeatedly stating "No SIM card installed."

How do I remove an informational message that repeatedly appears on the center of my screen of the refurbished iPad that I am trying to set up.  The message is "No SIM card installed."

    Hi Saddledoc,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you are getting a message that the iPad has No SIM Card installed. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • Why do I get a message that says "no sim card detected"?

I have been getting a message reading "no sim card detected" for the past 2 days.  It would only appear for like a split second then quickly disappear.  Can anyone help me on this situation?  It doesn't seem serious, but i paid a lot of money for the 5s, and i want it to work in tip-top shape.

Sprint is CDMA, so they usually don't actually issue physical sim cards.  Sprint is like the company I work for, in that they do OTASP.  Take it into the store and have them connect it to wifi and reactivate the device.
(the only acception to this is that CDMA carriers will issue physical sim cards for 4g connectivity some times)

  • No SIM Card Installed message iOS8

I have a 3rd gen iPad with LTE. After any reboot using iOS7, I would get a pop up message saying "No SIM Card Installed" and that was that. It would never show up again. After updating to iOS8, this message pops up randomly and it's getting irritating.
I've gone through every app and disabled "Use Cellular Data" but I'm still getting the message.
I don't have a SIM installed since the data plan costs have gotten out of hand and i only use Wi-Fi. What changed with iOS8 to cause this to keep popping up and how do I stop it, save for doing a complete wipe and reinstall?
    Thanks,
    David

I have an iPad Air and kept getting the No SIM Card message, very frustrating
Went to the Apple store for a dummy SIM, and even after putting it in and leaving it, it didn't work.
But I THINK I FOUND THE SOLUTION!! Haven't seen the message since I tried this
Step 1: Take your iPhone SIM that actually works and put it into your iPad
Step 2: Turn on Cellular Data on iPad, let it connect with network
Step 3: Turn off cellular data, and leave the SIM card in iPad
Step 4: Reset iPad (turn it off by holding the On/Off Sleep/Wake button
Step 5: Turn it back on
Step 6: Take SIM out, there should be the No SIM Card message just once
After this I haven't seen it pop up again (for the last few hours!!!)
Remember to like this if it works for you!!!
