Previous version comparison to avoid transport error

Friends,
Sometimes multiple developers need to work on a same object at a time. for example, users exits in PO, RFQ & Contract.
In such cases before moving a request to production, we have to check carefully whether previous version already moved to production to avoid transport error.
I'm developing a program with basic idea to check whether the previous version of all the objects assigned in a given request exists in production.
Please let me know if you have some idea about it already.
Thanks & Regards,
Sudhahar R.

If you are in ECC then you can check the possibility of encapsulating the customised functionality within Enhancement Spots by creating an Enh Implementation. This way neither there is a need to get the access key for changing the standard objects for user exits nor this will be affected during the upgrade and also different teams can work on the same object at a time without having any  issues.
If you are in prior version to ECC then the only way is to have all the developers working on different user exits of the same transaction have an understanding about the TRs and their version. Each and every respective developer should compare the dev version with the production version everytime he is moving the TR from dev to QA and then to production. This way he can ensure that the TR has only got his current and valid changes and no other changes.
Thanks,
K.Kiran.

  • Why does uninstalling previous versions of TestStand causes registry errors?

When I upgrade to newer version of NI Developer Suite, I experience issues with registry class ID's, and the TestStand version selector can no longer make a determination which version of TestStand is active?
This issues forces a removal of ALL NI software, and a reinstallation, which is very time consuming??

Typically Doug, I would agree, however I have come across two seperate instances now where simply doing an uninstall has caused issues with some of the TestStand components being registered properly, which ultimately causes the version selector tool to not be able to determine which version has been installed.
The included pics show what I have come across twice now, and I simply don't know what I could have possibly done to cause the problem??

  • Error opening previous version documents

    Hello,
We are having the issue of open Sharepoint previous version documents.  When we attempt to open the previous version documents we got an error "Sorry we coudn't open https://sharepoint.its.com/howto/_vit_history/2560/doc1.docx.
    Our environment: Sharepoint 2013
       Document library versioning turned on.
I am the site collection administrator, so I know its not the permission issue.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi,
As I understand, you encountered the error when you opened the previous version documents in SharePoint 2013.
Can you open previous version of all the documents in the document library? Or does the issue occur on specific file types?
Can you open the previous version documents in other browser?
    Check things below:
    1. Check if select the “Do not save encrypted pages to disk” in Internet Options --> Advanced, you can deselect the option and to check if the same situation will occur.
    2. You can go to Internet Options --> Advanced and click "Reset All Internet Explorer Settings", then to check if the same situation will occur.
    3. Check the detail of the error in the ULS log.
    4. You also can create a new document library with versioning enabled and upload some documents, then open the previous version of the documents to check if the same situation will occur.

When I try to open video files purchased through iTunes in Quicktime, I get the message: 'Error 23132: an unknown error occurred. This never happened until I updated iTunes, but when I try to go back to the previous version, I still get the message. It is more convenient for me to play videos in Quicktime since iTunes is such a memory hog. Please help.

You may get better results if you switch to this alternate version: iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) and, if needed, reinstall QuickTime. The new (nearly) all 64-bit version doesn't seem to play well with QuickTime. Perhaps if DRM authentication is required QuickTime needs to be able to see something that is part of the older 32-bit code.

  • I Beta tested 4.0 RC1 and now can not upgrade to 4.0. Error message is need to reboot to complete prior instalation. Have removed all previous versions of Firefox, rebooted and still same error message.

I Beta tested up to and including 4.0 RC1 without major problems. However I can not now upgrade to 4.0. Same error message time and again, "need to reboot to complete prior upgrade instalation". I rebooted several times, then tried first removing all previous versions of Firefox using both MS Add/Remove and then iolo System Mechanic, then again downloading 4.0. Even after rebooting same error message. I can not therefore install/use Firefox.

    Do a clean (re-)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • LV 8.2 Error in opening vi saved with LV 8.5 in previous version

    Hey,
I'm currently using LabVIEW 8.5 at my laptop to program, but at my lab we have LV 8.2. I'm having the following problem:
I save a vi with LV 8.5 in a previous version (8.2), and it sends me a warning wich says:
"Fixed-point numbers are not supported in the previous version of LabVIEW. They have been converted to double precision numbers."
When I try to open it with LV 8.2, it gives me the following messages of error:
    Load Error: "Improper Format".
    Load Error: "Unknown Error".
LabView Generic Error: An error occurred loading "file.vi" . LabView load error code 24: This VI cannot be loaded because it is broken and it has no block diagram.
    Thanks in advance,
    Moritz

    Hello.
Could you send us your VI (v8.5) please? Thanks.

  • Error saving for previous version 2009 to 8.5

I have a project with a VI containing DAQmx Data Acquisition VIs, timed loops and other standard conrols and indicators.  When trying to save for previous version (from LV2009 to LV8.5) an error occurs.  All of the dependencies can be saved to previous versions but the main VI cannot.  Can anyone help with this problem?
The error message can be seen in the image attached.

Backsaving creates a folder structure with the backsaved VI and all support files in their relative locations. This might be useful in most cases.
Very often I just need a single VI (without SubVIs) backsaved. I do this programmatically using VI server (open VI reference, then call the "Save For Previous" method, then close the reference). See image below.
To do this for a project you could of course use a recursive file list and go through the whole list (programmatically), saving the VIs in a parallel folder structure (create destination folder before saving the VI).

  • LV2011 bug - Error wired to boolen function breaks when saving for previous version

I just downloaded LabVIEW 2011 this morning. I created this VI and saved it for LV2010 to see how it would deal with it. I opened the VI in LabVIEW 2010SP1 and the error wire is broken. There were no warnings about problems saving this VI as an earlier version.
    =====================
    LabVIEW 2012
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I would not consider this to be a "bug".
I would call it rather an "incomplete feature" were the extra-mile (backwards compatibility) is not fully implemented. So filing a suggestion is really the best thing to do (i will not file one since it is your idea, but i will kudo it!).
Saving VIs to previous versions does not change the BD itself. The requested functionality would require BD analysis and inserting (per scripting) an unbundle into the error wire. This is a complete new functionality, at least i am not aware that this is happening anywhere else....
As a "part time solution" i would like to see a BD analyzer which warns you about possible issues during downconvert. So in your case an "errorlist entry" like:
Warning: Connecting the error cluster to boolean functions is a new feature to LV 2011. Saving for previous version will lead to a broken VI.
    just my 5 cents,

  • Errors opening a project in Adobe Premiere pro CC 2014 from previous version

    Hello!
I have a problem with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014. I use Adobe to edit my film project and from the last time I updated the CC to CC 2014, it shows me an error message (Pic nr 1). When I want to continue and save that, Premiere CC 2014 shows me another message(Nr 2). but next time when I want to open that, it's impossible ... (Nr 3).
I didn't change or remove anything. The problem started after I updated the program. Even now that I want to open the project with previous version of CC 2013, its showing me the same errors...
Do someone have any idea about it?
    Thanks

    Try this:
Error "This project contained a sequence that could not be opened"

  • Error message: previous version saved in adobe premiere pro

    Greetings all,
PrEl 7 shut down unexpectedly when I tried to save a portion of my timeline as an avi.  When I re-opened it, I got the error message previous version of this project saved in adobe premiere pro and it would not allow me to open it.
What can I do to restore the project; I'm in the finishing stages.
    Thanks,
    Antoinette

There have been a couple of similar threads, and some are fairly recent. I do not recall if there was ever a resolution. It also seems that people have looked at the XML code in the PREL files, and their header info clearly stated PrElements, and not PrPro, yet something is not being read correctly by PrE.
Now, do you have any AutoSave versions of the PREL? Note: the default is five AutoSaves, and these are overwritten, once one has gotten the five. Check the Time/Date of each, as 003 might be later than 005.
If I can find some of those threads, I will post links to them, and also refresh my memory on any solutions.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
